@trooworld I’m sorry your BIL is in the hospital. I hope he gets better soon. The zoo sounds fun. It’s good to be outdoors. I’m going to walk around the block after lunch since it is sunny. @theslightedgeforever How are you doing? Hi, all. My meal last night was good. This morning my son and I went grocery shopping. He’s making ATK oatmeal cookies with marshmallow fluff, similar to Little Debby Cakes. We bought more protein powder as it was on sale. We got the vanilla ice cream and the strawberry one. We found a protein pancake recipe on the Web. I’ll let you know tomorrow how it is. Also I want to make Skinnytaste protein breakfast cookies.

Morning all, won't be long, baby girl running a fever again. I have never had a kid with so many fevers. It's been 100.00 since yesterday. I have to keep her home from school and that doesn't help her. UGH. My eating is so so, not great but I am watching portions. I have Long John Silver yesterday which is horrible food wise, but only ate about 7 fries and 1 fish plank and (2) hushpuppies.... I usually eat all the fries and both pieces of fish..LOL So progress.. no exercise, but baby boy is keeping me active. my watch says so..LOL

@trooworld So sorry about you BIL..hope he gets out soon and the dogs..I would have ran. LOL. Hope your healed quickly too. Great job on the loss.

@fabgeekmom I have been using shakeology, not totally fond of it, it was a bit grainy when I started the protein mix. but it has grown on me. I have been making cake mugs with it instead of drinking it. Baby boy loves it..LOL Hopefully your son will be calorie aware now.. :). But you got this no matter what!!

@theslightedgeforever You are doing good. Always see what you have done and don't look at what you haven't done. But you know this already. We are cold here and I just don't LIKE the cold. LOL

@trooworld Your day at the zoo and coffee shop sounds like fun. And you got a lot of steps! The meal you prepared sounds delicious. Hi, all! The cookies last night were really good. Very decadent. The nutritional information in AtK was for 16 cookies but the recipe made 12. What gives? At any rate my son, daughter and I had already tracked the calories listed. Oops! This morning I made protein pancakes and they were good. My son found a blog, healthyrecipesblogs.com. I am going to see if I can find more recipes. Tonight we are having ATK Honey Sriracha Shrimp for dinner with rice. It serves 4 and I may eat less than a serving since ATK recipes are really large.

@cbabie Sorry baby girl is sick. You showed portion control with your fast food. How do you make the cake mugs?

@fabgeekmom Glad you liked the protein pancakes? I always hate to change since I don't like bad tasting pancakes. Mine are so good. lol

@trooworld The dung beetle sounds cute. Good for you for getting in the steps. Plus it was fun doing it. Your meal sounds good.

@cbabie Does baby girl have some kind of infection? Remember I always had strep and fevers when I was young. Good on you for the shakeology. I'd just rather have real food. They don't fill me up. I'm sure it's all psychological. Like I was just having a glass of choc milk.

@trooworld The shrimp was good but a bit too spicy for DH and me. Next time I’ll serve the sauce on the side. I hope your hand is better. The antibiotics should help. Hi, all. It’s cold here again. (Please Mr. Ground hog, bring us spring!). I’m staying home and working out on the bike. Dinner tonight is Smoky Chili- garlic pork burgers from Milk Street Cookish.

I’m sitting here in the drive-through. Waiting for a prescription for the baby girl. She got an anabiotic. She has an ear infection. I’ll try to catch up later on the post. Just wanted to check in with everybody.

@fabgeekmom My pancake recipe is the traditional Betty Crocker recipe that was in her book about 40 years ago. I've tried through the years to tweak the recipe making it healthier and it just doesn't taste as good. So I have 2-3 4" pancakes every Friday. What is really good is to put a SF pumpkin puree on it. Yes I'm ready for spring.

@trooworld Sorry about your hand. How am I? Busy. I haven't tracked since Saturday. So unlike me. I always track. I've not had alot of down/alone time which is part of it. So now I need to learn the skill of keep tracking when I'm super busy and no down/alone time. Anything can be mastered. I had friends over for breakfast today. I still have 2 more commitments this week and a maybe. Hopefully the maybe will get pushed to next week.

