    Evening all
Went the the new Rheumatologist today ,he seems nice..not my Dr Pal but I only have to see him twice a year..
I have super low grade lupus which is great on my part.
And the more weight I lose the better off I'll be.

Lanette - I have Wellcare 50 cents a month and 4.50 a script and 11.20 for my Trulicity a month, for that I can handle it.
That candy is at the daycare ladies house, yes they get a ton of trick or treaters. Miles doesn't really know what candy is so thats good. But Josie keeps a gate up on the stairs to keep the littles out.
Will have Tracy send some pictures of little girl today.

Carol – stunning tree. If that were outside my bedroom window, I’d be looking at it all day

Heather - so glad your ex is getting better. Max looks so very grown up. Well, actually all the kids do

There is a “mandatory” meeting Wed. night at BK. I’m surprised that it’s at 6 since that’s during dinner rush (I would think). I suspect I know what it’s about, but I don’t want to jinx it so until I know for sure, I’m going to keep mum

Had bowling today. Found out one of the gals on my team broke her leg so she’ll be out for a while. I’m going to mention this to my neighbor. From what he says, it seems that he’s on the lonely side. Now if he could sub on our team where he knows people, that might help.

Allie – so sMiles has graduated to a real lawn mower??? The daycare lady gives out such huge boxes or candy? Wow!

drkatie – the trip and dinner sound like a great birthday present. Just not the shots. Happy Birthday!

Went to ceramics tonight and started on the frog that will sit on the top of the mushroom. I’ll post a pic when the whole thing is finished. Now to shower and get ready for tomorrow

About 20 different varieties, approx. 10 of each variety is 200, and here you'd pay about $2/bar = $400!!!

I've never spent that kind of money on halloween!! In Canada, I don't think I ever spent more than about $10. And halloween is not much of a thing here in Australia.

It's good if Miles doesn't know what they're all about. :)

I celebrated the big 7-0 with new shots in my knees, a trip to Gibbs Gardens with my mother, sister and childhood friend, and dinner at our favorite Mexican place with Dave.

Loving all the pictures! Posted these on FB, but this is the painting Corey and I did this weekend. The back of the house was painted already, but had to do the white trim and then all the blue and white at the front of the house. Busy weekend!

    Love y'all,

    Love the blue!

I miss our time trick or treating out at our clothing optional resort. For one, it wasn't too cold yet, and the boys brought simplified versions of their costumes. People decorated their campsites and hung a sign that meant they handed out candy. Most just had bowls of candy on a table. They always had some sort of kids art project on Saturday, plus an adults costume party at the lounge. Fun times!

Beth - I shared this on FB the other day. It goes well with your comment about the older generation.
    dlr59ev34zn7.jpeg

When I shared it my cousin commented that society has now made it almost impossible to have a stay at home parent that can have time to teach all of these things. I think that a lot has been ruined that is affecting so much, for example we aren’t even allowed to hang clothes out to dry in most neighbourhoods here now. It’s unsightly.

    Tracey in Edmonton

This is partly why we live where we do.
We're the next best thing to being rural here.
We can hang our laundry outside ... in fact, most people do. Houses here aren't built with room for a dryer.
We've put in a small orchard (2 apple trees, 2 pear trees, 1 cherry, 1 lemon, 1 lime, 1 mandarin) and we've got raspberries, blueberries and strawberries growing around the place. The berries haven't been placed in their final locations yet.
    We're planning a veggie garden.
We've got bees and will eventually have honey again.
We ride bicycles and can get around without a motor vehicle.

And I much prefer natural choices to be well, rather than medication, like eating a good diet - following the recommendations around various health issues.
I'm also trying to remain strong and fit. :)

But I can't make my own clothing!! I've never been able to sew ... can barely replace a button!

Lisa - Your house is looking very spiffy. :p The blue is gorgeous. I really admire your work ethic, but I know I couldn't do it any more. Even my husband is realising his limitations nowdays. Celebrate your strength while you can, it's a precious gift. <3

DrKatie - Such a great photo. You look wonderful!

