@trooworld I hope that today was a better day. @cbabie 114 is hot! I don’t like spicy foods, especially for breakfast. I’m a retired teacher and I remember being sad when summer was almost over. Hi, all. Today was an interesting day. I had my usual walk before breakfast. DS is off today and was making hummus when the power went out. We bundled everything up and went to my daughter’s house where he finished making it. DH and I decided to walk home after a while as we live nearby. Luckily the power was back on so we were able to eat lunch at home. DS is making pasta with turkey sausage and marinara sauce for dinner tonight.

@trooworld I hope the dermatologist appointment went well. I have had nights when I haven’t slept much so I know how that feels. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. Tonight we are having tacos as we are having steak on Sunday for family dinner. DS is cooking.

@trooworld I hate head hunger. You drank alot of water the other day.

@cbabie Did you get in your exercise? Your dinner sounded healthy

@fabgeekmom Sorry about the truck. Although I love squirrels. lol When someone mentioned rodents I immediately thought of rats. Hate those. Your squash sounded really good.Yesterday I went late for my sunshine stroll and it was too hot on the way home. So I'm going to have to make sure I go early too.

So I stepped on the scale at my dd's house the other day. I think I had been here two days and it said I had gained 8 lbs. Plus my bodyfat % was 13% higher. My face was :o My bp was also up 30 points than normal. I had to stop my diuretic because it was causing my potassium to be too low. So I was put on another bp drug that increases my potassium. I just started it when I got here. I think it increased my water in my body. Although I don't know how that works with my bodyfat. I think if my body fat was 13% higher, my clothes wouldn't still fit. But I stepped on the scale in the gym tonight and the weight was the higher weight. :'( So anyways, there's that. I'm just going to start from where I am.

Meanwhile my hubby keeps pushing at me Belgium chocolates. My daughter brought me back a bunch. I took one truffle and have said no since. I went to the gym today and I'm tired. I tried kettlebells for the first time. Plus the weighted ball where you throw it on the ground. That is tiring.

@theslightedgeforever Sorry about the weight gain. That’s frustrating. Good job on only eating one truffle. And on going to the gym. @trooworld That’s good news about the mole. I hope you sleep better tonight. The chicken salad sounds good. It’s so hot and humid here. Cold weather actually sounds good although I’ll be complaining about it this winter. Hi, all. DH and I met 2 of my cousins at a bakery this morning. I had already eaten breakfast so I just had some coffee. DH got a piece of cheesecake and I didn’t even have a taste. DS is making lemon cake for tomorrow so it wasn’t hard to not order dessert. We ate at a Mediterranean restaurant tonight and I had stuffed grape leaves, a salmon kebab with roasted vegetables and a Greek salad. It was good and I had calories left for 3 small pieces of chocolate when we got home.

@trooworld 60’s at night sounds lovely! Do nuts are not my favorite either so I wouldn’t have any trouble with them. Good job on giving away most of them. Hi, all. It was too hot to do anything outside so I worked out on my bike. Our meal tonight was good except the steaks were too thin and were cooked too much. But everyone enjoyed them so that was okay. The cake my son made was awesome.

@trooworld I've been eating normally for me. Making good choices when I can. Of course always room for improvement. I don't believe the total weight gain was from my eating but from my new meds. Good news is I've already lost part of it. I have all kinds of chocolate here. She brought me back some fudge from her last trip. I just threw away some fudge before I came here when I cleaned out the fridge. Chocolate is usually not my problem. Good thing about your mole. I just had my annual mole check before I left. I'm good for another year. We're going to have some 50s this week at night. Bad thunderstorm here last night. I really only like two types of donuts. I've noticed that newer shops try to be too fancy on the decorations. It turns me off which is a good thing.

@fabgeekmom My daughter says I complain if I'm hot and complain when I'm cold. lol I love stuffed grape leaves. Unless they are spicy. I prefer sweet ones better than the lemony sour ones. I once tasted some where they used pomegranate molasses. I made them once. Too time consuming. You did very well at the bakery. I was looking forward to my son cooking for me but he's still on crutches so I didn't push the idea. He'll be leaving tomorrow so maybe next time he'll be able to do it. He basically only cooks vegetarian meals. Which is a good thing for me. I get in my veggies.

Yesterday I did my sunshine stroll in the morning and at night I went to the gym and did a hill/sprint combo on the treadmill. I'm still having lung problems cause I had to bump the speed down on my hills from what I usually do and I can tell on my sunshine stroll climbing the big hill is really hard for me right now. Yesterday I just kept my head down and kept focusing on the cracks in the sidewalk. Just make it to the next crack. I've been using my inhaler.

