Missgolightly - Sounds like quite the date.. Especially after the 20 minute late ordeal. The next date sounds like a bit more fun.

The body image ordeal is a hard one.. One sends turns both girls and guys into the hospital sometimes (myself included.) I am still trying to teach myself that numbers on the bathroom scale aren't always the most important - especially when you are doing weight training. There are days where I look at myself in the mirror and feel great.. And then there are others that aren't so great. Balance is not easy.. But it's out there.

Megan - Poached eggs? Wow.. I made that once and decided not to go there again - Unless someone else makes them. Congrads on your baby.. Have always wondered what it's like to have a life growing inside is like. Also good to hear about your husband taking initiative. Here's to hopin your cheering keeps him going.

Meag - Kick some spinnin butt. I am doing an aerobics class this semester in school - But it's with a fellow female student.

I have been out of commission the last several days with a sinus infection - The doctor ordered me to keep off my feet for the next day. It's driving me nuts not being able to run. Yesterday my diet was made up of soup, soup, and cereal. Today probably won't be much different. Tomorrow after work I plan on hitting the gym though and getting right back into it.

    Keep kickin butt girls.

Happy Monday Lovelies!! I love that this thread is moving right along. Its been a while but its good to see life back in it! And I apologize if I can’t keep up.

Abby – I hope that you were able to break out of that funk! I know that I get in one sometimes and have no idea how to get back to a better state of mind. I think deep down, we will always view ourselves as the “fluffy” girl, no matter how much we are able to lose. And even when others tell me that I’m not fat, I don’t believe them. I need to feel it and embrace it in order for it to be true. Hopefully date night with the hubby was just what you needed.

Meag – I am definitely not a huge fan of workout videos myself. I thrive off of the energy of others at the gym. But since getting to the gym just doesn’t seem to be fitting into my schedule these days, I am attempting to make things work at home. I really hope that you are able to get things figured out with Ty and the whole relationship thing. You guys seem to fit very well together but I know that you would be losing some (or most) of your independence in the process and you are far too independent to let that happen easily. And best of luck on the job search. Now is a much better time to be looking for a job than last month. Businesses don’t want to have to add another expense at the end of the year if they don’t have to. They would rather wait until the first of the year which gives them the opportunity to recover from it over the time span of the year. Now that you are in the “adult” working world rather than the bar scene, it should be easier for you to find something. Good vibes sent your way!! And completely with you on the anti-bikini!! Wearing a bikini is one goal that I have never, nor will I ever, set out to achieve.

QOTD – I like going bowling, miniature golfing, dancing, walking on the beach and engaging in great conversation, comedy club cause I believe that laughter is good for the soul.

Cynthia – totally awesome that you were invited to the coach’s house!! Good to know that the invitation is there even if you aren’t able to take advantage of it. Sorry to hear that your last yoga class was anything than stellar. And I’m with you on the reviews also. I will watch the movie despite what everyone else has to say. I’m entitled to my own opinion and would like to get the opportunity to review the movie myself. And half the time I don’t agree with them anyways. Everyone sees movies differently.

Megan – can’t believe that you are already halfway there!! That’s great!! How has it been so far?? And great that the hubby is now doing it with you!

Emily – I LOVE baking too!! I wish I had more time to devote in the kitchen but will do what I can in the meantime. So sorry to hear about the date with Bachelor #2 but look on the bright side, it may just make Bachelor #1 look that much better. Although it doesn’t sound like he needs any help in that department.

Emily (moochachip) – sorry to hear that you have been out of commission. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon so that you can start kicking *kitten* with the rest of us!!

And I’m with Emily, I truly cherish each and every one of you ladies here. I have been a part of this challenge for over a year now and it’s the ladies that continue to participate that keep me coming back. Many have come and gone but each adds their own personal touch to my journey. So thank you for that!!

