Beth I always heard the same thing. You did great! Deer have done some damage to a couple of my vehicles. Glad for your clear head and actions!
Boob squeeze this morning before work. Leaving work at 330 as I have training at 4 on computer. Cant do at work as I keep getting interrupted, so am coming home early.
SIL actually did something out of character for herself yesterday. She bought herself a new Hellcat challenger. I am proud of her! I also told her that. Everything else she has ever done in the time I have known her is from someone else's viewpoint or need. This was all her. (I know....us crazy car people!)
Better get this day going.
Hugs!
High fives!
Prayers!

Allie Happy birthday!
Beth so glad you and DH are not hurt. Well done!
Sorry to hear of the diabetes.
Debbie I'm always thinking about you and MIL. Hope things settle into a bearable routine.
Thanks for all the hugs, ladies! I'm back in the saddle, and hoping I didn't slide back too far. Busy day today, so that will help.

Morning, afternoon or evening, dear hearts,
Beth - Your reactions were so perfect. So pleased you are both OK. Sorry about the diabetes diagnosis for the DH. I can see easily see how that many stressful things in a short period of time can led to a domestic.
Allie - Happy birthday, my chicken! Hope yours is filled with all the love you give to others--it certainly should be.
Ginny - I would be really interested in the pelvic floor therapy exercises, especially if they don't require equipment. Issues with pelvic floor pain have been a big part of the overall issues I've been dealing with the last couple years.
Heather - Sounds like you are keeping yourself and your DH busy. He loves you very much, and it's easy to see that because he keeps trying to learn to dance! What a wonderful guy. Hope the rest of the trip is just as fun as the first part of the cruise was. Oh, and there is no such thing as too many waterfalls. The view out your cruise ship window is gorgeous.
On my soapbox regarding food: Everyone has their way of thinking about the food they eat and their exercise, so take this with a grain of salt. My relationship with food got much less stressful when I quit thinking of it as "good" or "bad." It's just fuel for my body. Heather goes the other direction and keeps her weight down so she can eat the wonderful food she loves. For many of us, food has been our coping tool for most of our lives. Feel bad? Eat. Feel great? Eat. Feel sad? Eat. Hate yourself at the moment? Eat. Under enormous stress? Eat.
Replacing food as a coping tool can be accomplished through varied actions, such as journaling, writing, walking, box breathing, crafting, painting, sewing, talking to someone you love, and so on. When you find other ways to deal with your life than eating or overeating, you start to break the habit of trying to change the way you feel with food.
Funny/weird story on deer accidents: 12 years ago, Corey and I had just moved into a condo, and he was working out in the oilfield while I took a day's vacation to get things unpacked and in order at home. While I was doing that, I pulled our wedding cake topper out of a box, and when I did, the groom's head fell off. I immediately dug out the super glue and put the head back on the body and put it on a shelf. Within the hour, Corey called and told me that on the way to the oil lease he was working, a deer had hit his company truck. It trashed the right front quarter panel, and then kept sliding, and there was deer poop all down the side of his truck to prove it. He said he looked in the rearview mirror and the deer popped up like a jack-in-the-box and continued on its way. I told him I saved his life because I glued his head back on. Stranger things have happened.
Off to the races, kids,
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR

Beth near Buffalo Holy cannoli! The calm and presence of mind you had in that moment is amazing! I pray I will too should I ever need to do it. Wow!
Allie Happy Birthday!!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie It’s blown glass but from Amazon! I love our hummingbirds!
Dad is a lot better today. He was the first one up on the porch this morning to a surprising 59 degrees! Our working cat, Pumpkin, was in his lap and enjoying scratches when I opened the door and she fled the scene. She never does that! I enjoyed the early morning with just the two of us talking. It’s the little things.
Have a fabulous day friends!
Continue to believe in yourselves! We’re none of us alone for too long if we need connection. Reach out here or privately for a good ear or a friendly chat!

Barbara, that cabinet in the bottom right corner (with the little slot) is the shredding box. SO convenient! LOL We have four in the building. I imagine they're going to have to start getting rid of them in a couple years though as we're going digital next year. Five years from now, we shouldn't have nearly as much paper leftover! YAY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLIE!!!

