What are all of you doing to lose weight on MFP? I'm 5'3", and 65. I've been eating between 1,000 and 1200 calories. I walk about 4 miles a day or go to a cardio class. I'm losing about 1 lb a week.
The 1,000 calories give me some leeway if I'm not tracking accurately.3 -
@GoRun2 what is your weight now? That is going to effect how fast you lose. Also, do you weigh your food? 1 lb a week is great! Tracking accurately is important, but you are losing weight so you are doing right.1

I'm 5'3" and 38yo. On the right side of the photo I weigh 132lbs, was eating 1200 calories daily and doing lots of cardio. Photo on the left I weigh 135lbs, eat anywhere from 1850-2000 calories daily, switched to weightlifting instead of daily cardio sessions.

Wow! What a difference. I've been weightlifting since January. Hope to get the same results. Good work!3 -

So *that's* how you move the volume from the front to the back! I lost my butt (flat as a pancake now), but I still have a pouch on my abdomen. Great job!3 -
I'm 5'1" & 47 years old (almost 48). I began my journey doing only cardio and Paleo but really what I needed was the regimen. The strictness and rules. I don't do well with *just a little bit* thinking..That's how I got to 196 lbs at my heaviest. My plan has evolved over the years. Now I'm lowish carb and mostly lift weights.
I cannot stress enough what lifting will do for your physique. I highly recommend it if you're able to do it safely.
My gym routine:
Lift weights 3-4 days per week
Zumba 1-2 times per wk
walk on the treadmill around 15-30 mins 2-3 a week. Sometimes longer if both squat racks/leg press are taken
Body flow (Tai chi / pilates) 1 x week
Below picture: 196lbs @ my heaviest and 130lbs currently

I love your results! How long did it take you to recomp?

You are looking so good! The last few seem the hardest but it is well worth sticking to it !2

It took me a while to get to post the 'I'm done dieting' before and after. I did post a face before and after when I was close to done. I have been in maintenance for almost 2 months. So far so good. I was 175 - 180ish to start and now 125. I am 5'1 and 47. Now I am working on increasing my strength - I have been doing lighter weights for quite a while but time to pick it up I think.
