    Day 51 ~ May 1

    • Sleep ~ 8h 14m
    • Steps ~ 12.902
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1628 calories / 103 protein / 47 fiber
    • Gym at 8:30
    • Bike 60 minutes

Yesterday was the hottest day of the week. I woke up very dizzy and it lasted over an hour which wasn't ideal. Took it a little easy at the gym. Went for a bike ride in the afternoon which was busy again. I was not in the greatest mood because of the heat! I also barely get any steps when I do gym and bike on the same day so I had around 4k steps to go after biking, not fun. No pictures from me today; just wanted to get the biking over with. I am very tired today but I will try to reply to you ladies later. 💜

@Hufflepurr, I just today read your journal here. How interesting that you live in the Netherlands! My daughter and son-in-law are in Utretch! I'm from Kentucky, USA. I understand your journey and have one of my own. I started 8 months ago on my birthday at 216.5 lbs and am now at 174.6. It's been slow and the winter didn't help. I don't get in nearly as many steps/day as you log, but have tried to keep my calories as low as I can (within reason). There's an Arboretum nearby that's great for walking. and I've a big dog that needs walking.

Keep up the good work - it's possible. BTW, I love seeing all your photos!

@RunawayCurves I am sorry to hear you have health issues, me too! I feel very lucky that I have never been bedbound, but I have been house bound. Life is not very fun when you have lots of time but zero energy to do anything. The gardens look beautiful and it's great you have a friend to come along to enjoy them. I am glad you are feeling better, but be careful not to overdo it! I personally get tempted to do a lot when I have a better day, but that just means I am paying it for it the next day, lol. Not super helpful. I am sure you know what is best for you though, I hope your better spell will last a long time. Walking is the best thing you can do for fat loss, so I hope you don't feel bad that you can't do 'more' because it is awesome. ❤️

@200Karen Great pictures again! 💛 The town looks pretty peaceful to me. Having old pictures digital is very nice to have. My dad went through all our old family photos years ago and gave everyone a cd with them on it. It is cool to look back at them sometimes.

@teriD816 Thanks for your nice comment! I used to live pretty close to Utrecht, but I am very happy to be in a small town now with lots of nature. I think you have done an awesome job in 8 months time. Slow and steady is always better! Maybe I will find out my goal was too optimistic, but I will still do my best. Love having an arboretum to walk around in and dogs are great! I hope you will continue being successful on your journey. 💚

    Day 52 ~ May 2

    • Sleep ~ 9h 25m
    • Steps ~ 15.599
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1628 calories / 103 protein / 47 fiber
    • Walk ~ 94 minutes / 5.58 km
    • +/- 90 minutes of gardening

Good morning. Had some time before I have to go to the gym to catch up on posts. Feeling much better today. Yesterday I went for a walk with my camera again. Since I am looking for stuff to photograph, my speed suffers a little! But that is fine, I still got plenty of stepping done. I wish we could still put pictures under a spoiler so the thread doesn't get miles long, but oh well. I keep trying to make the pictures medium sized, but that also stopped working recently. Not much special to see, a couple of common birds, some roedeer while I was biking to my walk and a huge dragonfly.

For my second workout I decided to count my gardening. It was mainly pulling a lot of weeds and grass. My new neighbour has two cats and I am very unhappy about it. Even though I have closed off most of the fence line, somehow one of the cats manages to squeeze through and comes in my garden. It is causing my cat a lot of stress which I hate. I am glad my dad is visiting today so we can buy some stuff to do a better job of keeping them out. I also think the lady is very irresponsible by already letting the cats outside one day after moving. She is very lucky if they don't get lost. I think I will look for a spray bottle so I can keep them away and out of my garden until they learn it is off limits. This probably sounds really silly and not like a big deal, but I was pretty upset about it! Have a good day everyone 💜

@Hufflepurr/ Laura, I love your pictures, I love everyone's pictures whatever size the pics. Bike and gym sounds like plenty of exercise to me. I wish you luck with new neighbour and cats.

@Karen I am looking forward to the BLC challenge and think I understand the tracker page my team uses now.

Welcome Terri and lovely to have more pictures to see.

