Hello there! I’m Alex. 2/27 my morning weigh in is 199.9. Took me 2.5 weeks to get less than 200 (started 207). Not sure how accurate the weigh in was this day, but it’s always in the morning after potty use and before eating. The day before I was 204 which was up from earlier. Anyways….
My ideal weight is 160-170. I’ve started 2/26 a 16:8 fasting schedule AND doing that 1800 calorie intake for the 2lbs loss per week goal.
Not sure what my weight goal for the month is, as I want to be realistic. But let’s see, 2lbs per week so I guess a loss of 8lbs+ by the end of the month.4 -
Hi, I'm Darlene and am back for another month. I am working my way through the maintenance phase of my journey. I weigh weekly, and record my accomplishments daily. I started this journey in January 2023 and lost 90 pounds. I reached my goal weight in October 2024, went back over my goal in November and then back to my December and have maintained for January and February. This was the first group that joined on MFP and holds a special place in my heart.

My Story if you want to read:Hi all - I'm Darlene. I live in Connecticut with my Hubby, Greg, and Pup, Monty the Golden Doodle. I have one grown daughter, Allyson, who turned 30 this year. I have been with this group since April 2023. I did miss a couple months - but realized that I needed the daily accountability and support and came back.
I retired in 2020. Prior to retirement, I worked at a University in their Alumni and Development Affairs department. I consolidated the monthly donor statistics, reported the results, and maintained the donor database. Other careers in my past life - I was a nursery school teacher while Allyson was in school, and was an accountant at IBM for many years before she was born.
I started my weight loss journey in January 2023. Hubby went back to work on a temporary assignment. It was the first time in my life that I was home alone - no sisters, no husband, no children. Just me and Monty. I thought this was the perfect time to put me first for a change and made a vow to lose weight, give up some bad habits, and exercise. I had this goal of completing the Airline Trail (a rail trail in Connecticut - that runs through my back yard) a little at a time. It's a 62 mile trek, give or take a tenth of a mile. Monty and I started our journey on January 12, 2023 and completed the goal, February 22, 2023. I lost 16 pounds the first two months. When the quest was completed I thought now what?
I found MFP and started tracking my food consumption, and was getting bored. This was the typical me - lost a bit and then get bored, give up and gain it all back. But then I found the challenges page on MFP. I joined A LOT! of different challenges including this one. It made losing weight so much fun and has given me a love for exercise. I've given up most of the other challenges - but keep the three that I love the most - this one, Hogwarts, and the Biggest Loser Challenge. As I mentioned this support group was the first one that I joined on MFP and gives me the daily support, accountability and encouragement that I need. The other two are more a game - which make losing weigh fun and exciting. I'll do more for the team than I will do for myself, and a litte competition is fun for me.
I made it to my goal weight in October 2024, now trying to figure our the maintenance phase of this journey - just as hard as losing in my opinion. Will be in this challenge for as long as I am able. I can truly say I would not be where I am without it - down 90 pounds since the start of my journey.
I started writing monthly reflections and taking before and after pictures about six months into my journey. The reflection helps me identify what I did right and what I need to work on. It wasn't until I started comparing pictures that I could even see a difference in how I looked. I encourage you to do so - don't need to share with anyone but yourself. When you see yourself every day - you just don't realize the difference.
Here are My Before and After Pictures for the three years in this journey:

Hi, I’m Tammy and just turned 53. I have been with this group for a couple months now, but have been on and off MFP since 2015. In December 2023 I bought myself a biometric scale for Christmas and I have been on a mission since to get my health and numbers under control. Since that time I have lost 30 pounds and my biometric markers are looking much better. While I am more in a maintenance phase I am still striving to be the best version of myself and improve my overall health. For me, this means getting better with physical activity. My diet is pretty good but I need to make a conscious effort to build more physical activity into my daily lifestyle!
I plan to weight weekly and update daily on my activity.
March 1: Starting weight 136 (yes, for those friends from last month, I am up a bit. My monthly dinner with the girls put me up 🎂).4 -
@ozdeelite from someone in the Midwest who has been in winter hibernation, I am so jealous of your beach pictures! Glad you are having a wonderful visit.4

