Not too bad on the scales this morning considering how much and how late we ate and partied. All of 3 of my kids and 6 out of 7 Grandkids helped celebrate my son's promotion to senior master sergeant in the Air Force and graduation from his master's program. Now it is time to sing, "Turn out the lights, the party's over" and get back to working on my excess weight.

Sep: Finished at185.0 (lost 5 lbs)
    Oct 1 = Oct 8: 184.2 (Lost 0.8 lbs)
    Oct 9: 185.0

My name is Donna. I am 5โ€™ 5โ€ tall, 63 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250โ€™s; 240โ€™s; 230โ€™s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180โ€™s; 170's; 160's; 150โ€™s

Starting Weight (from Sept 30th): 188.2

Weight in blue makes me blue because itโ€™s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itโ€™s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

I may stop by the dollar store today and pick up some sugar-free Werthers candies that I can suck on in a candy dish emergency. Even though I am a chocoholic, there is something very spooky and dangerous about candy corn. You eat one piece, EVEN ONE, and it leads to another and another and another. I wonโ€™t be buying or eating any candy corn this season!

Hi, Iโ€™m Tiffani. 41 female 5โ€™1. Lost 20lbs 2 years ago and felt so good but Iโ€™ve put it all back on and Iโ€™m finally ready to get back on track. Iโ€™m only tracking food right now and will add in movement at some point.

    1: 159.6
    2: 159.0
3: 159.0 (ate good yesterday despite having lunch provided at a work event. Very proud of myself and Iโ€™m sure thatโ€™s why I didnโ€™t jump back up in weight this morning:) Iโ€™m trying to listen to my hunger cuesโ€ฆsomething Iโ€™m not very good at.
4: 159.6 ate good yesterday. Definitely didnโ€™t go over my cals so I guess my body is fluctuating water weight. I feel really good about being back on track and doing something rather than just wishing I was thinner lol
5: 159.8 I ate a little more yesterday but still under maintenance by 1-200 cals. I think the bump up was because I ate more towards the end of the day. I know if I keep on keepin on it will eventually show up on the scale
6: 159.6 I ate over maintenance tonight so hopefully that doesnโ€™t set me back too far. Only by about 150cals so shouldnโ€™t do too much damage.
7: 159.6 wellโ€ฆone of these days maybe Iโ€™ll see some downward movement๐Ÿ˜… Non-scale victory is I did not eat donuts with the kids this morning I made some eggs๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
8: 158.4 ate lower carb yesterday because I think gluten is still giving me issues (headaches, indigestion) Iโ€™m sure that helped with the scale loss
    9: 158.0

Did not weigh in today, waiting until Sunday. I love reading everyone's posts, it's a great feeling knowing I'm not alone in the struggle. Ate pretty well today but didn't drink enough water. I hope all the vegetables I ate helped some. I guess I'll know by the number of times I get up in the middle of the night. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‚

Back in the office tomorrow after a long weekend. I have healthy food ready to go...hoping to stay on track.

    Goal weight for October: 132.8

    October 1: 136.2
October 2: 137.0 I logged ๐Ÿ‘ Wow, my weight can really spike up quickly. On Sept 30 I was 134.8. Now 2.2 lbs higher. But this is not a surprise. On Sept 30 my mom took me out to lunch; and the mac & cheese was sooooo bad. I just had to go home and make mac & cheese to go with dinner, the proper way, with all the butter and flour and cream cheese and buttery bread crumb topping. And I ate too much of that mac & cheese. And then yesterday we had a long party with friends, and there was a ton of great food & wine. So I overdid it there. So, now back to the plan. My goal is to get back at daily logging & daily meeting my calorie goal, AND to drink lots of water. Cycle day 1 should be right about now too, so the weight could stay here or go up again. Just going to get back to the plan and try to stick with it from here!
    October 3: 137.0 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 4: 136.8 I logged ๐Ÿ‘
    October 5: 135.2
    October 6: DNW
October 7: 135.2 Had crazy crazy days both Thursday and Friday...
    October 8: 134.8
October 9: 135.0 I've been super slack with logging. But I am signed up for my very first 5K tomorrow, so that's exciting. This will be a run/walk for me. For about a month I've been working on it and now I can run up to about 3-4 minutes intermittently with about 1-2 minutes walking, for about 25 minutes. I never believed I could run for 3 minutes straight, so this is a huge improvement. Hopefully I won't wake up sick or something (there is sickness going through the house.)

