aND YOU TOO bUZZ.OU BOTH RE DOING GREAT ON ENTERTAINING US
  • Hi Sandi! Tell us what youve been up to. Not that we are nosy...much!
Sandy, glad you get to stay in touch with Katie, I would get homesick if I were in a foreign country. I get homesick when Im in California!
well, it will take more effort on my part to stay on this plan. When we have access to a restaurant meal, it is easy with many choices. Traveling is tougher. It will work out. Just have to decide what type of meals or semi meals to have in the truck. Otherwise I go for the crackers!
kim, is that right? If you are joining us, welcome! We are all quite proud of Marie, she may have found a cure for diabetes! Ok, maybe not a cure for everyone, but for herself, and that is wonderful. Plus, sticking with it is great.
happy Thanksgiving to Canadians, enjoy yourselves.
    got to get my nap

Oh Sandy, I'm holding my sides...
Phoebe, I used to take a bunch of Polly-O String cheese stick, packets of high fiber cereals, packets of measured nuts, cans of tuna with measured dressing packets....good luck!
Jeri, Happy Thanksgiving and have a nice visit! We're all pulling for you!
Barbie, mised the news of a trip, but enjoy it, both of you! I'd take the cashews any day...YUM!
Hi Becky, Shirley, Marie, Kimie (welcome! ), Chris, and Sandy38 ! Can you tell DH is pushing to eat dinner? Sorry, but I had a slight drawback with email yesterday and today, got it straightened out, but it took too much time!

Sandy, it was a whole Maine lobster ...1 1/4 pounds steamed! Delish. Price goes up to $14.95 in 2 weeks, though. I use lemon, no butter.......Night all!

  • Usually I can keep my spirits up, but this morning I was down, out and bad. Feeling sorry for myself, the whole bit. Then this afternoon about 3 o'clock I got a call from my doctor's nurse, Gina. Not a routine call, she just decided to do it. She told me that she just thought I should know that my last cancer marker check showed the numbers had gone down over 50 %. That is huge....changed my outlook. Praise God for the numbers, the call, and my attitude shift.

    God bless.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: about our trip. We are in Ocean Shores, Washington. We can see the waves in the Pacific Ocean from our hotel room window. We drove across the top of the Olympic Peninsula and along the coast to get here. The drive was beautiful and almost no traffic. We stopped for Mexican food along the way for lunch----I had a taco salad with black beans instead of meat. The cook in the restaurant is a friend of ours. today is his 71st birthday and he offered us pieces of his birthday cakes ( carrot and red velvet) and we said "no, thank you) but we sang Happy Birthday to him. We are traveling without animals
they have gone to "autumn camp" (it's the wrong season for summer camp

:flowerforyou: there is rain predicted for the weekend but so far it is dry. and foggy and cold. We'll be in meetings from noon to bedtime tomorrow, all day Saturday and all morning Sunday so if there's a walk on the beach, it will have to be tomorrow morning.

    we brought the cashews with us and I predict that they will be gone by the end of the day tomorrow.

:flowerforyou: Irene, I had a good friend who battled cancer for many years and she would tell me that she frequently felt sorry for herself and when she did, she would set the kitchen timer for an hour and when the hour was up she'd tell herself that it was time to get over it and cheer up. Your positive outlook reminds me of her.

:flowerforyou: Sandi, glad you are back. I look forward to hearing what's been going on with you.

:flowerforyou: I'm not posting food and exercise while I'm gone but trying to be smart (cashews and Mexican food :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway:   )

Happy Friday!! A day to myself to work on my DVDs, wonderful!! I am stuck at a plateau with my weight but I am not really complaining (just a little:grumble:). I have been staying under calories and besides our walk every night, I do the bike but not everyday. I know we all hit plateaus and maybe my body is saying I lost enough weight. (is that possible). The truth is I am probably snacking too much after dinner even though I am staying under calories. My new thing is those Kellogg's Cracker Chips, it says you can have 27 for 110 calories sodium is 230 mg sugar 1g so they don't seem that bad. I also love those sugar free Werthers hard candy and eat a lot of those throughout the day along with trident sugar free gum which I chew a lot. My other weakness is sugar free jello snacks with lite whipped cream (LOVE WHIPPED CREAM). Other than 100 calorie popcorn those are my snacks, not all on the same night so is that bad? Maybe I am just being vain because my goal was to be 129 and I am now between 125 and 126 so I should be happy, but keep going for those couple of extra pounds. If I stay where I am and can maintain this weight I have no right to complain, but just had to vent a little.