Beth, I am so impressed with your calmness. We really don’t expect to encounter deer on the interstate, yet they are there. My cousin hit one in Mississippi en route to NOLA from GA for my brother in law’s funeral. Talk about crazy and inconvenient. My son’s jeep is at the dealership now. The body shop fixed the body but something threw the electrical system out of whack beyond the capabilities of the body shop to fix. We’re still not sure if insurance is going to fix that.
I am finally back on track. I’ve dropped some of my stress eating weight and have followed my boundaries every day this week. I hope I can keep it up.
Katla, prayers for your DH.
Debbie, hugs for you. You are on a tough journey.
There were others I wanted to comment on, but I didn’t take notes and my brain fog kicked in. know I sent up good thoughts when I read your post.6 -
Still blah, UFO festival this weekend. Maybe that will bring my mood up. Therapy next Wednesday can’t be soon enough, then sinus surgery on Friday. DH goes for denture fitting on Thursday. Busy week coming up.

Worked today then stopped at Dollar General for distilled water. Now home, will probably go in the pool a bit.
Got dinner ready and yogurt in the IP. Jess and Colby should be here tomorrow. I think I’ll leave the IP out because that’s the one Colby gave me. Let him see that it’s being used, not just in a cabinet.
Vince has always said that if you have a choice between swerving and hitting a tree or hitting a deer, hit the deer.
Vince has these purple spots on his leg and from what he read on the internet (as if that’s a good source), one thing is to lose weight. I finally convinced him that it’s not what you eat, it’s more how much of what. So instead of full size muffins, I’ll make mini muffins so he can have two. I did make some full sized ones for Jess and Colby
Carol GA – the only thing we have planned for Monday is work for me. Even ceramics is closed!
Lisa – one of my ways of dealing with eating is to work on the jigsaw puzzle. But I’ll probably be done soon so then I’ll work on a craft
RV Rita – a UFO festival should be fun! Can’t wait to hear all about it.

Allie--Happy Birthday!
Beth--So glad you were able to think fast and save from being part of big accident. Glad you are alright. Sorry to hear about DH, but I am sure the nutritionist will be able to give you some good ideas.
Carla--Good luck on going paperless. They have been telling us here that we are going paperless and that all patient charts and records will be on the computer. But been several years and we still have lots of papers.
Got some meds from the vet yesterday for the dogs for during the fireworks. Know that last evening for Kia it did not help much. Hoping tonight does better. She just runs in circles barking. Part is because she is chihuahua. I will be glad when Monday is over.

Thanks! ... to all who commented on my deer/car incident. We have the Ford at our dealership that also has a collision repair shop. Get this. There are 23 cars ahead of us in the collision shop ... ALL are from deer hits. This is really unusual this time of the year ... during rut ... yeah, we expect running deer. There's talk that the coyote population is getting high and chasing the new fawns. Crazed mamas trying to protect their babies I guess.
Diabetes ... my husband has been playing with fire diet wise. His family has a history of diabetes and yet here he sat each night eating ice cream! But, if you recall, when my son had non-stop migraines, I tackled the elimination diet for him looking for triggers. (Food was never the issue by the way). So my poor husband is already getting an overload of "diabetes" information from me! I will help him as he is one of those men that needs to be taken care of and, frankly, the changes will benefit me as well.
Katla ... thinking of you ...

Beth I understand your concern about your husband. My husband's health challenges are different but he has been urged by doctors for decades to make changes in his habits and he has either rebelled or started then stopped. He has had two "aha moments" that caused him to change and neither of them came from me. All I could do was to jump in a be supportive and encouraging and refrain from saying "I told you so". Best wishes.

