@trooworld I'm thinking about a goal that is not accomplished. Wouldn't that just really be a dream? In terms of a writer who wants to write a book. If all she does is write chapters and then edit and rewrite those chapters is she ever an author? Anyway….the journey continues. Hooray on your weight loss. Feels good to have results.
@fabgeekmom You gave me an idea what to fix for lunch today. I have some shredded chicken in there. I will add some BBQ sauce and I have some tortillas. I'm going to air fry some sweet potato wedges.
Last night we went to my son's for dinner. I had about 1/2 c rice with some mongolian beef. it was really good. Then salad. She likes to eat healthy and is teaching my son. I'm glad he listens to someone. I brought some pecan french toast from a restaurant. The order was smaller than I thought which was really a good thing. We don't need alot. So I had 1/4 piece of that and then she had a honey cake. I had 1/4 piece of a slice of that. I still went over calories a bit because of some nuts I had earlier in the day. I can't buy those anymore. They are like crack to me.
I did intervals on my treadmill yesterday. Today will just be a plain walk on the treadmill. i will try and do some mobility exercises. That was planned for yesterday but I didn't do it. I did do some toe stretches this morning when I woke up. You are supposed to put your fingers through your toes and push them back and forth. Separating the toes. I remembered I purchased a toe separator from Amazon a long time ago. You walk around like that and it is supposed to strengthen your feet.

@theslightedgeforever It is good that your DIL eats healthy. It’s always good to start young. Good job with the treadmill. The toe exercises sound interesting. @trooworld Happy anniversary! Good job on decluttering. Someone will get good use of those things. I love the donut peaches. Hi all. Dinner last night was good. The peach coffee cake was delicious. DS took most of it to work. Today he is making a yellow cake with chocolate frosting to celebrate my DH’s birthday ( actually it’s this Tuesday but we’re celebrating early). We’re also having steak, potatoes and salad. DS is going to London for 10 days at the end of September so that gives me time to focus on healthy meals and no desserts. Today is a swim day. I’d have to swim to China to burn all those calories! But as I know, we exercise for more than burning calories.

@trooworld Great progress on decluttering. I think I would use the term writer versus author but it may just be semantics at the end of the day. I love donut peaches. I saw a reel yesterday about little peach muffins. But didn't save it as I thought it would be better for me to just eat the peaches. LOL
@fabgeekmom Enjoy the absent hubby time. I always do much better when mine is not around. Happy Bday to your son.
Yesterday I made that BBQ chicken wrap. It turned out really tasty so I'll be having that for lunch again. Today I'm going to work on increasing my natural movement around the house. Walking back and forth while listening to my book instead of sitting and reading it. I get better comprehension when I read but I need the movement more.
I did not do my treadmill like I planned yesterday. Boooo! So back at it today.

Good morning day 9 of decluttering is going well. Today and tomorrow is the final push. Still so much to do. Will have to check out FLYlady and the book. I kinda regret not taking PTO for the full week. The two days at work lost time that I could have been decluttering. Oh well. Goal is to have it all done before the term starts in 2 weeks. Clothes will be donated so don’t need dumpster for that and any small stuff can go out in regular trash. I do feel so much better with the progress so far. Getting rid of the old stuff and having a fresh start.
hope everyone has a wonderful day and those that are decluttering keep up the good work!

@theslightedgeforever the BBQ Chicken wraps sound yummy. Will have to make those. Do you mind sharing the recipe?
@trooworld Happy Anniversary! Never heard of Saturn peaches. Will have to check them out!
@fabgeekmom and the peach coffee cake sound good too! May I have the recipe? lol maybe swim to Hawaii and back.

@theslightedgeforever Actually it’s my son who’s going to London. And I need a break from his indulgences. Movement around the house is important. I need to work on that, too. @gemwolf110 Sorry I don’t know how to send a recipe from America’s Test Kitchen. The recipe was almost too good and too many calories. @trooworld. I can tell from your picture that you have lost a lot of weight. Looking good! I know that was fun with the dogs. The soup sounded good. Hi, all. I didn’t sleep well last night because I had heartburn from the meal and the cake. DS made a 4 layer cake and we only ate a little over a fourth of it. If I had made it I would have made half of that. I am thinking I need to shift my mindset to eating one piece the night of the celebration and not eating any more. That’s hard because everyone else will be eating cake and I wouldn’t. @trooworld How have you handled this challenge? I imagine you are around people who are eating food that you can’t eat. I’m going for a walk this morning. We’re eating at our daughters’s house. I know she will prepare something healthy.