My name is Kristin, 5’3 36 with a 5 yo boy. Back again! This time I’m making it a lifestyle. I have only been back in the 130s once (2021) since having my kid and I need to get back there. Not only for my confidence and self esteem, but for him. I want to be in those pictures I feel too fat to take. Preschool graduation is 5/20 and I am tired of hiding from the camera. I want to take family photos and have those lasting memories and now is the time. My goal for March is to get under 150. This time I have clothes goals and rewards too. I am purging my fat closet (my husbands shirts) and back to MY personal wardrobe.
155-throw out one shirt
150- throw out two shirts
145- throw out three shirts, throw out one hoodie
*these are shirts that shrunk too short for my hubby to wear lol
5/10 goal: under 140
8/1 goal: 130 (going to gulf shores with family)
UGW:125
2/14: 163.6
3/1: 156.8
I will be weighing in every other day bc I get too discouraged seeing the scale go up with the fluctuations. My health insurance started a wellness challenge at work and 1st-3rd individuals get a prize as do 1st and 2nd teams so my coworkers and I have been walking an hour at lunch every day these last two weeks. I even bought an under the desk pedal machine and have been doing at least 200 minutes on that every weekday. My hubby and I also bought a stationary bike this week so I am committed to getting healthy. The challenge ends the end of March but I plan on keeping at the bike while I work and going to try to work back up to running. I ran 4 marathons before I had my kiddo and just having that ability to go out and run 3 miles in 30-35 minutes was always a sense of pride for me. I am a very competitive person so I am always striving to beat my previous times/distance but I also have a fear of failure so the why bother attitude has hit me hard lately. Soooo this is me and here I am! Let’s do this!5 -

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
03/01-196.4-(Trend Weight: 196.4)- My power was out until 8:00 am this morning so there was no sleep because I had no C-Pap machine. I tried but to no avail. Finally slept from 8:00 am until 11:00 am and I’m not in very good shape for the funeral this afternoon. My oldest DD will be attending with me. It is frigid cold but sunny, bright and beautiful otherwise. My friend Diane would have loved seeing the birds happily flitting around in play this morning. This was a tough round. Coming down on the scale 1.4 lbs overnight helped to keep my gain at just 0.6 lbs for the round. This is 3 rounds in a row with some sort of gain. I need to get on a losing streak now. Great job to all for hanging in there and for the many accomplishments I’ve seen from you this round. See you tomorrow in the next one.

Hi All,
I'm back for another month.
I'm a 47 year old, 5' 2", busy mom of 5. I lost 40 pounds and then flirted with my goal weight for almost a year. The scale was going steadily up for several months, so I'm bringing it back down. I'd love to get to my goal weight of 120-123 in the next couple months and then *maintain* it.
March 1: 126.8

@ConflictedJedi Welcome! I have heard people say that aiming for 2% weight loss per month is helpful and effective (no more than 2.5%). That guideline always helps me to set good goals and helps prevent me from crashing and burning.
@kebass01 Welcome! I love it that you're looking forward to building your own wardrobe again.
@ozdeelite Enjoy the beach! Beach and wine... those two things go together well.

03/02-195.4-(Trend Weight: 196.5)- Day 2 of no heat in my house. In Northern Michigan that’s dangerous! When power went out Friday night and came back on Saturday morning I didn’t realize it had done something to my furnace. Auto ignition of pilot just won’t work. It comes on but then goes right back off and nothing but very cold air blowing out of ducts. I had to shut it off at the fuse box and turn the gas off to make sure it would not build up gas so it would quit trying to run and warm it up in here. My thermostat has no “off” and the house is colder than the lowest selection so it just kept running. Because I was at the funeral service and dinner until after dark last night, I didn’t realize my house wasn’t getting any heat. Last night was night two of freezing to death. These little ceramic space heaters are only spot heaters so they are not warming up a room, but at least I can stand within 2 feet of them and feel some relief for myself and the cat. They are very tiny but I have 2 of them. Not much help in a 3200+ sq foot house! Of course it’s Sunday and I’m in a very rural area where nothing would ever be open on Sunday’s except the churches. No big box stores here anyway! So I’ve got my 30 year old nephew coming over who’s pretty handy. He has changed out thermo couplers and such in the past. He works as a handyman in the area, but mostly ships off to Oregon to work. Thankfully he’s home right now and will come look at it this morning. I hope he can fix it. He thinks that when the power came back on it may have pushed through some sediment that has to be cleaned. We will not be able to get any parts until tomorrow if we need something new. Fingers crossed for me please. Thank you all for the kind words about my friend Diane. She was beautiful yesterday.

