@trooworld I've been having the same on and off problem with my fitbit not syncing. I had to unpair it and set it up as a new device. I've been doing this about once a month now. I think they do this so we will want to go out and buy a new fitbit.

@cbabie Yaaay on getting in a walk. I'm glad you got in some me time while the others are sleeping. Don't you wish there was a "block" function on real people? I found myself clenching tonight and don't really know why. I think sometimes it just becomes a habit.

@cbabie Wow, that's great! I'm glad you did the things you like to do before everyone wakes up and take over your day lol. I hope your ailments go away soon. Hopefully the CBD oil helps. Thanks re: the cake and the door. I do like the mattress, it's like sleeping on air! Wow, 15 years, you do need a new mattress girlfriend!

@theslightedgeforever I think so, too. How'd you do on water? I think by your smiley face you did well. I did better. I think I do better when I put it in a glass with ice.

Good morning everyone. I guess I'll talk to myself this morning lol. We are onto the weekend and it's supposed to be the hottest days of the year. I'm not looking forward to it. We WILL be running the AC. Our electric bill is going to be big because there was a period of about a week that we ran it every day nearly all day due to the heat. @theslightedgeforever, my water has been better. Not enough, but better. Progress. I'm glad I have Monday off. I have no plans, just to enjoy the day.

@trooworld Ohhhh how sad that you were left to talk to yourself! It’s been really hot this week here too. I am so ready for fall weather! I hope you have a relaxing weekend and a holiday.

Good morning! Well, I somehow managed to lose .08 lbs this week. I’m three pounds away from Onderland…again! I’m trying to not dwell on how long this has taken me and just focus on doing what needs to be done. I saw a friend of mine yesterday who has lost over 40 lbs and looks amazing really motivated me to push harder to reach my goals. So, I’m off to work out! :)

@TeresaW1020 I know, right? LOL! I am ready for fall weather, too. I made caramel apple sangria last night and it was very fall-like and delicious! :D That's fantastic that you lost weight and are so close to Onederland. Go get 'em!

Hello all. In the middle of the night last night, I had an arthritis flare-up and it was so painful to move. I could barely walk. Luckily, it got better as the morning went on but I need to push my doctor to refer me to a pain management specialist because this is the 3rd episode like this in 3 weeks. No good. :( I don't think I like my doctor and I'm going to research a new doctor and switch. PCP are too important to get stuck with a "just ok" one.

@trooworld Ohhhh those caramel apple sangria sound heavenly!! I am off of all alcohol for September. :/ I am so sorry that your arthritis flared up and I sure hope your doctor can refer you to someone who can help. If you don't like your doctor definitely find a new one!

So, today has been fairly relaxing. I did a double workout this morning and finished 21 Day Fix. Tomorrow I will just walk on the treadmill and on Monday I start 10 Rounds, which is boxing and weight lifting. The FB group I joined for it has me worried because they talk about how bad it hurts their shoulder and I already have an issue with my right shoulder. So, I will have to see what happens. I listened to several podcasts today on a low carb eating so I might be jumping back on that bandwagon for sure. Although I am still going to do the carb cycling route first just to see if that works.

@trooworld I'm better with water if I drink it room temp. Cold water hurts my throat for some reason and I can't drink it as fast. I'm slow enough as it is with liquids. Today I didn't do well at all. I would love to live in a place where no AC and no heat are needed. I get up in the middle of the night or after sitting a bit and then my ankles are very stiff and it's hard to walk.

@teresaw1020 yaaay on your weight loss. My son did 10 Rounds. Any program works if you work the plan. So you need to figure out which program works with your lifestyle in the long run. My dd told me about her friend that has lost 100 lbs on IF. She got excited. I told her that she can't overeat in a 6 hr period because it doesn't work that way. Then I told her about a mutual friend of ours that has lost 100 lbs twice on WW. She's back to being up over 200 lbs again. While I really want my dd to lose weight for her sake, I'm trying to get her to see the long term them. Of course it's more do as I say and not as I do that she likes to point out. I tell her I was successful on my carb cycling for 6 months until I got sick. Then covid hit. Now I'm trying to get back in to it. Evidently I don't do well with stress.

@TeresaW1020 October would be a perfect time for caramel apple sangria, let me know when you want the recipe. ;) Thanks re: the arthritis. It seems to be happening more and more. Make sure and listen to your body re: the 10 Rounds. Good luck!

@theslightedgeforever That's odd about the cold water. But everyone has different tastes!

