@chaney3000 listen to your body, some days you just have to rest!

Yesterday I did zumba and walked my dogs. Today I'm weight training at the gym!

I attempted a rest day on Saturday, but got bored and did a 12 mile walk. I went climbing today for about 2 hours, I was out of form.

    The walk had nice views.

Well, I kinda went to the gym last night after work. Just did some cardio (elliptical and stationary bike) for about an hour. I was starting to feels some DOMS kicking up so thought I should go move that build up around some. So today's plan is to take an actual rest day. Might do some stretching and foam rolling but that's it.

Not sure how you "kinda" go to the gym. A workout doesn't have to be intense to count as a workout.

I've seen a lot of people do a "kinda" workout at the gym. They start by sitting on a bench and start texting. Then, they go to a machine and text more. After such a tough workout, they hit the sauna... and of course text what a great workout and how they sat at 5 different machines/benches.

Given @chaney3000's posting history on this thread, I'm betting bench-sitting isn't the applicable definition of "kinda" in this case! 😆

No worries Fitness Family. My definition of "kinda" is; I wasn't supposed to go to the gym that day but went anyway.

But, rest day was yesterday so today's workout is a 4 mile run on the treadmill. Stretching and foam rolling. 😁

@chaney3000 and @AnnPT77 I was going to try to dig myself out of my posting of "kinda" but decided to go the other direction with "kinda" being walking around thinking, "hey that looks fun..let me give it a try."

@chaney3000 'kinda' going to the gym is better than sitting on your couch!! All movement counts! I've sometimes gone to the gym and instead of lifting weights, just got on a treadmill and walked. I felt better and worked off some 'blues'. Keep doing your 'kinda'!

    😆 I - of course - don't speak for @chaney3000, but I didn't think your comment was personal, i.e., about Chaney3000.

I just posted back because I thought there was a major and kind of hilarious contrast between the kinds of things you mentioned people "kinda" doing at the gym (which they do) and the kinds of things Chaney3000 routinely reports here as workouts.

    No criticism of you intended!

    Calf raises 3x30

    Hamstring curls 3x10

Glute kick backs 3x10 each leg

    Abductor/Adductor 3x20

Quad extensions 3x10 then to failure

Zumba class this evening. Got too many chores to get done today.

Today was a fun workout. I went in the backyard and hit golf balls into a net. Well, not all golf balls went into the net. Some bad shots ended up going into a neighbors yard or down the alley way.

Thank you for the clarification @AnnPT77 Some people get over sensitive and the last thing I needed was people confusing humor with insults

Last night workout was brutal. Had to tweak it some. No Glute kick backs. Added some Weighted Lunges (80lbs) and Bulgarian split squats (60lbs) instead.

Anyhow, today's workout is a 6 mile run in this nice crisp air. Nothing too intense. Easy pace ro loosen up these sore muscles.

Some stretching and foam rolling to finish it off before I go to work.

Body Combat Aerobics this morning with a 1.5 mile run afterwards!

In a sad admission that off-season is on the ultra-near horizon, I did an on-ramp stationary bike workout: Keeping it short duration (half an hour plus 3' cool-down), moderate pace (92W average including CD), supposedly 8.3 miles at 14.6mph.

Feels distressing that it was two-thirds zone 3 at that pace, presumably because I haven't done much biking this season since early Spring. Aargh. Room for improvement, conditioning-wise. Or maybe I'm misremembering past performance. 🤷‍♀️

Today's workout is a 6 mile run on the treadmill. Didn't get to run yesterday since it was raining and I was on my way to work so didnt have any extra dry clothes to wear for the trip in the car from my run spot to the gym where I shower. So made an adjustment and did a cardio day with stretching and foam rolling yesterday.

I woke up this morning with excuses to not go to the gym. I reminded myself that exercising is a great way to kick off the day. I'm glad that I convinced myself. It was a random workout mostly shoulders and lats. I do enjoy lats.

I kept true to my self-promise of no gym trips this week while I recovered from my lower back muscle tweak, but last night while I was out of the house my wife and daughter decided to rip up the carpet in the part of the bathroom where the cats litter box lay, so today I get to haul all the detritus downstairs to the trash can for disposal. Good thing my back's feeling almost back to normal!