Marie, where did you read this story of Irene's life? I would love to read it if she doesn't mind you sharing. My brother in law did a wonderful thing for the family before his father died. Both his mother and father were born in Italy and met in Chicago. Their stories always held our interest and made us laugh and cry, so my BIL one day had them tell their stories and recorded it on camera so we would always have those memories. It is sad and precious to watch at the same time. It was done on a VCR so I am putting it on a DVD so we can watch it again.

Barbie and Jake, have a great weekend, keep safe and don't work too hard.:noway: I too can refuse birthday cake and desserts, but I have never been a big cake eater, candy is a different story but I no longer eat candy bars. I am not as disciplined as you are, but so far it is working for me.

Irene..... ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    Jeri.........((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Have a wonderful day everyone, live each day to it's fullest.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, your body just may be saying that you weigh the right weight for it. I would love to weigh only 125.

    :flowerforyou: Barbie,,,,share the cashews. I love them.

I wasn't here early this morning because I had breakfast with my daughter. I did fairly well. Scrambled eggs and 1/2 of a small waffle. I also ordered extra crispy bacon but it came floppy, so my daughter ate them.

Hi Phoebe you are not bad your self. How are you making out eating.? Its really hard while traveling and no time to stop and have a good meal. Just ma I can honke the best choice you can. I thought of those green beans that they called a salad. Might be good.. And I would take that hug anytime Phoebe.

Hello all of you sneakers I am not going to name you all for I made leave one out. But have a good weekend. Make good choice when eating.i can honestly say I do not crave any foods now. I TRULY DID NOT KNOW THIS!
Las Vegas Churches accept gambling chips?
THIS MAY COME AS A SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU NOT LIVING IN
LAS VEGAS , BUT THERE ARE MORE CATHOLIC CHURCHES THAN CASINOS.
NOT SURPRISINGLY, SOME WORSHIPERS AT SUNDAY SERVICES WILL GIVE CASINO CHIPS RATHER THAN CASH WHEN THE BASKET IS PASSED.
SINCE THEY GET CHIPS FROM MANY DIFFERENT CASINOS, THE CHURCHES HAVE DEVISED A METHOD TO COLLECT THE OFFERINGS.
THE CHURCHES SEND ALL THEIR COLLECTED CHIPS TO A NEARBY FRANCISCAN MONASTERY FOR SORTING AND THEN THE CHIPS ARE TAKEN TO THE CASINOS OF ORIGIN AND CASHED IN.

THIS IS DONE BY THE CHIP MONKS.

    Hello Senior Sneakers,

Marie and Sandy thanks for the link to the birthday list.
Irene, you said it when you said PRAISE THE LORD, this is such great news.
Barbie, how is the food on your trip, I went to line dancing last night and now we learned the Alvira, push tush, and started the Alan Jacksons good time/ 40count 4 wall dance. I was sweating and enjoying all the calories burned.

My day went like this, got up early, made scrambled eggs ( 1 egg, 1/4 cup egg whites), and 2 turkey links ( these are yummy).
Dropped my car off to put winter tires on, went for coffee with DH. Then we visited some friends and checked back to see if my car was ready, nope its not ready after leaving it 3 hrs. DH said lets go to lunch so we had sm salad with pc of chicken breast and green tea. Checked back to see if car was ready, nope. We then went to the casino and lost our 5 bucks, went to see if car is ready, nope. We stayed and waited and finally 5 12 hr later it's ready and surprise..........they didn't charge us because we waited so long, so we saved a little money and a lot of time but what else do retired people have to do.

It's raining again 3rd day so I might have to walk in the rain. My dad use to say " Rain makes things beautiful" so I guess I will walk in the rain and wait to be beautiful.

to all I have not mentioned please smile and enjoy the rest of the day.
    Chris

Hello ladies, Posted on September, I forgot it was October already! Just finished a rotation and I am in good shape. Had a few sweets during the weeks but I kept a lid on it. Feeling like I am ready to pick up the pieces I let drop a few months back and get my life back. Hope this is not a dream feeling.

