@trooworld Does this Yeti bottle do something special? I'm trying to figure out why it is so expensive. lol Tell us how you like your walking pad.
@fabgeekmom Glad you are feeling better. Sleep is so important. I think quick and easy meals are the way to go especially if you are still feeling your cold. As long as everyone is satisfied.
@cbabie Maybe you now have more than a cold and might need some antibiotics. Beef is so expensive these days. I guess we are probably lucky that hubby can't eat red meat. Cause he used to have to have meat twice a day. Now it's just chicken or turkey. I wonder if I ate candy corn that way as a kid. I've just never been a water drinker. But now I'm working on my thinking. All day today as I drank water I would say I like to drink water. Drinking water helps me lose weight. Hopefully it will recreate some neural pathways in my brain. Just like you saying your mantra, Fall is here.
Come here and you'll find fall. lol
I did a 37 min walk. Went to the gym for 31 min. Drank 81 oz.0 -
@theslightedgeforever Good job on the exercise and water!
@trooworld Wow! 96% finished! I love a challenge, too. The pork was good last night. Tonight I have some thawed sea bass that I am going to prepare. I might do it in the air fryer. I also have some rainbow carrots that I want to roast.
Hi, all. I slept late this morning and it felt good. This afternoon I have a mammogram appointment and then I’m going to Sam’s Club. I’ll do a cycling workout after breakfast.0 -
@trooworld Thanks for the info on the Yeti. Yaaay on almost finishing the challenge. You can do it. Then move on to the Scooby Doo challenge. How about you and your friend go somewhere and take a walk and talk even if it's just around your neighborhood. Maybe get your 97-100% done.
@fabgeekmom How was your cycling workout? I've never had rainbow carrots.
Today has a been a do nothing day other than checking in here. Well not really true. I'm working on finishing up my bottle of water and that will give me 72 oz. I tracked all of my food today.

@theslightedgeforever My cycling workout was fun. I love the Peloton app. Good job on the water.
@trooworld The carrots were good. I just sprinkled paprika, garlic powder and thyme on them and roasted them at 450 for about 20 minutes. I made the skillet fish with caramelized shallots on page 227. I didn’t have shallots so I used onions. It was very good. I also made noodles with a little butter and pecorino Romano cheese.
Hi, all. My son is off today and is going to make America’s Test Kitchen tomato soup for lunch. Dinner is our usual steak and potatoes. I’ll do another cycling workout.0 -
@trooworld That's good you got in a walk with your friend on the boardwalk. Sounds so relaxing. Congrats for finishing your first destination. Plus the 1 lb loss. Woohoo.
@fabgeekmom The carrots sound really good. I could make them with just regular carrots. I love tomato soup. Enjoy your workout.
Today hubby and I took a 27 min walk. We were waiting to go out with my daughter and she was running late so I said let's just go out and walk until she calls us. Nice day out there today. Then we went out to eat and I had a cherry almond salad with chicken. I ate half and I'll have the other half tomorrow.
I didn't sleep well last night so I'm probably going to bed early. Water was 43.5 oz. So I'll try again tomorrow.0 -
@theslightedgeforever That was a good idea to go for a walk. The salad sounds good and it’s nice to have leftovers. Also discipline in only eating half.
My steak was good last night. I saved half for lunch today. I also have some delicata squash and tomato soup. My husband and I are going to the recreation center. It’s our last day in the challenge this week. We’re eating Thai tonight. I’m getting the tofu noodle bowl.0 -
@trooworld Too bad about your foot. Breakfast on the beach sounds good. I remember Little Italy when we went to San Diego. We ate at a nice restaurant there. When we were in Rhode Island last year we ate at an Italian restaurant there in Little Italy. My 11 year old granddaughter wanted to know why there was a Mexican restaurant there. Food was good and I wasn’t tracking or counting anything.0
-
@fabgeekmom Thanks for reminding me about my salad. I forgot all about it in the refrigerator. I guess I'll have it tomorrow then. How was your tofu noodle bowl? You made me laugh about the Mexican restaurant in Little Italy.
@trooworld Sorry about your foot. Breakfast on the beach sounds nice. You always have lots of interesting things to do and see. How about add another glass of water to your total? I'm celebrating 1/2 bottles these days.
I tracked my food today. That's about it. Well I checked in here. That's something. Currently at 48.6 oz of water. I'll probably be able to get in another 17 oz before I sleep.
I journal on Penzu and usually everyday they will send me via email one of my past entries either 1-4 years ago on this date. Sometimes it's good rereading and sometimes not because I see where I am stats wise now vs then. Last year on this date I had written about how I was doing the hill/sprint program and on the hill part I was at a 2.8 mph and was going to bump it up to 2.9 in November. I'm currently doing a 3.0 I didn't even remember that I started at a 2.8 So that was a nice NSV for me to read about. Because I started the entry realizing I am one lb lighter than I was this time last year. I said Geez that's really maintenance. It's okay to maintain if I'm at at healthy goal which I'm not. So more work is needed.

