Starting to see a bit of a shift in those numbers on the scale…..in the desired direction!
Key things I tried this week:
1) I tried to do exercise at least 5 times/week - I was just under that goal by 1 day. But did do a lot of walking at the mall on
Saturday LOL. Added basic strength workouts at home to improve muscle tone.
2)Tried to up my protein, but looking at my nutrition stats I’m not hitting the mark on that goal.
3)DONT BUY SWEAT TREATS AND BRUNG THEM HOME! Well this is a continued struggle but I’m getting better:/

Hi. I'm 75 and after being retired for a year, felt there was still "more" to life, so entirely switched occupations and now work as a server at an Assisted living Sr Home. Work is hard but saves going to the gym! I live in central B.C., Canada
I'm usually not very successful at challenges but hope to focus on the thoughts and situations that trigger my evening over eating habit.
Recent lowest wt: 156 ( Aug 2021); at first a slow backslide, but it picked up speed over the past 10 weeks. Now yo-yoing between 166.6 and 163.

Takeaways:
I did not drink alcohol on the days I had the body sculpting class- which was a plus for me! I also did not want to ruin the exercise high by drinking or eating after the class either.

I went to the doctor this week for a routine exam and got on the scale, and it showed 125 lbs. I stared at it and KNEW it was a false thing. LOL I am much more than that. I told the nurse that the weight was clearly wrong.
Anyway, I got on the scale again and was not surprised because I knew that for the last six months, I have been drinking copious amounts of wine with my new husband and going out to eat. They say you gain weight when you're in love, I guess that's true.
I told him we have to scale back; so this week I did keep track on MFP with what I ate which is a plus.
I just have to keep calories down and not drink my calories- such a waste.
Logging everything in MFP definitely helps us see the consequences of over-indulging in whatever it is that makes us happy. I still eat all those types of foods I mentioned, but now far less often and far less when I do. "Moderation in all things."

Still losing weight from stress without wanting to— actually faster than when I was trying to lose weight. My stomach is in knots and total gastric distress (can’t keep any food down and i feel like I have my period even though I have been menopausal for 5+ years). My aunt calls me constantly and alternates between yelling and crying, she undermines my ability to help her do the things she has asked me to do by either cancelling them after I have set them up, not following through on things she has said she would do, or telling people who I need to talk to that they are not allowed to share info with me (contrary to the terms of my durable power of attorney for her). She has asked me to help her move closer to me and I am doing that, and paying for all of it, but I am also losing lots of money I can’t afford to lose because of her shenanigans (like 18K in the last week on lost deposits and renovations). I am a professor and don’t have that kind of money to just throw away and I am not that far away from needing to support myself in retirement too.
@Sinisterbarbie1 My heart goes out to you. I will be praying for your Aunt to be touched with kindness, compassion, cooperation and understanding during this time. I will pray that you will be given relief. Sending all the good vibes possible your way. Trust and have faith. God and all the powers that be know your problems and your efforts. My name is Donna. I am 62 years old, 5' 5" tall. I live in the Midwest of USA. I am in remission for breast cancer, have Type 2 Diabetes, an under active thyroid, high blood pressure and cholesterol, some osteoporosis and coronary heart disease with a stent in my heart. I am working to get healthier. I know losing weight and exercising more will help all of these issues.

08/01-201.1-(Trend Weight: 201.4)- Surgery today.
08/08-196.4-(Trend Weight: 200.3)- A very nice drop after a very good week of recuperating after surgery and no travel. I’ve been working pretty hard to make my scratch-off chart listed above a little more honest after I drifted back up into the 200’s. Travel today and tomorrow, both involving food but I will try to be reasonable. I’m officially allowed more movement starting tomorrow, but I did sneak on the exercise bike for about 16 minutes last night. It must have pushed the scale. My overnight drop was 1.8 lbs and I’ve been working for every drop of that! Nice to see a catch-up weight like that. Don’t blow it over the next couple of days of restaurant food Donna……
08/15-199.0-(Trend Weight: 199.4)- A bit of a gain from last week but it was a huge drop in weight after surgery so I think this is fair. I am happy to be in Onederland still, and my trend weight is down by nearly an entire pound over last week so I feel this is most accurate and current.
08/22-200.0-(Trend Weight: 200.2)- I had plenty of travel this past week which mainly involved medical. That never helps the scale. I have been at a standstill the past 3 days (when the travel stopped), I don’t often hit a plateau at this high of a weight so it’s a bit surprising but there are so many new meds with the heart issues and such water retention on the days I don’t take the heart-healthy water pill that it can become confusing for me. The best advice I can give myself is to keep up the healthy habits, do whatever exercise is approved right now and just stay the course. It has to pay off at some point. I’m working pretty hard on my glucose numbers at this point. I need to cut more carbs.