Hello I'm Darlene and have been with this group for a few months now; my favorite support group on MFP. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty).

    My goals for October๐Ÿ‚ :
Lose 4 pounds (always my goal) - BUT I am only 6 pounds away from getting out of the obese category - so setting a stretch goal to get there by the end of the month. Usually if I announce something I do it so . . . .. fingers crossed. โš–๏ธ
Hit my orignal 1,960 mile goal. I am on a mission to get 2,023 miles in 2023, when I first started my goal was 1,960 - a good year. When I realized that I would achieve this early changed it to 2,023. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ
    17K Steps daily ๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily ๐Ÿ’ฆ
    Strength Train 3 days a week ๐Ÿ’ช
Tai Chi or Some Stretching exercise 1 day a week ๐Ÿง˜
    Log daily ๐Ÿ“
Stay under my calorie range ๐Ÿฅ—
    Read daily ๐Ÿ“–
Do something creative or fun daily ๐Ÿงถ ๐Ÿ–๏ธ ๐ŸŽฎ

    Oct 1: ๐Ÿ˜ 173.8 A good start ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฅ— ๐ŸŽฎ
    Oct 2: ๐Ÿ˜ 173.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿ–๏ธ ๐ŸŽฎ
Oct 3: 173.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿ–๏ธ ๐ŸŽฎ The Hogwarts challenge that I am in has an assignment this week to run/jog for 20 minutes. It doesn't have to be in one session. Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.
    Oct 4: 173.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿ–๏ธ ๐ŸŽฎ

Oct 8: 172.6 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐ŸŽฎ Happy with that - went out for a nice lunch, had a couple beers - it might be a day lag for the uptick - but happy that it stayed the same today.
Oct 9: ๐Ÿ˜ 172 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿงถ ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŽฎ Not a very good night sleep - couldn't fall asleep so go back up - read, knitted, played games on my phone - finally went to bed at 3:00AM, and back up 6:00AM. It's bingo night with Mom tonight so up later than usual - thinking I'll need to take a nap today - we'll see how that plays out on the scale tomorrow.
Oct 10: 172 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“– ๐ŸŽฎ First day in forever I missed my calorie goal. Just a couple 100 over, but over just the same. It is my sister's birthday today - so had cake last night at bingo which put me over the top.

So much for getting back on track. Instead, I felt obligated to eat the leftover food from our party. Like I've said before, "Procrastinators unite, Tomorrow". Ha! Seriously, back to tracking food and exercising. Pickleball today -FUN! :D

It's the Harvest Corn for me. I bought a pack of it, but it's unopened and hidden. Not really sure what I think I'm going to do with it -- maybe it's a break-in-case-of-emergency type thing? For now, it remains hidden. We don't even hand out candy anymore. We can't be trusted to keep it in the house. I would love to have my 20 yr old metabolism back -- the one that could eat a pack of candy bars and just do a little extra on the stair climber to work it off.

I'd like Halloween candy to go away, or at least be icky. ๐ŸŽƒ We have a bucket of candy in our office. I had 4 pieces today which is a great accomplishment given my past history. Progress is Progress.

Years ago, I did the Couch to 5K and jogged a 5k on my 50th birthday (a time when I was almost at my goal weight). I thought about doing that again, but when I tried earlier this year my knees couldn't take it. I thought I would try again when I lost 60 pounds - I'm not quite at 60, but close - I guess this was a sign that I should try again. Yesterday I did day one, and it was fun. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really did love it.

Oct 11: ๐Ÿ˜  173.2 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿงถ ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŽฎ I guess Monday's overage, lack of sleep, and the fact that I was over on my sodium goal yesterday got me.

@andreajlnhe How did the race go? Hope you had fun. I just started using the couch to 5k program (on week two), loving it.

@deepwoodslady We went to Sam's club for our monthly bulk buy and got the Halloween candy - 455 pieces (we live in a great trick-or-treating neighborhood). Every day I look at it - but so far haven't opened the bag. It's the minature tootsie rolls for me.