Hello everyone. Yet another arthritis flare-up last night. They are getting more frequent. Is this what I have to look forward to when I get old? If so, I want no part of it! LOL WW is opening up the workshops in my area on Sept 27 (unless something changes). I think I will weigh in but not stay for the meeting. I will still attend the virtual meetings for now. Too risky.

Hi! I have found the last 2 yrs very trying physically (found I had a serious illness and the treatment has left me with other issues) and mentally. I have gained a whole lot of weight and am just embarrassed and lost. My point to this post is I have been thinking of joining WE and it seems most of you are already members. Thoughts? Advice? Is it worth It?

@trooworld Maybe something you are eating is causing inflammation. I hope you get it figured out. Poor water consumption for me today. Sometimes I wonder why did I create this goal. lol I know I need it so I'll continue.

@FindingShan Welcome to the group! I used to be a WW member but then got pre-diabetes so I needed to start counting carbs according to my doc. So currently I'm doing a carb cycling program. I have found watching others that any plan works if you work the plan consistently. At the end of the day, this plan must be YOUR plan. Fit into YOUR lifestyle. Tweak if you must. I'm a big believer in baby steps. I know you can do it. Just focus on the first pound.

@FindingShan Hi and welcome! I am a member of WW and for me, it is the only thing that works. That said, you have to find what works for YOU. So, give WW a try and see if it works for you. Give it a solid 3 months to see if you are losing. If not, switch to something else. WW has 3 different eating styles to choose from, so you should be able to find something that fits your style of eating and lifestyle. To me, it is totally worth it. But it may or may not be your thing. The only way to know is to try! Good luck and feel free to jump on board and chat with us, we love company! :)

@theslightedgeforever I was thinking this morning that I would look up "foods that cause inflammation" and here you are saying that. You are psychic! :) Keep trying on the water. I did poorly yesterday as well. I went shopping and neglected it. On a hot day, I should have been drinking MORE water, not less.

Hello everyone! And the pain continues. I signed up for a pain management webinar sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation, it's on Weds I think. Hopefully, I'll learn something during that. I'm also going to investigate foods that cause inflammation after I get done on this site. I went shopping yesterday and got a new pair of cute shoes and a bottle of perfume (Calyx by Clinique, it's my favorite and I haven't had it in a while). I also got a "girdle". All of these things (except the perfume) were exchanges for things my mother-in-law got me for my upcoming birthday that didn't fit. I'm not crazy about having a girdle to wear but she wanted me to have one for this outfit she bought me so I guess I'll try it!!! :P

Here's a list of the top 8 things that cause inflammation according to the Arthritis Foundation:

    Sugar
Saturated fats (mentions pizza and cheese)
Trans fats (mentions fast foods and other fried products, cookies, donuts, crackers)
Omega 6 fatty acids (corn, safflower, sunflower, grapeseed, soy, peanut, and vegetable oils, mayonnaise; and many salad dressings)
Refined carbohydrates (white flour products such as breads, rolls, crackers; white rice, white potatoes, cereals)
    MSG
    Gluten and casein
    Aspartame
    Alcohol

I certainly have been consuming these lately.

Morning all, Yes I have been missing..ok I wasn't missing..just not here. LOL. I have done horrible. I am figuring out that I am eating to stay away, or bored and since I had broke my sugar fast, that's all I want now. So going to take a step at a time. This working 2 8 hour days with no lunch and only 2 - 15 min breaks stinks. I am working today and really didn't want to. I had made a contact with an old friend from my teen years from my church and she is becoming a coach for Optavia...she talked to me about it, but I want to eat reg food and not buy their food. But I was looking at the % of cal/protein/ etc...and thought I might try tracking those % and see what happens. LOL
LIke a wise woman on this group said find what works for you...

@trooworld I am so sorry to hear about your flare ups. I hope you find the reasons. Based on what the slightedge wrote not sure why I don't have that. :(. Sorry you were talking to yourself..I have found I am the only one that understands me when I talk..LOL

@TeresaW1020 Congrats on the loss. Any downward movement is a celebration in my book. !!

@theslightedgeforever what is that program your son used? How much did he lose? Must be fun in your house. LOL

@FindingShan Welcome to this board. We all come from various backgrounds, but I think we have all tried WW. I did for many years and got to goal. However, the old age belly has come to visit me and I am trying to get rid of it. I am so glad you are here.

