idk you’d have to dry the hide and beat and condition it and it just seems like a lot of work, when we could easily sit it the dark and drink chianti

The point for me is : last time I was here some crazy internet person was stealing a few people's profile pictures and was pretending to be them. I don't trust people.2 -

I agree with you though, I don't think knowing someone's gender on here really matters. I understand being interested in how someone identifies, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't make a difference (unless you're trying to get nudes that have particular goods on display, like you said)
For me conversation is conversation.
It probably helps that I can flirt with a lamp post without knowing its gender or biological sex.