I'm back. Going to be a few challenging weeks during these 3 months as we have a couple of holidays planned
I'm Sherri and live in BC. My long term goal is to lose 40Ibs by next September. I know this is feasible but lately I haven't had any luck with losing weight. We have a Ireland trip planned for then. I'm hoping the weight loss will help with my arthritic knees and back so I can enjoy the trip.

Going camping for the weekend. I planned a menu and hoping to stick to it. I packed extra fruit and veggies so hoping I won't snack as much on the junk food. I'm down a little bit since Monday's weigh-in and don't want to gain it back. We usually do a lot of walking so maybe I can burn off any extra calories I eat😉
I haven't gone out for my daily walk for over a week now. The weather has been too hot and I've just got lazy. No excuse for not getting out as our local arena is open during the day and has a walking path I can use on the hot days.
I will get back to it on Monday...funny thing though is since I stopped walking my weight has gone down and when I walk it goes up. Could just be a coincidence. I will have to keep track and see what happens next week.

Missed 2 days in a row of my normal exercise last weekend, the days of the week when I typically need it the most and, as a result, I went over my calorie and macro goals both days. Back to school means less focus but more walking/running from the library up to the front office and various classes. After 6 months of strict eating, I'm testing out old favorites to see how my blood glucose reacts. In N Out is a hard NO (the bun is 70% of the joy!) but some alternative pasta (like chickpea pasta) is a yes.
For anyone struggling... I recommend hiring a registered dietician. I put in a ton of mental space over the past 6 months but my google skills fail me when I don't know what I don't know. There is SO much that affects our bodies from sleep (why am I up at 2 am?) to bowel health (I was surprised how much time we spent on this) to micronutrients in my diet to counteract my diabetes. YOU deserve an expert to guide you to a healthier life.

UGW-122 lbs. I was there in 2009/10 and kept it off for 5 years then got lazy.
My goal is to continue with what seems to work for me. 1000-1200 calories, low carb 15 Net +/- 3(My body seems to not do well with carbs. It doesn't know how to burn them and hangs onto them way too much!), minimum 70 + oz of water, 2 meals/day on my days off(3) and 3 meals on my work days(which are long), exercise on my 3 days off. My weigh in day is Sunday.

Congratulations on your steps, exercise and honest food logging. Don't let any lack of progress weight-wise discourage you. There are times when your progress consists of non-scale victories. Have patience and faith, be diligent, and keep striving for your goal. You'll see your results in the long run.

Monthly loss. 2.8lbs not great but at least it is a loss.
Finally going in the right direction. I will have to be very careful this week as I have done this before, down a couple of weeks then up again.
Camped this week and really watched what I ate and walked at least twice a day. Now that I home I will need to stick to a menu and start tracking my foods. I got out of the habit of tracking food but I found I did much better when I keep track.
We have 2 Fall Fairs the next 2 weekends and that is where I usually splurge. I usually buy a 4-H burger or some other food truck meal, mini donuts and fudge each weekend. I will try not to get all of them each weekend. Maybe mini donuts 1 weekend and fudge the other. Let's see how much will power I have.

Great to see everyone's success over the past week.
I am slowing loosing a bit of fat I think - the numbers are not going down that much as I have begun strength workouts and feel that my muscle tone has increased.
Good week overall - had 1 day of large overage in calories. I mean I just went for it! A&W then bag of Gummy Bears and a Crunchie bar. It was good, but next day my arthritis/inflammation was apparent!!
GOALS:
*Have 6 days of staying within Calorie count.
*Increase Protein...Never hitting the mark here.
*5 days of exercise this week.
**Only 1 small candy per day. I bought 7 Ginger candies to have each day.**
