this was taken last night.
I guess I am not the only one that likes my super soft fleece and sherpa blankets. That is my side of the bed.
Heading over to mil's to walk her dog- my usual Tuesday-
Dh is a bit irritated with me, again- this time because he didn't have any clean underwear. I didn't realize I was behind in getting it done- not a big deal. The washer is going now.
He is going out to lunch with a friend. I will stay home and clean out the freezer of the kitchen fridge-it is leaking for some reason
Sunny but chilly here.
May start pruning my roses before the next rain storm hits tomorrow and Thursday and Saturday.
Also should spray my nectarine but will have to wait until it dries out.

Pip--Looks really nice and refreshed.
Barbie--Glad you dentist went well.
Rita--I do hope you find your apple watch soon. I know it drives me nuts when I can not find something I know is around close.
Going to be another day in the low 50's. Spring is on the way.

They all made fancy high sugar cookies and were very competitive about it. I was quite embarrassed. That was when I thought I could cook if I really wanted to do it.

Annie, darlin', I once thought anyone could cook if they were willing to follow a recipe, but as I said, I followed the recipe to the 'tee' and pretty much ended up with wall plaster. So in other words, the choice of recipe also has a lot to do with it!
And... I just went off on a five-paragraph rant about a husband that wants to keep everything in the known world 'just in case' he might need it for something he plans to build later... and then accidentally deleted my rant The universe is telling me something...
I've got a guy coming in at 4 p.m. to give me a bid on getting rid of the boat that's been sitting at the treeline since we moved here. In Texas, they call that "yard art," and Corey is never getting rid of it, so I'm going to get it done if this guy gives me even a slightly reasonable price. Talked to Corey about it at lunch, and he is not terribly happy about it. Luckily, he does not hold a grudge. Because anything else I get rid of will be a fight, so now I have to decide what battles I'm willing to fight.
Love my husband with all my heart and soul. Sometimes that is a very, very good thing.
Love y'all!

Lisa I think a big piece of knowing how to cook is being familiar with the specific equipment. For example, I know that this oven is usually 25 degrees below the setting. And I know which knife is sharp and which pans are not really non-stick. So I'm doing better at cooking here just by trial and error. But I still stick to very simple meals.
After snow this morning, it's sunny and windy out.
I'm going to sleep until the fronts pass through. I don't quite have a migraine but I sure feel cranky.

In order to keep to my agreement with John, I got on the phone to the doctors at 8.30. There is a phone queue, I was 17th, despite ringing on the dot, but they operate a callback system, so I was able to leave the queue. They rang back in just over 30 minutes. I got an appointment for this afternoon at 3 pm.
Done that. I have an appointment for tomorrow with the nurse for bloods for autoimmune markers. My blood pressure was sky high, but I was very excited, so I suspect that was temporary. I will take it again at home.
John went to the dentist and got antibiotics for his sore gum. It's where his plate fixes in, so he's a bit gappy at the moment!
I rang G at 4 pm and got the lowdown on her holiday. She loved Montpellier. Then I wrapped the presents for tomorrow.
The pancakes tonight were fantastic, but I ate far too much, Two ham and cheese and three (!!!) lemon and sugar. If I say so myself, they were perfection.
So, all good.

Still no watch. Since I feel better today, will try to remember and re-enact my steps when I lost it. Has to be in RV according to the
Find My app, so need to try something!!
Going to try to do my squats today. Skipped 2 days now to get back to it!!

Did you tuck in a blanket or tuck away towels or something? Something where your arms reach in under a mattress or between towels or clothing?
No to all of those. I parked close to the RV, took stuff out of car, both front and hatch (have stripped the car a couple of times now), put groceries on floor of RV then finished picking up stuff to go in house (checked the area behind the nearest seat, under the table which is sometimes used for storage and everything seems to ‘disappear’ there A few times), bathroom, stripped through. These are the only places I could check. There is two more I can’t get to where my DH stores his ‘save for later’ stuff. I need to go through those as he hasn’t yet. Not his watch so not his problem. 🙄 Can’t do it this morning as I need to get bloodwork this morning which means a 3 hour trek into town and back (1/2 hour to and from, then 2 hours for bloodwork and errands). I need to strip that area down later today.
It is indeed frustrating, especially now that the battery on the watch is dead and my phone no longer can connect to it. The last report showed the low battery level, so I know it can’t be anywhere else but the RV b/c the phone connects by Bluetooth.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Rosemarie, for many years I have written down every cent that I spend (just like logging every bite and swallow of the food I eat). The act of writing it down and seeing it on paper has helped me be more mindful of how I spend my money. Because of that, I am a very intentional shopper and spend money only after careful and thoughtful reflection. I don't "go shopping" for recreation. I ask myself questions about every purchase I make and don't buy things impulsively. I don't keep a budget or a spreadsheet.
Barbie in NW WA
Dh "goes shopping for recreation " almost every SINGLE day. In store or online, he is always shopping
The only activity we ever do together, including eating meals, is shopping. We will eat together if we are out shopping and he is hungry and we stop to eat.
Even when he goes out with his friends for lunch. He drives and they tag along while he goes shopping.
Sometimes he is shopping for his mom but other times, just something for him to do.3 -
Hi! Hope I'm doing this right, as I have not been on MFP in a loooong time. I saw this group listed in the Community section and wanted to give it a try. Happy Fat Tuesday, the last day of Mardi Gras.
Machka--I love your pictures of the botanical gardens. So beautiful!
Debbie--Your "cat pile" is adorable. I have a dog that will scooch under all the covers when it gets colder here, lol.
Lisa--I was stationed in San Antonio for a few years while in the Air Force and I certainly get the term "yard art"! We have it in NC, too, LOL. Hope you get the boat sold without too much trouble.

