Last night I hosted bunco. I had a great plan, with a chicken taco bar but I sabotaged mine own self with giant bakery cookies and chocolate sticks. Oh, well. Minor NSV is right back to plan this morning.

I talked to a new lady, daughter of one of our long time players. She told me she’d lost 100+ with semaglutide, and has kept it off for a year.

I had wondered why she was always watching, a few steps back, arms crossed, and not participating. This morning, it hit me like a brick.

That’s “fat behavior”, and I’m guilty of same. It’s taken a long time to even partially climb out of that “silently watching lest I be judged” (or even worse, noticed) mindset.

Weight not only weighs our bodies, it weighs down our hearts and souls, and that’s an even heavier burden than dragging heavy limbs around life.

My NSV is I feel lighter both outside and in.

Instead of my normal $6 iced latte, I drank a protein shake with milk, protein powder, and a banana. It's much more filling and healthy for my wallet, so win win. Also, I feel much more energized than when I relied on espresso!

It's funny how all it takes are the small accomplishments to get through the day!

My "thin clothes" are baggy

I bought size 16 lee "insect shield" jeans a while back during a sale. I live in an area with lots of deer ticks spring through late fall and I practically live in insect sheild clothes during tick seasons. They were tight enough that while I could get them on, I didn't want to stretch them. Figured I would fit into them by spring. Today I tried them on, and I might have to get a size or two smaller by spring.

I went on a 35-minute hike today and I literally ran up some hilly trails that I couldn't have walked up a year ago, while carrying on a conversation. I don't recognize myself anymore and it's awesome.

I have hiked three times already this year. I moved back to Louisiana almost a year ago for family and school, and I decided to make more effort in 2025 to get to know the nature here. It has been good for both body and soul.

I don’t use this app to track anymore. I switched to a different one when the news feed disappeared, but I’m back for a moment to say thank you to all of you who have been so inspiring over the years. I remember your stories, and every now and then when I need a little boost, I check this thread.

@springlering62 I wanted to say thank you for recommending meringues as a sweet treat a while back. They are perfect little crunchy, low cal snacks. I am currently addicted to the seasonal Trader Joe’s mini peppermint meringues and will be so sad when I run out! I’ll have to learn to make them.

If you’ve got access to Sprouts, the Belgian meringues in the Bakery area call Irresistables (sic) are utterly amazing.

Fist sized and 30 calories each!

Also suggest making aquafaba meringues. Almost zero calories- and I usually do only half or a third of the sugar most recipes call for. They are actually really good, with a cotton candy taste. You just have to get past the aquafaba, and a lot of people can’t, even though it’s amazingly cool.

I could wax on about meringues all day. My favorites!

Would you consider putting a plan in place on what you will do if you want to go off plan? Maybe take a few minutes on Wednesday to see if you want to make changes for Thursday through Sunday?

I log several days out. It helps with both grocery and calorie planning.

I’m always tinkering with it.

Husband forgot to tell me about his evening meeting? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I quickly swap the cooked meal for the chili from the freezer. Not feeling a huge salad for lunch? I move it to later in the weeks and have a quick wrap. Went to Cookout to treat the dog? I delete dinner and pop in the Cookout “meal” I have stored.

It’s really no problem at all, plus it helps me use up all the leftovers and prepped frozen meals I tend to hoard til the drawer won’t close. 😣

Logging in advance is one of my best anti-binge weapons, too, because A.) I’m weak and B.) I know when and what every snack is coming

If you don’t pre-log and have a tendency to go over or binge, try it!

I agree that pre-logging is a GREAT tool to remind us not to go off the rails.

I also agree that it's wise to give yourself permission to change what you planned, ideally without affecting the results.

I don't think I could pre-log a whole week. That said, I have been considering doing some more advance meal planning. I eat lots of vegetables, and one of my priorities is to avoid food waste. I produce shop once a week or less, for the most part. I buy some standard items and some special things. Some produce has a longer shelf life. I find that my meals for a day are often dictated by what is most fragile. I wonder if a strategy I might try is to rough out some things I want to make in the next week before I produce shop, then after I get home fine tune it a bit based on the specific veggies I have (and how fresh they seem). Then I can swap days if I want. I also recognize that making some of those swaps might mean my calorie total is "too high" some days, but since it's just a swap, it will even out over the week.

I have built trust in myself that I can have a little treat without going crazy, like it's the last time I'll ever have access to a dessert. I had a cosmic brownie with my lunch for like 2 weeks and now I feel like I could go without it and not be sad. I actually ate the last one I had on Monday and I was like, "Oh well, maybe I'll switch it up and bake a lunch treat this weekend." No devastation!

My non-scale victory was going to the clothing store to find out my new waist size and was very happy to hear that my waist has gone from a size 50 to a size 47 and I'm nearly down to a 46. I owe most of it to my swimming routine. Of swimming for a mile daily (monday - friday).

I’ve stayed strong and not given in to temptation on day ONE today. Avoided the sugary treats and I’ve been tracking everything and drinking my water. It’s a great feeling.

I feel more energetic. I'm sleeping better. I feel like I've finally cracked the code on how to enjoy vegetables. My skin feels and looks healthier. I have a cardiovascular condition that limits exercise but yesterday I was able to push myself on the leg press without passing out!

Also about a year and a half ago I tailored a pair of work pants to fit me exactly how I wanted. They were uncomfortably tight a few weeks ago which was very disappointing and one of the things that gave me a kick to get going. They're now feeling much more comfortable! Almost back to that perfect fit.

I was able to do an advanced TRX/Pilates combo move today involving the Pilates EXO chair and the TRX straps. I was so happy! My deep core muscles are awake again!

The doughnut shop had all my favorites this morning: Mexican hot chocolate, Sweet Joe, raspberry pepper.

But a friend is bringing baklava for the Super Bowl.

I left with just the usual apple fritter.

I did a HIIT (HasFit) workout yesterday that I enjoyed. It felt good to complete it. Then my husband and I took a 32 minute hike at a local sanctuary.

My morning blood sugar is finally lower than my weight, after three months of low carb dieting. BS 159, weight 162. Hope to have it normal and be in the ideal weight range in another three months. No drugs, just diet and exercise

I found a salad that I really like that is very low calorie and filling. I have an eating disorder that basically mimics "picky eating", so any low-calorie high-fiber food i can eat regularly is a blessing!

I ate a single serving of candy today and didn't stress too much about it. It fit perfectly in my calories and I still hit >130g protein for the day. Everything in moderation.
