07/04 …..186.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/05 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) Today is my no-weigh Friday due to my schedule. How convenient that it happened to come the day after a Food Holiday! I actually kept the calories pretty reasonable but I know the carbs were through the roof. I also know that I should have just kept off the buns like @quiltingjaine, but I didn’t. The higher carbs are never a good thing for me, especially with T2D. It just re-routes all my food to fat storage efficiently and automatically. Hopefully tomorrow’s scale reading won’t be too bad after yesterday’s Epic Fail since I did get all my weeds pulled in the morning and some other outside work done for some extra movement. However, a day of carb recuperation in-between is very welcomed (and probably needed) I am sure. Have a great weekend everyone.
07/06 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) My grandson is staying the whole weekend with me, unexpected, so I didn’t get a chance to weigh this morning as he woke me up and had me hopping! It probably would not have been pretty anyway. I will likely weigh in on Monday and skip tomorrow as he’ll probably beat me up again and also because I have not exactly been on point this holiday weekend. Weighing in is nothing that can’t wait I suppose. That scale is not exactly going anywhere although I’m tempted to chuck it in the trash from time to time.

Hi everyone! I’m 34 years old and 164 cm (5’ 4,5”). I have a very sedentary life, since I am a PhD researcher. I work mostly from home. I’ve been overweight since I was 18 and since then I’ve gained more and more. In the last 1,5 years I have been between 103-105 kg (227-231 lbs). My ultimate goal weight is 70 kg (154 lbs), but firstly I want to go below 103 kg which I stuck for 1,5 years. Then I hope go below 100 kg (220 lbs) to two digits which is a psychological boundary.
I started on 20 June, it’s still early days so being consistent is very important throughout this challenge. I aim to take 1600 calories a day and reach my macro goals. I am not crazy strict, but I don’t wanna be too loose and off the track either.

I am so happy to see this!!! I didn’t see this number for more than a year! I cannot wait for 102s! Yesterday I ate too much carbs and fat however the calorie amount was fine.
7/06 - 102.8 kg
I can’t believe this! In the last year, many times I have tried to lose weight but after a few weeks I have stuck in 103s. I have never managed to reach 102s for more than a year! I am so happy it works this time! Yesterday I ate less than my calorie goal. My macros are a bit off but more protein and less carbs then usual so I take it.
7/07 - 102.4 kg
Interesting… The number is still decreasing. It’s nice to see though. I just need to be careful about my water intake, I think I didn’t drink enough yesterday. Other than that, I ate all my calories, macros weren’t too bad. I am doing all right.

I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my morning coffee.
Rnd 265 End Weight 176.4
7/05- DNW
7/06- 174.6
7/07- 175.4 Total self sabotage. 6am me was strong with big intentions for her day. 6pm me was eating an ice cream sundae for dinner after floating on/in the river reading a book for the entire afternoon. I did have a great workout in the morning and the rest of my eating for the day was good.
Today will be workout/work morning but plan to be on the boat by noon to enjoy the afternoon floating. We plan to dock for a late lunch/early dinner, there is a big salad I am looking forward to. Enjoying summertime life.
I am also not doing some paperwork and desk things that I do really need to do. At the very least I will try to get an accurate list written and work on scratching off the boring things I have been procrastinating. None of it is terrible, I just don’t prioritize it. I do love crossing something off of a list, that will help me.6 -

About Me:

F65, 5’6” married, MawMaw Proud. Clean P:E (ProteinG> (Cg+Fg) A clean/whole food WOE- (🚫processed foods). Track macros, all fitness and NSVs. HW 172lbs in 2010. Lost 16lbs Aug-Nov 2023. 7/31/24 will be one year in this challenge!
👇🏻July Level Up (Down) Plan
***************************
I pledge to prioritize each of these #HSF choices EVERY DAY of July:1. P:E: Proteing greater than 1:1 vs. Energy g. [Pg > (Cg+Fg)] (and kcals = avg. maintenance).I will continue this nutrition plan through July. It is supposed to support muscle gain with fat loss while 🏋🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️ 🎾. I will continue to track NSVs/macros/ activities, etc. to learn about my body.
2. 🙏📝 🧐 - I will continue to pray, journal, research. This is my aspect of “leveling up” because I am nothing without my relationship w/Jesus Christ. I’ve also grown into loving/enjoying learning about my body & healthy aging. Replacing BAD habits w/ GOOD habits is a journey in itself. This practice helps me stay present /mindful of many decisions/ thoughts/ actions that impact not only nutrition, but improves self-talk & interactions w/others.
3. 🏋🏼♀️this is my biggest challenge. I still don’t like it. Not one bit. I have some days that it clicks, but it’s a daily struggle. Living “fake it till I make it”… Faking my “identity”. My hope is that some 🏋️♀️version eventually becomes a healthy habit. I’m working on a minimum of 10-minute “🏋🏼♀️snacks” 2-3x per day, 5x per week. Gosh, how I wish someone, ANYONE would have told me in my earlier years that 🏋🏼♀️is the key to fat-loss / maintaining - NOT cardio. I was brainwashed.
4. Healthy Aging - includes mobility, flexibility, balance and agility. While I do stretch every morning plus “stretch snacks”… I want to up this game… I will start to add “sprints” (which is NOW only fast jogging… 😂) and plyometrics (celebrating a 2” vertical jump) 😂. I read to “sprint” is vital as we age…..
5. I have much “work” to do with family relationships. Won’t detail here, but it’s a challenge & my overall health will not flourish without this being acknowledged and improved. Mind, body & spirit are connected. I won’t be fully content until I reconcile this part of my life.
6. Sleep- This is a big one. I’m usually fast asleep by 8:30-9PM. I can’t stay up later…. I love getting up early. I’m good with a 5AM wake up but I want to sleep soundly through the night. Will continue to prioritize this key component to health and well-being…
7. Have fun… lighten up … & give myself permission to be spontaneous. (This is THE HARDEST)!!!!
👇🏻Review since my 1st R231 7/31/23 NSVs/Journey Reflections

