I'm about to head out for about 2.5 weeks of travel where I won't have a scale and perhaps no internet for part of the time so I wanted to make sure there was a thread for the new month ready to go. I'll see you over there mid-September!

    I might not get to goal this month, but I will push as hard as I can until the 31st. Mid-August, I did get sick with Covid, and that caused a slow down with the progress. So, all I'm saying is that life happens that will derail/ slow down the progress, but as long as I stick to it, progress will come. Will work very hard the next four days to get as close to the 179.8 as I can (really hoping for a major whoosh)

    Total loss for August Looks like I bounced back up a bit, but no big deal. Still down about 1.6 pounds for the month. I see from last week's post I actually expected to pop up from the catered meals on the event a couple weeks ago. This trip we cooked our own meals, so it wasn't over the top. I got to row four days carrying everything for our group of four (my raft plus three kayaks).

    Hello again!
    I am Ana, 39 years old. 5'5" reaching out from Greece...

    Last two years I gained approximately 40 pounds (20kgr)..
    Tried drastic measures to get back to track, but to no avail... So I am now taking it one day at a time, with baby steps and learning to set realistic goals! Trying to make it a lifestyle choice, rather than a punishment !!

    August Start Weight: 175 lbs (79.4 kgr)
    August Goal Weight: 164 lbs (74.6 kgr) Adjusted after the first week...

    August 7: Posted today since tommorow will be off grid! 173.2 lbs (78.6kgr) A bit slower than I wanted.. I have concluded that I need to majorly adjust my goals, ( ฮ™ already made a change in my August Goal weight) or make huge changes for food and activity.. I find that as I get older, just food moderation, no longer works.. So consistently exercising seems to be the only way... Next week will show!

    August 16: 172.4 lbs (78.2 kgr) I am very happy with this number, since I was on vacation the last 5 days, with no scale, and not much restriction on food! Back on schedule, I hope next week reflects that!

    August 22: 172.4 lbs (78.2 kgr) I thought it would be lower, but I will keep expecting for the drop... At the past I would be so frustrated, I would go drown my sorrows on ice cream, nuggets, or burgers.. Now I am just waiting for my body to start responding! A week to go!


    August 29 170.6 lbs (77.4 kgr) Very happy with the weekly loss of almost 2 pounds! two days to go to conclude the month!! Thank you @enlightenme3 for setting up September and I hope you have a great time!

    08/22-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- Very early travel today for routine mammogram and oncologist appt. 4 hour drive each way. Hopefully I am still in full remission. Diet & Exercise has been horrible. What I am doing is just not sustainable. Iโ€™ve got to rethink my MFP goals and tweak.

    08/29-191.8-(Trend Weight: 196.0)- I took my older friend out for dinner last night at a new little restaurant that opened recently about 16 miles down the road. Itโ€™s a little dive because it opened in a very old place that had been closed for 20 years. You can imagine the critter residue as it pretty much sits in the middle of the woods with nothing around it for miles and miles. It took a long time to get through all the inspections and water testing (new well) but it finally opened. In small towns like mine, we like to support small local business and each other so lots of people were there to enjoy and congratulate. It really is a little Andy Griffith-like in small towns like mine so, of course, we had to go. I chose my dinner carefully which kept the calories and carbs down. It was a nice evening. I finally inched my way back into a tiny bit of exercise yesterday after some potty/tummy troubles the last few days. I can feel my guts are still slightly inflamed but at least their not full! Itโ€™s raining and gloomy here today so handymen will be shifting gears and working inside. They were originally scheduled to replace a pipe on the roof. I wonโ€™t be able to exercise until this evening but will push myself to get it in. Iโ€™m usually so tired in the evenings, especially when itโ€™s raining so heavily. Itโ€™s dark (need the lights on) and cold. Iโ€™m about ready to turn on the heat. Very strange weather in August, even for Michigan.

    @3rdtimelosesit I'm not really doing anything special. I just cut back my portions to the recommended amounts, eat a light lunch (usually a sandwich or salad) and a regular dinner. Not much snacking (and that's on low-cal stuff). And I go for a walk every day for about an hour or so (up to a little over 3 miles a day). That's it. I have been coming in way low on my calories, though. The site says I should eat 1350, but I seem to hit around 1150-1200 by the time I finish dinner and then I can never decide if I want one more snack or dessert before bed. Eventually, I forget about needing to choose something and then it's too late (I don't really like eating after 8pm).

    I always lose a lot of weight really fast whenever I start portion controlling/calorie counting. But even I'm a little surprised it just keeps coming off so fast. I'm almost at my main goal of 250 so I keep expecting it to get harder, but... still waiting, lol. I think the lowest I've ever gotten after having kids was 235 and once I hit that, I couldn't seem to lose any more. So we'll see how it goes once I get below 250.

    @Antara_Kld Thanks. I was a little surprised by the number as well.

    Itโ€™s alright, i had a very eventful and stressful month. lotโ€™s of social gatherings + less gym. Iโ€™ve also been so lazy with trackingโ€ฆIโ€™m telling myself that this was a โ€œmaintenance monthโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚ i was up and down between 203.6 and 207. I have a wedding 10/5, so I hope to buckle down in September and see what I can do to be closer to 199 by then.

    Total loss for August Unofficial weigh-in last day of the month; one more check-in on Saturday. For now it looks like another week of gain instead of loss or maintenance. Still down about just over a pound for the month. I had a river trip last week. I was surprised that I actually lost a little bit. Then I ate the leftover snacks that I didn't eat on the river.... Still, I should be fine with losing a pound this month. Sure is better than a gain, and I have two days left to improve that!

    08/31-191.8-(Trend Weight: 195.2)- 2 lbs down this month. Iโ€™m posting late due to the travel to the endocrinologist today for my diabetes. His scale showed that I was down a couple of pounds from my last visit. He was happy to see my glucose numbers on my monitor were better. He reminded me that excess sugars in the blood are stored as fat and when I keep my numbers better, I maintain much better and even lose weight. I needed that reminder. I left feeling very inspired and able. I ate most of my Chicken Alfredo at the restaurant for lunch today. It was so so good. I will finish the rest tonight for dinner so I will be 100% back on plan tomorrow. I will not be snacking tonight since it is already getting late. Tomorrow I have a huge bow window being put in my living room to replace the old picture window that was flanked on each side. I also have to start getting up early on Fridays to drive my kindergarten grandson to the nearby bus stop by 7:20 am. I have to get him up and get him ready for school since I always babysit on Thursday nights and Fridays. Then I will pick him up from the bus stop at about 4:00 pm. I am not looking forward to getting up that early since sleep is already so elusive. Itโ€™s not that I canโ€™t handle the 6:30 part (which is when Iโ€™ll need to get up). Itโ€™s that no matter what time I get up, I seem to need about 2 hours to chill, drink coffee and get ready to see other human beings and be nice. Ah well. Nice round everyone!
