HEY RIPPERS!!
JUST Checking in with you all - ARE YOU READY??!! MONDAY- OCTOBER 3rd- (Two More Days till we get Ripped!) :drinker: :drinker:
Let's do this!! Just a house keeping note, I happened to look through my Collage Video catalog, and what is suggested for "RIPPED in 30" is TWO sets of dumb bell /hand weights, 3lbs and 10 lbs.
Now, as I've said before, I've not done this DVD before, (I'll be mumbling, grumbling and stumbling through it with the rest of ya ) but I assume that this is a guideline and we'll each have to make amendments according to our own fitness levels. But I just wanted to let you all know of that suggestion, in the event you needed to make any adjustments.
STILL ROOM for more, all you LURKERS!! :glasses: :glasses: :glasses:
COME JOIN US, MONDAY OCTOBER 3rd!0 -
Just pre-viewed our workout. I'm in tears! Finally, someone who has the body shape that was mine! I'm tired of seeing long and lean legs, and arms. Shelly has muscles and legs that are built like mine was when I was a 20-something personal trainer!
I will repeat what Mocha says about the 2 sets of weights. They recommend it, but I'll admit I only saw them using fairly light weights during workout #1.
I seriously can't wait until Monday!!!0 -
I'm ready for tomorrow! I literally cannot wait! Feels like Christmas is coming - am I sad or what?!
Ready to get my sweat on!0 -
I was actually looking at this video in Walmart yesterday. I did the 30DS August challenge and currently doing the C25K . I wanted to pick this up and do it on the off days of the c25k. I cant do it everyday because I am still having knee problems....I wonder if it will be ok to do only 3 days a week with a day of rest on Sunday from both?:bigsmile:0

I think it will be fine as long as you are doing things several times a week. GOOD LUCK!0 -
That is great news! I'm excited- lets do this thing0

I'm ready to start ripped in 30 tomorrow!0

8 Hours from now and I'll be starting my first "Ripped" workout!!! I can't even begin to tell you how VERY excited I am! I have a 10 and 25# plate ready to go. (You don't need them, but I saw some stuff that looked like swings and since I already do 25# swings, I thought I had better plan on going heavy when I can)
I will say up front, I am honored to be taking this journey with every single one of you!
ROCK ON!!0 -
I need motivation..I had planned to do it in the morning, b ut gettig out of bed and the thought of Jillian scared me...
I know I have to do this, I am putting back the weight which I lost after going through so much.
For today I will do it during lunch time, but to be regular I know I have to hit it first in the morning.
Best of luck to you all!!!0 -
Day 1 down! Felt like I was cheating on the shadow boxing after doing them with weights on 30DS L3. That Shelly is super quick on the shadow boxing - going to try and stay with her tomorrow!
@pakks, I couldn't face JM either first thing. So sorted out the children for their day, had some coffee and then faced the music!
Happy Ripping0 -
thank you Katia. Me too had my coffee and will kick off my Day 1 soon0

I did it. Though going through it was painful, it feels so good after completion
I would consider this a big success if I make it through all 4 levels0 -

GOOD JOB!!! I KNEW you could do it! On rough mornings, I remind myself that it's only 20 minutes! I can do ANYTHING for 20 minutes!0 -
I was so excited to get started this morning that I woke up 15 minutes early to start my day! TOTALLY fun! Yes, it was a butt kicker, but I enjoyed the challenge. LOVE circuit 2. I think this is going to completely "rip" my delts!

Thank you cmdaffy and you are right it is only 20 minutes of pain to shed the wrongs done to the body in the past0 -
I just did my first day of Ripped in 30 and came to read the boards and found this thread so I'll join in.
I finished up the 30 Day Shred on Saturday and I have to admit that week one of RI30 was not as big of a challenge. But with any luck that will mean that I won't get as ridiculously sore as I did at the beginning of the shred. I am really excited to move through the levels in this workout and get ripped.
Side note, I couldn't even do one push up when i started working out in July and now I can do several in proper form, but they still destroy me. And it makes me feel like the biggest loser ever because my husband is a push up machine.0 -
Allrighty ladies, I did not get up this morning to get Ripped (I partied just a little too hard Saturday and am still recovering, plus I think I am getting sick). I will try my hardest to do it tonight, unless I take a turn for the worse. So proud of everyone! Kick some *kitten* and I will check in later!0

I did this today! I skipped my typical Monday at the gym and sat here and swore at Jillian. It wasn't as horrible as Day 1 of 30DS so I guess it's a good thing. Yeah!!!0
-
Cant wait till I get home and do this...I'm feeling a bit under the weather today but with runny nose and all I promise to do this...Lets get Ripped!!!0

