@fabgeekmom Thank you ! I am enjoying myself. The Day of the Dead was fun. I hope you enjoyed the food and Wicked.

@theslightedgeforever Thank you ! Good job with the exercise. Yes, let's have a healthy week.

Hi all. Yesterday was more fun, we went to breakfast, coffee, then ran around and then to my art show. I dropped my friend off and went grocery shopping with my husband. My friend and I went for a drink and then went to a nice Indian restaurant for dinner. After that, we were both tired so we parted ways. I just got back from dropping her off at the airport a bit ago. Back to reality!

@trooworld That sounded like an exciting day. @theslightedgeforever Yes, I got my walk in. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I had air fried tofu with vegetables for lunch today. I also had some egg wraps I made from the Skinnytaste High Protein Cookbook. My son made a slow roasted salmon for dinner that was good. I made polenta in the instant pot and butternut and delicata squash in the air fryer.

@fabgeekmom Yes , it was. Good job with the swim. Sounds like healthy meals.

Hi all. I wasn't feeling well yesterday at work: rundown, runny nose...today, I am staying home because I am still not feeling well. My husband made cheeseburgers for dinner last night with air fryer fries.

@trooworld I’m sorry you don’t feel well. I hope you are better. Cheeseburgers and fries are always good, even better when someone else prepares them. Hi, all. I went for a walk this morning. It was a bit cool when I got started but was warmer when I got into the walk. Luckily we had a sunny day. Our hairdresser came to our house and we have new hair cuts. My cousin brought me some navy bean soup with smoked turkey legs last night so that is what’s for dinner. I’m going to make a Skinnytaste recipe for cornbread. It has corn in it so it should be denser and more filling.

@fabgeekmom Thank you . Yes, you are right about cheeseburgers! Good job with the walk. That soup sounds yummy, I am making something similar on Friday. The cornbread I make from ATK is similar to what you are making in that it has corn in it.

Hi all. I am still rundown, but my nose is better, so I am going to work. The good thing about taking yesterday off is that it is already Wednesday. I don't know if I said this, but I had to do a sleep study to see if I could stop using my CPAP machine. Well, I had to redo it last night because the first time I did the sleep study, they didn't tell me not to use my CPAP machine. Last night, I did the study again without the machine. I didn't feel like I slept well, but my watch gave me an EXCELLENT score, so maybe I slept better than I thought...or maybe the watch is full of it lol.

@trooworld I am glad you are feeling better. That’s good that you got an excellent sleep score. Losing weight has so much impact on your health. Hi, all. I didn’t sleep well last night because I was cold. This morning we took off the summer spread and are putting on the fall/ winter one. I was hurting from being cold but swimming helped. Tonight I am making individual meat loaves with a soy glaze along with roasted carrots, white potatoes and sweet potatoes. The muffins were good last night and we have some for tonight, too.

@fabgeekmom Thank you . I think I'm sleeping better because my doctor started me on estrogen: I was sleeping poorly until about 2 weeks ago when I started the estrogen. But yes, losing weight does has a great impact on your health. Sorry you didn't sleep well and that you were hurting. That's good that swimming helped. Dinner sounds good.

Hi all. I left work early yesterday, I wasn't feeling well still. I think I'll be able to stay all day today, at least I hope so. I made air fryer pizza bombs last night for dinner: you take Pillsbury Grands and split each biscuit into two thinner biscuits, and then put cheese and pepperoni in the middle and roll it up into a ball. Then you put a butter mixture on top of the balls and air fry for 6 minutes. You dip them in pizza sauce. They are really good and easy to make.

@trooworld That makes sense that the estrogen would help you sleep. I hope you are able to stay at work and feel better. The pizza bites sound good. Hi, all. I slept better last night and feel better today. I’m going for a walk after breakfast. DS is making balsamic chicken and a recipe from ATK for baked ziti for dinner tonight.

