Restarting, after a long absence... I've found success on MFP and this group in the past and ready to do it again. I was slender and fit my entire life until menopause hit in my early 40s and have been struggling with my weight ever since. I will be doing well with my fitness and lifestyle choices and then either life stresses or recently injuries cause a set back and I gain 20 lbs. (or more) super quick. This will be my 4th time in 8 years to lose this weight. Determined to make it the last time I have to do this!
2018 SW = 172.0 lbs. End Weight = 141.5 lbs.
2022 SW = 193.9 lbs. End Weight = 143.6 lbs.
2024 SW = 165.8 lbs. End Weight = 144.6 lbs.
Start Weight on 7/6/25 = 169.7lbs. Goal Weight = Under 145 lbs. (5'4, 55-year-old female)
Goals for Round 302: I will be on vacation the last few days of this round, goal is to bank some good weight loss in the days before vacation to hopefully start Round 303 no higher than this round's starting weight.
End Round 301: 167.7 lbs.
7/10: 167.4 lbs. I'm recovering from an injury - currently on week 5 of an expected 8-to-10-week recovery, so mostly sedentary all day, steps have dropped from my usual 10-20,000 per day to well under 2,000 daily. I have started in the last few days some non-weight baring exercises to keep my body somewhat moving but my calorie burn is obviously way down…weight loss will be slow until I can start moving again like normal but committed to persevere!

💥💥💥 07/10-190.8 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 190.5) I don’t think I could be more disappointed in myself than I am right now. Overwhelmed. I am hoping for a great round for everyone, myself included. I’m not giving up! Hair appt yesterday and lunch out with my DGS #2. Meals went well, exercise better, water consumption low, snacks over the top. Should I be snacking when I’m hungry or out of habit/cravintgs? Hmmmm…..

I’m both relieved & pleased that MFP policies are enforced. I personally count on /depend on this group to share not only small victories, quick tips, etc., but also vulnerabilities & challenges. I appreciate the opportunity to trust positive support, accountability & compassionate feedback. Thank you MFP!

I am assuming this is in reference to a particular flagged post. It is enlightening to see that MFP does actually respond to member notifications.
Now if MFP could give us back the old post editor, I would be thrilled.

Hi everyone! I've been away from MFP for a while, but back for now at least! I come and go a lot - I'll log in faithfully for a few months, and then I get lazy about logging in and spend a few months away… So I'm back once again!
I'm not far from where I would like to maintain, so that's good. I have a wedding coming up in August. My bridesmaid outfit came in recently and fits like a glove. So I want to make sure that I don't go up AT ALL from here until then. I would love to lose a few pounds by then to have a little bit of wiggle room too!
Because I'm a teacher, I have different weight challenges at different times of year. During the school year, I'm crazy stressed and sometimes have to factor in donuts/other junk food at work. But at the same time, the regimented schedule of the school year helps me to stay on top of exercise. And packing my lunches during the school year helps with portion control a lot. During the summer, I do have more time to be more active and get outside, but sometimes I start slacking because I'm not on a schedule. And if I'm at home, I can very easily go to the pantry and see what's there to snack on.
7/10 - 128.5 lb. First day of being back to counting. Husband brought home thai takeout for dinner, since he was near his favorite restaurant today. He only got one portion for us to share, so that will make it easier to fit into calorie counting. I packed today's lunch to go on a hike/picnic in the morning, so that also helped with portion control for lunch. Once it was gone, it was gone, and no pantry to return to for dessert. Big challenge right now is avoiding my ice cream stash. Whole foods had 50% off ice cream at the beginning of July, and I used that as an excuse to stock up, since the dairy free ice cream that my husband and I can eat is on the pricey side. So I just have to have self control with our ice cream stash.

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 302 (my 232nd). So grateful to @Quiltingjaine to keeping this going for such a long time – thank you.
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! I aim to lose a pound this round. Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".

That self control muscle is a hard one for me flex. Making poor choices last night gives me a bit of anxiety that I’m going to make poor choices again today.
I have to shake it off- today is a new day! It’s 5am and of course I’ve got that “I can do anything” attitude. It starts with 5:30 bootcamp.@_JeffreyD_ wishing you the happiest of birthdays and another year filled with joy and adventure.

Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two years have lost about 90 pounds, give or take a couple. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase.

