Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for all those those who need them, especially those in unsatisfying relationships. It can be so wearing.

I love this supportive group of wonderful friends. Thank you for being in my life.
Well I wont say I ate wonderful.. but I stayed under calories today.. drinking my water.. im craving something now.. i could have my last Sumo orange.. rather than a cup of hot cocoa with whip cream I really want lol..4
kite16509 welcome. You will find support and good ideas here. We share on this thread rather than adding friends. I read this thread every morning while I eat my breakfast to get encouragement for my day

Today I wrote some pen pal letters, fed my sourdough starter on my counter, balanced the check book paid bills, watch the latest episode of "Last Of Us", changed bedding, yelled at a telemarketer, and made some chicken stock with some pasta and the last bits of my roasted chicken from the freezer. I also decided to unfollow lots of my FB groups, games and all people that aren't immediate family. I just need to not hold this tablet. My hands are hurting, and my tendons in my hands are achy. But all that I have added, I am just a click away on Messenger.👍🏻💖
Pip What Katla said about booties might be a good idea. I used them on Shep in the winter and extreme heat in Arizona. I actually got them in Minnesota for the cold weather. But they worked nicely in Arizona for that extreme heat on the sidewalk and blacktop. He looked really funny the first time I put them on his feet. He was high Steppin, like crazy but got used to them really quickly.3
Thanks for the many birthday wishes. I am looking forward to the time spent in SoCal. It should be fun and relaxing.
Spent time today getting things organized and the guest room prepped for the house and critter sitter.
Pip- sorry Lucy is continuing to have problems with the bleeding.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA5
Good evening ladies!
Pip sorry about Lucy bleeding.
I did 30 mins of yoga and 30 mins of aerobic walking. Yay! I can feel it in my ankles today. Human bodies are so inconsistent!
I'm in a good mood because I finally heard from a friend. He has cancer, and I had started fearing the worst, but nope. He is still kicking. Yay!

Worked today but since I only go in for a little bit tomorrow, the plan is to do Xtrain Low Impact HIIT DVD. Then in the afternoon we are going to prebowl 3 games, have lunch at the bowling alley (I’ve already decided I’ll have a turkey sandwich but I may take a skinny with me so I don’t have all that bread) then prebowl 3 more games.
Went to WalMart. We only needed a few things but I wanted to get frozen fruit for dessert
Not sure of my steps as my pedometer died (needed new battery)
Told Jerry today that I’d take him home if he joined AA. He said some stuff, something about how he hadn’t had a drink today and he doesn’t have an open container. Doesn’t matter, he needs to get his drinking under control and until that happens, I won’t be driving him home.
Looks like we have the last of the christmas trees de-decorated. The plan for Friday is to put things away in the garage (after the soup kitchen)
Lanette – thank you for that calculator. Barbara – how are you doing on it?
Anne DE – I was always brought up with the “clean plate” mentality. How I’m trying to break that! I think a lot of it is due to the fact that my grandmother, in essence, raised me. She raised her family during the depression and at that time NOTHING was wasted.
Rita – I’m right there with you. Easy to gain and real hard to lose (but it can be done)
Mary – glad you got back
Allie – Barbara couldn’t have said it any better. Just what was in my heart, just not in my fingers typing
kite – welcome. Please don’t feel bad if people on here don’t send you friend requests. Most of us come here and chat. You’ll get great ideas
Susandol – you SHOULD be proud. I know I am
Had Newcomer bowling tonight
Yay Susandoll! Great job!
Michele yes our parents were Depression babies and absolutely did not waste food. My grandmother once made marmalade with salt instead of sugar by mistake, and kept the mess for a week trying to somehow use it. It's funny now, but back then she had ten mouths to feed and precious little money.
I ate the last of the salmon today so it wouldn't go to waste. Not only cleaning my plate, but the serving platter as well. Well, knowing is the first step.