@fabgeekmom I was kind of surprised , as my doctor never gave me an indication that it would help my sleep. If she did, I would have started it when I first had trouble sleeping. Thank you. I'm glad you slept better and felt better. I hope you enjoyed your walk. That sounds like a good dinner.

Hi all. I was able to stay all day at work yesterday, but I did have to clock out for an hour to get my tire taken care of: I had a low tire when I went out to drive to work...I stopped at a gas station to fill it but the gas station's air pump was underwhelming and wasn't inflating it. I tried again at work, using a small compressor that came with my car, but it only made it worse. So, I went to Discount Tire and they said all my tires needed air lol. I ordered a better pump to keep in my car. I had more pizza bombs for dinner last night. I lost 2 lbs this week, which surprised me since I ate out so much while my friend was here. I thought for sure I'd gain a big amount.

@trooworld Good job on the weight loss. It looks like even though you ate out a lot, you practiced portion control. I’m glad you are feeling better. Car stuff is always frustrating. Hi, all. Dinner was good last night and we are eating the leftovers tonight. Today was a swim day. Otherwise, not much is going on.

@fabgeekmom Thank you ! Yes, I did. I agree about car stuff. I'm glad your dinner was good. Good job with the swim!

Hi all. I worked on my annual review's self-evaluation portion yesterday during work hours. I hate those things. I have to put a lot of effort and thought into it, and I just don't like doing it. After work, we went to the gym, and it wasn't too bad there. I had to change up my routine once, but I wasn't too annoyed. We went to Trader Joe's for groceries after that. Luckily, I had put a recipe in the crockpot (Senate Bean Soup, from the NY Times) and it was done when we got home, so I didn't have to make something. This morning, we are going to the gym, and then later in the morning, I am meeting a new artist friend at the coffee shop, and we are going to do some artwork. After that, my husband and I are going to get the rest of the groceries and then go pick up some take-out and go sit in our car at the beach and listen to an audiobook I've been wanting to listen to (King Sorrow by Joe Hill). It should be a busy, but fun, day!

@trooworld You really had a busy day and got a lot done. I have made that soup recipe but I followed the ATK one which is probably the same at the NYT. Hi, all. The weather was nice and warm so I had a relaxing walk. It’s supposed to start raining and get cooler so I enjoy the warm days. We had roast beef, baked potatoes and honey carrots for dinner. I followed an ATK for the beef which was easy. The carrots were also ATK. DS was impressed that I used butter as I usually leave it out.

    trooworld Posts: 203 Member

@fabgeekmom I did . Ah, yes...the soup...there wasn't enough ham in it for me: the ham hocks were pretty fatty. Next time, I'd add some ham. But the flavor was good. I'm glad the weather was good for your walk. Dinner sounds good. I love butter, but use it sparingly as well.

Hi all. I had a nice day yesterday, although things ended up differently than planned. I met the fellow artist and we got to know each other a little better, which was nice. I worked on a piece for an upcoming show. We didn't go to the beach: we just listened to the audiobook at home. I didn't have lunch, as we were running around. I didn't eat from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, and was starving by the time I had a chance to eat, which was leftover bean soup. Today, we are starting the day by going to the gym. I switched up my plan so I can use the machine that the mean guy uses before he gets into the gym. I don't feel like dealing with him. I am meeting another artist this morning for art time. Should be fun!

@trooworld I don’t remember using a ham hock in the soup. I think a ham steak would be better. That was a good idea to use the machine before the rude guy used it. Hi, all. I made protein bagels for breakfast today. They were good and filling. Lunch was leftover beef. DH and I went to Sam’s Club for a few things. My daughter is cooking dinner at my house tonight.

    trooworld Posts: 203 Member

@fabgeekmom The recipe calls for 2 ham hocks , and I liked the flavor it imparted, but using a ham steak is necessary because of the small amount of meat on the hocks. Protein bagels sound like a good breakfast. I hope you enjoyed dinner.