Hi all, It's been a few years and I am back because of health issues. My weight has been dangerously low in the past to the point where it triggered menopause. Now I'm 7 years post menopause and it is the opposite...I have gained an absurd 100 pounds in this time.
Have had a lot of stressors that husband and I have been dealing with so put the weight loss on the back burner. I really thought it would eventually stop but it's just out of control despite all my best efforts and doctors cannot find anything else wrong with me.
I can't live this way, so I am going back to logging my food and exercise minutes to see if there is something that I'm missing,
Highest weight is my current weight at 229.
Lowest weight was 115 in 2018.
I'll be thrilled if I can get down to at least a healthy 140-130. I am 5'6" and small frame for reference.
Not expecting miracles but I do eat healthy, mostly veggies and chicken or fish and do not drink or smoke and am just frustrated.
Thank you for having this accountability group. Wishing everyone success.6 -

@deepwoodslady Yikes, I sure hope you got the heat fixed. Fingers crossed you are ok.
@ozdeelite Life is filled with bumps in the road - leave it behind and focus on what is ahead - persistence not perfection!
@tbris4 Glad you had a nice time with your daughter. So nice when they come home! 💗
@AdahPotatah2024 That sounds like a fun challenge - great way to make this adventure fun and interesting.

Thanks, @iLive2Walk
Hi all! I'm joining this challenge for March. 140 lbs this morning..goals of 135.
I do a week of Indigenous Eating in November/try to eat foods native to America. This month I'm challenging myself to eat an early European diet. I'll see if I lose 5 lbs!;)
March 1- 140 (cold plate w/mozzarella, olives, toast and salad greens / soup)
March2- 140 (Meatballs, greens, and a whole grain roll)
March 3-1393 -
March Daily Goals: log food, 64oz water, 7k< steps, work to incorporate more activity.
☘️ Starting weight 136
March 2: logged goods, met water goal. Only got in 3,659 steps and no workout. Drove my daughter back to college so I spent the day in the car. 😔. Today will be much more productive!3 -
@deepwoodslady yikes, no heat in northern Michigan. I hope your nephew can help you!
@ozdeelite don't let the gain stress you. You had a lovely visit with family and now you can get back in the wagon.
@iLive2Walk Congratulations on your milestone!!
Happy to see some newcomers and returning members… welcome!4 -
Hey it’s Kristin, 5’3 and 36. Here are my goals
155-throw out one shirt
150- throw out two shirts
145- throw out three shirts, throw out one hoodie
*these are shirts that shrunk too short for my hubby to wear lol
4/1 goal: under 150
5/10 goal: under 140
8/1 goal: 130 (going to gulf shores with family)
UGW:125
2/14: 163.6
3/1: 156.8
3/3: 156.6
Lots of water today. I made sausage tortellini soup with extra spinach that I ate around 7pm and stayed under my calories both Saturday and Sunday so I know the .2 loss is kind of small due to the salt. I fell like I retain salt weight a lot more then I used to. Last month it was a 1.5lb drop after I drank water the next day after a salty dinner so I am not too stressed. Peddling the bike at work today and then group walk over lunch.5 -
March goal: track calories each day
3/1: 22 over, 54mi group ride
3/2: 533 under, 28mi bike trainer
Since I met my goal for February, I rewarded myself with a new bike (used, but new to me). Carbon frame (2008 Kestrel Evoke) should be a nice upgrade from my current aluminum road bike. Still need to fine tune the fit and finish some tune up but it's been very nice on the trainer so far.4
