When’s yr birthday, ar ar? I’ve already given up on my minor experiment of 4 ounces of red wine at bedtime - I am instead concentrating on my meditation…
I also slept fairly well last night, but I think a large part of it was knowing I did not have to have an alarm set this morning. My son called me last night after having a fight with his fiancée - all I can do is make sympathetic noises, although of course from what I’m hearing (just Z’s side) she is being unfair and hurtful: V said she “hated his voice”!!??!!
That seems to be hitting below the belt, although I admit when I try to call Z and get his voicemail, I quickly click off because his voicemail has a very officious tone, like his father - but I would never tell Zach that!!! That’s my hangup - when Zach was younger & having a growth spurt, I hated the fact that his long angular limbs reminded me of his dad… I was ever so grateful when Zach muscled up - he actually is a carbon copy of my dad’s body type. I love giving him a hug!

Pleasantly surprised to see 190.6 on the scales this morning… My top priority needs to be scheduling a dermatologist appointment, but yesterday we got hung up in a tremendous traffic jam coming back from visiting my mom - apparently there was a police chase, then a crash, and they ultimately had to shoot the fugitive - it was a mess!!!
Didn’t sleep well again - I was fretting about poor Zach as he and Victoria are going through another rough patch. I don’t think this bodes well for the future; at least they have not paid any deposits or booked any venues for the wedding yet. Maybe they’ve already cruised through their honeymoon period, having cohabitated for a couple of years now?? I’m just offering a sympathetic ear - not my circus, not my monkeys!!!

Oh. That does not sound good. I get where you are coming from the more you talk *kitten* about your son‘s fiancé the more he’ll want to stay. As long as you’re sympathetic ear, hopefully he’ll see reason and decide whether she is worth the trouble.

I didn’t sleep too well yesterday either

So I was nicely surprised when I weighed myself this morning. I’m down to 221. That is still 7 lbs heavier than the end of Oct. I’m still working to get to my lowest in this journey and then work to get lower. My bedroom seemed colder than usual last night. I got up 3 or 4 times to pee. Fitbit says I got 8 hrs sleep with a sleep score of 90 yet only 42 min of deep sleep and I do not feel rested. I feel chilled. I hope I’m not getting sick. dc5afao16zt5.jpeg Fitbit doesn’t show the 3 times I got up in the night to pee. I must have been so fast I did it while still sleeping. According to my bit.

I was dumb - I did not wear my longjohns yesterday so I came home chilled; it takes me hours to warm back up after that.
Peran thrives in this weather - he is never happier than being down in the woods getting firewood and keeping the stove fired up!
I promised my young man Tony we would go for a short ride today, but that wind is fierce. Guess I can count it as another character building exercise 😜
Even though I spent a lot of time in bed, I do not feel particularly well-rested? I think yesterday’s chilling episode had a lot to do with my lack of deep sleep
    shlu3xnjjaoh.jpeg
And I know I will make no further progress whatsoever unless I concentrate on cleaning up my diet - I need to sit down & formulate a new plan. Congrats on your success!

Sounds to me like an electric heating blanket would work for you. Here is a link from Amazon. They are not as expensive as they once were. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=electric+heating+blankets&crid=WHZAZTCPQYEP&sprefix=electric+heating+blankets,aps,786&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

My day ended yesterday with a power failure. Around 6:30 PM the power went out didn’t come back on till 11 o’clock by then I was half asleep although I didn’t sleep well I did sleep better than the day before.qqm30hda081g.jpeg This morning. I woke up with a headache. My sinus are all plugged up, but it feels more like allergies than a cold. The headache could’ve been because I had gluten yesterday the fish I am just in love with lately frozen dinner I can cook and eat. It’s my favourite fish, but it’s got this real light batter on it. It has gluten in it, but I don’t think the headache headaches from that. I think the headache is from the weather.

