    21 Feb - Walked 1.40 miles - Ran 3.10 miles - Treadmill

    54.30/80 miles goal

I did a treadmill session this morning. The run/walk portion was 4.5-5.5/4.0 mph for various times. I did run more and fewer walk breaks than yesterday, but somehow it was 13 sec/mile slower. I guess not making it up to 5.6 mph was the issue. Anyway, I was okay with the avg pace of 12:41 min/mile. Avg HR was 130 with a max of 157 bpm.

    Nice run/walk @quilteryoyo !

My watch did that thing again where it died on me mid run. I have been trying to decide if it is a cold issue or a battery issue. I have been charging it every night, so maybe it is the cold.
I went over to the Pixel Watch 3 world awhile back, and so far it's okay. (Fifteen years in the Garmin ecosystem so I have a sense of loss.😢)

You could do me a big favor @kgirlhart My FR745 is sitting here unused, it probably has a year or more of life in it. Send me a PM and I'll send it to you. Knowing it isn't going to waste would be a big plus for me.

@tarun_yadavA So sorry you are sidelined, but glad it seems like if you let your foot recover that you can run pain free again! Your foot does look quite flat.

@ContraryMaryMary It sounds like you had a successful park run! I’m glad your daughter will return despite “hating it” ;).

Today I did a 6.5km recovery run on the treadmill, some mobility exercises and some arm strength training. My legs are still quite tired both from my long run and from weight lifting a couple days ago, so trying to take it easy and let them recover.

    239.3/301km.

Good workout @tarun_yadavA! Yes, not the calorie burn one would prefer over 60 minutes, but great that you hit the gym!

Oh my, that orthotic is definitely ready for a grand burial ceremony!

    Have a lovely weekend! Cheers!

Thanks for checking in @tarun_yadavA ! You did great, even if you didn't burn the calories you are used to. That gym looks pretty busy. You'll be ready for a nice run in 3 weeks.

    and burnt ~900 calories.

Will check in from time to time over next 3 weeks

I know you are among the golden "maintainers" here. Kudos. Will you address this change in easy regular calorie expenditure (long runs) by modifying your food/diet?

For instance moving toward lower carbs, lower calories, or something along those lines. Hypothetically a maintainer who pounds out a five mile loop everyday completely lost the ability to do those runs, what are shifts to maintain weight/health/satisfaction etc.

With only 3 weeks I am sure you could ignore all this and wait until you are healthfully running again, but this is food for thought.

My stress fracture in 4/2020 probably needed a few months for recovery, and I am going on five years of not fully recovering that fitness. --- Though I remain optimistic ;)

I do hope you are able to check-in.

Good job getting to the gym @tarun_yadavA. It's hard having to completely rework your exercises to accommodate your foot issues. I however find it super annoying that a 10k gives you about 900 cals. That would be about 550 for me.

You're doing great @kgirlhart . I hope those TX temps warm up soon...and you get some sun.

@daria0919 Oh no! I'm glad that you didn't break anything! Sorry about the deer. I hate it when things like that happen. I wonder what made the deer fall. Was it icy? I hope you aren't too sore in the morning.

@martaindale Enjoy your dinner and good luck with the HM tomorrow night! Look forward to hearing how it goes. I started to say something similar to @tarun_yadavA , but didn't. It is disheartening. I went 5.6 miles this morning and burned 560 calories.

@quilteryoyo I guess the deer possibly tripped because of the curb, or tried to dive over bushes - not totally sure.

    Good luck tomorrow @martaindale!

@daria0919 That is so sad. I am glad nothing was broken and hope you aren't too sore tomorrow.

@quilteryoyo Today was lovely. I took a rest day, but tomorrow should be really nice and we should have good weather all week.

    Hi everyone!

@tarun_yadavA Good job getting to the gym! You are very disciplined and go with what works! As a previous college rower, maybe the rowing will help you be even a bit stronger of a runner in 3 weeks, even if you aren’t burning quite as many calories. I got my fastest overall 10km time while rowing and haven’t gotten anywhere near as fast since - could also be partly due to my age and intense weight lifting we did though :). And yeah, 900 calories for a 10k is a lot! A 10k for me is not even 700 ;).

@daria0919 I am so sorry to hear about your fall and about the deer! That is so sad. At least they were able to end the deer’s suffering!

@martaindale I hope you have a great race and that we get to see some pictures!

@ContraryMaryMary That looks like a lovely and scenic hike!!!