I googled it but it wants me to sign up. Boo 😒

@gemwolf110 It’s an app that my son has. We really like it but I probably wouldn’t buy it myself.
1 -
yeah can’t even get a free trial without having to put a card in.

@gemwolf110 My BBQ wrap was really one of those throw together things. No official recipe. I took one lb of chicken breasts and boiled them with a bullion cube and then shredded that in my food processor. Back in the pan I added some sweet pickle relish and some BBQ sauce. Just dumped until I thought this looks like it's enough. lol Added some salt and pepper to taste and that was it. I used a tortilla and added a slice of cheese. Evidently once was enough for hubby but I ate it yesterday too. There's just a bit left and that might even be today's lunch. Meanwhile hubby will be getting fajitas. You are inspiring me to declutter once all my traveling is done. Try and find a similar recipe to the one you were looking for on Pinterest. I do that as I don't really know what the new recipe should taste like so it will be close. I don't like putting in my card for trials either.
@trooworld Thanks for the peach recipe. That really looks good. Did you enjoy comic con this year? I think I missed your notes on that. I'm glad you had fun at the pug cafe. Yes, you can really tell in your face you have lost weight. I'm ready for a jawline. I used to have one of those.
@fabgeekmom Oh your son. I always think of him making you his good food. But I was thinking healthy and not indulgences. I tend to eat better around other people. I take smaller portions. Eat half on my plate. Usually I'm too busy talking and then everyone is done. When it's just me and hubby we eat more than talk. He was raised no talking during mealtime. I was raised this was the only family time we had together so talk.
I did 30 min on the treadmill last night and then did some ankle mobility work. I didn't even want to do the 30 min so after 10 min I either switched the incline or the speed every two minutes thinking I can last for 2 more minutes.
Today will be 30 min cardio on treadmill plus some mobility work.

Thank you!!

Will do! I’m like that too.

@trooworld That was good advice. My problem is that the temptations are in my house. I can handle store bought stuff or cakes made from mixes, but the stuff my son makes is another story. It’s definitely something I have to work on. @theslightedgeforever The bbq wrap sounded good. Good job on the treadmill. That’s funny that you and your husband have different ideas about talking at meal times. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I slept better last night as I didn’t eat cake when everyone else did. That was hard but something I have to get used to. There is a little cake leftover that we will eat for my husband’s birthday tomorrow. I’ll have a small piece.

hoping on quick! House clean out is ongoing but dumpster is leaving today. Rest is pretty much donating and small stuff that can go out for regular trash. Major areas were done. Then will be putting it all back together. Goal is to have it completed prior to the official start to my next class in 13 days!
Have a great day everyone!

@gemwolf110 Good job on declutterring! I hope you can enjoy the rest of your time off from school. @trooworld It is good that you can enjoy treats in moderation. You are fortunate that you do not live with someone who is a baker. Losing and maintaining weight was easier when I was not around my family ( though I do appreciate them). That must have been a great feeling to wear something and feel like you were rocking it. The pug clock is really cute. Hi, all. I went for a walk this morning and it was hotter than usual. But not too bad. For my husband’s birthday we are having grilled salmon, pesto pasta and salad. DS is using up garden basil to make the pesto. And of course, we will finish the cake.
1 -
@trooworld That’s great that your husband is so considerate of you in only making one serving desserts. I did ask my son to not make any dessert until Labor Day when he’s going to make an ice cream cake. And he said he would consider it. I have come to the conclusion that his making desserts is not his problem but mine in how I react to it. So food for thought ( pun intended). That’s too bad about the muscle pain. Instant pot spaghetti is good. I am going to make something similar to take to our cottage next week. Hi, all. Dinner was good last night. We finished the cake and I didn’t have heartburn.

@trooworld It’s always good when everyone in the family is eating healthy. I’m glad your muscle pain is lessening. Hi, all. I went for a walk this morning and it was really hot. For dinner we had ribs that were in the freezer when DS fixed them for the family, coleslaw and French fries that I made from potatoes, oil and salt in the air fryer. Dessert was a small piece of chocolate.