1. ✅HSF: Avg. close to 9k steps per day for 11+ mos. Not bad. It’s no longer a “daily goal” because it’s now a daily healthy habit - #HSF 👏🏻🤩
2. ✅#HSF: 🙆♀️ Daily stretch greatly improving my attitude & confidence.
3. ✅ #HSF 📝 🙏 everyday
4. ✅#HSF: I play 🎾about 4-5x per week.
5. ✅#HSF : Z2 💕avg 60 min/day
6. ✅#HSF : zero to 15g of net carbs/ day
7. ✅Clean P:E 115-130g Protein
8. ✅#HSF Naturally IF 18/6. Eating window=noon to 6PM. (At least 5 days/wk)
9. ✅#HSF 💦80oz daily
10. ✅#HSF Alcohol limited to rare occasions.
11. 7 to 8 hours sleep per night is a goal. Sleep is still inconsistent the last few rounds…
Staying in the present moment is key to mental health and healthy choices.
Rotating 115g to 130g of protein per day is now a non-negotiable. In my dreams, I want to be 130lbs #HSF … 😎 I want to be Healthy, Strong & Fit to live out “Chapter 3” enjoying a full range of mobility, flexibility & activities… !

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! DH and I did our annual town “Four on the 4th 🇺🇸” (4 mi run or walk). great time. I love our quintessential little town & I love the 🇺🇸!!!
I read this AGAIN yesterday:

✅July Level Up! 💯 P = 149g; P:E 2:1 🏋️♀️30 min 🚶♀️5.5K. 🛏️💤8 hrs.
Rained most of the day, but I was able to get in a short structured jog/sprint/walk/die session. 🏋️♀️ during Wimbledon. I’m so proud of myself for plyo- doing 3 sets of box jumps & jump rope… I also sprinted 3x during a 1 mile jog - WIPED me out If anyone saw me, I looked like a total dork. Sore this morn. New muscles activated. It’s a start! Even achieved 60 min of Z2💗. 🚶♀️under average today because of the rain.
My protein was super high yesterday because I made the most delicious poached chicken salad… A dab of Primal mayo with celery and fresh rosemary. Smoked salt. Protein shake, too. Divine. Who said healthy food had to be boring or taste bad?
Thank God, my DH is 100% supportive … He’s a cyclist and kite boarder… eats healthy & active every single day. He’ll be 70 in October.
I don’t know if all this activity will lengthen our timelines, but we sure are enjoying our active lives.
Hope to see my DGS today. Walking early to beat the heat.

Another extra high protein day - we’re still eating chicken salad & enchilada leftovers… 😎 Very positive day. Grateful & present. Today: 🎾weather permitting & 🚶♀️. Taking a 🏋️♀️rest day.

I ate really well yesterday. Very low carbs for me. @chapter_3 my P:E ratio was 1.13! I snacked on grilled chicken breast, which really filled me up. I precooked a few and they are waiting in the fridge.
I took a long walk. 4.5 miles, which is like child’s play for you @musicsax . I don’t know how you do it.
Here we have two examples of how we help each other.
But, today I am going to a Chinese buffet with my family to celebrate my Birthday, then all heading over to the nursing home to include my dad in the dessert phase. This could involve a few carbs.

@quiltingjaine: great idea to pull the extra bread away- unless it's great bread, it's too doughy anyway!

I’m a serial dieter/gainer whose weight has varied by 50 lbs over the years; I’m working to change my relationship with food. I joined this group in 12/23 at 147, lost 22 lbs and reached my goal in 4/24. I’m now working to understand my patterns so I know where my pitfalls are. My goal is to remain within the same 3-4 lb range for good!
The goal is to return to my routine of eating healthfully, weighing every day and working out consistently with a varied routine.

