Busy weekend, funeral home on Friday, my girlfriend's mother in law passed away.
She was 88 and lived a good life.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday had my daugher's in laws for the weekend with eating
out all days and I managed to lose.
Now to keep going and get back to my ticker weight. :bigsmile:0 -

kristen,
i'm gonna speak for me and jorden and shannon (the scale giver uppers)...
don't worry about incorporating our inches into the chart...i know i personally CAN NOT commit to getting measured weekly as i do it at jenny craig to stay consistent.....just do what you are doing....we will each just carry forward this week's weigh in until 10/31and then report an amazing loss that week...we dont need to get credit for having the biggest loss that week (if we indeed do) since it wont be for just 1 week like everyone else....please do not make more work for yourself...we will all still be here on the thread participating in challenges and the discussions and the cheering just not posting a "new" weight each monday....pretend we are just "stuck" each week and carry us forward as we report it....
thanks,
denise and the other fellow scale ditchers...FitJ1210 - "Kristen I'm still staying if that is ok?" That's fine. Please post inches lost, when you can, and I'll incorporate it into the chart.
nwohler - "already below my first mini goal. YEAH!!" Yay! Good for you!
fatchristine - Nice challenge idea!
jklm - I got your message.
Sorry this is so short. Crazy weekend! Good luck on your weigh ins tomorrow!!0 -

PHEW!!! By the skin of my teeth, I somehow managed to stay exactly the same as last week (it always amazes me that that can happen, down to the 10th of a pound)... but anyway, I know that I technically "gained" b/c I was down a pound earlier in the week. So I guess that's what 5 good days, 1 so so day, and 1 bad day can get you.
Off to a good start today, and I am going to really try to hit -2.8 so I can make my 1st minigoal! Hugs all! amy :0)

Busy working on the chart but...
gmomlyn - I actually worded it wrong... Measurement isn't going to be incorporated into the chart. For a few of those that are ditching the scale for a bit, I'll just put inches they lose where their weight loss would go.
FitJ1210 - What I'm going to do with those of you who are ditching the scale for a bit is... Starting now, take your measurements today and then when you lose more inches, give me that measurement and I'll put it where your weigh in would be. After you give me that measurement, it would be like starting new until you do your next measurements. In other words, if you lose 2" from today until next Monday, I would put the 2" in the "this week's weight" box. But for you, you would know that it is more like this week's inches lost. Sorry for the confusion from me before. That's all it will be though. Just a way to show that you are being accountable while you've gone off the scale. Starting from this date also, I'll keep a total of your inches lost starting from this point. You don't have to measure every week, I'll just put it in as it's given.
Everyone, you either have to decide whether you're going to do scale or measurements. Please... not both. Also, if it seems that your weigh in is always better on Friday, why not do your weigh ins on Friday every week? That's fine with me. As long as your weigh in is the same day of the week, every week, that works.
bluiz13 - Sorry but I don't want to do it the way you posted. I don't feel that it is fair to the ones that commit to a weigh in every week for the three of you to not post an accountability of some kind for the next 5 charts. I'm not saying that you have to measure every week, but I think there needs to be measuring and posting sometimes over the next 5 weeks.0 -

that's fine...i will do my best but i can not commit to going to jenny craig to get measured weekly or even every other week as that is just another thing to add to my already stressful life....
i remember when i decided to join the challenge i wasnt sure how often i was going to be weighing myself or even at all and was told that it was fine to just report when i can...so i'm going to continue to be here...i'll provide measurements when i have them but if i dont get them done, i'll be reporting my weight from 9/26 each week going forward until i do get back on the scale, because realistically that is what i will be weighing since i'm not getting on the scale.....hope this doesnt cause any trouble for the group since i will still be here and helping others remain accountable as i bust my own @ss to get to my goal of 167 by 10/31.....
best of luck with your weighins this week girls and let's kick some butt to reach our goals this week and next and so on....0 -

No problem. When I first thought you were going to incorporate measurement into the chart, I thought that it would be so much more work for you, considering how much work you are doing for us in this challenge to begin with. Thanks again.
Also....I had my first NSV yesterday...well, actually not my first since I have noticed that some of my jeans that were tight in August are fitting me now. But yesterday one of my daughters and her husband were here picking up 2 of their children who slept over the night before. I mentioned that I wanted to run to the store, so I was going to go change. Then my SIL told me something like "yeah, you'd better change into your own pants. Whose jeans are you wearing anyway?" I asked him what he was talking about, and he told me that the jeans I had on were all baggy in the butt on me, so he figured I was wearing someone else's pants. I told him he was my favorite SIL. He asked if that was ever in question, lol. :laugh:0 -

Hey Kristen-- Thank you for being so supportive of those of us who are going scale-free. I'm excited and a little nervous not to have the scale there for accountability, so the measurements tracking will be really helpful. Thanks again.
Also -- congrats on the losses this week!! Keep up the great work. So many of you have already met your mini goals -- how exciting!
For those of you who feel stuck: I know people have mixed opinions on Jillian Michaels, but if you have a positive opinion, I HIGHLY recommend listening to her podcast. She has an episode called "Debunking the plateau (05/06/2011)," where she shares some awesome information for those of you who feel 'stuck.' Basically she makes the point that our bodies get used to everything -- a certain workout schedule, a certain calorie level, etc. Once the body starts getting used to that status quo, it stops losing weight -- it wants to keep things the same. So she suggests making a change to your workout schedule or eating habits to change the status quo a little and get your body losing again. Do an extra day of lifting, or one fewer day of cardio.. or one more day of cardio and one fewer day of lifting. Eat 100 fewer calories or 100 extra calories. Change something up and your body should start losing again!
Anyway, her podcast is available through iTunes. That episode is not the only valuable episode -- all of them have some little nugget of information that has helped me through this process.0 -
