Congrats on your ongoing progress!! (You did much better than me, still stuck at 191 this AM) Of course this is my own fault - never been truer than you can’t outrun (or walk, or crawl, or even do hot yoga!) a bad diet…

Last night’s sleep was decent for me, FitBit scored me at 85. I was having a long & complex, anxiety-filled dream about the tree-trimming work I had done at the clinic today. Luckily none of my subconscious fears came into reality!

I was even able to stay on schedule to attend the funeral for one of our animal control officers which was exceedingly sad (gotta blog about it; as I sat in the service I realized it was a year & a day ago that we laid my BIL to rest… Seems like all I do these days is sign sympathy cards or go to funerals!)

    November 2 Meals

I stayed under calories but I did eat a large quantity of carbs.

I was having a sweet potato craving so after an early supper and before my time cut off I cooked some sweet potatoes and had them. They were so good. 98 net carbs is the most since the end of August. I wish S/P had more fibre.

My sleep score for last night was a 57. It sucked again.

Ugh, I feel for you! I duplicated my Friday night score of 85, even though it took me a while to wind down - I was dreading going back to regular time even though we gain an hour. I hate it getting dark earlier & earlier, I know I have some variety of SAD.
I kept on snacking around last night, finishing off the last two frozen waffles which has me up by a pound this morning 🤦‍♀️

I think my FitBit is stuck on 85 - it’s too coincidental that this is the third night for which I’ve gotten exactly the same sleep score!?!
There again, my scales are stuck too…

November 3rd, Meals, Steps & Sleep

    kxv8m9aklm9c.jpeg
I’m not sure how my steps became so many. It has to be the rocking. I just wasn’t conscious of my movement yesterday
    vptylfvr81yu.jpeg
Sleep was apparently broken. It seems after my first pee break it took a while to fall back to sleep according to Fitbit. When this happens I don’t know if any of the sleep is deep

(Screw you too, iPad! It just glitched and lost my comment when I was trying to post a photo; it’s being real funky nowadays)
    But I knew my stretch of B-quality sleep couldn’t last - last night I got a 76
    t4cs620pqqis.png
At least my scales have dipped down to 190 even; hopefully I’ll soon be below this miserable threshold with a little more concentration & work. I took a short walk Saturday night, disappointed to have soreness in my glutes & calves - I’m so deconditioned it ain’t even funny!
But my latest rescue is settling in nicely; how coincidental that the universe sent her to me the day after Drew’s funeral?
(read blog for details; i’m afraid to type anymore without saving this so it doesn’t get lost again)

I have had a lot of things happening lately and I just want to dive into comfort food. Drown my sorrows in sugar. The worst part is I may have to sell my dream (house&property) because my retirement fund is running out to of money. And the idea of having to pack up my house and downsizing has me feeling like *kitten*.

I succumbed to my sugar cravings. I’m not sure how long it will last.

My meals yesterday were 1/5 a cake, cookies and ice cream. I might repeat that today too

Yep, I succumbed to the lure of fast food yesterday: having a chili dog/onion rings for lunch & McNuggets for dinner. Ugh!
I had been promised dinner at mijo’s where I went after my acupuncture treatment, but he was dragging things out so much as we skimmed the news that I had to pack it in as Tina & I needed to head on home…
Both of us are sick about these election results as I’ve done my best to reassure him.
I don’t even want to look at my sleep, nor am I going anywhere near the scales for another day or two (ordinarily I do a daily weigh-in as an “oil check” of sorts)
My husband & I’m sure most of my employees will be jubilant - and hey, the stock market went up which is good for my decimated retirement portfolio (sorry to hear about your potential challenges). But who am I kidding, unless I win the lottery I have no hopes of retiring! Tina has gained half a pound; no luck in finding her owner so she’s snugly in my lap right now which doesn’t make Izzy very happy.

My November 6 food was nothing but sugar. My November 7th seems to be going that way too. I’ll be back to low carb tomorrow

I met my friend Donna (former owner of Silas, newly-minted owner of Bonnie the tegu!) for lunch yesterday, a somber post-election occasion although still great to see her… We basically did a swap n’ trade for a bunch of tack so that dear Silas can now have his own matching set. Aren’t we fancy?!?
She was coming down to the big city for her doctor’s appointment; she had gastric bypass surgery 3 yrs ago with many health complications ever since. Just another reason I have made my peace with being fat - sure, I’d love to feel better but health & strength are my current goals. Donna could only eat a couple of meatballs (I ordered a high-protein appetizer), and then shared a few spoonfuls of my mac n’ cheese. I had picked our lunch spot, which caught my eye for their $10 lunch specials.
Then I had to attend another dadgum funeral visitation for my girl Kristy’s adoptive grandma - seems like all I do these days is sign sympathy cards and attend services :(

