Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. Am an absolute turtle at losing and a hare at backsliding! This round my hope it to hang on to each loss then move down from there. Put an end to this eternal yo-yoing.
“You don’t have to throw a pass down the whole length of the field to score a touchdown. You can get there one yard at a time.”
Day 01 ~ 08/23: 175.2 Battling a cold; kids visiting. Walked about 45 min ‘in the valley’. Yeah me!! No appetite for snacking 😊 but hot drinks with lemon and honey.
Day 02 ~ 08/24: 175.8 Rough night. But sun is shining, house is empty again, and kayak is loaded. Solo paddle on Greeny.
Day 03 ~ 08/25: 175.4 Both of us now have colds ☹
Day 04 ~ 08/26: 176.6 Hubby to ER with chest pains; dx was due to shingles. Paddled
Day 05 ~ 08/27: 176.4 Labour Day plans cancelled; kinda sad but relieved b/c need to get back to veggies and proteins, as per WW plan.

Day 03—08/25—145.0 I’ve been in bed the past 2 days with flu-like symptoms, eating only sporadically. I’m pretty sure that’s what led to this almost 2 lb drop since Friday, and I’m not mad about it! Looking forward to getting outside with Kaya for a walk today. I really need some sun after being cooped up.

Good Afternoon, All!
@deepwoodslady , wow. I have never had Thai food. Hope the bloat passes soon!
@Takarameri , that IS a very consistent loss....WTG!
Day 01—08/23— 162.6 - Had a busy day yesterday. I got my new ebike! Although most of it was already assembled, I did need help putting on the front wheel. Took time to figure out all the different latches used to fold it up. Its not light ....about 55 pounds but I can lift it into the back of my SUV where I will keep it. Its VERY fast....at least for this 71 year old....so I have to get used to the throttle. But it's going to be a lot of fun.
I had a couple ears of corn for lunch....couldn't resist the last gasp, end of the season fresh corn. Dinner will be salad. Snack will be strawberries.
Day 02—08/24— 163.6 - Finished off the corn for lunch and had a little pasta salad. That's the carbs for the day. I'll have a green salad for dinner.
A friend of mine in Canada sent me a check for my vet bill....I am so appreciative. Still have a long way to go, though.
Day 03—08/25— 163.8 - I finished off leftover lasagna. Interesting that pasta doesn't affect my blood sugar like corn does. I approve. 🙂

Day 02—08/24— 346 Worked last night and I know I could have done better on my water intake.
Day 03—08/25—344 I had chiropractic and massage today so I'm feeling pretty good. Tried a new salmon recipe for dinner that was very tasty.
Day 04—08/26—343 Feeling pretty good about this start. I'll be working the next 4 nights so hopefully I can keep the trend going.
Day 05—08/27—341.4 my shift tonight got canceled so I have some unexpected free time. I'm surprised by the steady downward trend in weight but I guess the focus on logging food is paying off.
Day 06—08/28—343.4 Here's the expected uptick due to fluid and TMI but I'm still doing good at weighing in, logging food and sticking to my calorie limits so I'm not stressing

This is M13 this is a one of the largest and brightest in the night sky, this is globular cluster. Several million stars are orbiting each other, this objects are some of the oldest in the universe. The universe doesn't make these any more, they were made when the first galaxies were forming and there was a much denser population of mass. This is part of the Milky Way and there are several hundred of these objects in the Milky Way. We age galaxies based on the ages of their globular clusters, and the star in the clusters. You can only see about 10% of the stars in this cluster most of the stars in the cluster are red dwarfs that are too cold to emit visible light.