I have been searching for a group for my daily maintenance struggles without sounding annoying to those that are struggling to lose weight. Looks like I might have found it.
Yesterday was a very busy day, Monty (the Goldendoodle) had his yearly check-up in the AM, then we went for our normal morning walk. We were working on installing a reverse osmosis water system. When I say "we" I mean Greg (hubby). But, I am his apprentice, so just stand around waiting to pass the tools. Did you all know there is something called an alligator wrench! Who knew. The water tastes just like the spring water we have been buying. I was going through a gallon a day, and then with coffee, Monty, and Greg probably another gallon or two. At $2 a gallon the system should pay for itself very quickly.
Well, finished that about 5:00, and then just ended up getting Subway for dinner. Called Allyson (daughter) and she was super chatty - a 30+ minute phone call. I still had to workout, so did a quick strength, and some VR boxing and then time for bed. I got it all done!
@judefit1 This is my first time with 10 days; I know I've seen you around, I've been on many a challenge looking for the ones that are fit me for me.
@_JeffreyD_ Happy Belated!
@musicsax Oh that saying, "I am not a shark or even a piranha!" I am going to steal it! And thank you for the "glossary", I did have to use it for a few acronyms.

A good start to the round thanks to reasonable eating and excellent exercise. I rode my bike about 19 miles; about half of it was in heart rate zone 3. The bad part was it was the heat of the day. I downed a liter of LMNT drink during the ride and immediately afterward. We belong to a CSA (community supported agriculture.) The farmer gives us a bag full of freshly picked veggies every Tuesday, based on what is ripe this week. This week had the most beautiful kale I have ever seen. That is where my appreciation for kale stops. BUT, DW stir fried it with a bunch of other veggies and it changed everything. Very delicious.
Happy Birthday to Jeff. So, I will have two opportunities for ice cream today. 😊 I hope I can maintain this number.

@CamandJarvis : following the news from your region, and I know we had another member who was near NC last year during that nightmare flood. I am so sorry for all who have lost so much, and I know that when the news dies down you'll still be digging out and repairing. Any hints on what's needed (money is fine) and to whom we should donate are appreciated- TY

5'3, 36 years old, SAHM to 3 year old twins.
301 Ending Weight: 144.2
7/10: 145.8. Not what I wanted to see, but it makes sense. A bit of extra sodium with dinner last night, and TOM. Food was in calories, a short walk, no run.
Tonight, we are taking our boys to our friends' to go swimming in their pool. We'll have dinner with them, so my food will be a bit out of the norm. Who knows how that will appear on the scale tomorrow. I'm planning to be careful with portion sizes and drinks. But it's going to be fun and I'm looking forward to it.
7/11: 143.9. I'm happy with today's weigh in. We had fun with our friends last night. There was food there, but the evening didn't center around eating and drinking. My food was good yesterday, not much of a walk due to heat, but I did do a 4 mile treadmill run.

I’m back after a break and my family visitors are gone so I’m off the “entertainment committee” and now focusing on me.

Yesterday, walked 60 mins, then stretched out. Enjoyed lunch - too hot and humid to golf right now. Heat index 102. We met because one of the gals can't play as awaiting hip replacement. While doing tests for surgery, found lung infection and spot on adenoid. Now, she can't have hip surgery as they have to clear up lung infection before anesthesia is allowed. Big AND….biopsy on adenoid as they are thinking the big "C". She had no symptoms and nothing would have been found if not for pre-surgery check-up.
7/10 - 169.8 - planned my food for the day. Includes lunch w/ golf buddies as too hot/humid to golf now.
7/11 - 169.0 - local seafood market I buy from having special on lobster rolls today. I'm buying one for dinner. Planning trip to gym for Strength workout. Cardio afterwards. Going to be a good Friday!!

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 302
July 10 - 19, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress loss if2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6GW Maintaining between 124 – 126 SW: 127.6 Since my weight is slowing coming back down, I’ve added back in history details INCLUDING my maintenance numbers. In January, it seemed silly including my goal was to maintain 124 – 126 when I was weighing 138. Those maintenance numbers are in sight now. Just need to get there.
SW: 128.0
7/10 – 129.0 The ice cream I bought for my sister (arriving tonight) is now gone. I guess I pre-gamed my stress eating that typically happens when she is here. She’ll be staying with us until mid-day Monday. All around, I am going to try and handle things better. Oh, I did the math. I was about 1500 calories over by the time I got done. :’(
7/11 – 128.4 Made it through yesterday fine. Planned ahead and tracked completely. I did go over my target by 100, but thoughtfully decided to. Not an uncontrolled binge. My big success was that I weighed out a portion of ice cream (gram setting on scale) and tracked it, instead to treating the whole container as a single portion, which is not uncommon for me.

Good morning everyone!
7/10 - 128.5 - AM hike and picnic lunch (packed myself salmon salad with wheat thins, peppers, plum, and a cutie). Thai takeout for dinner, but split the portion with my husband. My FIL brought us croissants, which I LOVE, but could be a major temptation. I had one as a snack, which fit into my calories. I just had to not eat a bunch of other snacks too. Snacking is usually my downfall, so I have to have self control with that.
7/11 - 127.6 (-0.9) So far so good!