Yesterday wasn’t too bad (high temp of 48) but dipped down to 23° last night. Very very hard to peel myself away from the stove to get the ponies fed/get anything else done! & then Idiot Luke jumped on poor Dum, puncturing a hole in his face that bled profusely all over the garage AGAIN!!??!! (I haven’t even finished scrubbing all the bloodstains up from Dominic‘s ear)
Got bloody towels soaking in the washing machine now, then maybe I’ll be able to get back to my minor tidying up for company mañana?.
At least our ride went well - I didn’t have any drama from Twoie. Lots of cyclists out, but I’ll take a halt & a few steps backwards over a spin n’ spook any day! (I’m looking at you Baraq)

Disgusted/disappointed in myself - met friends for dinner, ate deep fried crap, got indigestion, thought cheap frozen custard would fix it?!? What a maroon!!!
No point in posting my poor sleep - why should it surprise me when I keep falling in the same hole(s) over & over & OVER again!!??!!
I’m on the email list of a guy who has tried to sell me on online coaching (I didn’t want to spend the money, nor could I afford it last year!) but he made a good point where he said sophisticated data collection can be just another form of procrastination…
I don’t know if you’ve paid any attention to Brian Johnson, the rich dude who wants to live forever: he’s been trying to reverse the aging process - spending untold sums on his regimens, but as some people point out, he may be just trying to sell supplements!

No. I haven’t heard of him. I slept like *kitten* last night. I’m going to chalk it up to having to take my ex to an appointment for my son.

Well I took my ex to all of his appointments. Took him to get blood work and his health card updated. I also bought him batteries for his blood pressure machine at home and lighters. I also ordered long-johns and underwear for him too.

I’m just glad I don’t have to live with them anymore. I didn’t mind doing this favour for my son. The appointments were all local. I didn’t have to drive into the city.

I found the quote: “This quest for precision is often just sophisticated procrastination”
Sophisticated or not, I’m sick & tired of my own BS - always an excuse of one form or another, I need to just accept this as my life.
I’ll see a new doctor Thursday - an osteopath that my girl Misti has been seeing. She’s made a lot of health improvements; let’s hope I can do the same.
23 minutes of deep sleep last night as I worried that I had not confirmed that hubby had broken ice in the water troughs - of course he had, and of course everyone was fine but that didn’t stop me from worrying about it like an idiot…

Oh dear. It’s tough when you get a worry like that.

I finally had a pretty good sleep. I got 8 hrs in. Over an hr of deep sleep. This is way better than the last couple of nights. 8mv1r66gfbt6.jpeg. I’m holding steady at 221.

Thankfully, I managed to catch up on a little bit of deep sleep: an hour and 55 minutes last night, which has me feeling a little more human this morning!
Still damn cold at 19° but it’s supposed to get above freezing today and stay there most of the day. New doctor appt tomorrow, so I’m feeling guarded optimism there?!? At the very least I’m sure she’ll do some bloodwork to recheck my thyroid levels and find out why this cold is absolutely killing me…

I hope you feel better soon.

My sleep was not as great as would have like.
Only 53 minutes of deep sleep and I can feel the difference. Cold wise. Here it is dam coldt5tw8mrpf4b3.jpeg

OMG, I would be D*E*D in those temperatures!!!
Thank the Lord it warmed up to 48° so I actually felt human for part of the day - of course when the sun went down, temperatures have dropped again and I am suffering again…
So right now I am wrapped up in the recliner with two little dogs, wondering how early I can reasonably go to bed and hibernate until I go to the doctor’s in the morning!?! Watching the rest of another Brian Johnson semi-facetious YouTube documentary
“I hope he gets hit by a bus” 🤣😂

I really liked Dr. P - no wonder Misti has done her best to adhere to her dietary recommendations!
She had no dietary recommendations for me, just lots of testing! it’s not surprising, I’m years behind a lot of my routine healthcare stuff: bloodwork, mammogram, Pap smear, etc.
But the main test will be the CT of my chest as she suspects pulmonary fibrosis, ugh! That’s grim but I’ve got to get some answers. They ran an ECG in the office which looked fine; when she slapped a stethoscope on my chest, she said “Your lungs sound crappy!” Oof, thanks for the honesty!