@theslightedgeforever These grape leaves are savory, stuffed with garbanzo beans and rice. It’s good that you have lost some of the weight. I’m sorry you are having lung problems. But it looks like you are forging ahead no matter what.

@trooworld That was a good idea to give away the donuts. I’m not a gamer but my daughter, her husband and daughter are. That will probably be fun to learn a new game. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. We ate leftovers from last week and finished the cake. Hopefully my son will not make any desserts until August when he makes a cake for DH’s birthday.

@trooworld That was too bad about forgetting your work laptop. It’s good that you could work from home. That’s true about my son. He does love to bake and it makes everyone so happy! Hi, all. We have another hot day so I will stay inside and workout on my bike. My son is grilling chicken tonight for family dinner. We have pitas and hummus. I bought some lower calorie pitas for me. I will also slice some tomatoes as we have a lot from the garden. Yesterday I had a sandwich with tomatoes, deli turkey, fresh mozzarella and a little low-fat mayo. I’ll have the same today.

@trooworld I’m glad you had a better day. The meal your DH made sounds good. Hi, all. Dinner was good last night and healthy, too. My DH was lamenting that the cake was gone. My daughter said we couldn’t have cake every weekend. I was thinking, yeah! DS said he’s going to make whipped cream to put on berries Saturday so that’s a little healthier. Today is a swim day and we have leftovers from last night for dinner.

@fabgeekmom My lungs are getting a bit better. I have reactive airway disease and occasionally I get flare ups. This seems to be one of those times. Now to just get my bp back in control. Interesting on the garbanzo beans in the grape leaves. I think mine are just rice some chopped tomato.

@trooworld There are more hills here vs flatter land at home. If I would just walk inclines on my treadmill all the time at home I wouldn't have a problem. Usually the hill doesn't bother me unless I'm having a flare up of RAD (reactive airway disease) I think I got it from years of cat litter dust and bathroom cleaners. I just like to play games like Parcheesi and Mexican Train. Buttered noodles sound good. I just bought me some noodles I was going to fix.

Another couple of days of going to the gym and getting in my strength training and some light walking. At least I closed my rings for 2 days. Plus we walked up to a coffee shop yesterday and got in a 40 min walk total. Tomorrow will just be a hill/sprint program. Possibly a walk in the morning.

@theslightedgeforever You’re doing great despite your lung condition. That’s really hard but you persevere. That’s my word, too. @trooworld Too bad about the surgeon’s nurse. It’s been my experience that medicine is very slow. I hope you get some resolution soon. Hi, all. The weather cooled down and I went for a walk. My plan is to go to the grocery store and work out on the bike. I walk so slow because of my disability that I don’t get much credit for the walk. Dinner tonight is turkey burgers, frozen French fries in the air fryer and tomatoes from our garden. I have gained a few pounds and need to get stricter. I think I have eaten too much dessert. It’s hard to turn down recipes made from ATK. Hopefully my son will take a break from baking until DH’s birthday in August.

@trooworld A concert and pizza sounds like fun. Good luck with the hair cut. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. Tonight is steak night. The temperatures are a little cooler so that’s good.

@trooworld I think that's how my mom used to make the egg noodles. I decided to turn my egg noodles into chicken noodle alfredo. It was really good. I only took a 1/2 portion and then filled the other half of the plate with salad. I was satisfied and I didn't go back for seconds like I usually do. I'm getting my hair cut next week. Just a little shorter and some layers. I don't like myself with really short hair. ooh, funk concert. I would like that.

@fabgeekmom At least you are keeping yourself mobile with your walking. Some people with the same disability would just sit and do nothing blaming the disability. You are doing great with your swimming and bike riding. A steak sounds good. speaking of dessert, I got into some monkey bread. I had the calories. Actually I gave up a second piece of pizza. Old me would have had 2-3 pieces and then ate the monkey bread anyway. I'm really working on portion control. I actually cooked some chicken and corn and nobody wanted that. I wasn't even in the mood for that. So lunch and dinner is already prepared for tomorrow.

Well good news is that my bp is now down to the 130s. The water weight I put on when I came has almost disappeared. I've lost a little over 5lbs of it. So just a bit more work to get me back to normal.

Yesterday I walked 40 min with hubby to a cafe and then later did my hill/sprint program at the gym.
Today we walked 31 min and I spent 49 min at the gym doing weights and a 10 min warm up on the treadmill.

    Hi all!

It’s been a busy challenging term for this class it ends tomorrow just have to respond to some discussion posts and finish a time consuming certification and I’ll be done. Hoping to get a lot of housework and yard work done that was put off due to the class this week before I get a molar extracted. Will have to take it a little easy afterwards.

