    I'm loving my kitchen scales. So much better than making educated guesses. It's got a button you can set it back to zero and then add the next item to your plate.

    My name is Ian and I am a 62 year old male from the Midlands of the UK. I am 6' 0" tall. I have a number of health conditions which prevent me from doing aerobic exercise and I take medication which as a side effect lowers my metabolic rate and increases my feelings of hunger. I can't walk so use a mobility scooter. As a result my weight loss depends totally on calorie intake reduction.

    My initial target is 100kg, to move from obese to simply overweight. I would like to get my waist size below 40" too.

    14/8: 106.3kg (234lbs)
    15/8: 105.1kg
    16/8: 104.3kg
    17/8: 103.9kg (229lbs) Waist 44.5"
    18/8: 104.0kg Calories: 1237 Body Fat: 35.0%
    19/8: 104.1kg Calories: 1238. Body Fat: 34.8%
    20/8: 104.1kg Calories: 1277. Body Fat: 35.1%
    21/8: 104.0kg Calories: 1243. Body Fat: 35.3%

    Keeping within calorie range of 1,200 - 1,300 calories each day, so based on previous experience should see weight loss in time. I'm surprised though at how my weight loss has plateaued after such a good start. Haven't lost anything in almost a week! Started walking a short distant yesterday. Yes, I know, 300 steps?! Trust me, with ME/CFS this is a major achievement!

    Iโ€™ve got my calories and logging under control, my macros somewhat under control, my water intake under control. Now, I want to lower my sodium intake and up my daily step goal! I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and would like some good newsโ€ฆ.I know I have a long way to go but I have to get there some time.

    Yesterday was tough. Worked a silly long shift and ate way under calories. It was time for bed and I was so tired but I still needed to eat 400 calories. Iโ€™m aware this is not a healthy, sustainable way to lose weight. I just couldnโ€™t do it, bed won out. Hoping to make up for it today or just move on.

    However, Iโ€™m on vacation until 8/22! Plans fell through so it is a staycation but I have plenty to do! So happy!
    8/13: 217.5 Increased my step goalโœ… Stayed under my sodium goalโœ… Yesterday was a stellar day, lots of swimming, lots of walking, ate great, went to bed happy! Staycation agrees with me!
    8/14: 217.5 Literally did nothing yesterday. Fed the cats and took two naps. Did not increase my step goalโœ–๏ธ Stayed under my sodium goalโœ…

The weight is coming off which will help with health but I really want to improve my heart health. Iโ€™m going to try harder but itโ€™s already a challenge when you are watching calories, macros, alcohol, sodium, steps, exercise and weight. I donโ€™t want to get burnt out!

The electricians showed up quickly and worked until 11:45 pm at night to get the problem solved which was a whole new electrical box with an upgraded service. Something I was going to do anyway, so why not tie it all up neatly with a bow at once? Grateful for electricity and grateful for water today. My weight, my trend weight and my fat % is exactly the same as yesterday and I was surprised to see that because it was a model day. However, I realized that I did not take the heart-healthy water pill (because of the birthday party) so I probably have fluid built up. Also, I was stuck in the house all day with electricians and stuck sitting in the dark for several hours last night so exercise of any kind was out the window. Slept well though when they finally left. I was exhausted! Iโ€™m ready to lose some weight my friends!

    08/23-201.0-(Trend Weight 200.2)- I forgot to take my meds yesterday in all the reno hupla, so it was too late for the heart-healthy water pill. My feet are pretty bloated and it showed up on the scale. Today Iโ€™ll take my pill for sure and that may give me a more accurate picture of my true weight. Tomorrow I travel to the cardiologist so lunch or dinner will be out but I will really weigh my options! One of my handymen was put in the hospital with either appendix or intestine infection issues. They are still doing testing. Iโ€™m down to one guy and he is the lazier one. But heโ€™s here today putting his 60 to 90 minutes in so I suppose I am supposed to be grateful. No quality sleep last night, so Iโ€™m a bit grumpy as you can see but I do speak truth.

    I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result.     Aug 1 - 172.2 (Back from vacation and feeling good. August is going to be a great month!)
    Aug 2 - 169.6 (Busy first day back to work but stayed positive. Ate well and focused on my step goal.)
    Aug 3 - 167.6 (Dentist after work and then I'll hopefully find time for a Peloton ride or another walk, or both!)
    Aug 4 - 166.2 (Have stress at work. Afterwards I will decompress with some kind of exercise. Last night I chose to do upper body strength as my exercise of choice and it felt great.)
    Aug 5 - 165.8 (Found time to ride the Peloton last night and it felt good. Off to the lake for the weekend as soon as work is done.)
    Aug 6 - 164.6 (Nice sunny day here today. I am going to aim for 10,000 steps which will require 1-2 longer walks around our lakeside trailer park. We have a bigger dinner tonight my husband is making for our trailer friends.)
    Aug 7 - 165.8 (Yesterday I underperformed on my fitness and food plans so the return to the higher weight is completely expected. Tonight we return from the lake and have supper with friends before heading home.)
    Aug 8 - 167 (Yesterday we came back from the lake, walked to and from a friend's house for a pizza supper, and then I did some yoga and strength. A good day.)