@cbabie Sorry about the ear infection. At least now you know why she is sick.

    Still working on myself

@theslightedgeforever Some recipes are best left alone. I see what you mean about the pancakes. Finding time to track while busy can be hard. But can be learned. Baby steps. @cbabie Sorry about baby girl’s ear infection. Hopefully antibiotics will clear it up.

@trooworld I am glad the hand is better. Too bad about DH. Also it stinks that the dietitian is not helpful. So you will have to find snacks that satisfy that sweet and salty craving. Hi, all. Dinner last night was good. Everyone enjoyed the meal. We’ve been eating salads every night. My son made ATK blue cheese dressing with low-fat ingredients. 1 tablespoon was plenty. Tonight I am preparing ST American Goulash. It’s so easy to prepare and since it serves 6 we’ll have leftovers. Today is a swim day.

Morning all, it's been raining here for the last couple of days and the wind is so cold!! My exercise is null, and my eating wasn't too bad yesterday. I have 2 sick kids and all I did yesterday was either rock one or sit on the couch and her lay in my lap. It's just life and at least I can be there to do this.

@trooworld I hope your stress level goes down. That's worse that eating bad food (in the book of Cbabie). LOL. No really, I get the driving in the rain and when my loved ones are sick I am stressed, I hate sickness. So I pray he gets better and you have peace.

@fabgeekmom Yum love goulash. We almost never have left overs. LOL My Dh will eat whatever we have and how much we have. Good for you on the salads, I need more greens in my life. :)

    Gotta run, baby is coughing

@trooworld Sorry about your DH being sick and your stress. @cbabie Too bad about children being sick. It’s good that you are able to hold and rock them. I hate the rain and being cold, too. Hi, all. My son is off today so we had omelets for breakfast. We went grocery shopping and got ribeyes on sale for tomorrow night. Tonight he is making ATK fried chicken sandwiches with coleslaw. I’m making polenta. Yesterday he went to BJ’s (a club similar to Sam’s) and bought a 4 pound container of chocolate protein powder for $16. It was on clearance.

@trooworld I’m glad your DH is better. Hopefully the fever will go down with the meds he’s taking. Good luck with the dogs. Hi, all. The chicken last night was really good. I made the polenta in the microwave in the afternoon and put it in the refrigerator to harden. I put it in the broiler when it was time to eat. Tonight is steak night and we have ribeyes. Today is a swim day. I hope everyone who is sick or has a sick family member gets better.

@fabgeekmom He's not really that better so we are going to urgent care this morning. The nurse practitioner he saw on Weds said if he's still got a fever by today, to go. Thank you. I love polenta. Sounds good. Great job with the swim! Thanks for the well-wishes.

Hi all. As I said above, I'm taking my DH to urgent care this morning, he's still got a fever. He's feeling a bit better but still not well. We are supposed to go to the pug rescue's Valentine's Day party today but we probably won't now. Last night, we just bought stuff for sandwiches again. I think I'll cook tonight though: since it's Lunar New Year, I am making Beef and Broccoli. I was going to make Longevity Noodles as well but decided it was too much work to make both. I don't even know if my DH will eat, he hasn't been eating (he's nauseated and not hungry).

    Water yesterday: 12 oz

My phrase for the year: "New year, new me!"

    Hope he feels better soon!

Morning all, still have sickness in the house...kids are still not up to par...I woke up with a sore throat and feel like a cold is trying to get me...but I am going to run fast. LOL. Eating not so good, ate 2 frosted sugar cookies last night..LOL I made Easy beef stroganoff with ground beef and instead of Worcester sauce, I grabbed the Teriyaki sauce and didn't realize until the meat was doused....so I decided to go ahead and make it to the recipe, everyone really liked it..(you never know). They asked for it to be saved for leftovers.. pretty unusual around here. No exercise, I just read 21 min of walking is very good for all kinds of stuff...I am wondering if I can make that commitment..

@trooworld so sorry to hear DH is still sick I hope they give him something that works. It stinks to be sick..I don't care who you are or how old or young you are. Don't worry about anything else, but your DH and you. Everything else will work itself out.