Hi all. I had a great day yesterday, but it flew by. At the gym, I did not run into the rude man, and I went to "his" machine first and started there. I met up with that other fellow artist and had a great time painting and talking. My husband and I picked up cheeseburgers to go and shared a French fry order. I didn't eat much of the fries, and not all of my burger. We ran some errands and came home, and I made pot roast in the Instant Pot, which turned out well.

@trooworld That’s good that you enjoyed the burger and fries without overeating. I know you enjoyed the gym without the stress of the rude guy. Hi, all. Dinner was good last night. DD prepared a sheet pan recipe with chicken sausage, gnocchi and broccoli. This morning I ate a protein bagel with Canadian bacon and cheese. I had 2 leftover that I put in the freezer for later. Today is a swim day. For dinner I’m making a Skinnytaste recipe with ground beef, pasta, vegetables and cheese.

@fabgeekmom I did enjoy it . I hadn't had a "real" burger in a long time! And yes, I enjoyed the gym. I'm glad dinner was good. Breakfast sounded yummy, too. Good job with the swim. I hope dinner came out well.

Hi all. I had sort of a bad day yesterday: I was in a melancholy mood all day. I don't know why. I was not in the mood to be at work, but I made it through. Traffic was (thankfully) good, and I got home right before 5 pm. I made chicken and dumplings in the Instant Pot, which came out pretty good although I didn't use enough chicken or biscuits so it was kind of a little soupy. I woke up with a headache and I am still in a melancholy mood. I hope the day gets better.

@trooworld I’m sorry you are melancholy. That happens to me occasionally. I hope the headache eases. Hi, all. It’s really cold today. We actually had frost and a few snow flakes but I slept through it. I had to get blood work for an upcoming appointment and that took up about an hour of my time. Then I had to go grocery shopping to get what my son needs to make dinner. He’s making a quinoa and black bean taco salad. I rode my bike as it was too cold to walk outside.

@fabgeekmom Thank you . The headache got better. Wow, that must be cold to snow. The taco salad sounds good. Good job with the bike!

Hi all. I just tried to focus on getting my work done, and I got through the day. Today will be a little tougher: we have a patron coming to the library to do some research, who we've had visit before, and they are difficult to deal with. They are going to be coming every day for the next 10 days. I do not look forward to it. I've been tracking now for 73 days.

@trooworld It’s not as cold today. We’re back to normal temperatures at about 50-60. That’s too bad about the patron. It reminds me of a saying from long ago: everyone brings joy, some by entering and some by leaving. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. We ate leftovers from last night. We had some of the chocolate my son brought home from London. I had 4 small squares for about 100 calories.

@fabgeekmom Oh , that's good. Oh, that's a great saying! Good job with the swim. Leftovers are always good. That chocolate sounds like a nice treat.

Hi all. My depression lessened on Tuesday, but came back yesterday. I still have it full force today, so I am going to be gentle to myself. I have to deal with the difficult researcher today, and I am not looking forward to it. I remembered why I don't like her so much: she tries to skirt the rules, bend them, ignore them, and it forces us to be heavy-handed with them. I do not like to do that. At least today is Thursday, and I work from home tomorrow. I woke up at 3 am due to the dogs getting in a fight. I just got up rather than trying to go back to bed for an hour.

@trooworld I’m sorry your depression came back. That’s too bad that the dogs woke you up. Waking up at 3 definitely would put you in a bad mood. Hi, all. DH and I are at the cottage. This is our last visit until spring unless we have a warm week in winter. I was in the mood for a burger so we went to 5 Guys, a burger joint. I had a little cheeseburger which was actually the size of a normal burger. We shared a little fry order which was probably the same as 2 large orders at a fast food restaurant. We didn’t finish the fries.

    trooworld Posts: 203 Member

@fabgeekmom Thank you . Yeah, that did put me in a bad mood. I hope you enjoy the cottage trip. We have 5 Guys here, although I haven't been there in years. It's really good. The portions are big there.

