What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for almost 5 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE👍👍 Round 204
My goal is to lower my blood pressure through weight loss and exercise, so what I eat, and when, is a major focus for me. I am trying to use a heart healthy diet while intermittent fasting, which helps to take care of my mindless snacking in the evening. I am limiting my alcohol to social occasions only.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating, exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
time, effort, and most of all, patience!

11/03 - 160.2 lbs. Did one hour of crossfit. Felt so fatigued and out-of-fuel that I chose to eat 200 calories above my goal to make room for more carbs today. I need restitution tomorrow. Think this is my 6th or 7th day without a rest day. Feeling FOMO as I won’t be signing up for the gym tomorrow 😅 I would love to go, but my body says NO 😂11/04

11/04: 111.3kg Today I helped out with my sisters kids again. I was excited to have a few extra calories, but having a few nibbles here and there really threw out my calorie deficit. I had chicken on rice from a sushi place, had half a crossiant, jam on bread, crackers and a few other things. I was very hungry all day, possibly from my period. I got over 10,000 steps but it wasn't enough to make up for all the extra eating I did. There was also quite a bit of guesswork so I've either done better or worse than calculated. My treadmill was set up, but it started making angry noises after I had plugged it in for a few hours. I really wish I could go to the gym or something. It's daylight savings but I don't feel like going for a third walk.

Previous Day's Comments11/03: 109.8kg Today was okay. I spent the first half of the day feeling sick, but had cheered up and felt refreshed and well again by the afternoon. I walked the dog for the first time in four days. I experianced a new low weight, the lowest this year and in the last five years. I had three bad days (calorie wise) in the last ten day challenge and learned that you can still lose weight when you made one or two bad decisions. I thought I went over like 6,000 calories each day but I was obviously wrong. I got my period for the first time in over six months which was a bit of a bummer. Also learned that my cousin has moved nearby, so I have a possible walking and coffee buddy. He's also a chef, so that's fun.

It's daylight savings but I don't feel like going for a third walk.

64 yr young F, 5ft 4 Round 203 (my 135th). As always, thank you. @QuiltingJaine.
That's the last 0.2 pound of holiday weight gain gone. Now to move on to the weight that crepy on before I went! I'd like to lose a pound this round.
No binges, keep within calories & macros.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. Healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

I'M WORTH IT !!
ムヘThis is NOT A DIET. It’s a PERMANENT HEALTHY LIFESTYLE?゚ムヘ5 -
I got care free in maintenance and the scale went up one lb at a time. Now I’m turning it around one lb at a time.
2016- 245lbs
2019- 142lbs
9/12/22- 185lbs
11/3- 178.2
11/4- 179 Ate a late dinner but I’m optimistic I can make some progress this round. Emotionally I’m happy with my body because I am very fit at this weight but I know what I’m capable of when I’m lower. I do not want to diet aggressively, that is not sustainable for me. I am constantly working in my head the difference between health and weird social norms of the ideal body. Be kind to yourself and celebrate a nonscale victory!5 -

Felt rotten after my dad refused to walk with me after dinner. Went out and bought a step up stool and some yoga mats. Did about five minutes of step ups and a one minute plank. Gotta whip this body into shape! Also started Christmas shopping. I wanted to buy a treat because I ended the day badly but didn't want to further sabotage myself. It's my cheat day tomorrow, so hopefully having pancakes for lunch then pizza for dinner. I'm having dinner with my friend and she wants me to take snacks so I'm a bit stumped. Maybe some carrots/cucumber and guac? So, so used to eating junk food all the time, I'm not "that" friend.5

/mowing & leaf pick-up over my noon hour/ Two days ago I weighed almost 4 pounds more. It was he aftermath of a careless weekend, too much salt and not enough TMI. So this drop is not a great accomplishment. None the less, I am happy to see it.
I logged my food yesterday for the first time in a while. I must confess, when MFP took the barcode scanner away from “the unwashed” such as myself, it took a little bit of the shine off the app.

. . .having a few nibbles here and there really threw out my calorie deficit. I had chicken on rice from a sushi place, had half a crossiant, jam on bread, crackers and a few other things. I was very hungry all day, possibly from my period.
When I was your age, or younger, I ate a similar super high carb diet - starting with toast or cereal in the morning with my kids. That spiked my insulin which soon plummeted and I was hungry again so ate more carbs. Up and down with “sugar” boosts and drops. Your body converts those carbs to sugar. Over the long haul, this is not good for your body. Eat protein snacks - hard boiled eggs? Hard cheese such as cheddar? They don’t peak your insulin like carbs and satisfy longer. Last round was my first and I just jumped in. I figure I will give a little bit of who I am as we start this round
Female, 41
Work full time ED RN (3 12 hour shifts per week). Full time grad student (NP) which puts me in clinics 2-3 days per week 10 hours each day. Plus I have homework that I have to do.
**I graduate in 42 days!!
I found that in order for me to be physically active it starts at 4:15am. At first I hated it but now after a couple weeks if I skip it for an extra hour of sleep I find that I can think as clear and I am dragging most of the day. I have also found meal planning and prepping is essential! I just am not great at winging it for food as I find myself saying yes to all the things and seconds please.

11/4-168-Spent the day cooking and cleaning. Did the meal prep (and froze) for MIL’s 80th birthday lunch on Sunday and I leave for a quilting retreat Monday. I am running errands and then packing my car for the retreat. I also cleaned my sewing room last night. More plants to plant. Too muddy to ride the horse; he has been running around like a maniac in this cool air.7 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/03 - 176.2
I went for a nice long walk in the woods yesterday, but on the way back to my car I tripped over a crazy bunch of grass and fell. Skinned and bruised my right palm, and my left knee has a big colorful lump. I’m fine, just tender, and trying to figure out how I landed on opposite limbs! But the woods were lovely, full of crunchy leaves and that wonderful fragrance of fall. Today I’m off to hang out at the dog show, see friends, smooch dogs. Have a great day, everyone!
11/04 - 176.4
I had a lovely time yesterday hanging out at the dog show, seeing friends, some I see all the time, some from other places I see only occasionally, and playing with dogs. A friend from Indianapolis whom I met on a train in 2011 was here showing her dog, and came for dinner, which was lovely. And in spite of the lobster ravioli with olive oil and Parmesan, a little wine, and a piece of lemon pound cake, I stayed under calories for the day. (No lunch.) I also go lots of steps walking around the Coliseum for 3+ hours! I’m writing today but plan to spend most of tomorrow at the show, trying to figure out what kind of dog I want next, which is weight-related since I get a lot more exercise when I’m playing with a dog! 😁

Day/Weight/Comment
11/02 …..198.0….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/03 -199.6- (Trend weight 199.9) Worked hard in the yard again yesterday and stayed in a calorie deficit so this is just the expected bloat from around my ankles and abdomen. Today is DD#2 birthday. She’s working today but we may have a small celebration tonight. I’ll watch it. I hate being (and staying) so close to the 200 mark even if a couple of pounds is usually the water retention. I hate starting this round feeling like I’ve got to battle just to get back to starting weight, even if I’m just battling the fluid build-up. I’ll try to stay positive and focus on the plusses. I do feel better in my clothes.
11/04 -200.2- (Trend weight 199.9) Did my post not post yesterday? Hmph….. I’m still bloated. I had a great day of thoughtful meals and burned plenty of calories in the yard. I did binge last night on about 15 mini pixie sticks (I found them after I thought I got rid of all the candy with the grands). But mini pixies should not have been too many calories so I’m thinking it’s just the bloat. Plenty of sleep last night which is a rarity.

Please join us starting on 11/3 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 204!
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.
