@martaindale Great treadmill run! I hope you are able to run the trail in person. That would be cool. Congrats on reaching your month goal and glad you are feeling more like yourself again.
Enjoy your vacation @ContraryMaryMary . Very pretty there!
Congrats on your miles @SummerSkier . You did great this month!
Great job on meeting your monthly goal @steviebee888 . Good luck on your 10K today. Looking forward to hearing how it goes.
What a cool place to hike to @chris_in_cal . Who is your partner in crime?
Great running @tarun_yadavA ! I love how you snuck in the 200 miles you did last month again. Congrats on 180+ for this month.

@ContraryMaryMary crossing the date line?! That's cool. Enjoy your trip!
@quilteryoyo hahahaha! Unintentional sneak-in there; good spot! 😂4 -
Finishing the weekend strong and hope to keep it up for July
Another hot humid run but felt stronger and planned for 4 and got 5.4 in
Comparing progress to last year it looks like I am exactly on target to match the walking/running intentional miles of 2096 in 2023 total. Currently at 1051 with 759 running and 292 walking for the first half. I think I would like to try for 1600 miles for the year running but we shall see how things go. Happy to be playing tennis a couple times a week as well again this month.

@quilteryoyo I've been thinking so on rest but I need the mileage. My initial thought process was, if TRIMP or injury metrics are based on distance and HR, then if I pick a god and pray the HR is more weighted than the distance, I can decrease my risk for injury. This picture just tells me I'm overdue for an injury but so far I'm feeling really good. No hip pain, knee pain, or front quad pain. I've exchanged that all for boredom with these Z2 runs
@ContraryMaryMary this is the actual cheat for giving yourself more time to rest. Need to adopt this strategy. Definitely enjoy!
@tarun_yadavA I aspire to get to this conservative mileage. Nice job!
@chris_in_cal awesome view. Mountain trail runs are no joke. Congrats!

5 miler at Z2 yesterday. Super humid. I felt like I was dying and ran out of water during my last mile (luckily). Felt okay. I kept getting more angry at my HR level increasing out of zone. I recall this being a lot harder than it used to be when I did the Garmin 10K training which is an improvement, I hope.
Avg 125 BPM
Max HR 140
Avg 159 SPM cadence
11 miler today. Will be doing it at Z2 so I don't disturb the injury risk metric.6 -
Very grateful for the cooler temperatures today for my 10K. Now, for a shower and a nap 😴. Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone!

Thanks to my date line hopping, I get the unique pleasure of logging both the first run and probably the last run for June. 🤗
We’re staying a a fabulous resort here in Ratotonga but we couldn’t get a beachfront villa for the first couple of nights. This meant that we had to move villas first thing this morning. I wanted to run but was told I had to help pack, so I couldn’t get out until 9am. 🙄
Humidity is at 86%, temperature is 25 (dew point is 22) and breezy (thank goodness). I started out well but then the sun came out from behind the clouds and I simply got too hot and I hit the wall at about 7km. My heart rate went through the roof and I was forced to take walk breaks. 🥵
The upside is as soon as I got home it was straight into the pool to cool off while my hubby and eldest headed out and got donuts - fabulous recovery food! 😎
The downside is my Garmin says I’m unproductive and dropped my V02 max by a point. ☹️7 -

Shankar is in the San Diego River Foundation and he led the hike to Lillian Hill to show the acquisition. About 20 people showed up. From that hill it looks over something called "The Three Sisters" waterfall, a series of three drops.
Without the haze the ocean is visible 50 miles away.8 -

141.52/125 miles completed for June
I ran 10.25 miles today to finish out June with 141.5 miles. I should have gotten up earlier. It was 81°F, feels like 85° with a dew point of 72° when I started out at 7:50 this morning. By the time I was finished, it was 90°F feels like 93°. The dew point had dropped down to 67° . It was a hot run, but it wasn't too bad for most of the run. I was able to find a good amount of shade for about the first 8 miles. And there was some breeze. It helps so much to have shade. I felt really good most of the run, but the last 2 miles were tough. I carried water, but I forgot to put it in the fridge last night, so it was a little too warm at the end of the run. I ordered some of the salt tabs so hopefully I will have them before my next long run.
Glad you had cooler temps for your race @steviebee888. That's a cool medal!
@ContraryMaryMary Looks like a great spot to recover from the heat!
Congratulations to all who reached their goal this month and to all who gave it their best effort. See you all in the July thread.

Nice strong finish for the month @SummerSkier ! Great mileage so far for the year too.
@VO2Maxlet I'm glad you aren't having any pain anywhere. I'm sure you will, but just listen to your body. I'm all in favor of taking it easier on longer runs to minimize the impact.
Congrats on the 10K @steviebee888 . I love that medal.
@AlphaHowls Amazing mileage and streaking.
Nice running @emptydog .
@ContraryMaryMary Great job getting in a run and then cooling off in the pool. I'm sure moving villas to one with an ocean view was well worth the effort and shortened run. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
It's a beautiful area @chris_in_cal . I'm glad the do-gooders saved the "bridge" for the wildlife.
Nice hot run to end June @kgirlhart. Congrats on exceeding your monthly goal too! It is amazing how much cooler it feels in the shade.6 -

I did a treadmill walk after church and before lunch. Brought my total to 72.00 miles for the month. Only 8 miles short of my goal. I'm not upset about that since I did more other things than I had planned.
My totals for the month were:
45.48 miles of fast walking in 3h35m41s
26.52 miles of running in 6h01m41s
5.26 + miles of other intentional exercise (gym, tennis, mowing) in 23h17m38s

@ContraryMaryMary - what a fantastic place to vacation! I mean just the view is incredible! Enjoy your time there and your 'extra' day!
@noblsheep - welcome back! Good to see you getting back into the running routine!
@steviebee888 - Love the 'She Power' race! I did one of their HMs a while back. The medals and shirts are always so nice and yours is beautiful! Great job getting the race done! Was it virtual or in person?
@chris_in_cal - I have heard f the Three Sisters, have wanted to hike there but haven't made it there. It looks like an awesome area.
@AlphaHowls - I am so glad you got through that storm and back home safely!
Another great month of running @SummerSkier especially with the hot weather you all have been having.
All of you in the hot and humid locations I don't know how you manage to get out and run! We have lots of heat right now but our humidity is very low. Unfortunately between the dry heat and wind we end up with wild fires and lots of bad air. With us being already in the 90's and triple digits in many areas I am really worried what it will be like in August and September as those are typically our hottest months. I have been getting out for neighborhood walks before it gets too hot for Hobbes. Today I used the walking pad instead. It was already too hot when we got up this morning. I am also continuing my Peloton strength program. It is fun and this last one they started in with weights (YAY). So happy to feel like I am doing something positive to help my body build back some muscle.

@quilteryoyo bracing for impact.
Congrats everyone on finishing up June strong.
I just finished my 11 miler. Did it at a slow pace. I swear, every time I do a Z2 I go through all 5 stages of grief. Today's denial was "this is gonna be a great run" and the bargain was food. I passed an H-mart on the way back and wanted to just run into the lunch aisle and Kirby gorge everything in sight.

Neighborhood 1Mile (at 13"05 pace). streak day 61
I did my 5th "June Sunday two-a-day plan," today, as I also ran 3.07 miles this morning at the lake. It was smoking hot and I thought I was going to stroke out.6 -
