This site has totally replaced fbook for me and the bonus is that it motivates me to keep a healthy positive lifestyle where as facebook is always so negative and hurtful. I think myfitnesspal should wipe it out completely and the world would be a better nicer healthier place.0

Facebook is ace, just don't sit on your bottom all day using it!0
-
I deactivate mines whenever I start school or my workouts during the summer! Idk why but Facebook takes my motivation away!0

I sooooo wish I could but I'm in the military and it's the easiest way to talk to everyone at once so that I don't have to make individual, long, boring @$$ phone calls. "hey I'm here and alive" will be common posts for me this coming deployment.0

I did!!!! Twice!!
I was a member in Oct 2008 to Aug 2009 (DELETED)
Then I joined again cause a cousin told me it would be good for business. I deleted again after 1 month!! I am a big opponent of FB and think it is the anti-social network. My biggest peave with it is the people that make it the only way they communicate....
i.e.
Out at a bar one night....
Tony: Hi Jim what are you doing here? I called an left you a message to call me about meeting up but you didn't call me back.
Jim: What do you mean? I posted it on FB
(end example)
The whole world has lost its personal skills. It is all about FB and texting to each other. I am a big proponent of FaceTime however. It is the next best substitute for a face to face meeting. My choices of communication are 1. Face to Face meet/hangout 2. FaceTime 3. Phone call 4. Text (only when calling is not possible i.e. meeting) and it has to be a quick text, no conversational texts. Face book is a waste of time and I despise the fact that it is the only way some companies prefer to market with customers. Its despicable.
Completely agree....people email at work vs. picking up the phone and calling. The world has lost to many personl skills for sure!
I worked as a reporter for several years and once had a job that had me on the phone eight hours a day, straight. I DESPISE the phone now. I will gladly talk to you in person, but to plan that in-person meeting, I so much prefer texting, Facebooking or e-mail.0 -
 I deactivated my account right before Christmas. Too much drama... Too much time wasting.
MFP is much better for the drama and time wasting!!!! hahahahaha0 -
I never started a Facebook account & I'm 30! That just isn't my thing.0

how many of you have deleted your facebook and how many of you have had better results in life by doing so0

I just deleted my fb account 2 days ago, became way 2 much drama and 2 many changes, everytime you get use to it, they change it again, if you block people, etc. they change it and then they can get on your wall anyway. One thing I will say for it, it got me back in touch with alot of old school pals and I thank it for that.0

My husband used FB to find women to have inappropriate conversations with. Plus there is just way too much near-porn on there for someone who has an addiction. His account is GONE.0

I have a facebook and I am on it every day. I am a stay at home mom and my friends live all around the globe so I feel it is the best way to have adult interaction. I don't play any games, I don't have any drama. Most of my family is over 6k miles away and this is a cheap and easy way to stay in touch. I wouldn't delete it if you paid me to.0

I have a crop of virtual corn that died while I was reading this thread.... :ohwell:0

if i didn't have some many family members on it that i only see maybe once or twice a year...or ones that i haven't seen in years cause they have moved out West... I would have gotten rid of it months ago !!!!
I am with you on that!
I agree. However, it is fun to get some snarky comments from old friends every once in a while!0 -
I deleted my facebook. Best decision I have ever made in my entire life.0