@cbabie I’m glad you decided against Optavia. My associate pastor was a coach and he lost all his weight and in less than a year has put it all back on and more. It’s super expensive and just not obtainable for life. Eating real food is always going to be a better choice. That wise woman is right that we must find what works for us. ;)

@trooworld Yikes that is quite a list of things that might be causing your arthritis pain. Looking down that list the first thing that jumped out at me is that you need to go whole foods with an emphasis on healthy low carb eating. I know that in the IF and low carb groups that I have been in one of the first big health signs is a decrease in inflammation. Time to regroup and tweak your diet. ;) Wow! A girdle? I’ll be wearing Spanx this Saturday at a wedding. We girls gotta do what we gotta do.

Hey everyone! So, today I started my new workout routine called 10 Rounds, which is a mixture of boxing and weightlifting. It was a lot of fun and really made me sweat. Yesterday, DH and I went furniture shopping. We are wanting to replace this chair that has seen better days and I want to get a credenza for our front entry and replace this shelf thing that holds way more knick-knacks then I want. So, we just looked yesterday but I did find a credenza that I love and I bought an awesome turquoise vase. DH was confused as to why I was buying a knick-knack and I was like, “Duh because it’s on sale for $20 and it’s freaking awesome!” Men just don’t get it sometimes.

@trooworld I got in all my water today. yaaaaay. Spanx is a woman's best friend. At least now the material is so light compared to my mother's generation of girdles. Plus buying the correct size is important. my first spanx fitting left me breathless and sweaty. Only later did I learn I had bought the wrong size. lol Looking at that list my first thought was what are we supposed to eat. :D So I guess lean meats and f&v.

@cbabie I once read lose weight the way you want to maintain it. Plus listening to people and reading about people who are on maintenance, there's not a whole lot of difference between the two. We can never go back to eating the way we did that made us fat. I'm talking about portions not food. I will still always be one of those people who eat what they want but either less often or smaller portion. So instead of eating junk to stay awake, why not Red Bull or those little 5 hr energy bottles. Are they healthy? No. But neither is junkfood or even too much of regular food. At least you get the slim body along with it. lol Remember the days of Dexatrim? My son used 10 Rounds like Teresa is doing. He didn't lose alot of weight because of his diet, but he was more muscular and lean. He was sore alot though. I remember that. He would drag his body in and out. His way of working out is 10 or nothing on a scale of 1-10. He doesn't listen to his wise momma. He's either running at full blast or whatever is the most you can do, but then he stops and does nothing for periods of time. I'm like just walk and do it consistently. Of course that gets me a look of Well then why are you still fat? It's never been solely about the exercise for me. I tell him cause his stress makes me eat. :p Of course there is hubby's way of if we would only listen to him and follow his program. yeah, okay.

@teresaw1020 Good job on doing your 10 Round thing. You're a machine. How is carb cycling? Too true on the home shopping thing. We want to update our family room and are having "discussions" about it. We could never be one of those couples on HGTV and flip houses together.

@cbabie Hello there! Taking it one step at a time sounds very wise as does finding what works for you. Thanks re: the flare-ups. I'm thinking it's something I'm eating but I'm not sure. LOL I do understand myself the best so it's all good! :D

@TeresaW1020 Yes, I think you are right. But I've read that yellow and purple potatoes are okay? And also complex carbohydrates are okay as well so maybe not low carb but complex carbs. Definitely time to tweak my diet! Yeah, a girdle. I feel so 1950s housewife-ish! LOL!

@theslightedgeforever Yay! Congrats! I did not. :( I did not buy Spanx brand but hopefully, it is comfy. Yes, that list looks good to me. I didn't notice the new zone minute but I haven't done anything to be in a zone.

Hello everyone. So I bought a Kindle book on anti-inflammatory diets called, "The Complete Anti-Inflammatory Diet for Beginners: A No-Stress Meal Plan with Easy Recipes to Heal the Immune System". I based next week's meal plan on recipes from the book. It has actual meal plans but the meal plan has you cooking 3 different breakfasts and different lunches on some days for the week and I don't have time to do that so I'm just using the dinners for one of the meal plans. I also downloaded a free pain-tracking app called "Manage My Pain" which will help me more effectively communicate my pain levels with my doctor.

Morning. Time to get back at it. Head is in the game. Goal today is to stay within calories, get my steps in as well as my water.

Camping is done. Kids go back to school today so we will be back to a bit of routine. I have never felt so blah before. But I guess when you let 15 lbs sneak on in summer would be the cause. I know it won’t take me long to get below 160. That’s September’s goal.

@theslightedgeforever i have had the zone minutes for most of the summer.

