My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.
Start Weight (from Dec 31st, 2023 ): 183.8
Goal Weight: 179.8 (4 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)
Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
01/01-181.6-(Trend Weight: 180.3)-
01/08-179.8-(Trend Weight: 181.2)-
01/15-183.4-(Trend Weight: 181.3)- I had to get a new scale this past week so I don’t even know how accurate the “whoosh” was at the last weigh-in. I started on the new scale at a much higher weight than I’d been seeing of late. A little may have been the unaccountability and self-sabotage as I waited for the new scale, but some of it surely was the difference in scales. My fat % is also MUCH MUCH higher on the new scales, consistently over the past couple of days since I received it from UPS. However, my visceral fat is MUCH lower. I’m confused but can only begin tracking my data now, where I’m at, and take it from here.
01/22-184.2-(Trend Weight: 182.7)- It’s been a rough week, including travel. Less exercise than usual too. I am frantically working to turn this ship around and actually had an overnight drop this morning. It’s a big boat so I’ve got to be patient but it’s beginning to turn. I am aiming for a two pound loss this week when I usually aim for one. Focus, Focus, Focus.
01/29-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-
01/31-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Hi all!
I'm Michelle, 34, live in MN.
My goals for January are to:
-Lose 3lbs; i haven't been exercising much at all so that's prob not gonna happen 😅
- log food daily ✔️
- exercise at least once a week
Starting weight is 153.2, current weight is 152.3!
I tend to weigh myself every Sunday morning. Could anyone give any insight on what is the best time of day to weigh yourself? Is it a personal preference?4 -
Hey y'all! I'm Rhiannon. I'm a stay at home mama to my 5 kiddos and trying to lose the baby weight before my wedding in October! Cheers!

Hello! I'm in my early 40s, and I live in the Northeastern USA. I've gained quite a bit of weight over the past few years, and I'd like to turn that trend around before it causes me any serious health problems. My primary goals for 2024 are to recover from a chronic injury and get back to a healthy (or at least healthier) weight by losing an average of 1-2 pounds per week.
Jan 1: 216.7
Jan 8: 212.3 (-4.4)
Jan 15: 209.2 (-3.1)
Jan 22: 214.5 (+5.3)
Jan 29:
Total change for year: -2.2
Average change per week: -0.73
Week 1 reflection: I was pretty flexible in week 1, with calorie deficits ranging from 295 to 865 per day, and averaging 670 per day. Math/science suggests that's enough to result in about 1.34 pounds of fat loss, so I'm sure most of my loss this week was just my body flushing out water. I expect the progress on the scale to slow down considerably from here.
Week 2 reflection: I stayed flexible in week 2, with daily calorie deficits ranging from 395 to 816 and an average daily deficit of 648. This should equate to about a 1.3 pound loss, so I must still be losing water weight too. I have a few foodie friends visiting from out of town this coming Friday-Sunday, and I plan to eat at or above maintenance level with them before getting back on plan next Monday. So, I'm expecting the number on the scale to be higher next time I check in.
Week 3 reflection: I experienced a spike on the scale after an indulgent weekend, which I expected. As of today (Jan 23), I'm already down 2+ pounds since yesterday, so I don't think I set myself back too badly. I'm sure I'll experience plenty of ups and downs this year, but I'm going to ride them out and stick with this.4 -

You'll get the most consistent numbers if you weigh yourself first thing in the morning, without any clothes, after using the bathroom.

Needing some accountability so here I am! 42F/5.5"/149 lbs.
My lowest weight was 136.6 in July and my first goal is to get back to that weight.
Ultimate goal is 130 lbs.
I don't have the healthiest relationship with food and get obsessed over what I eat and tracking makes it worse so I've decided to be kinder to myself by just eating more mindfully and getting in some form of daily exersise. I've also been doing IF (18:6) and it's really helping with some of the "food noise".
I would like to weigh in weekly (Fridays) with everyone to keep track of results.
Jan 5 - 149.2 Weight hasn't budged but definetly feel better, sleeping better and less bloating from IF
Jan 12 - Too afraid to step on the scale. Signed up with a local weight loss center for help.
Jan 19 - 147 Still IF, AF and sticking to my eating plan. Feeling good
Jan 27 - 145.5 It was hard to stick with my plan this week but I did it. Had some wine and pasta last night so cravings have been satisfied and back on track today