A lot of people hang washing out here. I don't, but both my neighbours do.
Good nutrition is largely a matter of wealth and geographical division. Poverty drives poor nutrition, the well off eat well and are slim, with ample opportunities for exercise. The poor have few choices and obesity is a growing problem in some areas of deprivation. Junk food is an addictive go-to when life has slapped you in the face.
Here we walk everywhere, have high quality fresh food available around each corner, farmers markets, grow fruit and veg in our gardens, etc etc. We are eating our own plums we froze this year.
Many poor people live in food deserts, where fast food is on every corner. I haven't been near a fast food outlet in 30 years. I am such a privileged person. The lovely restaurant meal we ate with the family the other day would be some people's weekly wage. That even made me feel sad at the time.

    Good morning beautiful ladies!

Happy birthday Katiebug! You look marvelous!

    Carol that's a beautiful tree!

Lisa love the blue house color!

Allie glad you are home safe. Is lupus a new diagnosis?

Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm feeling better, as long as I stay under 500 calories of drab food. I'm back to cooking for Dad but I get dizzy if I stand up for more than a few minutes.

I kind of needed a CT scan but due to my time constraints and the medical system, I never got one. I have to go see the primary care doctor tomorrow before they will order any tests and by then it's the tail end of the episode so the worst symptoms might be going away. Such a messed up system. The only care I got so far was antibiotics and that is not recommended anymore. And the Imodium I bought for myself.

Next they are going to want a colonoscopy. So I need a sitter and a ride for that.

My sitter brought me food for Dad yesterday so that was sweet. She brought me chicken noodle soup but I can't eat that yet. I am going to try the grocery store later so I can buy some chicken broth.

Have a fabulous day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Lisa ~ Love the blue colors and white trim! They make your house so lovely.

Kay ~ Happy Birthday! I have never been to Gibbs Gardens but have heard it is a lovely place to visit.

Heather ~ The grands look like they are having so much fun!

Lanette ~ Was your husband Catholic? Sounds as if you had a caring support person for his last time with us. You and Beth must have had a ton of leaves. Glad we only have two trees that contribute.

I was very surprised to read about Wellcare insurance that some of you mentioned. Never knew there was such a thing but it sounds very good. Being a retired teacher, we are only offered health insurance from a couple of large insurance companies.

We have never had trick or treaters because the front of our house is on a busy street and there are no sidewalks in the front yard. We may get some this year as there is a huge subdivision at the back of our property and the houses there are very close together with barely any yard space.

I’m enjoying a lovely solo morning. DH has gone to play badminton. I love him dearly, but value these alone times.

Heather: I so agree. We are indeed fortunate that we can afford healthy food and have few stressors. I come from humble beginnings. We ate plain fare, and very few frills. Of course, I was 6 years old before rationing was abolished. There were very few overweight people around, except for the more affluent.

DrKatiebug: Happy Birthday! You look spiffing!

Annie: You are negotiating the trial if looking after your dad with great fortitude.

    Carol 🥰 that beautiful tree!

Lisa: Your house is so delightful!

    Allie: Welcome home.

🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

In B&H they only knock on your door if you have a lighted pumpkin outside. It's a kind of signal. We just turn all the lights off at the front of the house and stay in the back, and no one bothers us. Next door goes all out! :p They are raising money for charity with refreshments etc.
The kids were going to be away for Halloween, but they will be back in time as they had to cut the holiday short.

I went out foodie shopping instead of writing! :o Walked a slow mile, all in. Bought Dim Sum, focaccia, calves liver and escalopes. The Dim Sum lady remembered what I usually bought and fetched it for me as she was changing her freezer space around. I couldn't remember what they were called. Siu Mai and Har Kau.
No lamb neck fillet in the butcher. Sold out. Waitrose was also sold out. ;) We use it for Moroccan terrine, and a French stew with flageolets. Also Goan curry with sweetcorn, (should be goat). Also spinach curry. The butcher said he has one customer who buys the equivalent of 7 lambs' worth of neck fillet! He has to hide it!

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Over this past long, long weekend (6 days), I have:
    - organised a 3-day cycling event in northern Tas
    - cycled and walked quite a bit (24 km walking, 50 km cycling)
    - finished reading a book
    - got a little bit more caught up on emails
    - cleared out my 3-drawer night table ... I have one free drawer now!!
    - gotten most of the way through checking medications, and tossing a whole bunch of expired ones.

When I say "tossing" the medications, I mean, putting into a Ziploc bag so I can take them to a participating pharmacy to dispose of them properly. I have a lot of expired medication. When you're not really paying attention, these things can pile up.
