    Age 34, female.

Former Gastric Bypass patient here (12 years ago).

    Heavy Weight: 391 | Lowest Weight: 172

    Weight in January 2025: 270

Current Weight (as of this a.m.): 240

    Necessary Goal: 199

    Hopeful, overall, longterm goal: 185

I had a very slow start in January. I wasn't all in yet, because I'd steered so far off path in recent years. It took me until mid/end February to really go all in. The first month was really a soft start, with lots of fails. But I was determined to keep trying. By mid/end February, I'd fail about once per week. By early March, my mind and body fully aligned and nothing can knock me off course now. It was hard, very hard at first. It now just seems easy. I set 5 pound goals for myself. I watch the scale and cheer myself on to the next 5 pound goal. It's work. I cant stare at the scale and wait for that overall final goal to appear. Each 5 pound goal has motivated me to no end. Today was a milestone, as I hit 30 pounds gone, this morning.

That's wonderful, and congratulations, Kristin ! Cementing new habits takes time to work it out, you have to work out the process, and let the process work itself out, too. That made sense in my head, but reading it back is a bit different. LOL oh well. CONGRATULATIONS !

Your efforts are inspiring @Kristin09katie, it is a journey well worth taking. My own fitness journey has also been a number of up and downs. I chose to focus on the present and I am now within 2 pounds of my goal weight. I still have a way to go with my cholesterol and fitness level, but I know that if I continue to work on it, I will achieve my goals.

For April my goal is to continue to maintain my cholesterol friendly diet, to increase my flexibility bioage from 59 years to 55, and get my mileage up to 60kms on my long bicycle rides, with the goal of hitting 100kms by September.

I didn't get to pull any pranks. i was looking for an opening. none… too bad maybe next year.

Yesterday the tree trimmers showed up and we got to work. Of course they had all the cool toys. A bucket to reach the high places and chainsaws, pole saws, and the ole nippers. Don't forget rakes and a trash can.
Five guys all working. They had everything trimmed in 6 hours. I did make them take a break with lunch that I provided. While they were doing the trees I had to shovel off my patio bricks. Crazy amount of dirt and sand that has blown in. Got a lot of leaves raked up. So nice to see everything cleaned up. I had over 18000 steps in for the day.

Hey walkin'! Hey Crew Team Mikey! :D

I've been playing with Chat GPT for a good chunk of this week, learning to auto-populate sections of my Freggie tracker, and feeding it into my Unbreakable Vow tracker, too. Unbreakable Vow is a 4-wk mini-challenge within an 8-wk Hogwarts Term, which is a super fun challenge here on MyFitnessPal. And, btw, a new term is starting on Monday, if anyone is interested :D. Chat GPT is an excellent tutor, btw!

Chat GPT is a hoot! Def has a personality. As I mentioned, I've been using it this week to help me finish automating my Freggie Tracker spreadsheet, and feeding it into my Hogwarts Unbreakable Vow tracking table. I don't know if this snippet of conversation will make sense, but it made me laugh out loud ("nice try, citrus condiment! 😂🤣)! It was smart enough to know that including lemon juice on my list of 'other freggies' wasn't exactly up to spec ;-)

It's funny. And helpful! But, I have to clarify often. It's very large knowledge base can output some complicated answers. But it seems to 'enjoy' backing up and explaining, or even simplifying and heading down a new track. I don't know if it enjoys, how 'intelligent' is AI anyway? But the speech patterns are very engaging.

Walkintofit, well done on the date, you are right about putting yourself out there. The first of more hopefully, its all about being vulnerable and 'out there'.

GPT is interesting, or the others, I've got Gemini on my phone which is the Google one. I was asking the other day for 'values I could display today' for my journaling and it asked me if I wanted help. I said yes and described my day and it gave me some really good advice and things to try.

Ive put a workout routine in and asked for feedback and it did a really detailed job and I was surprised how much it picked up

    April for me?

Not sure, I sometimes feel that most of my days are trying to get into a routine that never quite gets there, but I keep trying.

Ive had the construction/engineering bug. Ive had to rebuild most of our decking, I do a fair amount of our DIY but this was a proper project. I was originally going to be an engineer and spent a couple of years as a coach/bus mechanic. I'm not sure how zi ended up in an office but I sometimes get a nudge that I'm 'in the wrong place'.

I could probably do with going and finding a project bike to stick in the garage.