Yesterday I went to same gardens as day before because they are so lovely it was worth hours on bus to go by myself even though I just went with friend the day before. I walked 26'960 steps and am happy with my food. If I walk more I let myself eat a bit more but still stay in a deficit across the week.

I picked this flower up from the ground just to show how huge some of the flowers are. Leonardslee Gardens were created by a Victorian explorer who collected plants from his global travels. It feels like being in another country when walking around. It is like a tropical paradise at the moment with so many plants in flower.

@ Karen Trampolining sounds fun, isometrics is something that interests me but I have not got around to exploring.

    @Laura,I hope you are ok.

I got back in to focusing on improving health last Sunday 27th April 1 week ago @ 237.5 lb
Today I am 234.5 lb so 3 lb down this week. I have 3 different weigh days for different groups I am in but Sundays are my one. Mondays I attend a local evening group that is done on an old scale in KG so I do not take that too seriously, it started last Monday. I went along because I need a lot of motivation and check in points to stay focused. Then the BLC group has a Wednesday weigh in.
Saturday I walked part of a local walking trail called the south downs way, it is 100 miles long, I just did a small section of it then went on a detour along a river and caught a bus home. My joints were complaining a bit but I took rests along the way. In general my joint and tendon pain responds well to walks as long as take breaks. Being out in the lovely scenery also helps my mental health.

    Day 53 ~ May 3

    • Sleep ~ 8h 37m
    • Steps ~ 13.372
    • Vitamins ~ done
    • Food ~ 1549 calories / 101 protein / 45 fiber
    • Gym at 8:30
    • Over 2 hours of work in the garden

Late post from me today. Yesterday was a super busy day and I am still very tired. I went to the gym in the morning, had a shower, some quick breakfast and my dad was here before I even finished. We went to the store first for chicken wire and some screws and plugs. Then we started with putting up the new roller shades. I thought it would be fast, but nope, the wall was extremely hard in places and did not want to be drilled in. For the 3rd curtain we had to try a different spot which thankfully did work, so I have 4 extra holes in the wall now. It's whatever, just happy that I can make my room nice and dark now which will also be great when I get migraines.

Then we worked on catproofing the backyard which I am also very happy with. My dad went home again around 15:00 so it was a long day. And by then I still had to tidy up some in the garden, cook dinner (I usually cook in the morning but had to switch meals around), fold my laundry, mop my bedroom which got very dusty from all the drilling, clean the waterfountain for my cat and go to the grocery store for potatoes. It was like the day never ended. My legs were so sore when I was just laying in bed, it took me an hour to fall asleep despite my exhaustion. I am still very unhappy with how messy the backyard is. I will do my best to slowly chip away at it one bit at a time.

Here is a tiny caterpillar I found in the garden. It was the first time I saw this type, very funky!

    • Walk 2 ~ 45 minutes / 3.31 km

Not a very interesting day. I was still very tired and decided on a short morning walk. Temperature was great. I did my second walk inside on the pad. I had no energy to leave the house again, bike and then walk. Besides those walks, I had a very chill day which I needed.

Well done on getting so many jobs done.
I am having a lazy few days as my ankle has been sore since my walk the other day, so just taking it easy and re-charging for a bit. Been cold and windy here so another reason to stay in.

Another day with two walks, one outside and one inside. I also did a lot of weeding in the back yard. This will be year 3 of attempting to get a flower field. You would think it is easy, but for me things seems to go wrong every time! Anyway, the area I want the seeds in is mostly clear now, so I will be seeding soon.

Good workout at the gym, got a bunch of groceries after. It was pretty cool outside which was great for my walk in the afternoon. I also mowed the grass before dinner, very happy to have that done. Cleaned the waterbowls I have out for the birds. I wish I had money for new bird food, but they will have to wait a couple more weeks.

I had a very busy and never ending day again. Outdoor walk in the morning was first. It was pretty nice outside and I found another frog, this time in the middle of the trail. He was very hard to spot and he didn't move, so I relocated him off to the side. Then I had a shower at home, cooked food, fixed the clogged drain in my kitchen (oh boy, it was nasty), then did my second walk indoors on the pad, had a quick lunch, cleaned my bathroom, had the second shower of the day, ate dinner and then put away my laundry before bed. I went to bed at 20:00, I was tired.

Thanks Laura! I hope your ankle will feel better soon.