I’ve got to halt this backsliding - I’ve gained 2 lbs & feel bloated, sluggish, and generally awful.
Long-awaited thunderstorms came pounding through last night so I’ve got to wait a bit before I can hitch up my trailer & go meet my friends for what may be a slip-n’-slide ride! (Certainly not complaining about the rain, it was desperately needed)
And here our power just blinked out & I really wanted to shower off…
    Here is Thurs night’s sleep:

That’s great - please tell me all about this sleep oil???
Although I did very well for myself, sleep-wise - crashing very early here in horse camp & netting a score of 85!
But my poor little Tina vomited last night, let’s hope it’s nothing worse than a delayed reaction to the truck ride. I really wanted her to be my new camping companion.

My diet is falling slowly back into line, although I did partake of our desserts during our bounteous potluck dinner last night (burned my tongue with tortilla soup, then we had potato salad & ribs - OMAD is progress)

Food for me was mostly sugar since Tuesday. New week starting so back on the wagon after my little vacay from healthy eating.

My sleep oil is a CBN THC combo. In Canada THC is legal now. I don’t smoke it, never have but they make a product CBN that helps with sleep. I’m giving it a try. So far so good except last night. I slept well until I got up to pee than couldn’t get back to sleep

Gotcha! I’ve been taking various CBD products which seem to help with my sleep, but I may check out one of the combo products. A friend takes THC at bedtime both as a sleep aid and adjunct cancer treatment (she’s a long-term thyroid cancer survivor like me, that’s how we met). I personally don’t care much for the effects THC has on me (basically turns me into an even lazier sloth), but maybe taking it at bedtime so I can “sleep it off” would be better?
While I slept great Sat night in horse camp, last night was miserable with the dogs barking at God-knows-what! At first my Fitbit gave me 3 hours, but then it linked my two periods of sleep together to give me 6 hours, which sounds better than it feels this morning. Ugh!

I was the same way last night. I slept wear to start off but couldn’t fall asleep again after I got up to pee. Then I slept after 6 am

Little Bit (Tina Fea) didn’t adapt well to her first camping trip** and has gone on a hunger strike. She vomited Saturday afternoon which I blamed on delayed carsickness, but I ran some bloodwork on her yesterday & uncovered some liver issues - great!!! that may be why she’s so skinny & why her owners dumped her (often times owners won’t take on the responsibility of euthanizing a pet with an incurable health problem - I guess they think slow starvation is better??)
I really hate the human race sometimes - but she ate a few bites of a different canned food last night, I got her meds down her even though this morning she didn’t want to eat again. We’ll struggle along for a bit longer, but if I can’t get her to eat consistently I will release her from her suffering.
For now we’ll make the best of things, it’s amazing how quickly one can get attached.
** we had absolutely perfect weather for my quickie overnight horse camping trip; need to go blog about it! Storing up those memories for when I really can’t do the things I wanna do anymore…

Last nights sleep was a victory. 9 hrs with over 2 hrs of deep sleep. I will try that combo tonight and see if I get the same results.

That’s great! These days it’s the best feeling in the world ain’t it??
I was able to meet up w/Z & V tonight for sushi which was big fun, I thought Z was going to ignore the text that I sent earlier, letting him know that I’d be in the neighborhood for my acupuncture treatment.
I’m sure I exceeded my RDA’s for sodium & MSG but it was worth it…

Last night’s sleep was “Fair” with a score of 74 - coulda used some more deep sleep! But the good news is, Tina Fea ate her breakfast, had a soft BM & seems to be feeling better. So on we go…

My food intake still seems to be sugar and bad foods. My sleep has improved but it wasn’t as good as night before last night’s. 9 hrs with an hr & half deep sleep. Now to get my food intake back on plan.

My weight is hanging at 193 - not surprising since this has been the week of Tex-Mex for me! I likewise must put a stop to it…
I took hubby out last night as his “reward” for trimming some trees for me, but as I said this needs to be the last hurrah!
I don’t know whether this dull headache I’ve been fighting for the past three days is nutritional, stress-related, allergic or a combination of all of the above?!?
Tina Fea is eating fairly well and taking her medicine so we will keep on keeping on... Momma’s gotta keep it together for all of my babies’ sakes.

Sleep was “aight” but I could do with a little more deep sleep & would love to ditch this headache