@theslightedgeforever Good news on your progress. One pound less is good but you know what to do to lose more. The tofu noodle bowl was really good and not very spicy. Ha! Ha! I’m glad I reminded you to eat the salad. I don’t have my progress from last year as I deleted my WW app since I didn’t want to pay for it. But I know I weigh less. Since the weather has been cooler I have been wearing jeans. Last year they were tight and now they are comfortable. I have lost my muffin top!0
-
@trooworld The necklace looks really good! I don’t remember the restaurant we went to. I think it was right at the trolley stop. Your meal sounded delicious! We also went to Old Town. We took a trolley tour and learned a lot about the city.0

Hi all!
Had a wonderful trip last weekend, been busy with work, going to the gym and life. Ate a lot of good food and NY bagels. Only gained 0.2 pounds. But back into a better routine this week. Did Zumba this morning, Monday I have Bible study, Tuesday vets, Wednesday?, Thursday Aqua, Friday?, Saturday Aqua and Sunday Zumba. Plan on walking my mile with my coworkers during lunch this week pending weather. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

@gemwolf110 Glad you had a good time. .2 gain is not bad! It’s good to get into a routine.0
-
@fabgeekmom Woohoo on your lost muffin top. Isn't that a great feeling?
@trooworld That's neat that you made your own necklace. I really like the colors. Sounds like you got in alot of movement. That's really good. So let's both shoot for a lb loss this next week.
@gemwolf110 Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Plus not gaining a bunch of weight on top of it is extra special. I usually do better on trips than at home. The bagels sound really good. I love bagels. A good plan to go for a walk with your coworkers.
I walked up to the coffeeshop. Sat there for an hour reading and basically had a coffee for lunch. So at least I closed my exercise ring. I airfryed a turkey burger and had some potato salad with it.
I've decided to count points for one week just to switch things up a bit. Water was 48 oz today. It's getting colder. I need to make me some soup I think this week.0 -
@theslightedgeforever I love coffee shops! So peaceful. The turkey burger sounds good. Potato salad, too. How did counting points compare with calories? Do you still have a WW membership? @trooworld Your weekend sounded like fun. Walking on the beach. I love farmers markets. I never have tried mead. It reminds me of when I taught senior English (in Beowulf everyone was drinking mead).
Hi, all. I cooked last night as my daughter had a work trip. Broiled chicken, sautéed red onions, red pepper and zucchini and rice. I am finishing my coffee now. We have dentist appointments this morning. Oh, joy!0 -
Afternoon all, I wanted to stop and check in. I am finally feeling like a person again. I had to call the Dr and they gave me a nose spray and said if I didn't feel better in 2 days, use the zpac they were calling in. I didn't use the zpac and I think that is a good thing. I haven't tracked or exercised. I am taking the baby walking every morning about an hour after I get home from taking Baby girl to school, so I am getting some movement in. I am actually exhausted. DH went to Alaska over the weekend, I pick him up tomorrow AM..not sure how it's all going to work, but it will.
@trooworld I agree with @theslightedge the necklace and colors are great for you, great job.
@fabgeekmom all your meas sound yummy. too bad you don't live next door, we could cook double and share..LOL.
@theslightedgeforever Good for you for going on a walk while waiting on DD. My whole family hates waiting on people...but I just say...I can't change it, so I might as well cool my jets.
cbabie0 -
@ cbabie I’m sorry you are feeling bad. I’m glad you feel like getting activity in. I’m almost over my cold. My husband and son are hacking away. I hope we don’t keep on infecting each other. I’m fortunate that I’m retired and have time to cook. When I was working and raising a family I didn’t cook that much. I remember always being exhausted.0
-
@trooworld You got a lot of movement this weekend. Good for you. What's your plan today for healthy food?
@fabgeekmom points vs calories. Yesterday I went over on both but this morning was a bit of an eye opener at breakfast. I did carb cycling for so long that I'm just used to eating an omelet for breakfast and then adding a bit of meat on the side. Well when I counted points in my head before breakfast I underestimated the Lil Smokies. I did count out the 5 that was the serving size but it had more points than I expected. But when I logged the calories for the meal, it fit nicely in the calories allotted for my meal. Had I never decided to count points, I wouldn't have had the thought of what can I do to make this a healthier breakfast? Which I decided I could do 3 lil smokies and add a 1/2 c of applesauce. For the week that I'll be doing carb cycling, it will work as is. Your meal sounded really good. No on the WW membership. I'm just using the healthi app but using the WWBlue food list.
@cbabie That's great you have found a way to get in some movement. Just little changes here and there helps. In lots of times I like waiting on others because it's like finding extra time that I wasn't planning on so I can do something and mark it off my list. Even if it's just sitting and reading my book.
Finally stayed within my food boundary today. I basically asked myself what 0 point foods do I have in the house. I steamed some baby carrots, then added some white beans and 1 1/2 oz of seasoned ground turkey. Plus a container of unsweetened applesauce on the side. Exercise was a 20 min walk. Water was 67.2 oz0 -
@theslightedgeforever I’m glad the Healthi app is helping you to make better choices. I’m using what I learned from WW to do that. My breakfast this morning was about 5 points if I am getting it right and about 400 calories. A bit more than I would like but it will keep me satisfied. One egg omelet with mushrooms, onions, sun dried tomatoes and reduced fat feta, 2 slices of 647 ( low calorie) bread and coffee with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. @trooworld That’s too bad about your salad. Your husband’s meal sounds good and filling, just what you needed. Hi, all. My dentist appointment went well. I forgot to mention earlier that my mammogram was fine. No doctor appointments until December! I’m going to the recreation center today. Tonight I am preparing the sheet pan eggplant lasagna from the Skinnytaste cookbook, Simple.0

