I hope this is a pic of my trike. I just got back with my hubs. Just really hot. Hopefully will be cooler soon.

Thats a neat trike!!! Now I would tootle around on something like that..
Yes all I really can do is light exercise..im so sore
Dr said I can take more tylenol but to tell you the truth ladies I am going to try and get a medical Marijuana card.. now im not going to smoke the wacky weed, but will get some edibles or gummies for pain to use sparingly..
With this diagnosis i should be able to get a card which should save me some money.2 -

You won't have any problem at all. I would let your rheumatologist know also. I did try the oral but not for me. The one thing that helped the most was the tropicals. Last for 12 hours.1 -
Vicki and Allie- hope you both start feeling better soon. Being in pain is, well, a pain but even worse during the summer. If it is winter at least you can try things like hot baths/heating pads, etc to help.
Maybe cold showers would help, not sure on that though.

Just really bothers me that the news puts out that Covid is not a threat. Covid is still real. People are still being hospitalized for Covid. I'm retired nurse. I friends still working and they have said recently that Covid admissions are on the rise. The people that need to protect themselves still need too.3

DH can mean a bunch of things- for most it is dear husband, lately, mine is NOT that at all-more like d*** husband. He is irritated with something all the time and just makes everyone around him miserable.
Today, he is really bad- if it wasn't so hot, I would go walk for an hour or two.3 -
Cindy- this is coming from the rheumatologist office
You mean topicals? You said tropicals that sounds good too lol.hoping to go to the last concert tonight.1 -

Texted with youngest son today. I told him just seeing his name lit up in Messenger warms my heart. He's hoping to be able to take leave in Nov. This November, like in 2 months and change November! I told him I will be buying more Tums or Pepto Bismol, because he won't be used to home cooked meals. He just laughed!
After waking up at 4 am and also exercising, I took a HARD nap for an hour. So did husband in his recliner. We nap, because heck we can!

Hi Gals,
Oh my 94 new posts…..
Rita – I read the posts with your lists for each day and am impressed that you keep to this so faithfully. I am too scattered!
Lanette – I love the chicken stories….
Barbie – LOL “chickens or sports cars or cruises” LOL
Tracey – DONOT do a call with HR everything in writing! Is the only way to go. I see that Karen and Lisa already voted for writing.
Heather – Max looks great.
Lisa – congrats on the Amazon air conditioning unit!
Sue – glad the horses were ok.
Ran out of time….
Sunday….
Allie – the huge play pen for just sleeping is an interesting idea… I can see how it would work for some kids. They must have a nice sized room to make that work so well.
Heather – lots of storage in DS’s kitchen.
Pip – great job on fund raising, and riding
Machka – Sorry about your bees!
So a few bits and pieces about my month…. I am so ready for September or even for 2024!
I did turn 65 at the beginning of the month (Thanks Betsy – I saw your wishes) figuring out Medicare was a bigger job than I expected and think it is solved now. Dealing with my mom was another challenge so I was in no real mood to celebrate.
I did go out for a couple of nice dinners with friends. Always appreciated.
For at least 10 years I have encouraged, suggested that my mom tell my brother he had to move out of her home. He is 57 and for all but 4 of those years he has lived at home. – of course, the first 18 years are expected. LOL! He has not worked, paid rent, not done chores, not been helpful. But has done drugs and been an acholic most of those years. He does weld and has made some very nice welded art. My mom is 94 and will not live forever. Pushing him out of the nest is overdue. When she dies as the person in charge of the estate, I will push him out.
But sometime in July she did tell him to go. But did not share that with anyone. As a result, I had some of his artwork here I was trying to help sell and did not know needed to be returned. My brother and my mom are in the running for the world’s worst communicators so now he thinks I stole his art. Lots of awful words have been texted to me, and threats made. The police may end up involved. This has been stressful.
***update - he was out 2 nights and then came home – the story is he is leaving again in a couple of days- I am doubtful********
I have been stung by hornets, as I ended up with a ground dwelling hornet nest in my front yard. I am allergic and ended up on too much Benadryl to be able to stay awake and function but enough to keep the swelling somewhat under control (all doses as recommended by the doctor) That went on for 5 days. After the 4th night of dressing in all the layers I could and spraying/pouring hornet poison on the site of the nest things were quiet enough to to move a pot, a paver and some dirt. Dump in some more insecticide - finally I believe they are all dead. What a hassle.
Then over the top of all of this Levi got a foxtail in his paw – Vet visit $300+ An ear infection in the middle of the night with so much pain we couldn’t wait – Emergency Vet $600+ and a senior exam at his vet, as he has lost 60% ish of his hearing and a similar about of vision since January and I decided it was time to get a handle on all that is going on with him. $300+ -- Good news is it looks like it might be all old age; but they are doing full labs, so I’ll hear the final in a few days.
September please come quickly!!!!!!!!!!!