This is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, to all you that celebrate it HAPPY THANKSGIVING. :drinker:

I think I mentioned in my long ago last post that I have started two supplements, these seem to be helping a great deal. I have been using them as my first bit of nutrition after I finish my fasting period. Body feels good within an hour and no shrunken, groweling stomach feeling either. When I get home a salad with vegetables, fruit (3 at least) and a protein. At supper a light sandwich and a fruit.

Hope all is well here, keep up the faith in yourselves, and keep praying, giving faith for our group to win battles.

Hi Everyone. I read all your success stories and get frustrated, but I'm happy for all of you. I have exercised everyday and kept my calaories at 1200 or so and I and still the same weight after a week. Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe I need to see a nutritionist.
Yesterday I walked down along the river. It so hard to be that 2 weeks ago it was tearing homes apart. Have a great day. I'm off to work at the amusement park.

But you got to sticck with your plan and don't wondering around. I know for I been there.I think I am on the right path now.If there is anything we can do let us know . We have a whole bunch of caring people here. They are just wonderful. These nibbles here and there sure do add up. I woke up this morning with a 96 blood reading and the scales said another 2 lb lost, I don't record it on MFP till the end of the month I like to see those big #.

Happy Saturday!! We are still with gorgeous weather up until the end of next week, then things will start changing. :grumble: Sadie will be going home today, her family is leaving Disney World and should be home around dinner time. Our routine will go back to normal and that will make me happy since I haven't left the house much this week. :noway:

Marie, have fun with Alice and I trust you to make the right decisions with your food. :drinker:

Pat, not losing weight is one week is understandable, your body is adjusting to new ways and in adding exercise you sometimes gain a little muscle to replace the fat. I too am at a stand still but know that if I eat too much salt my body retains fluid and I try harder to stay focused on what I am eating. I have been lax on riding my stationary bike but today I will because I know I have too. Don't give up, you will be surprised to wake up one day and see that you lost and it will be worth it. :flowerforyou:

Marilyn, I am glad you found us on October we would have missed you. Glad you are back on the horse and ready to ride. Make your dreams come true and be kind to yourself.

Jeri, thank you for the email and I did forward it to my sister so she knows there is someone else with her situation. :flowerforyou:

Chris, you and Barbie will have a lot to share with your line dancing, the only time I have done it is when we used to take the kids to a dude ranch every summer. I have on occasion done it at gatherings but I am not very good. Glad you finally got your car and with no payment it was worth the wait.

I better get moving if I want to ride the bike an hour, time goes so fast lately I can't keep up.

    Have a great day!!

Pat, I was in the same spot you are in for 3 months. I found out the little nibbles add up and when I stopped those I saw a change. Also I am eating mostly fruits, veg, and protein. I do get my dairy in when I eat yogurt. I have given up starches for awhile as I know that was my problem. I limit my starch intake to 2 - 3 times a week. Last week I ate corn on the cob since my son brought it straight from the farm. Stay with it, I just started to lose weight slowly. But 4 yrs ago I weighed 47 lbs more than I am today. I am glad I stuck with it.

Marie, your weight loses are so good, I am very proud of you. You are a great roll model.

Sandy, I just love doing the line dancing now, I have always liked dancing but with bad knees and back it was impossible. Now with 2 new knees and a new back, I have s l o w l y been trying new things. I woke up with lots of pain but I just keep going and eventually it will go away. The weather is so damp today thats why I think I hurt. Thanks for the boost on line dancing.

Barbie, So what kind of exercise are you doing now? walking? line dancing? You are so intergetic. Have a wonderful day.

So my day today: Got up about 6:15 am, and DH made the hot water and lemon juice for us while I was in the shower then made scrambled eggs and ham for DH and me. Drank my green tea. We met friends for coffee as usual and had a good time. When we got home I read some and then we picked the pear tree and found out we had twice as many pears as we thought we had. I have to share them with family and friends. Tomorrow we pick the apple tree and there are 5 times as much as the pear tree had. I guess next week is canning week again. We tasted the pears and apples and they are so much better than the store yum.

I better go for a walk now, talk to you tomorrow.