Spoke with my next door neighbor about the eerie bird-in-pain sound I heard early yesterday morning. She didn't hear a thing and walked her property to see if she could find remains of an animal. Nothing. Somehow we got on the topic of wills. She said she was hesitant to get one set up because her husband verbally promised some distant relatives they'd get part of the estate when he passed. She's afraid he'll put that in a will and the house would have to be sold out from under her if he passes first. Something similar happened to her when her previous husband died and she lived in another state. I encouraged her to see an attorney to ease her mind and figure out her options. So scary and worrisome for her.
My hens definitely heard the eerie bird-in-pain sound. It scared them so much that they didn't lay eggs yesterday. But had 2 eggs waiting for me when I checked the coop this morning at 7.
Regarding the trees under the powerline - I left a message for the guy at the electric company and haven't gotten a call back yet. But I spoke to my next door neighbor who has had lots of dealings with them and he said don't fret. They'll bring in the crews and really trim the limbs back and take care of everything, plus they can enter from his property - there's a gate - and not come through my yard. Whew.
Make it a super day, ladies.

A friend of mom's passed away suddenly and her and her husband had not taken time to get her will changed after they got married a few years ago. She was given years ago land and a house. His name is not on any of the paperwork so it will go to her kids and they are going to make him move out. He has done a ton of work fixing it up and now he is trying to find a place to move after just loosing his wife.
She had a heart attack in their yard and died right there.

In the fridge with the groceries?
One time we had planned on going shopping. Couldn't find my check book- looked ALL over.
Finally found it in the fridge.
I hadn't put it there but my son put it there because he thought if I didn't have my check book, we couldn't go shopping. He was about 4yrs old at the time.
Was driving us crazy. Dh was sure I had lost it.

Mags - Welcome! And unfortunately, it wasn't "selling," it was paying someone else to take it. Which is OK, because the guy coming to give me the estimate bailed, and Corey and I have finished fighting about it, he's too afraid I'll pay to have someone take his stuff, and I'm tired of fighting.
Yes, it will bother me, no, it doesn't bother him, but he swears up and down he will get it down "in the spring." I told him after that, I'm setting it all on fire. I hope he believes me! Even after 15 years, he still thinks I say things I don't mean, and he is still wrong.
Love y'all,

Heather - I have the same problem any time I go to a doctor's appointment. I'm on medication for high blood pressure. But I have what's called "White Coat Syndrome", where you get a high blood pressure reading in a doctor's office and a normal reading at home. The anxiety of being around doctors in white coats makes my blood pressure rise. The doctor and I always joke about it whenever I see her.
Mags - Hi and welcome!

Debbie What is happening to your mom's friend's husband happened to a lady my sister worked with. She and he had been together for 20s yrs, but never married, nor did wills. He died suddenly on vacation. His adult kids wouldn't let her back into their home without a police escort and proof of what was hers! When I heard that story, I told my now DH (we had been together about 13yrs at that point) that he had 1 of 3 choices since my life was so wrapped in his....1-marry me, 2- get will made out, 3- I needed to get my own place and work. It took him a year before he asked me to marry him. Yes, my name still needs added to a property or two, wills still need done, but at least we are on the right path. The only immediate family he has is his sister....yes the one that is my other "boss". Still need to get other stuffs done. So sad for the husband.
Today was okay. I hit noise overload. Time for bed. The good things, I hit water goal and stayed under calories!
Welcome to all the new ladies! We will get to know you as you continue to post. We were all newbies at some point!
Love you ladies and thankful you are in my life.