So yesterday was just a bad day. My mood sucked, I felt like nothing went right, I felt like nobody thought I did anything right. I just wanted to cry all day. Today was better, rough but I was in a much better place mentally. I got the kitchen cleaned and trash gathered before work. Got the route done for pick up and delivery before left for mammogram. Found out pick up and delivery driver still sick, so had to send a mechanic and my husband. Not a good combination, but DH can't drive and mechanic doesn't know how to tie down units. Customers were good but complicated. If something could go wrong it did. One customer turned around after he left and came back in to tell me that my truck had a flat tire. I mean FLAT! Put air in, air comes out. Got the spare put on, but couldn't take tire anywhere because we were short handed at work. I handled it all with a smile on my face, still in a good mood. One mechanic left early, still not sure why...he didn't discuss with any of us. One mechanic had gone home due to health issues earlier. I was leaving at 3:30 to do online training at home. I had planned on bringing DH home with me, but his sister had to bring him home because of lack of people at work. He is in a spiteful mood tonight. I waited to fix dinner as I wasn't sure what he had planned for tonight and apparently that was the wrong thing. OH well, dinner is cooking, then I will go run a couple of errands. He can keep his grumpy butt at home.
Mammogram has to be redone on left side. Not concerned really but they some some things they need better clarification of. Waiting on doctor order to have left redone differently.
Better finish dinner. Catch you soon!

They have been shooting off fireworks here for weeks now, some right over the trees that hang over our back fence.
Last night there was one super loud one, shook the house/scared me.
I will stay awake until they are done with them sometime around 2AM on Tuesday morning, if it is like the past few years. Watching and listening- don't want them catching the juniper and eucalyptus trees to catch on fire.
I will be here by myself or maybe my son will be here. I am also pet sitting for a friend who lives a few blocks away. Need to hang out there for part of the evening.
Happy birthday Allie!! I hope you have had a wonderful day.
Barbie and Beth- my dh is diabetic and still eats things he shouldn't-I know he has found that stress raises his sugar more than food but the food he eats and when he eats is NOT helping him at all.
No exercise what so ever is also not helping him. I have tried to change things- like what I cook(but he is a snacker and works in a grocery store and goes out with friends too much) and won't go walk with me.
Kylia- HUGS- hope tomorrow is so much better
Shower time for MIL went really well. At first she said she didn't need one and asked how could she with her cast- wrapped in seran wrap then a plastic bag. Used the shower chair. She really enjoyed it. Had some foaming body wash of mine that I brought over . She really liked that and getting her hair washed. While washing it we could really see how big of a gash she got when she fell the second time(and broke her ribs)- She was able to help wash which was nice- wasn't looking forward to part of that but she did well. Said she felt really good when we got done. Took her back upstairs and covered her up with my sherpa blanket and she went right to sleep. DH and I were able to go out for a couple hours to do some errands.
He said it has been almost two days since she has yelled at him or demanded anything. He is starting to get a little more sleep but still not enough- 1-2 hrs at a time is not great but better than nothing.
Another great thing is that she has not smoked at all in a week- this lady used to smoke over a pack a day. Hasn't mentioned it the last few days at all. This is a total shock for us- she has smoked for ever.
I walked the dog for 30 min, shins are hurting because of some of the hills we went on. Will walk with my friend at one park this evening for an hour or so.
Tomorrow walking the dog and then walking with another friend at the other park.
Hitting over 10,000 steps each day since Sunday.

Our son and daughter are here and rearranging the house to improve safety. We will all work on making our place safer and easier for DH. I hope it goes well. ❤️6

Terri - just an fyi I sent you a pm
Kim
I didn’t receive it. Apparently, MFP doesn’t let you send PMs to people unless they are on your friends list.
Allie: 🥳Happy Birthday 🎉 🎂
Beth: You did the right thing. Sorry that you had that stress and the car was damaged. Your DH was probably reacting to the prang + his diagnosis.
Time to move 😝
🥳🎉 Cheers to all those celebrating.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Stones of Brodgar and Skara Brea. A lifetime dream fulfilled.

About to leave port and off to home. Very busy day, but amazing.
Skara Brae is a village from 4600 years ago. Tha Stones are a stone circle nearby. The day started off foggy and raining, but it cleared up during the Skara Brea viewing and we even had sunshine! Also visited the house of the local laird who discovered the site in the 19th century. Drove past other well known sites like Maes Howe.
Grabbed a quick lunch when we returned to the ship and then caught the shuttle bus into the capital Kirkwall. Wonderful cathedral from 1150 and a Bishops Palace.
Formal night tonight, but not sure we want to get dressed up. May eat in cabin. DH especially tired from a bad night. I'm fine. I'm so happy to have seen things I've seen many times on TV.
Love Heather UK again xxxxxx