Hi everyone - I am a 54 year old Mom of 5. In November I found out that my blood pressure was sky high so I started a weigh loss journey. In November I weighed in at 264 and am now down to 248.6.
I loved Darlene's goals and emojis so I am borrowing her idea below:-
My Goals for 2024
⚖️ Get to my Ideal weight - get to 199 (One-derland!)
👣 Log 10,000 steps a day
📝 Track my food
🥗 Stay under my calorie range
💪 Exercise daily (at least 7 hours of pickleball per week plus some strength training)
🧘♀️ Meditate Daily
💦 6+ glasses of water
Starting weight - November 17 - 264
Today's weight: 248.6
Total Lost: 15.4
I do weigh in Wednesdays!

Hi everyone,
Discouraging! ! Once again I lost my footing along the path, but I am determined to get back on track! I promised to be 100% honest; so here goes:
DEC 31: 146.2
JAN 07: 146.4
JAN 14: 148.0 (Whaaa...?)
JAN 21: 148.4
JAN 28:152.6 (Really overate yesterday!)
JAN 31:
Total weight lost in January: 0 (+6.4 lbs. Gained! OOPS.)
I'm sure some of this gain is just temporary due to eating salty, fatty food (lasagna and meatballs with garlic bread!) as well as a few beers late last night; so I'm hoping some of that water weight will go away by Wednesday morning, January 31st and that I can continue to stay on track for February.
Oh well... I'm not giving up, even if now January looks like a total flop for me so far and I am forced to enter "damage control" mode! I know I can fix this though. I'm in it for the long haul.
Have a great week! 💕6 -
I'm 66 YO, 5' 2" and starting my 2nd month in this challenge. Two years ago I was 125 lbs; I started 2024 at 147 lbs.
My goal for 2024: to gradually lose the weight by changing the habits that hurt me and to learn how to integrate and maintain healthy eating habits for good.
January goals:
* continue my exercise routine- which has been pretty good
* eliminate evening snacking- which is my downfall
* weigh every day- which I avoid and then gain
* log in here every week on Monday so I can't pretend the weekend is "free"!
1/1: 146.6
1/8: 142.6
1/15: 141.4
1/22: 140.2 (a day early, we're away and traveling tomorrow)
1/29: 139.2
Starting weight: 146.5
Goal weight: around/under 142
Actual: 139.2
Loss: 7.4 lbs
A successful month! Initial weight loss included holiday "uptick", so I expect it to be more like 1 lb/wk for February
February goals:
* continue exercise routine, weighing and logging- I know what works, now do it.
* continue to make good choices every day, enjoy food appropriately and within healthy numbers.

Week 4 reflection: Gotta love the crazy swings. I returned to my flexible, moderate approach this week, with calorie deficits ranging from 526 to 844 and averaging 664. All in all, I'm very pleased with how January went. Being flexible and eating more on days when I'm hungry has kept me from being preoccupied with food, versus always aiming for 1200 calories/per day or a 1000 calorie/day deficit.5 -

01/29-181.6-(Trend Weight: 183.2)- I worked hard for this drop, often going to bed hungry. When I get off track the cravings begin full-force again and the hunger on the restarts are horrible. I wish I would remember those repercussions when I’m making the bad decisions to stuff the wrong things into my piehole. In the meantime, I’m grateful for the 2.6 lb drop this week. I’m reaching for the 170’s again and my arm is.....a..l..m..o..s..t.....long enough.

Morning, I'm weighing in a day late as just returned from a week break in Spain. I over indulged. Afternoons at the beach bars, snacks and food galore. Had a great time and a much needed recharge from work.
I'm content with not feeling bad about a weight gain this past week. I wanted to enjoy myself and I did, and I can, and that's ok.
