Tough week fell sick and feel like I am gravitating towards carbs- downed a chocolate croissant and ate some fried stuff. I want to be gentle and forgiving with myself but I feel the guilt coming in.

Quite pleased with that as all the walking on holiday counteracted all the eating out on holiday!
Probably won’t reach my monthly goal but I think I got off lightly in the circumstances.

My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall.

    Start Weight (from June 30, 2023 ): 198.2
Goal Weight: (5 pound loss) 193.2

    End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)

Mini challenge: My monthly goal is always about 5 pounds per month. HOWEVER, I never seem to make that. I will continue to keep that goal because it Should Be achievable (even though it is not for me) but never say never, right? So, Between Independence Day Holiday (July 4th) and Labor Day Holiday (Sept 4th) I will weigh somewhere, ANYWHERE in the 180’s. I don’t care if it’s on the brim. I’ve got to start getting further away from the 200’s again! Starting Weight on 7/4 is 195.4.

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

07/01-197.8-(Trend Weight: 197.4)- Today I am celebrating my son’s 27th birthday and my oldest grandson’s 17th birthday who were born on the same day. There will be food that is out-of-plan so the key will be portion control. A new month always feels so hopeful. I’m starting with a small drop on the scale which feels even better. Let’s make July a banner month, my friends! Good luck to everyone on your individual goals. Happy Canada Day to our Canadian friends.

07/08-195.8-(Trend Weight: 196.7)- A nice drop since the start of July. I’ve already went through a holiday and two birthdays and some travel since the 1st of July so I’ll call myself proud so far…… Trend weight has been looking good too. I am on a new personal challenge for myself. It is listed at the top in red. On paper it is very do-able. In reality, um….well…..hmm…. Losing it is hard enough but keeping it, well…. That’s just a whole other ball of wax, now isn’t it? But I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I’ve got to focus on inching that scale down in a healthy and sustainable way.

07/15-196.8[/color=blue-(Trend Weight: 196.4)- The week’s weight has been up and down as is reflected in my lower trend weight. I don’t have a lot of plans this week for right now. If it stays quiet and there is not a lot of out-of-town traveling, I just might get somewhere healthier this week. My cravings for sweets has been rough and I’m failing A LOT of the time.

07/22-195.6-(Trend Weight: 197.0)- It’s been a bit up & down all week (as reflected in my trend weight) but overall I am down from last week by 1.2 lbs. I haven’t had to travel for most of it and that always helps. However, I am still plagued by the incredible sweet cravings and I wonder if my artificial sweetners in my tea (monk fruit) is contributing to the cravings as they as so much sweeter than table sugar. I’m diabetic so it’s really a dilemma. I am really going to try and focus again this week on my meal times and food choices. I need continual progress with sustainable habits. I’ve delved back into a lot of research and its helping.

07/29-194.6-(Trend Weight: 195.7)- Boy oh Boy was I EVER TEED OFF last night, and still yet today. I bought 3 cases of Lipton Green Tea Citrus for a refreshing drink in the heat. I have been drinking them off and on for a couple of weeks now. I THOUGHT I bought the diet version that I’ve bought before. Last night when my daughter picked up my DGS (after I babysat) I offered her some and she checked the label for aspartame which she is allergic to. The 2nd ingredient was sugar. REAL SUGAR. I had to see for myself, and I went through the roof! The 100 calories I could live with, but it had 33 carbs for the bottle. 33, my friends! That comes uncomfortably close to my goal for the entire day! How in the world did I buy the regular and not diet? Were they on the wrong spot on the shelf? Was I in that big of a hurry that I just didn’t pay attention? Luckily I love to eat my sweets, not drink them so I have not had one every day, but I have had one 2 or 3 times per week for weeks and weeks now. This may have caused a few of my stalls! And it certainly didn’t help my blood sugar levels as I am diabetic. Anyway, I sent them all home with my daughter so she can sneak a little healthy green tea in from time to time. She’ll prolly take them to work as she works in a hot factory in Quality Control. I had one yesterday too, before I knew. Weight fluctuated back down so I’m grateful for that. Overall I’ve done better this round, but how much better could it have been this round or the previous couple of rounds? I’m still SEETHING!

I vote you give yourself a pass, Donna. A mistake was made, doesn't matter now who made it. The important thing is that you didn't do it on purpose, you figured out what the problem was, and you fixed it by getting rid of the tea. Now you're back to doing what you meant to do in the first place. It's just a hiccup along the way. Also, you're still down from the beginning of the month and that's great! You got this!