Hi all. Well, working with the researcher was as challenging as I anticipated. I have to deal with her next week as well, and am not looking forward to it. At least the day went by quickly. I am in a better mood this morning since I work from home. It's supposed to rain starting today and last all weekend. I like the rain, but we have plans on Saturday which we may end up canceling. I had leftover macaroni and cheese for dinner (my husband made it the other day and it was delicious!). I lost 2 ounces this week, so basically maintained.

@trooworld I’m glad you’re in a better mood. Mac and cheese is always good. Good job on maintaining. Hi, all. I went for a walk around the track before we left the cottage. When we got home, we ate some bean soup with escarole that my son made. It was very good. Tonight I felt like I needed a healthy meal with a vegetable so I made Skinnytaste sheet pan broccolini with shrimp. We also had some meatballs that my son had made and were in the freezer. My son said we had surf and turf.

@fabgeekmom Thanks . Yes, it is always good! Good job with the walk. Your dinner sounds good.

Hi all. The gallery walk we had scheduled for today got canceled because of the rain, so I don't know what we will get into. I know I have an art opening later. We had grilled cheese and soup for dinner, which was nice when it was raining.

@trooworld Too bad about the rain. Grilled cheese and soup sounds good. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I ate leftovers for lunch today. I’ve been eating a lot of Greek yogurt lately as it has so much protein and is so satisfying. I had some with some thawed frozen cherries, dark cocoa powder, and protein granola. DS is making chicken curry for dinner.

  • trooworld
    trooworld Posts: 203 Member

@fabgeekmom Oh , I don't mind the rain: it hardly ever happens, so it's enjoyable when it does. The grilled cheese and soup were really good. Good job with the swim. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt as well. What you had sounds similar to what I eat every day for breakfast. I like it, but I am sick of it.

Hi all. Since it rained most of the day, we went to the coffee shop and read. It was relaxing. We didn't go to the art opening. Once we got home, we didn't feel like going out again. I worked on some art and just hung out. Today, I have some errands to run. I haven't been to the gym all weekend, so maybe I'll go to the gym. However, I slept really poorly and am super tired, so we'll see. I didn't feel like cooking, so dinner was air-fried frozen fries. That wasn't enough; I got hungry later, so I had some Trader Joe's lobster bisque.

@trooworld It looks like you need to change your breakfast. What else do you like that you can prepare? The coffee shop sounds relaxing. I’m sorry you didn’t sleep well. I know how that feels. Hi, all. Dinner was good last night. My daughter is coming over and making beef stew and pumpkin muffins for dinner. The weather is still nice so I’ll go for a walk after breakfast.

    trooworld Posts: 203 Member

@fabgeekmom I do need to change my breakfast . I did change it up this week: I bought some frozen mini broccoli and cheese quiches from Trader Joe's. I'll try them tomorrow (today, I have a little more yogurt and berries to eat). The problem is I don't like most breakfast foods: I hate eggs (unless they are unhealthily smothered in cheese or layered on pie crust lol), I don't like sweet things like pancakes or waffles, I don't like oatmeal, especially when it is sweet. I also get sick of things if I eat it too often. Breakfast has always been a challenge. Beef stew and pumpkin muffins sound good. I hope you enjoyed your walk.

Hi all. I didn't go to the gym yesterday after all. That's fine: our bodies need a break once in a while. I did my errands and went to the perfume/fragrance store, where I got some new perfume. Later in the day, I had to take the car to Sam's Club to get a tire rotation. It took nearly an hour to do, so I walked around the store while I waited. I found a cute dress and a shirt that had to come home with me. When I got home, I made sheet pan jambalaya, which was really good: instead of rice, it uses cauliflower rice. It was easy to make and I'll make it again. I slept better last night. Had I thought about the researcher being there today, I probably would have slept poorly.

@trooworld You have quite the challenge of what to eat for breakfast. I guess the main thing is to find what you like to eat, not necessarily breakfast foods, that will keep you satisfied until lunch. It was a good idea to skip the gym. I also like to look at the clothes at Sam’s. Your meal sounds good. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. Dinner is just sandwiches as we are going to see our granddaughter perform with her rock group.