@fabgeekmom yea on the protein. It's great to get a deal, you always can say this was worth the cost..LOL. I will have to look up polenta not sure what that is. LOL. I came for a mom that hated to cook and my MIL was even worse..LOL. No wonder my DH will eat whatever I put in front of him.

@trooworld Sorry DH is still sick. Beef and broccoli sounds good. @cbabie Sorry everybody is sick. Beef teriyaki sounds good. The cooking I do is nothing like the food I grew up with. Hi, all. Steaks last night were good. This morning we had veggie omelets. It’s warmer today so we are going for a walk. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow. That always happens when it gets warm in the winter. Tonight we are eating at an Italian restaurant.

@trooworld Violet is so cute! Glad you had fun at the pug party. Learning Spanish will be a good thing. I love looking forward to a trip. I hadn’t thought of Valentines Day. We’re planning a birthday meal on the 20th for my granddaughter. That’s ATK pan pizza, chocolate cake and Oreo ice cream. And salad to make it a little healthy. Tonight we are watching the Super Bowl at my daughter’s house. Normally we are not a family that watches football, but the Chiefs are in it, and as I mentioned before my son and daughter are Swifties. My granddaughter is pulling for the other team, possibly because she’s tired of hearing so much about Taylor Swift. Or some of her friends are pulling for that team. My daughter is preparing Skinnytaste appetizers and my son is making ATK banana bread.

@trooworld Your meal sounds good. My granddaughter wanted to watch the puppy bowl but she was outvoted. Hi, all. I had fun at my daughter’s house. We ate in the living room while watching the game. I read a book and kept up with what was happening in the game. The halftime show was good. We didn’t watch the whole game as my son had to work early this morning. Actually my DH was and I watched an episode of Father Brown. Today is a swim day. Dinner tonight is American goulash that I froze last week.

I'm all caught up reading. My dance card has been booked the past four days. Bookclub, firepit party, I know I had something on Saturday but don't remember what. Yesterday I turned 60. Went to Texas Roadhouse and then to a separate restaurant for a piece of cheesecake. That was my bday cake. I didn't want a whole one left over for days sitting on my counter as I know I would keep eating it. This morning I was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast but she didn't sleep well and didn't hear her alarm. So I waited a bit and then ordered my breakfast for take out. We'll do it next week.

I'm beginning to make a habit out of going to the gym at 11:30 a.m. I'm shooting for Tues-Sat. So we are getting one piece of the puzzle in place. I made the apple cauliflower salad for lunch but then realized I didn't have enough apples so I sliced some figs up and threw those in.

@trooworld How is your hubby now? The pugs are so cute

@cbabie How are the kiddos? On the 21 min of walking, ask yourself instead How can I make this commitment? The answer will come.

@fabgeekmom They ought to make the game earlier in the day I think. Everyone is always so tired the next day. I was glad the Chiefs won. We love to watch football. I'm more of the half-time show person in the family though. But I usually sit and read and watch.

@gemwolf110 How is this semester? You keeping up with everything?

@theslightedgeforever Happy birthday! Way to go with the exercise and portion control of the cheesecake. It sounds like you have a lot of fun activities. We were also glad the Chiefs won.

@fabgeekmom I'm trying to make little changes here and there. It's so frustrating when I think about all the things I used to do that I no longer do and I'm still just as fat. But I keep hanging in there. Still lots of habits I need to change.

@trooworld Sorry about your dr visit. Usually drs won't give a patient that much time. Is there another med that could be substituted that wouldn't have the same side effects? It would be nice to be able to have good mental health and a thinner body. The gnocchi sounds good.

I walked today for 42 min. Onto tomorrow.