@ManifestingToday I had to look up what harvest corn was, we call it candy corn in Connecticut. Where are you from?

Hi, I'm a 50 yo married female, 5'6", and tired of looking and feeling like I do. Iโ€™m making changes to get out of the Obese category, to look good in my clothing, and to have confidence in public again.

@ManifestingToday I had to look up what harvest corn was, we call it candy corn in Connecticut. Where are you from?

I live in Virginia (in the US). Harvest Corn is a variant of Candy Corn. According to Brach's: "We added a deliciously chocolaty twist to America's #1 Candy Corn*. Our Harvest Corn combines Classic Candy Corn flavor with cocoa powder for a rich, chocolaty taste that's sensational for baking, snacking, and fall decorating with friends and family."

It is wonderful with a hot cup of coffee. It always sells out at my store, so I bought a bag when the candy started arriving, and it's hiding in the pantry. We'll see how long it resides there, living it's best unopened life.
I'd like Halloween candy to go away, or at least be icky. ๐ŸŽƒ We have a bucket of candy in our office. I had 4 pieces today which is a great accomplishment given my past history. Progress is Progress.
This is SO HARD when it's in the office. I hated this time of year because everyone brought in holiday snacks (let's face it - it's not food). Candy, donuts, holiday cookies, etc. I'm proud of you. It's so difficult to resist when it's RIGHT THERE.
Hopefully I won't wake up sick or something (there is sickness going through the house.)
I hope you've avoided whatever is going around, and everyone else is on the mend.

Iโ€™m a grandma from Ontario. 7 months ago my health really took a hit: diabetes, hbp, hardened arteries , arthritis, etc. Everything came on at once. I was heading for a stroke. Scared me into action.
I love this challenge, and the support and inspiration it brings.

Starting weight in March 2023: 230 lbs.
    Goal weight: 120 lbs.
    Height: 5โ€™2โ€
    Total loss: 45 lbs.
End of Sept. weight: 187.8 lbs.
Oct. Goal: lose at least 4 lbs.

    Monthly Weight Loss:
    March-10 lbs.
    April- 8 lbs.
    May- 5 lbs.
June- 4.4 lbs. (trip to Europe)
    July- 5.6
    August-7 lbs. joined a โ€˜challengeโ€™
    September- 2.6 lbs. ( sick)
    October-
    November-
    December-

Oct. 1- 188.4 up since yesterday
    Oct. 2- 187.6
Oct. 3,4,5,6 DNW holiday up north to see fall colours
    Oct. 7- 187:2
    Oct. 8- 186. I love this whoosh!
    Oct. 9- 185.8 today is Thanksgiving. Iโ€™ve prepared a feast!๐Ÿฆƒ
Oct. 10- DNW. Went nuts last night with leftovers and sweets
Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ve gained 2 or 3 lbs. overnight from last nightโ€™s binge. The difference for me is that Iโ€™m not giving up. In fact, Iโ€™m determined to get right back on track. Iโ€™ll go to my aerobics class this morning even though I feel bloated, and take the rest of the day from there. Already planned a much healthier dinner for tonight.

    Starting weight September 1: 141

    October 10: 134.4 I logged ๐Ÿ‘

@ddainiak The race went great! I'm super excited that I finally did a 5K. I ran about 3-4 minutes and walked about 2 minutes. My time was about 41:00. My goal is to just keep on "training." That's great that you have started a C2K program! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I love this supportive group. I'm a 46 year-old, 5'4" 2-time cancer survivor mom of four who always has some new ailment each month. Lol. I will check in when I can, but life has been really challenging these past few weeks. Struggling financially means extra mental stress and lots to manage and struggling physically creates lots of appointments and PT to manage as well. I am not focusing on weight loss this month, but on maintaining what I have lost by not caving in to emotional eating by walking everyday and finding a Zen moment everyday as well.

10/01: 182.5 - coached Girls Rugby, so lots of walking and running.
10/02: 182.3 - I have a second round job interview today. Trying to stay calm.

10/11: 183.0 - Several more interviews this past week. Still maintaining my weight.
