First day back running today. My legs feel a little stiff but otherwise ok. I went for a long, 5+ mile walk yesterday and I think that helped work out some of the residual soreness. I have 1 month until my South Carolina HM but I need to make some changes to training.
It's impressive the care you are using in making your plan. A question though, I'm reading about fatigue and an unwillingness to reduce milage or running days. Is their a bright flag there somewhere?

@Mari33a I'm glad your doctor gave you the okay to continue running. If you get inserts, I hope they help.

@martaindale That sounds like a great plan to me. I think the run/walk will definitely let you do more miles with less fatigue. I tried the Garmin Jeff Galloway HM plan last year. I, too, found the weekday workouts too short, so always added to them. You may want to do his glider workouts as part of a longer session, as they help you to transition from running to walking and back to running smoothly. I look forward to seeing how you like the plan you have come up with.

    Nice running @kgirlhart .

@martaindale I think your plan sounds reasonable as you are basing it on past experience and the amount of days you would prefer to be out running. At the end of the day, almost every run is done for training, so if the training is not fun or isn’t a good match, you might eventually resent it. It sounds like you want to avoid that and also get some positive racing results.

@quilteryoyo You are doing great with your training and finding time!

@WarmJellyfish So sorry to hear about having to delay your test run! I hope everything is ok!

I hear you! This was my biggest struggle with marathon training and probably my largest hurdle to doing it again. Not saying never, but it consumed all of my time and that was hard.

You're doing great managing your training. You seem to rarely skip things and that is a testament to your commitment!

Well, was planning on doing a little test run this evening but then on the commute to work this morning, just as I was coughing into my arm sleeve, I coughed hard enough to feel something pop in my back :'(
I'm hoping its just soft tissue and not a rib because it hurt like a ^!%%*$#^. Sigh, so much for going back into the waters....when will this end....
    Meanwhile I'm living vicariously through y'all :D

Ok I'm pretty sure I broke a rib. Every time I have to cough I can feel a clicking and it's painful as heck. I've broken my ribs before. Going to the doc later. The sucky thing with ribs is not a whole lot can be done.
Dang, have to amend this year's race plans, thank goodness I haven't paid for a bunch yet :'(

    @Teresa502 @Laurz9191 Thanks :)

    My condolences @WarmJellyfish!

@martaindale Glad the wunning seems to be working for you. LOL about Garmin. No one knows. It's one of life's biggest mysteries.

@ContraryMaryMary Sounds like a lovely run, even though it wasn't what you would have chosen. I, too, strongly dislike those really early morning appointments.

@tarun_yadavA Sorry about those callouses and blisters. I know that has to hurt. You are doing great to keep at it. I hope you'll be back to running soon.

Consistency will pay off @CaityP27 .

Ran 139.46 miles so far this month. Supposed to do a 15K today, we'll see if that happens.