AFM…Luckily woke up Sunday morning and was recovered from the headache. I don’t hardly get them so I wasn’t happy about it. Sunday morning I was able to fit in pumpkin pancakes but didn’t get in the fit test. But still had a great day. Now since I don’t have nearly enough stuff on my plate as it is, I am going to start looking for a new place to live. Things with my roommate and I are turning sour and the home is no longer welcoming. Her demands are off the wall and she is oblivious to reality. I just hate to leave her kids behind but I can’t let my kids suffer for that. So I have decided that I would rather struggle in a studio apartment than live uncomfortably where I’m at. Any good vibes, thoughts, and prayers that you could send my way would be greatly appreciated. Tonight will be my Insanity fit test though and I’m actually looking forward to it. Food has been good today. And water intake is happening. Let’s do this ladies!!

    Woah so far behind already!

To answer Meags QOTD: for fun date night that doesn't involve food/drinking (which is difficult because every one of my dates do) But taylor and I like to play wii together.. we've made up a few wii drinking games :blushing: but we don't always drink! Lol

Meag: I’m sorry to hear things with Tyler aren’t going well. But most relationships have rough patches.. it’s figuring out how to deal with them and fix them is what defines the success of the relationship.

Cynthia: That gym class sounds like wicked fun, gave you a great burn and has huge potential for making some new friends!

Emily: Welcome! I hope you’re feeling better!

Megan: I hope to hear great things about your baby’s checkup!

Missgolightly: (I don’t know your name) I’m sorry to hear about the sucky date, but this next one sounds fabulous! He sounds like a good potentialer already! And we all binge drink now and then.. the idea is to just not do it every day.. so enjoy them when you do, and hey..more motivation to work out even harder this week.. unfortunately the lions did not do so well that game ☹

Guam: I’ve had many roommates in my lifetime.. and my consensus is that while it’s lonely.. if I can afford to live myself.. it’s worth not having all that drama.. either way, I hope things work out.

AFM: well, reading everyone’s comments pretty much took up my time so I have to head to class. Lol. I know this sounds weird.. but I think I’m not losing weight because I don’t eat enough.. My weight loss for (.8lb) a week is 1350 calories.. I’m usually closer to 1100, and the day’s I work out.. I’m typically like 300-400 calories under. Even if I’m not tracking I pretty much eat the same amount.. maybe that’s why my weight doesn’t change. But being a vegetarian I find it hard to find good easy protein that isn’t meat. PLUS having night classes completely throws off my eating schedule. :sigh: It’s 5:00 now, I have to leave for class in 15 minutes.. I’ll get home about 9:30 and have 1000 left to eat. I can’t back that much food / don’t even know what to eat.. and then when I get home late at night.. I have too many calories left. I need help!

SICK! Oh my. I felt it coming on yesterday and today it is full blown. What to do? I feel guilty about missing a workout, but everything I have read says not to exercise with a fever. I know it's pretty much common sense, but I don't want to be put back too far. Sigh. I know I should just stay home and take care of myself and that's what I will probably do. But it doesn't make it any easier!

    Hey Ladies,

Emily sorry to hear the date was a douche who the hell pays with a gift card lol what an idiot and being 20 minutes late your a patient young lady I would been out of there!! Unless of course he had a reason but taking you to Apple bees for a first date is kinda unthoughtful if you want to impress a girl! Bachelor #1 sounds great and glad that he asked you out again and a poem wow too cute, this one seems like a real man!!

Bethany I hate the roommate problems, looking for a place can be frustrating and moving could be even worse, sucks because in Ca the rent is so ridiculous. What I pay for a studio here in silicon valley i can pay a mortgage for a huge home in Texas lol. I can help you out by sending you websites for different places you can look for apartments! Know quite a few as I have moved quite a bit unfortunately, sending positive energy your way good luck with the whole situation and hope it's as smooth as it can be have a great fit test tonight and btw I love me some pumpkin anything especially pancakes!! hang in there missy! :flowerforyou: Love the quote sooo true!

Meag having boyfriend troubles especially at this difficult age is hard I bet especially trying to find a new job, btw hows that going I agree with bethany looking for a job this month vs. last month should be much better I'm in the same boat as you need to find another job ASAP!! Hope your class with mr.CARL went well and btw never told ya but you look beautiful in the new pic of you and Tyler love your hair, you ears stretched??