@theslightedgeforever Small changes are good and more sustainable in the future. Stop thinking about what you used to be able to do. I go down that rabbit hole, too, and it’s never productive. @trooworld Unfortunately some doctors don’t give good advice and I think have a lot of ego. I’m glad you had a drama free day and DH is better. I’ve been wanting to try the chicken gnocchi soup. Hi, all. I have had a busy day. DH and I went grocery shopping. He bought me red roses for Valentines Day. When we got home I made roasted red peppers and tomato soup. It was really good. I rode my bike and talked to my cousin. Also did a Peloton workout. I baked Skinnytaste breakfast cookies. I used PB2 to save calories. Also used 2 tablespoons currants and 2 tablespoons Lily’s chocolate chips. They look good. I’ll have 2 for breakfast tomorrow morning with 1 egg and coffee. Tonight is family dinner. My cousin got us a deal on crab legs and my son is preparing them. Salad and boiled red potatoes plus Italian bread.

@trooworld I really do appreciate that I live so close to my family. I could walk to my daughter’s house and my cousin who is like a sister lives nearby. That soup sounds good but I don’t think I can find chicken sausage. I’ll have to look for it. Hi, all. We’re not doing anything different for Valentines Day. Swim day. Burgers and fries with salad for dinner. Our crab legs were good last night. I have 2 packages in the freezer for another night. My breakfast cookies were good. I gave 2 to my daughter last night and froze the others for later.

@fabgeekmom Your food always sound good. Especially that roasted red pepper/tomato soup. I love tomato soup in the winter. I need to make some.

@trooworld You know your body better than anyone. If you've tried that many then probably best to stay on it. Although I was laughing to myself. I'd rather be a *kitten* and thin. :D We really don't do anything special on Valentine's Day. Your jewelry sounds fun. I had picked out a recipe for some Valentine Day wafer cookies but then decided we don't really need it. Best not to make them.

I walked 25 min on the treadmill. I put on a walking video through Hawaii. When it looked like I was going up a hill I put on the incline and then back down again when necessary.

Also I had ordered some shoe organizers and rearranged my shoes and purses. It looks so much better now. Now I need to do my jewelry.

Just an observation I had: I'm drinking water in the same mug I used to drink tea in while I post to you all. Another small change I'm trying to add to my life. I hope all these changes start working somehow.

AFternoon all, I have to leave to pick up baby girl from school, but wanted to pop in and say morning. I have been so sick and tired of congestion and cough. Last night baby boy decided at 1 he was up and wanted to play until 3:30...so today I am working on staying alive, staying alive..LOL.

I will go back and read all the post, but this page I read... @trooworld listen to your Dr who knows you. I read your post and thought to myself we gets all kinds of "educated" advice, but in reality we know our bodies and we should listen. Glad you found out what causes you to drink more water..I follow a group and her "plan" is water and veggies first. Drink 16 oz when your first get up and the drink that before each meal...then veggies.. LOL. I am learning new things too

@theslightedgeforever little things do make a difference...just keep tweaking!!!

@gemwolf110 great job on getting done before your deadline..glad you stopped in to let us know.

@fabgeekmom I haven't had time to read all the post, but I am sure you are cooking something good today! :). I will read and see what you have been up to while I was out "ill".

@cbabie I was glad to hear from you but sorry to hear you still have sickness in the family. Baby boy playing in the wee hours is hard. I know you are tired. Learning new things is good! @gemw1010 I am glad you are doing well with your schoolwork. @theslightedgeforever Good job on finding a way to walk on the treadmill that holds your interest. @trooworld Good job on training and drinking water. I like ice in my water, too. Hi, all. I was busy this morning with a doctor’s appointment and grocery shopping. DH and I went for a walk and it wasn’t too cold. After lunch I rode my bike. My son is home today and made seafood stock from the crab shells. He’s also making air fried chicken and coleslaw for tonight. I’m making polenta.

@trooworld It’s really hard when you do what you’re supposed to do and still gain weight. I know because I have been there. At any rate you are doing the right things and eating healthy. Also it shows you need the surgery. But I am sure you already know that. The bike is an indoor bike. I forgot to specify. I have not ridden a bike since I was a child. I tried a few years ago but my balance is off and if I fall I would really hurt myself. Plus traffic is horrible. The enchilada bowls sound good but my family would want some kind of grain. I did something similar with turkey chili and I was the only one who liked it. Hi, all. I’m feeling stiff this morning. Luckily today is a swim day. Tonight is steak night.