kymarai Posts: 3,148 MemberTo whoever recommended the book "A Complaint Free World". WOW! Thank you! I am learning lots! Working with family brings its own set of issues as you are all aware of since I have mentioned them a time or two. Yesterday we had a significant Toro order delivered followed by a LARGE Stihl order delivered today. I know that my DH gets frustrated when the spring orders start coming in. It happens every year. So far I have managed to stay out of the fray this year until today. He had information wrong, but wouldn't be quiet long enough for me to explain. I just shut up because it really wasn't that important and really minor. The next time he asked me something, I couldn't give him the answer because his sister as all that information and she wasn't there today. He just went on and on. I kept my mouth shut and brain working on a solution. When we got home, I was able to implement that solution, then explained to him how in the future, I will be able to answer that question for him. There was a third issue, but that one I resolved quickly while at work. I had to get some parts into inventory plus 220 pieces of equipment put in the system with model/serial/description/ and price. That was just Stihl. I still need to do Toro, but not as urgent. I am pleased that I found solutions to 2 of the situations! I really only complained once then shut up as it made more sense to find a solution.
Venison vegetable soup with dinner rolls for dinner tonight. It was so yummy! I don't think my DH slowed down once he started eating. He said I need to make it more often. It was a first for me.
Finishing up January list from Carla
25 Spend time with a loved one- I spend lots of time with DH!
26 When was the last time you felt pure joy? When my oldest Granddaughter opened her gift at Christmas and cried tears of joy!
27 Hold the door for a stranger... or a friend- Every day whenever I have a chance
28 What fear have you overcome? Driving our GT500. The day on the track in the rain gave me much needed confidence.
29 Engage in a random act of kindness of your own choice-Giving hugs to those in need.
30 When was the last time you laughed so hard you almost peed? When I came home last night and all of my bears had grabbed the candy bowl and taken it to the bed! My bears get into all sorts of mischief!
31 Now try to "meditate" (sit in silence) for ten minutes... I will try this tomorrow. I will be asleep tonight if I try.
Feel Good Calendar
February 1- Five things accomplished this year.
1) Drove the Charlotte motor speedway and learned about our GT500 (my anxiety was bad!)
2) Made a new friend when I needed her most
3) I cleaned out closets and donated lots of stuffs
4) I hauled my Miata on a trailer up the mountains in Pigeon Forge
5) I learned to back up a trailer! Not perfect, but much better!
Time got away from me. Need to get to bed. I know tomorrow will be a late night, but am excited to watched youngest granddaughter dance and spend time with my Kentucky family.
Hugs to all because we all can use them!
Congratulations on the losses and good health news!
Safety and fun for those traveling!
High Fives to all of you for being the supportive group you are!
Kylia in Ohio where it was cold but the sunshine was wonderful!
Ps: A for arms ‐ counter pushups, unloading mowers, and carrying boxes.7
Michele-I was brought up to clean your plate too. I still do BUT I have changed one thing. I only use small dishes. I use the dishes that I would for my daycare kids. My Tupperware is perfect size- Luncheon plates, snack cups, etc.
The only time I use a large bowl is when I make myself a salad. I am very careful with my dressings but I eat a HUGE salad. The only time I really fill up.2
Went for my walk around the wetlands. A little shorter than usual because I went with dh to Lowes- he needed some bark/mulch. We found a bunch of broken bags of the one he wanted that were only $2 each instead of over $5 each. Also got a bag of potting soil for me(also broken bag- $4)
He was in a little better mood but still not feeling good plus irritated with our neighbor who is parking in a way that I can't park my car there along with theirs. They are new there after 30yrs of us being able to just park in the whole spot(other neighbor who owns it but has since moved into rest home never parked there). We may have to start parking a second car at his mom's or I will park across the street.
I wrote a note and left it on their windshield to ask if they could please move up just a few feet so we could both fit there. Left it there yesterday. They are still parking the same way(she works nights, he works days, and have 5 cars. We have four, five when son's girlfriend comes over(plus one at MIL's)
Talked with my aunt this evening. Told her I was going to go see her Sunday. We are both really looking forward to it. Not putting off things like this- I did it once before and still regret it.
Having some cinnamon tea before going to bed. Will take a melatonin or something.
This was my sleep from last night- I thought I did pretty good, better than most nights, but I guess not. I woke up a lot but for short amounts of time, instead of for hours at a time.
Well for the life of me I can't sleep.. ive taken melatonin, all my meds tossed and turned ,got up and puttered and read for a little bit ,im going see if I can finally settle down..and get some rest sheesh ...lol5
I love Feb. because it's only 28 days! That's 28 days I will stay 100% on my meal plan!!5
Pip— You are excellent at caring for your dogs. It is clear how well you take care of them. Sorry that Lucy was bleeding during the walk. Long ago we put flexible leather booties on our dog when we went out for walks. DH made them. Schooner was comfortable with them on long walks. I miss him. ❤️
I have a couple of dog boots that I tried on her, but they didn’t fit, not the right size, been researching on a brand that I’m thinking of getting for her6

As far as the blacktop and cement, during the summer we start walking pretty early so we are back home by 8 am so the heat wouldn’t be an issue on Yogi’s paw pads (and now the other two). The bleeding is not bad at all,but it’s there and once I notice it, she goes in the stroller for the rest of the time. The bummer is she doesn’t like walking on the grass when we are walking by it. She only gets on there to pee and poop.4