@trooworld Good job on the loss this week. Consistency is the key. I agree on the homemade fries. The pug clock was cute.
@fabgeekmom Ribs sound so good. Yes it is easier when we all eat healthy. I get frustrated with my hubby as he thinks it should be all or nothing. I laughed at the comment of your son is considering it. Maybe every other time he can fix a dessert so it's not every single time you have to worry about it.
@gemwolf110 How goes the decluttering? I was thinking today that if I just cleared out 1 spot/drawer/etc. a week in my house that would be 52 places decluttered. That's so doable. I will begin after I return home from my vacay.
Yesterday I went to the gym and did strength training and treadmill. Plus the sauna. Today I did treadmill. My son comes over on the weekends either Friday or Saturday and usually by the time he leaves I don't want to do anything so I said today I will do it early and get it out of the way.
I've met my water goals for 3 days. Just trying to do all the little things and turn them into habits.

@trooworld I hope everything goes well for your dog. Yay on the weight loss! @theslightestedgeforever Good job on the gym and water. Hi, all. I went for another hot walk today. There was a bit of a breeze. I made fig preserves and baked oatmeal today. I have another challenge. DS has decided to start some sour dough. It’ll be a while before he bakes anything as it has to grow. Also when he goes to London I have to take care of it. He got this idea from watching a podcast with Taylor Swift.
0 -
@fabgeekmom My friend does the sourdough starter thing. The fig preserves sounds interesting. I think that would be good on toast. Is it hard to make that? I love fresh figs. Good job on your walk.
Today the plan is for treadmill sometime. I'm getting busier and busier trying to get things done before I leave at the end of the month. My sil has decided to fly in tomorrow. That was not on my bingo card for this week. My plan for exercise is just 30 min walking on treadmill while she's here I still have one rest day I can use.
0 -
@theslightedgeforever I hope you can exercise when your SIL is visiting. Where are you going at the end of the month? The fig jam is easy to make: simmer 4 cups of figs, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar with the juice of 1/2 lemon. I start it on medium and then lower it to a slow simmer. Keep stirring occasionally until the figs are syrupy. It takes a while and be careful not to let it burn. Which means you have to watch it. @trooworld The zoo sounds like fun. That salad sounds good, too. Too bad about the delivery. I hope you straighten it out. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. DS is making summer corn soup and BLT’s for dinner. My daughter and her husband are coming over.

the decluttering is going well. Just have to go through all the clothes. I realized I have 20-30 storage bins full of clothes and that’s not including the closets and dresser. It’s a lot of different sizes ranging from X-Small to 2X. Not sure if I should just donate all the X-Small and Smalls or only keep a few favorites just in case I get that small. Family say I’ll never be a small again. Kinda frustrating. I was 115 lbs when I was a small I want to get down to 110 to 120. Love my family but sometimes comment pop that I got this motivation bubble.

@gemwolf110 I agree with @trooworld Buy new clothes when you lose weight. Save a few if it’s not too frustrating. As for your family, don’t discuss your weight loss goals with them. Just say that you’re eating healthy. @trooworld A day of romance is so sweet. I hope you enjoyed your day and special meal. I’m glad your briefcase was delivered. Hi, all. I had another night of insomnia. It seems it happens every 2 weeks and there is no reason or pattern. I rode my bike and prepared 2 recipes to take to our cottage tomorrow: Skinnytaste buffalo chicken and spaghetti with meat sauce. We went to see our granddaughter perform in her middle school school of rock group. Afterwards we went to our daughter’s house and ate takeout pizza. I meant to only eat 2 slices but was hungry and ate another piece. I like pizza but it’s not filling. Luckily we don’t do this often.

@trooworld I’m glad you had a nice relaxing day. Hi, all. We canceled our plans to go to the cottage as the Outer Banks bass declared a state of emergency due to the impending hurricane. The hurricane is not supposed to land there but there might be rain and winds. The good news is that I have dinner prepared and only have to make a salad.
0 -
@trooworld Good job on the water. The recipe looks good. It looks similar to what DS is making tonight: One pot chicken chili with cornmeal dumplings (ATK). Hi, all. Today is a swim day. As mentioned to @trooworld DS is cooking dinner tonight. We will probably have leftovers to eat tomorrow. I’m going to have to freeze the chicken I made to take to the cottage. We had the spaghetti last night and I had a serving to freeze for later.