Hi All,
I'm Jenny, 60 years old, 5’6” and hit my goal weight in Feb. 2024 with the help of this group - maintained for 8 months and then just hit a really stressful stretch of life with toxic work situations, long hours and the stress of building a new home in DE and selling our old home in NY. It's like I defiantly watched myself start binge eating, drinking more alcohol and gaining almost every pound back. So here I am again - finally settled in the new house and doing what worked for me the first time - daily weighing, IF, logging and exercise. I’m also adding Noom to the mix to help me find better ways of coping with stress. My goal for this challenge is to simply keep with it – even after a slip. I can do this – I’ve done it before, I can do it again!
Day 04—08/26: 225.0 – It’s never pretty to step on the scale after a weekend away, but the jump scare is necessary! Did a cardio/weights workout and had a good day getting back OP.
Day 05—08/27: 219.6 – A pretty massive water whoosh for one day! Took a nice 30 min walk around the new neighborhood with DH, who is now doing food prep for us as we speak. Our main impetus for moving was to get him out of his toxic job, so now that he has more free time he has taken over all the household stuff, even the cooking which he had never done before…I wrote down instructions and turns he is actually really good at it! His cooking is actually better than mine, and takes a huge burden off my plate! So hopefully life will be less stressful for us both.
Day 06—08/28: 219.6 – A good OP day yesterday, a nice cardio/weights workout and a stretch this morning. Day 3 OP always results in the same thought for me – this isn’t so hard, why do I let myself crash for so long??
Day 07—08/29: 219.0 – OP yesterday and made an old favorite for lunch – Hungry Girl’s “Cold Sesame Zucchini Noodles.” Added some chicken and it was a yummy change! Spaghetti squash & homemade turkey meatballs for dinner was also yum. Enjoyed a walk with DH and starting to feel stronger. The holiday weekend coming up will be a challenge but I need to stay focused. There's a lot to do around the house so hopefully that will keep me busy and distracted!
Week 1 Loss or Gain: 6.0 pounds lost (a lot of water weight!)

Hi : - )
I am Dawn. I will turn 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week.
Day 01—08/23— 137.8 - Split shifts today and tomorrow, and lots to do in the garden on my breaks. As usual, happy to see y'all each morning. Some of us have been doing this post for years! Accountability and familiarity.
Day 02—08/24— 139.8 - Really? A 2 pound gain overnight? Argh. Typical for me though. Banner day, no reason for such a gain. If I have an indulgent day I am okay with a gain, but I didn't. Maybe just "transit" lol.
Day 03—08/25— 139.8 - Okay, that one I deserved because I had 2 cocktails after work last night. I used to be on a forum to drink less alcohol. I ran out of time for other forums besides this one, so I stopped that, the 10 day challenge, the monthly challenge etc. My aim when I was on the less alcohol was 16 AF (alcohol free) days per month. I still hit that. I am not giving up alcohol or smoking, not interested. I really overheated during my break from my split shift yesterday. My break comes at the hottest part of the day, 3-5pm. Tomorrow I have a friend coming at noon for Mojitos and a visit, so definitely I will be AF today.
Day 04—08/26— 139.8 - I'm not sure if I have ever had the same weight 3 days in a row. It is a very nice day here so far, blue sky, no clouds, no wind. It is supposed to get hot again. Yesterday I finally got into my little pool after work, which has been set up and filled for at least a month but I didn't have time. I weeded the potato garden, got really hot, took the cover off of it and got in. So nice : - ) Yes, I could have overheated more and cut the grass, but enough is enough some days lol. There were lots of wasps flying around me, they need to learn my smell and co-exist. They are great for pollinating peppers, tomatoes, and other things.
Day 05—08/27— 141.0 - Didn't find time to post. Not happy to be back in the 140s, that is for sure.
Day 06—08/28— 141.2 - My body is really holding on to "stuff". Scrambling to get so much done in the yard before I go away, always at the hottest time of the day. I didn't try to pick up extra shifts this week since I am on 13 without a day off and have too much to do in the garden. Yes, I did submerge myself in my little pool when I overheated yesterday : - )
I tried the new MFP Food diary, and it asked for feedback. I gave it. The end of the day is no longer in colour and laid out with the pie chart etc, the "in the green" is no longer vibrant. I did ask why we have been plunged back into 1987 with this RTF, and did mention that we of a certain age did in fact enjoy that 38 years ago, but couldn't understand why with all of the more modern technology that we have to suffer with this "new" format. Do they make changes just for the sake of making changes or do they want us to find a more modern system elsewhere? I did leave Sparkpeople because at that time MFP was better, but it no longer is.
Day 07—08/29— 140.8 - My belly is so full that it hurts, TMI. Monday is a stat and I am working 2 separate jobs that day so I should be getting some paycheques while away on vacay this comnig month.