    Aug 10 - 167.6 (Having some tough days at work and feeling the stress. Had a good day of food and exercise today. One day at a time!)

    Aug 13 - 164 (Had an unexpected late night due to some concerns with my dog.. she's fine but I definitely slept in this morning. My husband is going for a long bike ride as he's training for a Gran Fondo so the dog and I will be hanging at our trailer. Will try to get her out for a few short walks before it gets too hot.)
    Aug 14 - 163.8 (Feels good to see my second day in a row in my maintenance range since I got back from holidays. I planned my food well yesterday and got my 10K steps. My husband leaves from the lake to head north for a business trip this evening so my Mom is coming out for a BBQ and visit and then I'll go back home with her.)
    Aug 15 - 165.2 (My husband is away on business so it feels quiet. I plan to walk my dog before work today as it'll be a hot day. Will get my activity off on the right foot!)
    Aug 16 - 164.4 (Rode the Peloton last night and did some healthy cooking. Pre-prepped a breakfast
    smoothie that was a tasty start to my day. Lots of fibre today!)
    Aug 17 - 164.6 (Beautiful sunny day here. Work is busy, one foot in front of the other. Got pulled into an unexpected work meeting and missed my lunch time walk. Tonight I have to get a cavity filled at the dentist and then I'll be able to go out for my walk.)
    Aug 18 - 166.8 (Busy day at work as I'm off tomorrow and have lots of meetings. Also have a doctor's appointment at lunch so I'll be walking there and back. Step count should be decent when I get home but I still expect my dog will need a walk unless my husband finds a window to get her out before I get home.)
    Aug 19 - 167.8 (Today was truly special. I had the day off and my hot air balloon ride that my husband gifted me on our wedding day finally went ahead. We then went to the mountains and biked 70 KM or so... just had so much fun.)

    Aug 21 - 167.8 (Fun day at the lake with a short dog walk and then we returned home and went out to dinner with a friend. Feeling busy for sure.)
    Aug 22 - 164.8 (Today was off to a good start and I got a walk in with my dog at lunch but we had an event at work near the end of the day and I ended up putting in a couple extra hours. I have been so busy lately and it's definitely my exercise that's being sacrificed. I don't have any choice as something has to give. Doesn't change my maintenance strategy as I eat my exercise calories so it just means they get pared back accordingly.)
    Aug 23 - 164 (Slowly seeing my trend weight come back down. I had two meals out today so I had to be smart about my choices. Work is still busy but I got my 10K steps in. Woot!)

    I had a carb blowout yesterday - had the munchies and scoffed down two bowls of cereal, a bag of gummies and a choc bar. So Iโ€™ve used up my calories for today which means a fast day today. I don't record my unwanted calories from yesterday but carried them forward to today :-(

    Yesterday was tough. Worked a silly long shift and ate way under calories. It was time for bed and I was so tired but I still needed to eat 400 calories. Iโ€™m aware this is not a healthy, sustainable way to lose weight. I just couldnโ€™t do it, bed won out. Hoping to make up for it today or just move on.

    However, Iโ€™m on vacation until 8/22! Plans fell through so it is a staycation but I have plenty to do! So happy!

The weight is coming off which will help with health but I really want to improve my heart health. Iโ€™m going to try harder but itโ€™s already a challenge when you are watching calories, macros, alcohol, sodium, steps, exercise and weight. I donโ€™t want to get burnt out!

    Aug 2 - 169.6 (Busy first day back to work but stayed positive. Ate well and focused on my step goal.)
    Aug 3 - 167.6 (Dentist after work and then I'll hopefully find time for a Peloton ride or another walk, or both!)
    Aug 4 - 166.2 (Have stress at work. Afterwards I will decompress with some kind of exercise. Last night I chose to do upper body strength as my exercise of choice and it felt great.)
    Aug 5 - 165.8 (Found time to ride the Peloton last night and it felt good. Off to the lake for the weekend as soon as work is done.)
    Aug 6 - 164.6 (Nice sunny day here today. I am going to aim for 10,000 steps which will require 1-2 longer walks around our lakeside trailer park. We have a bigger dinner tonight my husband is making for our trailer friends.)
    Aug 7 - 165.8 (Yesterday I underperformed on my fitness and food plans so the return to the higher weight is completely expected. Tonight we return from the lake and have supper with friends before heading home.)
    Aug 8 - 167 (Yesterday we came back from the lake, walked to and from a friend's house for a pizza supper, and then I did some yoga and strength. A good day.)