Afternoon all, I hadn't eaten all day and about 2pm grabbed what was on the counter..Ritz crackers...Oh well and the dinner we are having is worse...corn dogs..LOL I had a bad meltdown this morning...BEFORE I didn't pull the car in far enough and the garage door hit the back of my car...then I had another meltdown..baby is sleeping and I thought I would get on here quick.
@trooworld my portable under the desk treadmill in narrow too...I walk to close the to top is my problem (when I get on there). Dinner sounds good...too bad about your salad, I would have been ticked.
@fabgeekmom I have never tried sun dried tomatoes...I should. where do you find them in the store?
@theslightedgeforever good for you...you always ask the right questions. LOL.
Gotta run, baby just woke up crying..
Cbabie0 -
@cbabie Oh, gee, what a crappy day! I hope things get better. I buy the sun dried tomatoes ( the packaged ones that are not in oil) in the produce section.1
-
Hi, all! This is a picture of my eggplant lasagna I made tonight. It was very good. This is my first time attaching a picture. I hope I did it right!0
-
@trooworld Your salad sounded good. That's a fun way to exercise: racing your friend to their house.
@fabgeekmom I'm glad your mammogram was okay. Eggplant lasagna sounds good. This next year I want to find new recipes that I like that I can turn into my go-to dinners. Your lasagna looked really good. The pic didn't appear on the thread but I found it by clicking on the link.
@cbabie I'm sorry you have had such a bad day. You could go on Pinterest and there are one week printed meal plans. Just add the ingredients to your shopping list. Saves so much time and you don't have plan out healthy meals for your family. It's already done for you. There are even 3 day plans.
Today I had to dip into my weeklies. Thank God they are there. Dd took me to a Mexican restaurant. I ate half there but then ended up eating the other half of my tacos awhile ago. At least I didn't eat the other half of the beans and rice. I never know what to get at a Mexican restaurant. A salad would have been the perfect choice. But alas I had about 6 pages of items to look through. Ended up ordering what my daughter did. Street tacos. I did think the little tortillas were cute. I'd never seen any that small. Then realized later at home that alot of my thinking is "carb" thinking so a bit of cheese and sour cream doesn't matter that much. But I am not doing carb cycling right now. Only movement I got in today was shopping. Water was 61 oz.0 -
@trooworld Was the baked chicken Parmesan from a cookbook or the website? That sounds good. My family likes bucatini so that’s our go to pasta.
Hi, all. My husband and I are going to our cottage that is near the Outer Banks, NC. We are not on the ocean side but the Sound side. He has some work to do on the cottage. There is a park with a walking track near the neighborhood so I will walk. The weather is going to be nice. I have leftovers from last night for dinner tonight. We will go get seafood tomorrow for lunch. Fried oysters for him, steamed shellfish for me.0 -
@trooworld I have eaten at the Weeping Radish. There used to be on in Manteo but that has been closed for a long time. There is one on the other side of the bridge in Currituck. I think they are closed for the season.
Hi, all! It is beautiful here. I walked the track and could see the Currituck Sound as I walked. I also did a Peloton strength workout on a sheltered bench. We are eating at Awful Arthur’s for lunch today.0 -
@trooworld Your Halloween celebration sounds fun. Also the beef tips I’m sure was a good meal. Hi, all. I’m on the way back from the Outer Banks. My meal yesterday was good even though I think I could make it better ( grilled tuna on salad). I did taste a French fry and ate a hush puppy. I walked the track this morning and did a body weight workout. Tonight we are having rib eyes, baked potatoes and roasted zucchini.0

