repair guy came. Part Sears sent (temperature sensor) is not the problem. It’s the igniter. Called virtual tech, will send igniter to arrive in 5-7 business days. Won’t get here before Thanksgiving. Much frustration with automated systems, website etc. Found FB page, messaged this: “ Oct 31 Samsung oven won't heat up. First available repair appointment Dec 6! Virtual technician called, sent temperature sensor. Local repairman came, trouble is not temperature sensor but igniter. Virtual technician will sent but part will not arrive before Thanksgiving. Sears is not living up to its obligation under the extended warranty I paid for. I want the part expedited and any expense for local repairman refunded. Was so mad I posted same to NextDoor asking if anyone had the phone number for our state’s consumer affairs department. Hours later this came in FB from Sears: “Hello Barbara, thank you for providing your information. We do see that the temperature sensor was ordered. Our parts come directly from the manufacturer and cannot be expedited. If you would like to seek a local provider under your protection agreement, please be sure to get pre-approval from the Protection Agreement team or you will not be reimbursed for the service. You can do this by calling 1-800-469-4663 or by visiting https://www.agreementbenefits.com/ to request approval. Thank you” I’ll call them tomorrow. Trying to be grateful that Joe really doesn’t want any Thanksgiving celebration or feast. I’m so angry I’ve given myself a headache. Now I see why I need to meditate, my equanimity shot out the window and emotional resilience is nowhere to be found. The only silver lining is that I have not yet self-medicated with red wine.

Not just a little uncomfortable either. I've always worn gloves for gardening and dishwashing, and anything where my hands could get smelly or mucky, and not thought about it that much. But when you're throwing clay, you can't wear gloves. I would get more and more clay-covered, and the muddier I got, the twitchier I got.

However, you just can't walk away to wash your hands when you're working on the wheel. I dealt with it long enough to make the pieces I made for the class, but I watched my classmate just revel in working on the wheel, and she was absolutely in heaven. She was even in the lab last night while I was finishing up my glazing, and she was throwing even more pieces. You could tell how much she loved it.

As for me, I'll paint all day long, but can't handle being dirty... Seriously, Freud would just have so much fun poking at my tattered little twisty psyche. Ah well. Luckily, he's dead.