Betsy-I have heard some of the immunotherapies can be rugged. I know with my mom with chemo over time it got rougher until she decided she was done with treatment. Before she got to that point she went through ups and downs. It is so good your sister feels she can really talk to you. None of us know how much longer we have so enjoy the day.
Allie-glad they got you a diagnosis. I have told my kids if I have chronic pain I prefer natural remedies to opiates. Can't use them now while I work for government but if it is legal for me I will.
Vicki-I hope they get you some sort of answers.
Annie-I don't know if you have been exposed either, but I think that is considerate of you to mask. Small rantAfter SS and I left football game Sunday to go pick up food he told me he thought wife and sons were getting over Covid-they had been coughing etc. Said its just like the flu any more. I had boys in car with me for about 30 minutes. Most of time we were outside. I thought it would have been nice to have a heads up they had been sick/were just getting over something ahead of time. I'm 68 with cancer and SS grandmother was there and she is 84. I don't think either of us even wants a summer cold!
Rebecca-I think it is excellent the boys are texting. I am ok with mine not checking in as often as long as one of them can tell me they hear from the other. Hope it's just squirrels in the walls. And I hope he gets home for a visit!
Cleared up a couple of outstanding tasks for work today. Need to get a couple of pieces finished in the morning when I go to office-then they will be done and dusted!
We had a sad event in my county today. A school bus got in a wreck with a mini van and flipped. One child (6th grader) was thrown out of bus (I assume through window) and is dead. 20 some were taken to hospital to get checked out. There were 52 elementary kids on bus-first day of school and they weren't too far from school. This was one of the county schools. I can't imagine the pain and fear.
Going to clean up kitchen and do an inside walk. Only did a mile this am to help get foot toned down. Will walk inside for a bit to get y 10,000 steps in for the day and do some stretches. Too bad I can't get feet replacements!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

My husband and I only have 1 grandchild. We get to keep him every other week for an overnight. Our son James and his wife Amy live an hour away not far but not like hey can I stop by. So 1wk we get him & the next wk Amy's parents have him overnight. If truth be known her parents probably have him more often. My husband spoils him too much, which is not a plus.
Jackson is 6 now. He says some of the funniest things. He is like his dad in that respect. He is partly home schooled and belongs to a home school group that meets in a classroom environment 3 days per wk. One of the days they have outside class. It really involves all the senses. On the day we have him we have school work to do with him. It's not easy. The last thing was on the tides and the sea and how it is affected by the moon. 6 yr old home work. Pretty intimidating. Trying to help him understand when he wants play with Poppa. Lol. I will sign off. Cindy from Pensacola.
I think DH is Dear Husband or Darling Husband. I don't use it because that's not how I refer to my husband. It doesn't roll off the fingers for me.

Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE
I hope they are checking your kidneys and heart.

Pip, NICE!!
Kim, sorry you’ve had such a rough August! Happy belated birthday! I turned 65 in July!
Lisa, so nice to see Kelsey and the kids looking so happy!
Tracy, great tees!
The memory has failed…..sorry to those I’ve missed😔
I’ve been tracking and hitting the gym for just over a week now and, surprise !, I’ve lost 1.2 pounds. Amazing how that works, smh!
Grandkids the next two days, last week they were a challenge, hoping this week will be better. Grandson has his own mind and doesn’t like playing by the rules, which frustrates me immensely. He’s seven, going on thirteen!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the new gals!