    Aug 13 - 164 (Had an unexpected late night due to some concerns with my dog.. she's fine but I definitely slept in this morning. My husband is going for a long bike ride as he's training for a Gran Fondo so the dog and I will be hanging at our trailer. Will try to get her out for a few short walks before it gets too hot.)
    Aug 14 - 163.8 (Feels good to see my second day in a row in my maintenance range since I got back from holidays. I planned my food well yesterday and got my 10K steps. My husband leaves from the lake to head north for a business trip this evening so my Mom is coming out for a BBQ and visit and then I'll go back home with her.)
    Aug 15 - 165.2 (My husband is away on business so it feels quiet. I plan to walk my dog before work today as it'll be a hot day. Will get my activity off on the right foot!)
    Aug 16 - 164.4 (Rode the Peloton last night and did some healthy cooking. Pre-prepped a breakfast
    smoothie that was a tasty start to my day. Lots of fibre today!)
    Aug 17 - 164.6 (Beautiful sunny day here. Work is busy, one foot in front of the other. Got pulled into an unexpected work meeting and missed my lunch time walk. Tonight I have to get a cavity filled at the dentist and then I'll be able to go out for my walk.)
    Aug 18 - 166.8 (Busy day at work as I'm off tomorrow and have lots of meetings. Also have a doctor's appointment at lunch so I'll be walking there and back. Step count should be decent when I get home but I still expect my dog will need a walk unless my husband finds a window to get her out before I get home.)
    Aug 19 - 167.8 (Today was truly special. I had the day off and my hot air balloon ride that my husband gifted me on our wedding day finally went ahead. We then went to the mountains and biked 70 KM or so... just had so much fun.)

    Aug 21 - 167.8 (Fun day at the lake with a short dog walk and then we returned home and went out to dinner with a friend. Feeling busy for sure.)
    Aug 22 - 164.8 (Today was off to a good start and I got a walk in with my dog at lunch but we had an event at work near the end of the day and I ended up putting in a couple extra hours. I have been so busy lately and it's definitely my exercise that's being sacrificed. I don't have any choice as something has to give. Doesn't change my maintenance strategy as I eat my exercise calories so it just means they get pared back accordingly.)
    Aug 23 - 164 (Slowly seeing my trend weight come back down. I had two meals out today so I had to be smart about my choices. Work is still busy but I got my 10K steps in. Woot!)
    Aug 24 - 163.6 (Love these sections where the weight is slowly dropping down. I have been back in my maintenance range for three days now. I am going on holiday again in just over a week so I'm focused on losing as much as I can before then.)

    8/17: 185 lbs Well back to my August start weight. Finally put to rest an item not so pleasant that happened in March 2021. I didn't think about it every day but it was always in the back of my mind. Roof being reshingled and another item checked off. Nothing to do about calorie intake but deals with my emotions that is a catalyst.
    8/24: 184.5 lbs. Small dip into the right right direction. Been off the radar because I am scared ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐Ÿ˜จ to step on the scale. My daily accountability has been lacking.

My feet are pretty bloated and it showed up on the scale. Today Iโ€™ll take my pill for sure and that may give me a more accurate picture of my true weight. Tomorrow I travel to the cardiologist so lunch or dinner will be out but I will really weigh my options! One of my handymen was put in the hospital with either appendix or intestine infection issues. They are still doing testing. Iโ€™m down to one guy and he is the lazier one. But heโ€™s here today putting his 60 to 90 minutes in so I suppose I am supposed to be grateful. No quality sleep last night, so Iโ€™m a bit grumpy as you can see but I do speak truth.

    08/24-200.6-(Trend Weight 200.3)- I forgot to pull the water pill from the day beforeโ€™s cubby (because I forgot to take it the day before) so now I am several days without it. Canโ€™t take it today because I am traveling to cardiologist. My weight is up (probably related) from starting point by 0.4 and that is a disappointment. Iโ€™ll take it for sure tomorrow and I will watch my dinner out today! I hate when I canโ€™t get my steps in when that is just about the only exercise I am approved for right now!

    @joans1976 Lol thanks, I tend to copy and paste from the day before so I don't have to type it out again! The Quote button is very helpful for keeping formatting, I just remove the quote coding from the beginning and end.
    Rest assured, I didn't lose that much "real" weight overnight! I had been carrying some water retention for a while and my body decided to release it all at once. I was as surprised as anyone to see that drop off in one day! Just another reminder of why I weigh every day, imagine working hard on health all week and seeing a gain, you'd think it wasn't worth the work - but by weighing every day I'd see that gain happened overnight so it clearly would be water weight, not fat! My aim is for fat loss, really, the actual number on the scale doesn't matter so much!

    My name is Ian and I am a 62 year old male from the Midlands of the UK. I am 6' 0" tall. I have a number of health conditions which prevent me from doing aerobic exercise and I take medication which as a side effect lowers my metabolic rate and increases my feelings of hunger. I can't walk so use a mobility scooter. As a result my weight loss depends totally on calorie intake reduction.

    My initial target is 100kg, to move from obese to simply overweight. I would like to get my waist size below 40" too.
