Hi all, I'm glad to be back for another month of this great challenge, thanks so much @jm216

I really want to ramp up my efforts this month and try and make some headway, as I've been slacking the last few months and trudging along. My birthday at the end of August is my target to get my trend weight to 140lbs, which is 6.4lbs away, so I need to FOCUS! I have a trip away for the last 9 days of this month so my challenge is to try to get to 144lbs by then, 1.6lbs in 20 days. It's going to be tough, my body can be very stubborn when it comes to weight loss, but I'm going to try and hit my goals every day.

    1: 198.8 Happy June 1st!!
    2: 199.4
    3: 197.8
    4: 197.5
    5: 198.7
    6: 198.5
    7: 198.2
8: 199.1- busy week. Had the roof of our house replaced, had our facia boards wrapped in aluminum to keep the carpenter bees away… and getting new gutters this Tuesday. Luckily it was all hands on deck with the puppies. My son had to carry Nova outside over the roof debris to use the bathroom. She’s getting so big!!
    9: 198.5
    10: 198.1
    11: 198.4
12: 199.4…time to stop the creep back. My Father-in-Law’s 85th celebration was great. He is currently building a canoe in his workshop. I just love how active he is. I overindulged in cookies and birthday cake though and tonight we’re having a work dinner at a restaurant in Ann Arbor. I just have to keep it in check. No alcohol tonight since I’m such a light weight with drinks and I have a 45-60 minute drive home. Plus, alcohol makes me sleepy. Happy Monday!

@deepwoodslady - I feel ya! It was family day at our Girls Rugby game yesterday and my husband took pictures of me and my girls. Since I am a coach and never able to take pictures, I saw myself at many angles in the pictures he took. If I only had some big boobs to balance my big belly!

@jm216 - I am glad your FIL's celebration went well and I hope you enjoyed your work dinner.

There are so many of you on here demonstrating great progress! Congrats and keep up what you are doing! And to those of you like me, congrats on continuing to create new healthy habits and showing up for yourself everyday! While I cannot seem to get the scale to move in the right direction, my blood pressure is fantastic and I have more endurance and strength in my legs!

That's fantastic that your blood pressure is great and you have more endurance! That's more important than a number on a scale and besides that will go in the direction you want as you continue to make progress. Great job on getting into the 180's!

06/11-196.8-(Trend Weight 195,.9)- My DD’s 40th birthday BBQ bash was really nice. However, the pics of me look Horrible! Not at all what I see in the mirror. I even googled why I look thinner and younger and better in the mirror than I do in pics and got a whole lot of answers. Angle of camera lens, lighting, etc. However, everyone else in the pics look the same as usual, it’s just me! Ugh. I’ve got a lot of work to do. I’m not exactly surprised, I just didn’t realize it was this much. Good luck everyone this round. I know I’m gonna need it!

06/12-197.0-(Trend Weight 196.0)- I’m traveling today to a GM dealership to get the recalls done on my truck (an oil change too). I’ll make an appointment for the Ford soon for its recalls. I just want to take care of all that pesky stuff while the weather and roads are good. I’ll keep lunch light. I’m feeling pretty bloated today. A small uptick on the scale which is probably fair due to leftovers I ate yesterday.

@BittersweetVita That is such a great attitude! Well done on the blood pressure and leg strength; it is not just the scales that can measure success! I hope you have a good Monday and can find some productive and positive ways to fill your day.

@ddainiak No, I didn't sign up for the next term at Hogwart's. I have too much to do to get ready for my son's visit and then there would be overlap once he is here, which definitely would not happen! Plus, my knee is not being very cooperative, so exercise would be difficult, at least my preferred exercise of walking. Congratulations on getting your 25,000 steps in one day badge!! That is harder than it sounds! I have done it twice, but the first time I was hiking in Yosemite and the second time I was in Vegas, so two pretty easy places to get it done!

@joans1976 I am hoping your mood has evened out for you. A positive, even mood is definitely a benefit in trying to lose weight!

@Buckeyebabe7l7 What a fantastic weigh-in! All those steps are paying off for you!!

I went to another wedding shower for my nephew's fiancee on Saturday. I didn't go crazy, but it did get me out of my routine. I was not going to have much, or anything for supper, but I ended up eating two of my husband's Popeye's chicken strips. (He was comped three extra strips for a slow kitchen). Then I had a cupcake that I brought home from the shower. I was only going to bring two things of dessert home for my husband, but the hostess gave me a full plate because she had so much left over. After my husband went to bed, I got into his corn chips and his cheese curds. That was the most concerning of all. I don't really like corn chips and I don't feel great when I eat too much cheese (I guess no one really does), so my choosing them is a behaviour that needs to be changed. A little bit of the same behaviour on Sunday, but overall fewer calories. I was also feeling a bit sorry for myself as my knee was quite sore...so much for "feeling a bit better"! On the flip side, I have a bit of an external motivator now. At the shower, the three of us were talking, and my SIL told my MIL that she needs to lose a few more pounds to make her dress fit better and my MIL said that she had noticed that she had lost a few. No one has noticed my weight loss. To be fair, I am wearing the exact same clothes still and they are not fitted and I have only lost roughly 13 pounds. I think the number "they" say that others start to notice your loss is higher than that, but my motivator is a notice from my MIL!!

Hello, I'm Darlene. I'm 62. I Married, and have one kid (28) and one pup (Monty), no grandkids. I have been retired since 2020. My husband was retired, but returned to work in January. I vowed to take this year to lose weight, get healthy, give up some bad habits, exercise, read more, etc. Back again this month! Thanks again Jill!

    June Goals
    Lose 4 pounds ⚖️
Log 175+ Miles on Fitbit 🏃‍♂️
Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily 💦

    May Loss - 5.2 Pounds
    May Ending weight: 194.8
Total weight lost to date: 32.2 Pounds
Goal Weight - 160 (May change as I get closer)

June 1 - 194.4 - My lowest weight in May was 194.2 - so not cheering yet.
    June 2 - 194 😁
    June 3 - 193.2 😁
June 4 - 193 😁 - Very happy with this, went out for lunch yesterday, so expected to see a rise!
    June 5 - 192.6 😁

    June 9 - 191.8 ☹️ I guess I shouldn't be that unhappy - I had a lot of smiles lately.
Jun 10 - 192.8 ☹️ Took the day off yesterday. First day since Mid March that I was over my calorie limit. The old me would say - "You go off your diet one day and you gain it all back; why bother"; the new me says "Let's hit the next fitbit badge today to make up for it". Woke up early - got a mile on the treadmill. Hoping I can beat my "best in a day" today and get that next badge.
Jun 11 - 192.8 😁 Well got that badge yesterday; 25,789 steps! My goal is to only use 1/2 of calories gained by exercise, did that. Drank all my water. I also rmet the 1,000 miles in 2023 milestone. I will be over halfway there today. So, I took a smile today. Somethings gotta happen! Maybe there will be a big swish tomorrow.
Jun 12 - :| 192.4 Not a big swish, but at least I'm down from yesterday.
Jun 13 - 191.8 :| Making my way back slowly but surely.

@HASWLRS I am a hypricite, but don't beat yourself up. Don't look back at the bad days, look back at how far you have come. You got this. Those around you won't notice the change, they see you too often. I also think that when you start wearing clothes that fit, it will be more noticiable too. The only person that asked me if I was losing weight was my friend from Florida who was up for a visit. She hadn't seen me since November. Not a word from those around me, or those that I see once a week.