Dogs are doing great with dealing with the heat. They much rather keep me company while I work than be outside thankfully.

Zumba and Aqua have been going good as well. I’m going to try a few new classes at the new gym when I’m clear with the extraction surgery and in between terms. If the extraction causes a hole between the dental and nasal cavity it would mean taking it more easy for recovery. So I pray that does not happen.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Think I need to start logging in on my computer as opposed to phone. Would be much easier with posting and responding.

@theslightedgeforever I’m glad the BP is better. That’s good that you are working on portion control. That way you can enjoy what you like. Good job on the walk. @trooworld That sucks about your car. Glad you renewed AAA. The membership has been a great help to us. We buy our son and daughter their own membership. My peace of mind for them is worth it. @gemw1010 It looks like you are doing well with all your challenges with school, etc. Zumba and aqua sound like good activities. I used to do water Zumba and that was fun. Good luck with the molar extraction. I hope that goes well. Hi, all. It got humid here and I was only able to walk for 15 minutes. But I worked out on the bike. Tonight is taco night and family dinner.

@trooworld Good job on the walk, especially since it was so hot. I feel your pain as I also walked in the heat. I was listening to a Taylor Swift playlist on Peloton so that was fun. That must have been uncomfortable waiting at the dealership. That’s good that the warranty paid for most of the cost. I forgot to mention earlier that our car insurance paid for most of the bill to replace the gas line. Hi, all. It’s hot today and I’m glad I went for a walk. I also worked out on my recumbent bike. Taco night was good last night. We’re going to my daughter’s house for dinner tonight. She’s making turkey burgers. We’re bringing garden tomatoes and blueberries and strawberries. Plus whipped cream my son is making.

Morning all, Yes I have been MIA. 1 week ago, I had my new bridge put in and have had trouble with my jaw, but kept putting off calling them, thinking it would get better. (still haven't called them). I had 2 areas of basal cells removed this past Friday. I can't lift anything heavy (including baby boy) and really have't felt on top of my game. I took a semi shower today washed my hair in the sink, dried and getting ready to put make up on, hoping that will make me feel normal. LOL. So needless to say haven't really done much in the way of health. So trying to regroup today!!

I have read most of the comments but too many to reply to. I am hoping to be back in my routine starting today. (You have to start somewhere).

Thank you guys for everyone keeping in contact with each other..it's a great community and accountability we have here.

@trooworld Burgers and fries sound good. @cbabie I’m sorry you have had such a hard time. I hope you’re feeling better soon. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I’m cooking dinner tonight : spaghetti and meatballs from the Milkstreet pasta cookbook. I’m using turkey sausage instead of the 80/20 ground beef. I’m also making a few changes due to what I have. DS won’t say anything as he’s glad I’m cooking. I’m sure he’s tired as he gets up early to go to work.

I didn't realize it's been so long since I checked in here. Really no excuse. I guess time just flies.

@trooworld Too bad about the tire. I just added roadside assistance to my insurance today. It's just easier to have someone else do it. lol Sounds like you got in a good walk around your neighborhood.

@gemwolf110 Now you have me thinking about my two extractions I had. I hope I don't have a hole between dental and nasal cavity. I'm glad you are enjoying your exercise classes. I have to use the computer to type on here. Although I'm learning to use my dictation on my phone. That's quicker and then I just go back and review. I just don't always remember to do it though.

@fabgeekmom Yaaay on your walk in the humidity. I made some ground turkey tonight with peas and carrots and added some tomato sauce and spices and served it over rice. I did well by measuring out 1/2 c rice.

@cbabie Have you called the dentist about your bridge? What if it's infected or something.

No exercise for me over the weekend. Today I got in 42 min of walking outside. 10 min on treadmill; 42 min with weights; 11 min stretching. Food I was over calories by 42...so onto tomorrow.

Morning all, I wanted to get on here early before the day gets away from me. I did much better yesterday. I only took Tylenol in the mid morning. My jaw is a little better as well. I might call them as my bite might be off, but seems I have an appointment everyday this week. UGH. School starts in less than 2 weeks..can't believe the summer went so fast. I am ready to be able to move and workout. I noticed it seems my walk is stiff. LOL.

@trooworld Hopefully you won't be too hungry, maybe eat some protein? I keep a bar in my purse just in case...LOL.

@fabgeekmom Spaghetti and meatballs are always a hit here in this house. LOL. That's one food everyone loves. Hope you enjoyed your swim day. My kids have gotten into the pool every night..

