@Overheadfan Thank you so much!! Congratulations!! 16 pounds in one year to be gone forever is a HUGE accomplishment!! That's the same as TWO HUMAN HEADS. 🫒 JUST ONE MORE KILO AND YOU WILL HAVE LOST AS MUCH AS A CAR TIRE!! 🫣 I posted my story in the hopes that I could inspire just one person to focus on the slow and steady approach....the last 2.5 years FLEW By as I knew they would!! It was wonderful to have such a worthwhile project to keep me occupied during that time....much like we focus on our education One subject, one semester at a time and suddenly it's over and on to the next phase.

My favourite websites I used throughout my journey. Dr Halls BMI A Canadian dr who has perfected the BMI chart You input your height, weight and age....and your BMI is far more realistic. In addition to Obese and Overweight....there is a Minimally Overweight,....which kicks in at about 27. This was a huge motivator as I passed thru each phase!! I first focused on becoming Overweight....then Minimally....etc. I found my weight naturally stabilize at each step which helped my brain adjust. I LOVE Model My Diet!

You build a very realistic looking illustration of yourself...and input your starting weight and current or goal weight. The more you lose, the more shocking the change....even 5 pounds makes a difference!! Side note....the hairstyles are fun to play with as you lose the weight to complement your slimmer face.πŸ˜‰

The Photographic Height and Weight chart are excellent! As I lost weight, I chose slimmer role models and slowly surpassed them! FINALLY...I stopped using my own digital scale as it felt like clutter on the floor, I didn't trust the accuracy and didn't like constantly weighing myself. I decided to use the VERY ACCURATE physician scale that my local Community Centre had. It was a nice walk from my house...close enough to get out and weigh myself before breakfast once a month or so. It was the BEST decision. Occasional trips to the Dr. matched the scale and made my weigh ins an event! Something to look forward to! As I said, I am MOST PROUD that the scale NEVER climbed up. I'd be worried at times...but there was never an increase. That in turn gave me confidence that my eating and exercise habits were becoming my new way of life....even on the occasional lapse in judgement. Currently on an every 3 week weigh in schedule.....2 pounds consistently comes off.

So keep doing EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING!! Almost 16 pounds is AMAZING in one year!! Drink your water, don't hurt yourself with strenuous exercise. Walking, yoga, swimming....lol. As I did yoga I told myself I had never seen a large Yogi and to just trust the process......it completely worked!

My body is very tight and compact and I could not imagine the trauma of having to deal with loose skin just to lose weight faster!! Don't do it.. Your continued goal of 7 kilos....15/18 pounds per year is perfect. Follow Dr Halls BMI and CELEBRATE each phase!!!! Give your brain a chance to accept the new category. That's when you PROUDLY SAY I'M OVERWEIGHT I'M MARGINALLY OVERWEIGHT
knowing you will NEVER be able to say that again!!! And when you PROUDLY SAY I'M NORMAL WEIGHT it feels incredibly AMAZING πŸ‘ 😍

PLEASE keep us posted on your progress.....this is a TEAM effort 🀚

@Overheadfan PS Certainly start right away and PROUDLY SAY.........I'M OBESE!!! Youll never be able to say that again and when you say that and know it........it helps to completely let it go!! Like a vacation to a destination you know you'll likely never see again. It puts you in the moment and actually makes you happy.....which boosts your enthusiasm to keep going. I did that and it made my journey so much FUN!! Make it pleasant the time passes more quickly πŸ˜†
