Breastfeeding can make you ravenous at times. I need to work harder at not giving into it. I will try harder in September.

My name is Donna. I am 62 years old, 5' 5" tall. I live in the Midwest of USA. I am in remission for breast cancer, have Type 2 Diabetes, an under active thyroid, high blood pressure and cholesterol, some osteoporosis and coronary heart disease with a stent in my heart. I am working to get healthier. I know losing weight and exercising more will help all of these issues.

08/15-199.0-(Trend Weight: 199.4)-
08/22-200.0-(Trend Weight: 200.2)- I had plenty of travel this past week which mainly involved medical. That never helps the scale. I have been at a standstill the past 3 days (when the travel stopped), I don’t often hit a plateau at this high of a weight so it’s a bit surprising but there are so many new meds with the heart issues and such water retention on the days I don’t take the heart-healthy water pill that it can become confusing for me. The best advice I can give myself is to keep up the healthy habits, do whatever exercise is approved right now and just stay the course. It has to pay off at some point. I’m working pretty hard on my glucose numbers at this point. I need to cut more carbs.
08/29-196.6-(Trend Weight: 199.8)- I love this lower weight and although it reflects a week of great effort, it also reflects a large overnight drop so I question it’s authenticity. I was severely dehydrated last night due to my heart-healthy water pill. I pushed water very late but feel the dehydration has played a part. Today is my family doctor appt for surgery follow-up and A1C glucose testing. I know my sugars remain way up and my medications are not responding but I am still trying to avoid insulin.

Hi. I'm 75 and after being retired for a year, felt there was still "more" to life, so entirely switched occupations and now work as a server at an Assisted living Sr Home. Work is hard but saves going to the gym! I live in central B.C., Canada
I'm usually not very successful at challenges but hope to focus on the thoughts and situations that trigger my evening over eating habit.

Lynn...I know what you mean about more to life. I myself have considered going back to work and am only 60. I retired over a year and ahalf ago. I have arthritis in my back and knees and my last job got too heavy for me.
Funny but the job I was considering applying for is a server in an Assist living Sr home. I also live in BC in the Shuswap.
Have a great day5 -

Lost 4 pounds in August! I am 5 pounds away from my original (when I downloaded the app) MFP goal. I hope to see (and perhaps drop below) that goal weight during participation in this challenge. If I do lose 15 pounds total, I will be within my chart range for being not overweight at all.8

I finished setting everything up and my aunt moved in to a beautiful assisted living apartment yesterday. It was a long and exhausting trip for her and she didn’t take her medicine properly so she was a mess when she arrived. I spent about 6 hours (until 10 at night) getting her settled in and then tucked in. I am worried that after all of this they won’t be able to provide enough care for her in assisted living in the end anyway and we will have to hire further home health care services on top of it, or move her to a nursing home. I am also caring for two even older parents - one with stage 4 lung cancer, the other with lots of mobility, hearing and memory/senility issues. And a full time job. I am barely functional but it could be worse. I am really praying she feels stronger today and starts complaining about things!11 -

Went over calorie/macro goals both days again last weekend and missed 1 day of exercise due to an injury but I did pretty well the rest of the week. Overall I'm pleased that I was still able to lose something. Hoping to do a little better over the holiday weekend.

I also recorded my diet for four days on MFP. I seem to be on target with my calories.
I didn't lose any weight this week. But I feel better since I was moving a lot.
Goals for this week:
Stretch every day in the morning
watch a motivational video each day
no alcohol
use breathing techniques when stressed
record food on MFP8 -
Well my aunt fell and dislocated her knee and broke her hip. She had one procedure last night to put the knee back in place, and is in ICU . She is having a hip replacement as soon as she is stable enough to repair the break. This is disaster upon disaster. And my weight is down (unwanted) to 121.8 which is slightly underweight for me at 5’8-5’9. I was going to hang out with you all for support and accountability on maintenance, but i dont think i am adding to the discussion here since my worries are not being able to eat due to stress and lack of time.11

Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
UGW-122 lbs. I was there in 2009/10 and kept it off for 5 years then got lazy.
My goal is to continue with what seems to work for me. 1000-1200 calories, low carb 15 Net +/- 3(My body seems to not do well with carbs. It doesn't know how to burn them and hangs onto them way too much!), minimum 70 + oz of water, 2 meals/day on my days off(3) and 3 meals on my work days(which are long), exercise on my 3 days off. My weigh in day is Sunday.

9/1/22- 175.2 lbs :-( Its been a bad few months. I've been eating too many carbs, including healthy ones.
9/4/22- 175 lbs Back on the rails. Staying on track better this month so far. Today had a wedding that was planned in 2 weeks for a girl at work. They were going to get married on zoom and in 5-10 minutes of a conversation at a work party 2 weeks ago, it became a work party wedding. We all brought a covered dish and a coworkers husband married them a block from where they live by the river. Very nice. Very hard to calculate calories but I think I did fairly well except for a piece of cake. But you have to sample the cake. Its required! LOL!

09/05-197.0-(Trend Weight: 199.2)- My daughter’s wedding was this past weekend and there was plenty of food. However, I managed to keep portion control in the forefront. And the days leading up to it?.....Well, let’s just say that I wanted to make sure I would fit into my dress! I am happy for the loss, I plan on keeping it.

Not a terrific week as far as my eating went. Consumed 2 - 200g bags of chips, 2 - large chocolate bars, and today ate all 20 of the chewy oat & coconut cookies I baked. The binging is BACK! My issue is that I binge eat....Everything sweet in one sitting which is messing with my blood sugars.
Disappointed with myself, but all I can do is get back on the horse.
Have a good week everyone9 -
I'm Sherri and live in BC. My long term goal is to lose 40Ibs by next September. I know this is feasible but lately I haven't had any luck with losing weight. We have a Ireland trip planned for then. I'm hoping the weight loss will help with my arthritic knees and back so I can enjoy the trip.

Sept. 6 189.2....Oops and I didn't even go to get fair on the weekend but did have a Family dinner on Sunday.
I know I ate too many carbs last week. It is really hard to stay away from them as bread is such a convenient item to grab for breakfast and lunch.8
