What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

I love that you are breaking up your goals into much smaller goals so you can observe repeated success. I think it's fantastic that you've decided NOT to "reward" yourself with food. Very wise!
That said, if you have some time you might look in on some research on wearing Crocs all the time. I have a pair, and I wear them often. Not in winter. They're great on river trips; I can leave them near the boat and put them on to wade out and climb aboard so my "dry" sandals stay dry and don't get coated with sand. The research I'm aware of may not apply to us because we are adults; however I did hear on NPR that Crocs aren't good for kids to wear exclusively. They can inhibit proper foot development and lead to hammer toe. Get the pink Crocs, but maybe wear some "real" shoes part of the time.
You can read the NPR story from October if you want all the details.2 -

Thanks. I also wear flip flops a lot (probably not good), and I have a pair of hiking boots. I brought some second hand sports shoes online but have been avoiding wearing them because I think they might give me blisters and I don't want to regret my purchase, lol, perfectly logical thinking.1 -
I was locked out of group I think. @313.0 today. Up 4 lbs from Thurs. Best guess is the low wasn't real or I'm retaining a lot of water. LOL. I left in December for PH at 312 so i'll still take it. I haven't been on track. Getting back to it.4

First post, trying to have a proper reset and get my weight back under control. I'm currently 107.3KG/16st 12, my first goal is to get to 105KG, and then 100KG. To make it happen, I'm averaging 10,000 steps per day, and two to three gym sessions per week on top whilst maintaining a calorie deficit. Nothing special in terms of diet (at this stage), I'm happy to occasionally treat myself in moderation, but I'm logging absolutely everything. I'm okay if the weight comes down steadily, but I need to make sure I stay in control now.
Day one went well yesterday, and day two is off to a good start. Can't complain7 -

You weren't locked out of the group. There was a bug in the software so if you tried to navigate here from your alerts, it gave an error. I got that too. You could go through the category list and get to this thread, but that was the only way. I reported it a few weeks ago. It was pretty much limited to this thread. It looks like they finally fixed it.
When you think there's something wrong, please submit a help ticket so staff can put it on their list. They WILL get it fixed! It may take a while, but they really do get to it.4 -
So after a week and a half of being back in my hometown and being force fed by family, you know where everything revolves around food, and its impolite if you dont eat it, I think I have things somewhat under control again yay 😂8

Started right after new years on Whole30 and dropped a ton of inflammation/water weight. 201 start to 193 today. Once I get into a routine with food prep, I'll add in exercise. That's the first mini goal, stabilize routine enough to add daily 10K steps and adapt my daily rhythm to that new habit. Then, next mini is 176 lbs. This is the weight where my double-chin goes away, lol! three cheers for vanity!8

I am breaking my goals down as I have a lot to lose. I have been so heavy for so many years and looking at a goal so large is over whelming so I'm taking it in mini goal increments. Taking one day at a time hoping over time I'll reach my ultimate goal.7

@Verburgfamily Good thinking! I did the same thing -- I made myself a bingo card with mini goals, and crossed them off as I went. Then I made a new card whenever I got a bingo Because my big goal was far too big for me to even imagine that I could ever accomplish it! I'm about half-way there now One day and one mini goal at a time. You got this!7

a mini-goal driving me right now is a simple task of ensuring that i drink a cup of green tea daily to help boost my metabolism. I don't want to use sugar to raise my insulin but I do like it with a wee bit of honey to add some flavor.5

Evidence that drinking tea "boosts metabolism" is dubious. Using caffeine can make us be more active and therefore burn more calories, and green tea contains caffeine.
Honey is sugar, and it will raise blood sugar when eaten.

I wear my Crocs a lot. (A slightly too large pair works well for scuba diving, as my drysiot socks fit under to them). I wasn't paying attention on a recent morning, and ended up wearing them at work at the office. I was waiting for a friend in reception, which caused Security to accuse me of being a vagrant sheltering from the cold.anxietyfairy wrote: »@anxietyfairy

I wish I could drink green tea. It's supposed to be healthy as well as boosting metabolism. Better for blood pressure. And I do love my tea! But it makes my tummy do flip flops. I've never heard anyone else say anything like that, so I don't know why. But I've tried it several times and it always does.
Bestie wishes!