7/5 - 124- Starting greater then last round- in a bad way... Darn these long holidays- I know deep down I am bloated- went out to Mexican food Wednesday. My son is in town this weekend, celebrated my birthday he missed yesterday...continuating the eating bad today, took him out to dinner. EEEkkkksss! I will be lucky this round to get back to 124. I still have parties to go to Saturday and Sunday!!!! Played some great pickleball this morning spent all afternoon with my son cleaning out his room in hopes the house sale goes thru. Stress is getting to me even though I keep praying to God I am handing it over, another FAIL. Hope you are all doing better than me!
7/6 121.8- Funny how that bloat just leaves...plays with your mind, convinces you "You can never lose weight!" I know I went out to dinner Wednesday, I knew i would get bloated and yet still felt so defeated until surprisingly elated this morning. Spent yesterday cleaning out the storage area of my basement. Wow so much junk. Playing pickleball this morning, and party this afternoon. Will get myself bak to tracking and weighing then.

@_JeffreyD_ Yea, I guess that did sound bad. I'll have to tell you though, I can usually hold my own against that 6 yr old DGS lol. I clarified and changed it to "he'll probably beat me awake again". Thanks for pointing it out. It definitely sounded abusive!2 -
[quote="Skyleen75;c-48177081"[/quote] I used to make lists of what I wanted to accomplish during the day. Then I would get sidetracked and accomplish something else so I would add it to the list and never get the original list marked out!_JeffreyD_ wrote: »"he’ll probably beat me up again" @deepwoodslady that didn't sound right.@quiltingjaine: great idea to pull the extra bread away- unless it's great bread, it's too doughy anyway!
My favorite part is the crust and store bought subs use not great bread. IMHO

07/05 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW)
07/06 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) My grandson is staying the whole weekend with me, unexpected, so I didn’t get a chance to weigh this morning as he woke me up and had me hopping! It probably would not have been pretty anyway. I will likely weigh in on Monday and skip tomorrow as he’ll probably beat me awake again and also because I have not exactly been on point this holiday weekend. Weighing in is nothing that can’t wait I suppose. That scale is not exactly going anywhere although I’m tempted to chuck it in the trash from time to time.
07/07 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) No point weighing on the last day of a 4 day holiday weekend. I will lose some bloat and weigh when its more reflective of the actual damage. DD and DGS go home this evening about 7:00 pm.

I changed it to "beat me awake" instead of "beat me up" but I now realize that it doesn't sound much better. Sounds like he'll take a 2x4 to me while I'm snoring! Lets just say he will wake up before I do. LOL. I'm against violence in all forms6 -

I’m so glad the chicken breast helped your “ratio” … and … additional chicken breasts in your fridge are available. I truly did not realize the importance of protein until recent research (especially for us old farts! 😎). Good luck.🍀! And wishing you a wonderful birthday celebration today and on your special day!3 -
@quiltingjaine: great idea to pull the extra bread away- unless it's great bread, it's too doughy anyway!
@musicsax: the old bike is very cool too, are you keeping both or did you "trade in"?
We traded the old one in, although I have my licence from when I was 19, I only ride pillion these days, the bikes are both too tall and too heavy for me to handle when stationary, at traffic lights etc. Sometimes I consider having a smaller one again for me, but then cuz I walk everywhere I don't really think I can warrant having one to sit in the garage. No, I'm happy to be chauffered these days 😁5 -

7/7 - DNW - stopping in to finally log in after 4 days away. I was away celebrating the holiday at our family cabin. I had no scale so could not weigh. Cell service is sketchy at best, but I was also hosting a large group of people (there were 13 of us in total) and I did not have a lot of leisure time. Overall, my food choices were not great - but not terrible. There was a lot of food, snacks, treats, that are not part of my usual diet. I had hoped to go out on a few run/walks to test my foot while I was there - but had my feet come out from under me while walking down a slippery hill and landed square on my tailbone. I could barely move right after it happened, with pain shooting up and down my spine. After I got up and walked around a bit it felt better, but I could definitely feel it when transitioning from sitting to standing as well as walking so decided it was best not to try to push the running. Feeling better today - I can still feel it if I think about it - but the shooting pain has stopped and I was able to get the needed cleaning done after the guests left as well as make the 2 hour drive home without discomfort, so hoping that by tomorrow morning I can finally get my running shoes on and get out there if only for a few miles.

Everything went to hell during the move as far as tracking, meal planning etc.
I started off ok but by moving day (6.28) all bets off...and then afterwards....ha
But now time to reel it back in... I have a vacation in 3 weeks...Yikes
Still looking for my wireless scale (vs blue tooth)

74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