Afternoon all, I have had some long days. I decided to go back on a med for anxiety. I went off of it, cause it made me lethargic. Well now I am tired, but I am not sleeping at night, so that is what I am saying it is. We will see. I looked at some blood work I had done and it caused me some concern, but evidently not enough for the drs to be worried. It just is showing me I really need to be health conscious. I am trying to tell myself that and wondering what will the wake up call be and will I be so mad at myself knowing I could have slowed the aging process by good food. I know some of this will straighten itself out as the baby gets older, but... LOL I want that magic pill.
@fabgeekmom I LOVE hush puppies..LOL. good for you for walking the track. You seem to always find a way to move and that is good. I at least walk the baby every morning after I take my daughter to school..he loves it and I need the movement.
@trooworld I laughed at you saying he wanted "ME" to cook...glad you did. I would have done it grudgingly. LOL. You always love to dress up. I love your creativity.
@theslightedgeforever you got this...sometimes I wish I was counting points..I ate the same thing all the time and KNEW what food was what point..easy peasy.. It's cooling off here now so it's better walking outside. LOL
Cbabie0 -
@cbabie That’s tough being tired and not sleeping. I’m glad you’re able to go for walks with the baby. I always feel better after I get some activity. And eating healthy food, too. I hope you feel better.0
-
@trooworld I love the picture! The turkey, broccoli and stuffing sounds good! We always use Stovetop stuffing mix. Everyone likes that and it’s easy! My son made homemade stuffing a few weeks ago and it was good. It was the traditional bread stuffing. He put a spatchcock chicken on top. That was yummy!
Hi, all! My steak dinner yesterday was good. I have leftovers for lunch. My son made a chocolate cake with blue icing in reference to Taylor Swift’s new album which has a blue cover. It was so good! I was tempted to eat another piece but my son said, “Step away from the cake!” So I left it alone. Plus we are saving the rest for my daughter and her family. The weather is beautiful here. We have a few more days in the 80’s. I went to the recreation center and worked out on the recumbent elliptical. So that was the third day of the challenge.0 -
Afternoon all, I am trying to get me sleep better...I ended up telling the other adults in my house to watch the baby and my daughter so I could take a nap. It was only a 30 min nap, but it felt like a few hours...so body doesn't ache right now. I made these "healthy" pumpkin pancakes...no go... I will try again in case I missed something. LOL. I am making some homemade applesauce...we will see how that turns out.
@trooworld I love the out fit and your attention to detail. You and my sister would have a great time together in a dress up costume environment. LOL. I like the bread type stuffing..but I do love cornbread...I might like the other, just never had it LOL I hope you don't have to make it at Thanksgiving, and glad you can enjoy it now. I always wondered why we couldn't have Christmas food on Thanksgiving or my birthday, or easter...LOL
@fabgeekmom LOL too funny about your son...I need him around. My family just lets me eat and then I feel awful and am in a bad mood cause I ate too much..I guess my DH has lived with it for almost 50 years..why change..LOL. I love the blue frosting idea to go with a theme...sounds like you guys have fun in life...good for you.
Cbabie

@cbabie I’m glad you got a nap. Do that more often. Yes, I am lucky to have my son. He said that without judgment and I knew he had my best interests in mind.0