@trooworld I’m glad you felt better after resting. The chicken and tomato recipe sounds good. Good job on tossing the candy. Hi, all. I went walking this morning even though it was a bit humid. I probably won’t go anywhere tomorrow as we are going to start feeling the effects of the hurricane this afternoon until tomorrow. We are eating leftovers from last night.

@trooworld That was smart to get rid of the juice. I haven’t had juice since WW made fruit 0 points and now juice tastes too sweet. You can still drink the sparkling water. Maybe drink it in a fancy glass to give you the feeling of drinking a cocktail. Hi, all. So far all we have got from the hurricane is wind and not really that bad. We’re supposed to get some rain but it’s not supposed to be that much. My son is making chicken vegetable soup with the chicken I prepared last Sunday so I won’t need to freeze the chicken. He’s making it without noodles or rice so it will be low calorie. We’re having that for dinner and pizzas made from 2 ingredient dough.

OK sil is gone and I've had recovery time.
@trooworld Water consumption: I've been using waterllama app a long time but either I wouldn't track or half track. I think it's really all to do about focus. I'm either focused or not focused. For instance while sil was here basically all my focus was on her and not me. I didn't even get in my treadmill on days she was here.
@fabgeekmom No exercise for me while she was here but I did go to the gym yesterday. At first I decided against it saying I could just exercise here as I lose about an hr in commute time. I have so much to do before I leave. I'm going to stay with my daughter for a bit. I'm late this year. I'm usually there. Then I'll go stay with my son. Back to my daughter since we have a trip and concert coming up in October. I do so much better with exercise at her house. Thanks for the jam recipe.
@gemwolf110 I have realized that I will never be in the 120's again. My ultimate goal is 135-138. I might get into my 140's and realize I look too sickly in my face or it's just too hard to maintain. My metabolism is not what it was in my 20's. I've kept one pair of jeans that's it. I figure the clothes will look outdated anyway. I'll buy new ones when I get there. Best thing is to go to consignment shops, Goodwill, etc for everyday clothes as you are losing. Buy the good stuff for school/work.
Off to do some cleaning.

@theslightestedgeforever Good job on the gym. It looks like you have some fun trips with your children. @trooworld I get it that some things cannot be substituted for the things we like. It’s good that you drink the sparkling water in a wine glass. Good luck on the workout plan. The recipe sounds good. You asked me before what I listen to when I walk. My daughter shares her Peloton app with me and I walk to a walking workout. I love the playlists and listening to the instructors. Hi, all. Today is nice and sunny with a bit of a breeze. The temperatures are down and hopefully we have seen the last of the 90’s. I had to go grocery shopping and then I went for a walk. Last night I only ate half of my pizza as I thought we were having banana for dessert. But we didn’t as it wasn’t ready until about 9:00 and no one felt like eating it then. So I have pizza for lunch and we’ll eat the banana bread tonight. We’re having burgers and I am using up some potatoes to make air fried French fries. I have made them before and they are so much better than frozen ones.

@trooworld Yaay on your weight loss. What did you change in your workout plan? I always seem to need a couple of days recovery where I don't do anything once guests leave. It's like my brain says now I can relax. I need to start tricking my brain. Great results from the dietician. I really think as we age the best thing we can do is lift weights.
@fabgeekmom For the walking workouts on the Peleton app, what instructions do they give? I once had a Couch potato to 5K run app where it would give the different actions, Walk now Run, etc. I found out I could run farther on pavement than on the treadmill. I made some banana bread and now have more too ripe bananas so I'm going to make another one right before I leave. Dh isn't coming with me. He gets bored and thinks the kids apartments are too small. He always changes his mind later and shows up. lol
Did anyone watch the Biggest Loser documentary on Netflix? Comments?
I went to the gym on Thursday but it was so busy I didn't get in a treadmill workout before lifting so I just walked around the gym in circles not caring what anyone thought. LOL Had to warm up some way. They had other cardio machines open but they hurt my knees. So I need to build up the muscles more around my knees. Nothing yesterday. My son came over for 5 hrs and I basically sat there with him and his wife just talking.