@theslightedgeforever I think the carb cycling is working well for me so far. I loosely tracking but after years of calorie counting and then doing Keto, I pretty much know what I can and cannot have. I planned my menu this week to include really low carb foods that my mom and DH will like or that I can add bread or rice too for them and me if I want. The scale is moving down so that is a good indicator, right? HaHa, DH and I are pretty much on the same page with decorating and I get ultimate veto rights when it comes to décor. We also decided a long time ago that there is so much to choose from that we don’t ever go with something that the other really hates. I haven’t noticed that Fitbit zone thingy. I will have to go look. :)

@trooworld Well, I totally agree that if your body can handle complex carbs then you should eat them. No one should ever really eat the junk that makes up the most simple and highly processed carbs. I also really feel that we shouldn’t consume any seed oils and that is hard because most packaged foods contain them, which is why sticking to good whole foods is best. I hope that what you try will give you some much-needed relief. :)

@renaegry You got your goals and plan and now it’s time to make it happen! B)

Hello! This has already been a busy morning. I did my killer workout, which felt great but I’m sure I will be sore later. Mom and I went to Walmart and now I’m home needing to get some housework done. We are getting our screened porch built and this place is super noisy. I’m excited though! I imagine sitting out in the nice weather in the evenings and drinking a glass of wine. Or sparkling water since I gave up wine for September. :p

Morning all, I found myself hitting the ice cream last night, knowing I shouldn't. But something happened and someone went to bed upset and it just sent me spiraling. I know better. I also saw myself when my 2 year old was fussy offering her food. I said today oh no, this is setting her up for failure. Have to make good habits now.
I did take her for a walk last night, the only exercise I got in. I find myself gritting my teeth all day long. I really have to get a handle on this or I will not have teeth in my head. Deep breath...Deep Breath. I had to work form 7-3 yesterday and 8-4 today. I really don't like these 8 hours days, but then I have the rest of the week off. So gritting my teeth and getting through it. LOL

@renaegry glad to have you back in the game...I am a work in progress. LOL

@TeresaW1020 Yea that program is expensive. She is on FB all the time now talking about it, just not telling you what it is and showing before and after pictures. I am glad you are loving your new workout program

@trooworld I would like to try one of those things I keep seeing in the adds that "hold all your fat in and smooth out the rolls". :). I need one, I just won't call it a girdle. I will call it my bodyware.

@theslightedgeforever I can see your DH eyes roll. LOL. Well someday (probably not) your son will not be all or nothing at his routine...he comes from it naturally you see...his aunt has those same things. LOL

@trooworld I only got 75% of my water goal today. Just keep tweaking and you will figure it out. Do you use MSG in anything? Bullion cubes? I know my friend found some relief when she started eliminating foods with it. https://leaf.tv/articles/list-of-foods-containing-msg/ This article lists some other names it goes by in products. So what are you going to do to get into the "zone". You get 1 minute for fat-burning and 2 minutes for cardio/peak. They set my goal at 22 min. Which means roughly 11 minutes or so of exercise if I'm doing it intense enough. I did 14 minutes of the Shrek video yesterday and got in all my zone minutes. But I also earned 4 more zone minutes by just walking around my house back and forth to get in some extra steps. That got me into the fat burning zone for at least 4 minutes out of the 18 minutes I was walking.

@renaegry When you wrote Head is in the game, somehow the High School Musical song "Get'cha Head in the Game ran through my head. There's always a song for me. So anytime you feel like straying, just sing that song to put you back on course. lol Hit those zone minutes hard.

@teresaw1020 My friend mentioned the fitbit zone minute thing a couple of weeks ago. I looked and I didn't have it. We both have Versa watches. Then I noticed a 'update tracker' notice this week. It's not the same thing as active minutes. The desktop version still uses active minutes. This uses your resting heartrate and my fat-burning zone numbers change according to it. So far this week I have had 101 bpm, then 100 bpm, and now 102 bpm to get into my fat-burning zone. They also changed the formula to get that number. But for now, it's something for me to shoot for every day besides my burned calories. Yaaay on the scale going down. You will love your porch. That is where I begin each day and then about an 45 min before sunset I'm there again. Sometimes I'm just sitting and sweating and in the wintertime I'm freezing with a blanket but I love it. I think I'm going to put a ceiling fan up for next summer.

@cbabie Instead of ice cream what if you were to buy those WW fudgsicles. You lost weight with those before. So if you feel the need to go splurge, grab one of them. Plus they are already pre-portioned. Good for you for your walk. I call my Spanx shapewear cause I pretend it's giving me a nice shape. lol Yes on the son/aunt all or nothing attitudes.
