Muscle does not weigh more, it is denser... *sigh*

That is proven false because at body fat and frame/measurements superman has their is no way he could only weight 215 pounds then.

Superman isn't human. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Does Kryptonite weighs more than fat, then?

A pound of Kryptonite weighs more than a pound of fat. It's been proven.

Thank you ... one pound of fat and one pound of muscle weight exactly the same amount ... one pound! DUH!
However, being more dense one pound of muscle will take up less room than one pound of fat.

Side note, I get the humorous content of the original message. I just had to comment on this response :)

Here's the REAL burning question. Does Wonder Woman get bloated and have chocolate cravings when its her time of month? Because, you know...this happens to some women!

1 pound of fat and one pound of muscle still weigh the SAME. A pound is a pound.. and if you put em together, you get 2 pounds :)

IT's all about DENSITY not weight!

    yesireee bob :)

    I don't believe a word Superman says. CrossedArms.gif

If it had been said by Spiderman then I would believe it.
Amen! Superman is a known liar!

Superman and Spiderman are both liars or they wouldn't have to hide their identities! How can you believe either of them?
    MJ knows about spidey.....HA!

If you guys want to get all scientific you guys are all technically wrong.

There is no correct answer about muscle vs fat. There is no constant.

There is 3 types of fat and several types of muscles.

They all have different stages, types, density levels, water levels, and etc dependent ON THE PERSON. Things such as lifting weights, supplements taken, activity level, genetics, and etc all play a part in that.

We can say muscle is more dense then fat because on average it is, but at the same time someone could have water logged fatty muscle that wouldn't be near as dense as someone who has solid muscles and have targeted the muscle in that area. add in people with low low body fat still has some visceral fat (we all have it, even if in small small amounts) that actually in theory could be more dense then someone who doesn't work out and has weak main muscles. Just from some articles on web md. It would have to be someone with very low % of bodyfat so the little fat they have is very compacted.

Just to toss another wrench in the mix.. There is no 100% correct answer other then it's a crap shoot and weight is weight. It's the only constant in all of this because it's defined before hand in the equation. Everything else has factors that have to be taken on a per incident basis.

It is quite appropriate for the word "Dense" to be used in the "muscle weighs more than fat" debate

    Dense   [dens]
    adjective, dens·er, dens·est.
    1. having the component parts closely compacted together; crowded or compact: a dense forest; dense population.
    2. stupid; slow-witted; dull.