@theslightedgeforever I don't have an infection, I think my bite is off and something is rough is poking out my gum in the back...I know TMI...I will call once things settle here. Too many other appointments going on. You are getting a variety of movement good for YOU!!

@theslightedgeforever Good job on the workouts. Going over is not that bad. @trooworld I hope you weren’t too hungry today. It’s good that you aare payt attention to hunger cues. @cbabie I’m glad you are a little better today. Having dental issues is really hard. Hopefully things will get better. Hi, all. Spaghetti and meatballs were good last night. We have another serving in the freezer for next week. Tonight we’re having a Milk Street Israeli couscous salad with zucchini and tomatoes. I have already made it. I also sliced some golden beets to roast or air fry. I’m going to brine some pork chops to grill or broil, depending on if it is still raining.

@trooworld Congrats on almost finishing your project. I know that’s a good feeling. Hi, all. Dinner last night was good. Today was a swim day. Tonight we’re having salmon. I hope we can grill it. So far, no rain or storms.

@trooworld I had the problem yesterday of skipping lunch and then snacking at night on popcorn. We took a quick trip to Minneapolis and back and then ate out to eat which I ate half of my salad. It was a big salad. I was surprised I was still within my calorie range.

@cbabie Seems everything about you is off. LOL I had a crown once that had a rough spot on it and it was hurting my cheek so I had to go back in and file it down.

@fabgeekmom I've never heard of golden beets. My mom ruined beets for me. But occasionally I will have them in a salad. I might look for them. I'm really trying to venture out. But have to really focus to do that. If I'm just in a routine, I end up making what I normally make. I still haven't found my groove yet here regarding my eating plan.

Today was just tired and chose not to exercise. Now I really need to work hard the rest of the week though. I got my hair cut and colored (took the highlights out). New me/new body. Isn't that the way it's supposed to go?

@theslightedgeforever If you prepare beets, they have to be fresh. The golden beets are sweeter than the red ones but if you can’t find the golden ones, the reds are good, too. Yes, I agree that a new haircut and coloring does a lot for one’s spirit. @trooworld I’m so sorry about the leg pain. I know all about knee and hip pain. You got good advice. I hope you can enjoy your Comic-con. That’s too bad about the power outage. Hi, all. Today was a rainy, dreary day. DH was I went to the recreation center and worked out on the recumbent elliptical. Then went grocery shopping. I bought more beets. We had burgers, fries and beets for dinner. DS made chocolate whipped cream to go on top of berries. I weighed one ounce and didn’t finish the small amount leftover. I wrapped it up for DH to have on berries tomorrow.

Morning all, sorry I skipped a couple of days..lots going on here. I am going soon to have my bandage changed, the ortho appointment at 2 for baby girl...Will be so glad when all this settles down. I guess trying to get it all done before school starts. LOL.

I don't know if any of you are on FB and it is not a prerequisite, but see below..if any of you want to do this challenge we could do everything here if you are interested.

I wanted to let you know about a challenge in one of myFacebook groups, in August. We are going to do a Reflect and Learn Challenge. It's about journaling every day and we'll give you three questions to journal about. All you need is a journal and a pen. Does this sound like something you'd like to do with me?

@trooworld I am sure it was awful with no AC, that happens here when it gets really hot...luckily not too often. I hope you have fun at the Comic-Con. I know you enjoy it. I think the same about my walk with my hip.. I have notice I waddle now. LOL

@fabgeekmom I love how you cook for 2 meals, use left overs, etc. what a time saver. (not hard on the brain either). LOL. You are an inspiration to me.

@theslightedgeforever I need to have a new hair style and I am not coloring it...but I think sometimes In need to, so I don't look as old. LOL. How did Mom ruin beets...I LOVE beets...LOL

Morning all, I am doing better at eating...I can't exercise and starting to hate that I am not moving as fast as I usually do, but this too will pass.

@trooworld I will DM you the link. I am so sorry your knee hurt like that..I totally get it though and the Dr gave great advise. I can't take Naproxen now and it truly with Tylenol was the only thing that kicked the pain to the curb. I love your pictures..you always make me smile with your activities.

@fabgeekmom I can't wait until we can eat out on the patio...It will be a while, but it's coming. Heat won't last forever. We had left over chicken tacos..LOL. I had a batch I froze last time I made them. It was great not to have to cook a meal.

@gemwolf110 Glad you are feeling better..love the recovery phase.

It was a little cooler today so I went for a walk. I also worked out on the bike. Lunch was a salad with leftover steak. DS is grilling chicken and has made ATK potato salad using low fat ingredients. I’m roasting beets as everyone enjoyed them last week.