Oh dear. Have you ever tried lung cleanse supplements. I take them. I use to smoke back in ‘03. That is when I quit. I take them anytime I get a cold so I can keep it from turning into pneumonia or a bronchitis.

Last night I slept ok. About and 1.5 hrs of deep sleep.

I slept pretty good last night. Food hasn’t been the greatest lately. Went grocery shopping with my grandson and bought too many sweets.

My sleep has been restless**; I don’t even see the point of posting the screenshots anymore. It is what it is!
** little to no deep sleep and not much REM
Just got my blood test results - fortunately my thyroid levels are fine, which doesn’t explain why I’m freezing to death all the time?!?
Guess I’m just gonna have to move further south…
My diet has likewise been marginal, but by some incredible stroke of metabolic luck my weight is holding steady at 191
(MFP isn’t letting me post the cute possum cartoon I found which discusses the “hella good” merits of Taco Bell!)

I completely understand where you’re coming from my sleep. Lately has been under eight hours although the deep sleep is still been over an hour. Last night I got 6 1/2 hours of sleep, but over an hour and a half of deep sleep my food it’s been marginal. I’m just gonna wait for February 1 and start then.

I was wide awake at 4 AM so not especially coherent this morning - I tried to give myself an extra 45 minutes (I figured I could just get dressed, get the ponies fed, & go straight to work instead of taking my normal coffee break after barn chores) but I was still only fitfully dozing so I got up at 7:20…
I’m stressing over the fact that I’ve got to take my mom back to her orthopedic doctor tomorrow & break the news to her that she needs to stay at the Villages for her own safety - I know she’s not gonna take it well!
Weight up a lb, I’m sure strictly from sleep deprivation & stress. Cake & ice cream at my girl Kristy’s BD gathering for her 9-yr old last night was not THAT big of an indulgence…

I’m with you there. I had ice cream for brunch and supper and 2 cheese sticks. Today will be a better day food wise. Sleep sucked. I thought I got a better sleep but Fitbit shows I didn’t fall asleep until after 5 am and woke at 10:30th. That is just 4 hrs 27 min. I could have sworn I got more sleep than that but maybe not.

Dunno if you’ve been keeping up with my blog, but the first weekend in March I’m going to go help my cousin transport her cats from the San Francisco area (she’s been a medical librarian at Stanford for almost 30 years) to South Bend, Indiana. Our flight has a brief layover in Chicago & even though we won’t have time to do anything touristy, I’ll still be happy just to see it from the air. Not to mention I’ve never seen Notre Dame either! She will be moving into a Catholic retirement community there…
But the main reason she is expediting her retirement plans is the fact that her ex has inherited the lot next door - now that her former father-in-law has died, she suspects he’s going to build right next-door to her!?! I don’t know that I’d move across the country, but I’d definitely get the hell out too!

Oh wow. I think I would move too. I don’t think I’d move across the country but the next city definitely.

I slept pretty well last night. Almost 9 hrs and over an hr of deep sleep. Yay!!!!

Back down to 191 - I’ll take it, especially since I dived into the bakery yesterday for some emergency cookies! Got a distressing phone call from my old friend Charles who is quite certainly dying - he’s now lost 65 pounds; they are fairly certain it is cancer although he hasn’t undergone all the diagnostic procedures. I need to get down to the coast to see him.
Surprisingly enough, my sleep was fairly decent last night as well. Perhaps it’s sheer exhaustion?

I don’t sleep worth *kitten* last night. Just over 4 hrs. My fault though I was reading and not watching the time.

Food has been good yesterday. Today should be too. But who knows. We always start the day with the very best intentions and then the day goes to hell and suddenly you need something comforting to help get you through the rest of the day.

Yes indeedy… I’ve always hoped to find some alternative way to reward myself rather than thinking of food first & foremost.
Bcz I am ashamed of myself for looking forward to a particular restaurant meal as much as socializing with my friends. I am looking into TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) to see if I can “fix my wiring”; A doctor in one of my groups posted that it was quite helpful to him, as he is also tried multiple antidepressants and therapeutic modalities…