Heather - I think it is vitally important for adults to be as truthful as they can with children. I’ve seen a few too many times what happens when children find out later. It would tire me out too.
Ginny - I am a reluctant gardener. Only flowers, not vegetables. If I don’t put any in DH complains but I am the one that does all of the work for it. This year I tried two beds instead of just pots and I don’t like it. I like pots better. Next year though I am thinking of getting DH to build a raised bed so I can plant a few veggies.
Katie - you are correct the newsfeed is equivalent to the wall in FB.
I haven’t had an issue logging food.
Machka - I just love your gardening story. You do beautiful work.
Annie - how many days has it been since your dad was exposed? Hopefully he escaped unscathed.
Betsy - Hugs to you and your sister. It’s so good that you are close and together. I hope you have many more years.
Joy - It sounds like a lovely trip, can’t wait to hear all about it. Yes it depends on the weather how long that ferry can take. DH was on it for 26 hours one time.
When we landed in Halifax in January this year it was like late Fall here. It was surreal because it was -20 something when we left here.
I couldn’t decide if it was smoke or cloud today either.
Cynthia - Mostly DH stands for Dear Husband, sometimes depending on the context it can probably mean D*mn Husband. You’re doing fine, keep it up.
Your Grandson sounds like a smart young man.
Allie - at least you have an answer now, can they do anything with the pain in the meantime?
Vicki - I hope you get some answers tomorrow. Are you still working crazy hours?
Rebecca - I am so excited for your family. I hope Owain continues to stay in contact now. That first call was probably the hardest for him to make.
Kim - it’s nice to have an update from you, I’m sorry it hasn’t been a better month for you. Hopefully September will be much better.
Ginny - I hope that you SS doesn’t do that again. I think a lot of people think it’s all done now.
Tragic news in your county.
Pip - that’s a nice new camper. It will be more room for you and the bathroom will be a huge addition I bet.
We are going camping tomorrow after my class for a week. I’m looking forward to it but nearly as much as DH is. It’s not my favourite thing except for the campfire. We are renting a friends camper.
I’m not sure how often I’ll be on, I’m hoping to spend some quality time with DH.

Rebecca gratitude for Owain’s call is flooding my heart. Rejoicing he’s safe (and repentant).
Heather Thanks for your insight and for sharing your honest replies to Edie’s and Bea’s questions.
Lisa the happy in Hawaii pic.
Kay Think I’ll pass on Contexto, but may try Phrazle and give Connections another try.
Cynthia your joy in your new trike shines through!
Allie hope the card comes through quickly and you can get some relief. Easier on your innards than Tylenol to be sure.
Kim ((hugs)). For you and for Levi.
Ginny SMH at your SS’s attitude. Even if COVID is “just like the flu” doesn’t he understand how bad that could be for you? SMH
Betsy ((hugs held extra long))
Vicki praying your doctor can find out what’s causing your pain and resolve it quickly.
Pip WOW that’s quite a BIG change
There were more I wanted to respond to but … falling asleep.
Gardening: I love to look at seed catalogs but lose interest in weeding and watering about this time of the year. Grew a bumper crop of red romaine from a six pack bought at the master gardener’s sale, shared lots with T before it bolted. Also got some snow peas, all from pots. Didn’t plant anything in the side yard this year. Joe is keeping the dwarf fruit trees alive with the water from the puppy pool and dog’s water buckets.
Today’s gratitude: electricity and internet, unlike our neighbors to the south in Smith River and Crescent City where the power company de-energized the lines because of the Smith River Complex fires.08/21: Move: 2 sets PT w/d, line dance class, A-D walking. Steps:8535Later, lighter, lovelies!
Fuel: sugar in vs mfp=7 CI<CO net=491
Live: Joe, readings, BP, AD, library, post office, Dollar Tree, drop in on DS. Wt:130.2
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD
2023: Be of good cheer. August: Move more, fuel better (less sugar), live NOW.

Pip - Wow, fancy!
I think next year I might try growing some 'cut and come again' salad mix in a big pot we have. Can fill the bottom with cardboard etc and then some home compost, them won't have to buy much commercial compost for the top layer. It's the one thing we are always running out of. A smaller pot for rocket, (arugula) one of my favourite things. We have a 12 night cruise in April next year, so could sow just before we leave and hope for rain. We don't have rabbits round here, or deer, so they should be safe enough. Worth trying, and if it doesn't work, not a lot lost. Next to the house we only get the sun in the mid afternoon, so it's a good spot for salads.
French Circle in the park this morning. I actually had a shower this morning, having been encouraged by seeing the girls. I prefer baths because I can put Oilatum in it, and that avoids the 'ants' in my legs coming on after a shower. It's horrible! Today I smothered my lower legs in thick hand cream, and that seems to have worked! I've had this problem with 'ants' since university. Hate showers.
This afternoon it's Edie and Max. I'm going to have a Little Women session with her. I said 'We can do acting the parts.' She said, 'No, you can act the parts, I'm not going to.' Max is going to try out DH'S solution to the pentagon problem. He explained it to me this morning. I nodded.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -
Ladies not sure how long it’s been since I posted here, but nice to see most of you are still here. Last year has been a bit traumatic, DH’s health has deteriorated breathing and walking, some days ok and others not so. This means jobs around the house don’t get done and this depresses me. Consequently my good habits have flown out of the window, weight is up, BP is slightly up. Since May I’ve had trouble walking with leg pains. Saw a physio on Monday and he says it’s my hamstrings so lots of painful stretching exercises.
First steps to improvement 1) log every mouthful. 2) plenty of hamstring stretching.