Good Morning, Peeps! How did you all do this week? I will go back and check on everyone's progress.
@Jon4189 , awesome week...great job!
@JimnKC , got that pound off...WTG!
I approve. 🙂
Gonna get out for a little while on the ebike.…practice getting used to it. Riding an ebike is not like riding an analog bike.
Day 04—08/26— 164
Day 05—08/27— 163.8 - Forgot to post yesterday, but did weigh myself. Today I had my follow up appointment with my hand surgeon. He cut a scab off my wound (ick) and told me not to let it dry out....keep putting the antibiotic on it and bandage it. Two more weeks. But I am allowed to swim....I just have to redress the wound after I am done. I can't wait till this thing is finally healed.
I had a craving for fried chicken today, so on the way home I got some. Craving gone....and I move on.
Day 06—08/28— 164.2 - I expected an increase so I am not concerned. Had eggs and one English muffin for breakfast. Skipping lunch. Dinner will be salad.
The complex is having their ice cream social in about a half hour. I have never gone before but I will get a cone this time.
Day 07—08/29— 163 - Oh well....didn't make goal, but I will, hopefully next time. I finished off my strawberries and had an English muffin for breakfast. Not sure about the rest of the day yet.
I had another night of panic attacks. SO exhausting! I hope I don't have another night like that for awhile, although I know it's inevitable eventually.

Total Lost/Gained this challenge: xxxxx

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. Portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

Day 06—08/28—185.6 〰️ (Trend Weight: 185.3) Thai food yesterday out-of-town, and this after another unexplained bump up from day before! I haven’t had Thai in a couple of years as there is no Thai restaurant around me or in most of the cities I visit. I have thick ankles and hands today along with swollen tummy as I don’t drain well with this heart condition. I’ve decided not to weigh today and just use yesterdays disappointing weight because I am sure I am temporarily bloated. I just need to release this fluid and see where I really stand!
⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️Day 07— 08/29-- 183.2 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 185.1) No TMI x 2 but still a nice sodium fueled water whoosh from the Thai food the other day. Goodbye to that! It’s a 4 day Holiday weekend in the U.S. I must be very careful not to let it get out of hand. I have one day of some pretty distant medical travel next week and that’s enough on my plate, so to speak. Ha! Well, I did ended up reaching and even exceeding goal this week. Honestly didn’t think I would. It felt like the sand in the hourglass was running out quickly. There’s at least one day of travel every week coming up as I squeeze in as many specialist appointments as possible (to avoid that slippery winter driving coming up). So every week I will likely be battling a travel gain. A challenge within a challenge. I’ll do my best! See you all in Week 2.

Day 06 ~ 08/28: 176 cancelled paddling plans.
Day 07 ~ 08/29: 175.8 day 8 of this cold; not impressed! Back to work tomorrow so hoping for a miracle.
Week 1 Goal: 174.?
Week 1 Actual Weight: 175.8

@Jon4189,
we have a long weekend too as altho Labor Day was initiated in the US (in 1894), apparently Canada soon followed with our Labour Day honouring workers too.

Hello all!! I'm back from our trip. We had 14 glorious days. I'll share more once I have some pictures. For now, I'll stick with my challenge introduction:
I'm Teri, a 57 year old recent retiree. Between Covid and menopause I put on 30 pounds. During 2024, I was trying to lose weight and ended the year 7 pounds higher than I started. At the beginning of 2025 I weighed 155lbs. I did a bunch of search, reading and Youtubing (is that a word?, it is now). Based on this, I learned that post-menopausal women needs for weight loss are a little different. This is my third 100 day challenge (and the second one I'm starting right after returning from a trip). These challenges have given me the extra accountability that I needed to really look at my data and stay on track.
My 2025 progress includes a fair number of ups and downs. After several months, I finally figured out that 1770 target IN calories was the 'right' target for me and consistency was just as important. Weight was slowly but surely coming off. Before our trip, I was down to 140.6.
My ultimate goal is 125lbs and/or 25% body fat. None of this is an exact science, so I'll reevaluate when I get there.
This morning (first post-cruise weigh in) I was at 145.5lbs. I had projected gaining one pound per week, so I've more than doubled that. I suspect that some of this is 'food in transit' and swelling from the travel day. I expect that I'll have a pretty significant drop over the next week and then I'll have a better idea of how much I really gained while away. The cruise fitness instructor reassured me by saying "You really can't do that much damage in 10 days."
I was logging my food, but not worrying about how much. There are a couple of 3700 calorie IN days! We were also pretty active, so I was burning calories as well.
I use the 7 day average for my weight and prorated my vacation gain on my spreadsheet, so my graph didn't have a big gap in it.

