My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.
Start Weight (from Dec 31st, 2023 ): 183.8
Goal Weight: 179.8 (4 pound loss)
End of Month Weight: 181.6 ( 2.2 lb loss )
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)
Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
01/01-181.6-(Trend Weight: 180.3)-
01/08-179.8-(Trend Weight: 181.2)-
01/15-183.4-(Trend Weight: 181.3)-
01/22-184.2-(Trend Weight: 182.7)-
01/29-181.6-(Trend Weight: 183.2)- I worked hard for this drop, often going to bed hungry. When I get off track the cravings begin full-force again and the hunger on the restarts are horrible. I wish I would remember those repercussions when I’m making the bad decisions to stuff the wrong things into my piehole. In the meantime, I’m grateful for the 2.6 lb drop this week. I’m reaching for the 170’s again and my arm is…..a..l..m..o..s..t…..long enough.
01/31-181.6-(Trend Weight: 182.9)- 2.2 lb loss this month. I know I could have done better in January but I am grateful that there is still progress as I dust off this holiday weight. I have a good feeling that I will accomplish more in the shortest month of February than I did in the longest month of January. Hope. Always Hope.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Hey everyone, I'm Crystal. Posted here a couple of weeks ago but got a little off track and needed to re-group. Went to the dr and got a physical. Found out that the scales I've been using is around 7lbs off, so my weight is showing more than it was a couple of weeks ago. I have a newer scale now that weighed me the same with everything I had on at the dr so I'm going to be using it from now on. I honestly was real upset at first but realize that my weight is just a number and we all have struggles here ❤️.
February goals are to still stick with around 1200 calories/day, 70-90 carbs and low sugar. I also am doing IF (16:8) which I have been doing for a long time anways. Plan to walk 5-6 days/week. Weigh in days that I post, after today will be on Wednesdays. Good luck to all ❤️

02/01-183.4-(Trend Weight: 183.0)- WTH? I did NOT expect this. Could it be the travel & restaurant from two days ago? Could it be the birthday celebration complete with cake/ice cream catching up? Could it be day 2 of no TMI? Could it be the worst sleep last night that I’ve had in years? Maybe it’s all one big ball of wax (or fat) all rolled up into one. In any case, I feel cheated when I probably shouldn’t. Looks like I’ll be spending much of this challenge chasing my own tail.

Happy Monday!
I have had a mixed week. Mostly eating well throughout the week, but I had my wine and pizza weekend rather than cooking. I thought I would have gained again, so I was very surprised to see the number on the scales this morning.

I'm 66 YO, 5' 2" and starting my 2nd month in this challenge. Two years ago I was 125 lbs; I started 2024 at 147 lbs.
My goal for 2024: to gradually lose the weight by changing the habits that hurt me and to learn how to integrate and maintain healthy eating habits for good.
January:January goals:February goals:
* continue my exercise routine- which has been pretty good
* eliminate evening snacking- which is my downfall
* weigh every day- which I avoid and then gain
* log in here every week on Monday so I can't pretend the weekend is "free"! 1/1: 146.6 1/8: 142.6 1/15: 141.4 1/22: 140.2 (a day early, we're away and traveling tomorrow) 1/29: 139.2
Starting weight: 146.5 Goal weight: around/under 142
Actual: 139.2
Loss: 7.4 lbs
A successful month! Initial weight loss included holiday "uptick", so I expect it to be more like 1 lb/wk for February
* continue exercise routine, weighing and logging- I know what works, now do it.
* continue to make good choices every day, enjoy food appropriately and within healthy numbers.

Hello! I'm in my early 40s, and I live in the Northeastern USA. I've gained quite a bit of weight over the past few years, and I'd like to turn that trend around before it causes me any serious health problems. My primary goals for 2024 are to recover from a chronic injury and get back to a healthy (or at least healthier) weight by losing an average of 1-2 pounds per week.
Jan 1: 216.7
Jan 8: 212.3 (-4.4)
Jan 15: 209.2 (-3.1)
Jan 22: 214.5 (+5.3)
Jan 29: 207.6 (-6.9)
Feb 5: 205.6 (-2.0)
Total change for year: -11.1
Average change per week: -2.22
Week 2 reflection: I stayed flexible in week 2, with daily calorie deficits ranging from 395 to 816 and an average daily deficit of 648. This should equate to about a 1.3 pound loss, so I must still be losing water weight too. I have a few foodie friends visiting from out of town this coming Friday-Sunday, and I plan to eat at or above maintenance level with them before getting back on plan next Monday. So, I'm expecting the number on the scale to be higher next time I check in.
Week 3 reflection: I experienced a spike on the scale after an indulgent weekend, which I expected. As of today (Jan 23), I'm already down 2+ pounds since yesterday, so I don't think I set myself back too badly. I'm sure I'll experience plenty of ups and downs this year, but I'm going to ride them out and stick with this.
Week 4 reflection: Gotta love the crazy swings. I returned to my flexible, moderate approach this week, with calorie deficits ranging from 526 to 844 and averaging 664. All in all, I'm very pleased with how January went. Being flexible and eating more on days when I'm hungry has kept me from being preoccupied with food, versus always aiming for 1200 calories/per day or a 1000 calorie/day deficit.
Week 5 reflection: I started to get bored and impatient this week, but I stuck to the plan and looked for ways to vary my diet a bit. Average daily calorie deficit was 582 (range: 309 to 820). I've noticed my clothes are feeling a little looser, so that's been nice non-scale reinforcement.3 -

02/05-184.6-(Trend Weight: 183.2)- This has been a horrible last few days with me really going out on a rail. I made homemade chicken noodle soup to last a few days. I really didn’t need that pasta that was in it. I was totally triggered for carbs and more carbs which is pretty dangerous for my diabetes and doesn’t help my weight since diabetics tend to store it as belly fat. I know what I have to do but doing it is the hard part. But there is one thing harder, and that’s doing it consistently. Win some, lose some. Right now I’m losing lots of some.

Hi everyone, checking in again, 44 year old Mum of two girls, now 3 weeks post reconstructive surgery for breast cancer treated a year ago. The surgery and all of it has left me quite discombobulated so I'm struggling to prioritise everything I've got going on, let alone myself, so no movement. I also keep forgetting what I've eaten and also to track. I will keep trying and hope to gather some momentum again like I was pre-surgery.

Hey, I'm Crystal! ❤️ February goals are to still stick with around 1200 calories/day, 70-90 carbs and low sugar. Also to walk 5-6 days/week. I did change things up a bit, as I was doing IF 16:8. I had been doing that so long I think my body got used to it. Started OMAD on Monday (Feb 5th). Seen a little loss since last week. Slow but I'll take it.
