Hello, I'm Jessica. I recently joined MFP and I need to lose around 100 lbs. I am 5'2 and I weigh 272.8 lbs, as of this morning. My healthiest was when I weighed 160-170, so I'd like to get back to that weight range. I started this week at 276.8, which means I've been really trying hard this week. I usually only last a day or two of trying hard so I must be serious this time 😆
Is it okay to start this challenge even though it is already June? My goal is to lose at least 15 lbs by the end of the summer. Since I've already 4 lbs, I'm hoping doing this challenge will help keep me accountable. If I can keep up momentum, I can definitely reach that goal.

Great work, you got this Jess👏

Exercise💦: 12 hours this week
[My body was wonky this week, retaining water even with taking a daily diuretic, plus I lost 1 whole day of exercising because of apartment repairs by super, plus someone left salty snacks outside my door (still in the package!) and I ate two of the small bags, before emptying the others into the trash the next day!]

Hi! I'd love to be part of an active support group! I lost weight best when I did WW in my early 20's. Loved the group experience and weekly weigh ins! I've struggled with weight my whole adult life. Tried various things. Current thing is walking and intermittent fasting. Most things I've tried work, I'm just horrible at sticking at them for much more than a couple months. I know I need to make this a lifestyle change! Now that my 'baby' is six I feel like I can take a bit more time for me. Though that time is a bit hard to find when homeschooling six children ages 6-15, living on a 275 acre ranch, sewing my own clothes and gardening. In the last year my Dr has put me on blood pressure and cholesterol meds and I'd really like to get back off of them. I'd also like to be a more active mom and better example for my kids. My dad was very overweight and I know how hard that is.
I'm 5'4". My highest weight ever was around 315#. I'm currently at 286#. I would like to see 150# again someday but I also realize that at my age (40) that's going to be an uphill battle. I'll be super excited to be anything under 200# as I probably haven't seen that number for 13 years or so.

It's nice to see how many people have found this post/health challenge. I've been struggling myself lately. Eating badly and more than I should lately. I need to get back on track. I have a cousin coming down to visit soon. it will be interesting to see if I can get on track and find times to exercise with her visiting. ugh! Summer is pretty much here. Super hot outside.

You could involve her in your exercising :).

Sorry about your loss. Think about what she would want for you. I'm sure she'd want you to be happy and continue to pursue your goals. ♥️

Hello Regina. Welcome to MY 100 POUND JOURNEY. Thanks for for joining. You’re doing well with your weight loss. I’m struggling to stay out of the 300 lb range. My long-term goal is 200 lbs, size 16. I’ve no desire to be thin.
My doctor wanted to put me on those meds too, but I refused. Doctors often prescribe those meds unnecessarily. “For individuals with mild hypertension, or cholesterol levels, lifestyle changes like diet and exercise might be enough to lower blood pressure and cholesterol to healthy levels, and medication may not be needed.”
My blood pressure is always much higher at the doctor’s office. It always reads normal when I take it at home. It’s called: WHITE COAT HYPERTENSION.
“This is a common phenomenon where blood pressure is elevated when measured by a healthcare professional, likely due to anxiety and stress associated with the medical environment. Blood pressure readings in a doctor’s office are often higher than they would be at home.”I always have a blood pressure kit, and monitor my BP at home, and I keep my cholesterol under 200 through changes in my diet, not drugs. It’s much healthier that way.

Hello Jessica. Welcome to MY 100 POUND JOURNEY. Thanks for joining. You’ve lost 4 lbs this week. BRAVO! 👏 Yes. You can start in June. Start anytime. You’re doing very well. Keep up the good work. 😀 👍1 -
Well, I messed up. Weighed in at 312lbs. Yep, I put on 6lbs.
I had a few very stressful things happen, which triggered a bad response, and I binged for a week. I deserve the gain, but I've now drawn a line under that behaviour, and am ready to be back on plan. I've done my food shopping for the week, and will be batch-cooking healthier stuff later today to get me through.
I'm gonna stumble from time to time, that's ok, as long as I don't succumb to the spiral. I'm trying not to beat myself up too much about last week, it happened, its done, and I'm moving forward again.

Today is weigh in day-
Down 2.4 lbs this week.Total weight loss of 29.2lbs. So close to 30lbs down!!
Starting weight: 317.6lbs
Current weight: 288.4lbsI’ve been on my journey since April 1st (I made it my ‘April fools resolution’ to get healthy). I am so proud of how far I have come in a little over 2 months. I’ve been really good at tracking my food, eating better, not drinking alcohol or soda. I run a 5k 3x a week at the gym after work. I am very active on a day to day basis, lots of yard work and movement throughout my days.
There have been minor hiccups like going on vacations and grieving with the sudden loss of my cousin but I am trying to not let those things stop me. I just have been getting back on track & the results are showing!
Not going to lie, I wish the number every week was a little more significant than a little over 2lbs because I have so much I need to loose, but I am still proud of myself. My Apple Watch told me that my trend in resting and walking heart rate has lowered over the past 9 weeks.
I think I have been sleeping better since I’ve started taking care of myself.
I feel like I am noticing a physical change in my appearance, looking a little less chubby in the face and clothes are a little looser.
Even though I still hate working out, I push myself to do it because the way I am feeling now is so much better and healthier than when I started back in April. 💪

Just took shot 7. Still not really losing weight. About 4 lbs since I started. Glucose drastically dropped when I first started and it has stayed much lower than it had been. My 7-day average this week is 119. So I’m very happy about that. Hopefully the weight loss will pick up one of these days. I definitely have some side effects from the Mounjaro. Trouble sleeping = fatigue. Often cold. Restless legs. Anyway. I’m celebrating having lower Glucose and grateful to have the help.

I’m happy for you that your blood sugar is down, but I hate that you’re having unpleasant side-effects from the drug. Have you considered looking into natural strategies to lower your blood sugar levels instead of using drugs?

Past Weight: 208.8 lbs
Current Weight: 207.6 lbs
Down 1.2 lbs 😊

Exercise💦: 13 hours this week
[Nothing to report, except that I'm pleased that I'm down at least a pound. My weight has been jumping up and down, even though my eating and water intake has been good. I know I have to "up" my exercise, but even with the A.C. on I don't have that extra "get up and go" !!!😑 Trying to swallow more protein, it's a battle.]

Well done Brian! 1.2 lbs gone. You’re doing great. Better than you think you are. 👏
Losing even one pound can make a difference. Even small amounts of weight loss can positively impact various health aspects, including joint health, blood pressure, and overall well-being.
Seeing a difference on the scale, even a small amount, can be motivating and help you stay on track with your weight loss journey.
Losing weight, even in small amounts, can lead to a feeling of progress and a positive mindset. ☕️

Never hurts to re-remind ourselves the benefits of losing all this weight !!!🙂

Weighed in at 310lbs, so down 2lbs from last week. Feels good to be heading back in the right direction, haha.
4 -
Yay! Jenni. You’re heading in the “right direction”, towards 200-town. You’ll probably have a few more “snaccidents”, but you’ll get there. 😀3 -
Fantastic Jenni👏

It's official: Now 206.2 lbs !!! 😊

Today’s weigh in-
Starting weight: 317.6lbs
Current weight: 285.4lbs
Down 3lbs from last week, total weight loss of 32.2lbs! 🙌
I am proud of this, I thought I didn’t do great on the diet portion of this week but I did work out really hard & I think 3 lbs down shows that. I’m happy 😊