Todays plan is to remind myself that I worried about my health and wellbeing as much as I do my job, I'd be a zen athlete by now. What I then need to remember to do, is pick up some decking rail brackets from whichever DIY store I can get to on my way home.

Mikey, i ended up in retail due to a friend offering me a job, parttime sales clerk in a clothing store. I didn't know it would be for the rest of my working career. I do bookkeeping for 2 hours then supervise 53 people in this retail gig. I'm thinking maybe a year left before I retire. this isn't what I thought retirement would look like being by myself.

It's great that you were out there on a date though, Are you doing it again?

Almost back to polo season rather than jumpers, still a bit cold for my liking though.

yes, we went out again, not really ready for a serious relationship , neither is he. He did show me his house and what work he has done to it. I guess the word is gun shy. lol if that still the way to say it.
I have been working in the yard, doing cleanup and such. I need to go find a mower. What the issue is finding someone to bring it home on a trailer.

Living in the west maybe I should be a gunslinger? lol,, need to find the right hat to pull it off. probably too short to look good. oh I could be a rapper, tooshort is my name. need to practice the rhyming. ok not sure if I could draw in a crowd. I know I can't sing, I can carry a tune in a bucket though.

I completed my third weekly 36 hour fast this weekend. It has gone well, and I have been able to function normally activity wise, completed a 30 mile bike ride and worked in the yard for about 4 hours on Saturday, and did not feel any more fatigued than I normally would. I believe that I am going to make it a habit on any of the weekends that we are home.

Interbeing, how did u fast? with a bit of food/drink? sometimes I do very low calorie.
the friend wants to give me his cat, too much commitmint for me rn. I do have a fish tank and it doesn't require a lot of effort, I clean the tank once a month, spend some time watching the fish.

the picture I am sharing is The Perrine Bridge. The river is called the Snake. People base jump from it. There is trails to hike to go down on each side and a paved walking/biking trail that runs the south side of the canyon. I like to hike the north side as it is a steep incline gives a great cardio workout. I try to go 3-4 times a month. U can fish from where I was standing on the bank. A nice park is located at this spot.

@walkintofit I begin my fast on Friday evening (About 7:00pm), and only consume non sugar drinks throughout the Saturday, starting with ACV in the morning. While riding my bike I mix non-flavored Creatine and an Electrolyte supplement in 750ml of water, and just the electrolyte in a second 750ml bottle. I will usually complete both bottles during the ride. Once back home, I will have a cup of green tea with a lemon slice. For the rest of the day I consume water, usually about an additional litre and sometimes a black coffee with cinnamon sprinkled in. In the evening I will have another cup of green tea a couple of hours before bedtime. I will break fast Sunday morning around 7:00-7:30am, and start with the ACV, followed by a small breakfast with a boiled egg, 1/2 an avocado, and a sprinkling of grated Pecorino Morino Goat cheese on a slice of flaxseed sprout Ezekiel bread (Non sugar, high protein and fiber bread) and a cup of coffee. If I feel okay about 1/2 hour later I will have a second boiled egg stand alone with a second cup of coffee. Both lunch and dinner for the rest of the day are low carb, and I usually go out for a leisurely hike of 2 to 3 miles just to get some movement in. Monday morning I'm back into my usual routine, starting at the gym at 6:15am.

no perorino cheese or ezekeil bread here, hmm may need to check out subsitutes, got eggs though. U are one tough person to fast that long. I can barely miss 1 meal. I get hangry. i can skip breadfast ok but I am ravenous at lunch. in the past i would eat breakfast skip lunch and eat supper. Working on logging food to see where I'm at besides maintaining. I want to lose the spare tire I have going on. Stress and poor nutrition put it there.

@walkintofit Their should be goat cheese at most grocery stores, I like the grated cheese as I can sprinkle it on things and get the taste without actually using too much. The Ezekiel bread is found in the frozen bread section, it is widely available in most areas that I am aware of. If not, another healthier option is sourdough bread, but try to find it fresh baked, you should be able to find it in most bakeries.

As far as fasting goes, I would suggest to start out with a 12hr fast, and slowly bring it up to 16hrs. Once you have gotten used to the 16 hr fast, you will find that taking it to 24 to 36, or even 48 hrs not so difficult. The benefits of autophagy can't be understated, especially when trying to lose weight.

Best of luck with your fitness journey!