Good Morning/Afternoon/Day Rippers!!!
Well, MochaBlues is so proud to report that Day 1, Week 1 is behind her!:drinker:
Well, I can say, it wasn't so bad, now that its over:laugh: I started this workout with my 2.5 lb Zumba weights, because I didn't want to start out with the 5lbs and I don't have 3lbs. Anyway, that Sheila is built like a monster (:noway: -I wouldn't mind that at all) For the most part, I hung with Sheila.
I was pleasantly surprised about some of the familiar rountines in the shred. However, with Jillian focusing so much on form in this DVD, I felt as though I had been doing some of the routines incorrectly. I dunno, but I was doing my best to try and maintain proper form, that will definitely be a challenge for me over the next 30 days.
Okay, forewaring (*****ing session) what's with those vertical leaps?:noway: :grumble: Sheeesh, and here I thought when she broke out the "skaters" cardio, I was thinkin, I've done those before not a problem, but Good Lord, did you all see how "Bee" did them- MY gawd:laugh: :noway: I tried to hang with her, but only managed a couple.
Now, on the shred, I could only do the basic side planks with Natalie, Did you all see those Planks "Bee" did? WTH, kind of mess it that?? LOL. MochaBlues definitely has her work cut out for her!
Good workout overall, I was guzzling water throughout the entire workout....Ripped in 30, is definitely doing wonders for my water intake
See all you Rippers tomorrow! Happy Ripping---> Oh and be sure to GET IT DONE! You'll be glad you did:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
Good Luck everyone. I have been doing a few weeks now. I am doing Level 2 I don't do it every day. I can't I get to bored with the same workout. It is a very good workout. I tried getting up at 5 every day last week to do it. I did but I got on day 3 and I was exhausted. I do love these workouts. I have a 2 year old she used to go to bed between 7-8 now it's 8-9 by the time I get done with her I am so tired. That's why I was getting up at 5am but it wears me out. I may just go back to the night workout and staying up a little bit later.0

Hello Ladies!
I'm in! A friend of mine and I were planning on doing Ripped starting October (the meal plan and all)!
I'm planning on doing my workouts after work. I know I will need some motivation with this. I'll make some more comments after I get through the first workout tonight0 -
Cant wait till I get home and do this...I'm feeling a bit under the weather today but with runny nose and all I promise to do this...Lets get Ripped!!!
Wonderful! Let's get it in Rippers!! I know its difficult to get it in, in the morning, heck I'll probably alternate mornings and evenings myself, ...pretty much will be a day by day type of deal. As of right now, I have to get my *kitten* moving up out the bed by 5:30 am :grumble: in order to get the workouts in. So, needless to say, some evening workouts are just inevitable
Btw, WELCOME Rippers.... Jdavis & Carrotz, love to have you join us!0 -
I downloaded the meal plan and I'm not impressed. I guess I was expecting more detail and such. It's pretty much similar to most of the other meal plans that are out there right now. Don't pick on me, but I have the "Look Better Naked" book from Women's Health and the meal plans from that are pretty good. I'm trying to use ideas from all of them and really pay attention to getting enough water, veggies, fiber and the right nutrients. I'm determined to be smokin through the holidays this year - starting with Halloween.0
-
OK, I procrastinated until about 10:45 a.m. and then I knocked it out. I stayed with the lower intensity fairly well, but my side planks were kind of crappy. I am amazed at the amount of calories burned in 24 minutes...I have to walk 40-45 minutes to get the same results. I'm thinking that alone will be enough motivation to keep me on track! I'm hoping to lose 8-10 lbs. during October and I feel like this just might help me do it!0
-
Well, I too have completed my first day of Ripped! It definitely is a good workout! I was a little disappointed with circuit 1, but maybe I'll just have to use heavier weights tomorrow (only for the first circuit, cuz the other two kicked my *kitten*!) I used 5 pound weights for all of 30 DS and I could have used heavier ones for some of the moves, but didn't have any. Maybe tomorrow I'll try 8 pounds for the first circuit and stick to 5 pounds for the rest.
Overall, it should be a great workout as long as I stick to it and I'm hoping that by next month I will be "ripped"!!!
Mocha I love you post about your first day, and I totally agree!
My goal is to work on my form. Some of the moves are new, and I've never seen them, so hopefully I can get them down and do them properly to get the best bang for my buck!
If you haven't done your workout yet today, make sure you get it in!! I know we all work out at different times depending on what works best. But whenever it is, just make sure you do it!0 -
I go to work for the day, and all of you get talkative! Oh, this is bad, I can't remember if I posted this morning.... I'll be back!0