Day 04—08/26—145.3

I've caught up on the posts in this challenge. I haven't gone back to catch up on the last weeks of challenge #23. Welcome to all the newcomers! We are so glad to have you with us. Joining this challenge earlier this year has really made a difference for me and I hope it does the same for you too.
A little more about me. I'm 5'5", married for 34 years in October, have four grown children and a Newfoundland dog. I'm Canadian and live in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Weight graph for 2025:
I added the challenge numbers, but I joined during week 4 in Challenge #22.
We are camping again from Sept 8 to 19. I've learned how to 'live' while camping and not go completely off track. I have not learned how to vacation and not go completely off the track. The good news is, it takes about two weeks to get back to where I was before going on vacation.

Workouts are good right now, and it has also been a bit easier for me to keep my food calories on track. I think it's because I've cut back on sodium/sugar, and few of those ubiquitous sweet/salty snacks are appealing to me. The palate does change.
I had a really busy week and couldn't post here, but I still logged everything. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Hi : - )
I am Dawn. I will turn 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week.
Week 1 Start Weight: 137.8
Week 1 Goal: 136.8
Week 1 Actual Weight: 140.8 - Exactly a 3 pound gain : - (
Day 08—08/30— 140.2 - I had to "quick add calories" to yesterday's food diary, I added 230. This happens very rarely. After work I had errands to run, and then spent a few hours on yard/garden stuff since I am running short of time before my trip departure. I ate "lunch" at 8:00, so no time or appetite for dinner. I did have a bowl of green beans that I had picked, that was around 10:00. One of these days my bathroom trip will not be an hour after I weigh and I will get a woosh. 2 cups of coffee each morning, no point in weighing after that.
End of day (while it still looks like this before MFP changes it):

Hello three day weekend! Everyone have a great weekend! Already been out riding and first time this year I got rained on, it felt good!
I'm 57 years old, 6'2", and my goal for this 100-day challenge is to reach 178 lbs. I started at 4/11/2025 at ~217.
Day 08—08/30— 190.5
Day 09—08/31—
Day 10—08/01—
Day 11—08/02—
Day 12—08/03—
Day 13—08/04—
Day 14—08/05—Week 1 Start wt: 192.5
Week 2 Start wt: 191.0 (loss of 1.5 lbs)I think I figured out why for about 3 weeks I kind of plateaued, I started taking creatine (1.25g a day), I am working out a lot on the bike, and to keep growing muscle it is recommend I take creatine. I didn't grow that much muscle in that time, creatine causes you to carry between 2-4lbs. of water. So as I was losing fat, I was gaining water in offset. Now that my creatine is stable, I am carrying extra water, so now my weight loss is showing up again. This shows that small changes in diet can cause body changes, this is why I track the trend.
Really 1.25 grams a day cause you to hold on to water. That is why it is so important not to over react to a single weight in and to trust the process. One meal will not over throw weeks of work, the body is complex machine, and small micro diet changes can cause all kinds of results. Food high in creatine can cause this too, as can salt, MSG, wheat gluton…. etc. etc…
I know if I keep honest tracking calories results will follow, it might take a week or three but it will happen! :) First time I have seen 190.X on a scale in years! My scale that calculates body fat has me at 23.4… my bmi is 24.4… my BMI when I started in April was 28.3 and my body fat was 27.4…. I am getting there together! Thanks everyone for all the positive comments and keeping me motivated!

Hi All,
I'm Jenny, 60 years old, 5’6” and hit my goal weight in Feb.
Spaghetti Squash & Turkey Meatballs for dinner was also yum. Enjoyed a walk with DH and starting to feel stronger.
Week 1 Loss or Gain: 6.0 pounds lost (a lot of water weight!)
Day 08—08/30: 218.6 – OP yesterday, and plan to stay that way today as well. Had a walk with DH yesterday and a good cardio/weights workout this morning, it’s a beautiful day so we’re about to go check out the new community pool that was just finished.

Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. Am an absolute turtle at losing and a hare at backsliding! This round my hope it to hang on to each loss then move down from there. Put an end to this eternal yo-yoing.