Tiffterry I would rest up and maybe if you're feeling better tomorrow hit the gym hard and sweat that out but if you have a fever I think listen to your body and hydrate well IMO and rest up, watch a good comedy and chill out hope your feeling better!! :flowerforyou:

Leela The yoga classes was at the studio but unfortunately my last class was Yesterday and the class sucked lol but oh well i plan to join yoga again after I finish my 1/2 need to focus on that! I was "plateauing" for a month or so on and off and tried zig zagging and that seemed to help if you're open to it look into that and give it two weeks and see how that tricks your metabolism!! Good luck I know thats frustrating and sometimes even discouraging!! maybe eating chiobani yogurt if you already don't has 14-15 grams of protein per yogurt, or spicy black bean veggie burgers either from BOCA or morning star, try egg beaters, high protein bread and peanut butter, quinoa, nuts (trail mix) and if you don't mind whey protein powder muscle milk has some yummy ones in chocolate and vanilla that I use either in pancakes and make protein banana/chocolate pancakes super delicious btw or in milkshakes and oatmeal!! Give it a try!!

Emily ( moochachip) Welcome!! Hope you're feeling better and get over that sinus infection ASAP Ive had that before it's such a frustrating illness!! :flowerforyou:

Megan congrats on being half way there man time is flying by!! Good to hear that your hubby is jumping on mfp, great to have the extra support!

AFM I started my first official day of my training plan (10 week plan) for the 1/2 and did 5 mile intervals on the dreaded TM, I have decided to change my career path along this journey I have really found something that I think will be great and beneficial for others as well as myself. Decided to take a course in nutrition/health education and see if that path is right for me. Taking a course at the comm. college, and I actually found a school about 20-25 minutes away that offers programs in nutrition/fitness so I signed up last week and have the core requisites needed for the program woohoo (found out today) so I will be starting that program feb.1 st should take me about 1.5-2 years to complete, the program consists of 10 classes taking 3 this semester with 1 online course separate from the program, busy busy busy me this semester for sure but it has to get done. The program is Fitness specialist with emphasis on personal training excited to start next month but not for the courses it requires... I like a challenge and feel more prepared and disciplined today than I have been any other time of my life! Going to have to really focus and make this happen really excited but very different from working with Autistic children... Going to a coaches/trainers house that I met over this weekend to get measured and weighed, in a bit thats it for me ladies!! Until tomorrow have a great night! Cynthia!

Cynthia - I LOVE Morningstar's black bean burgers.. my dinner for tonight (sitting in class) is a pb and banana sandwich, and I live off whey protein after my workouts, and greek yogurt is the best! I think the problem is.. how many times a day and how often can I eat those things.. I think I've been eating this way for so long (and by that I mean the calories I consume) that it's just going to be a real effort to make sure I eat more frequently. But that's why we are all here! And I am totally jealous of your new college classes! I would love to take classes in that. I'm still considering being a personal trainer because whenever I'm in the gym all I want to do is correct everyones form  BUT I think that's a great idea, and going back to school is never easy so Awesome for you! Be proud! PLUS now you can answer all of our questions here :flowerforyou:

I've been swamped all day and no time to catch up but I just skimmed over your posts today ladies and I must say it made me feel SO much happier! You ladies are such a shining spot in my life and I owe so much to this group and all the support and encouragement I find here. You're so inspiring and knowing I have such a wonderful family of Pals to rely on - and a great network of friends - is such a comforting relief on days like today.

Work was, well, work. Nothing too horrible but still emotionally draining. I had an absolute kick-*kitten* time at spin and made friends with a fellow spinner, which was really positive and made me feel very optimistic... And then I got home, and was immediately stressed out to the MAX because I realized there were a million things to do this week, not enough time, and Tyler got to my place about 5 mins after I got home to have dinner with me, which added immensely to my stress levels. I really just wanted to do my own thing and be productive. Sounds terrible but I just can't get out of this funk with him... I wanted to make protein brownies to get me through the week, but that didn't happen. Had to sort out my training for tomorrow as well - it's his last day at his current job and so he wants to celebrate tomorrow night, which means finding a way to fit in 5-6 miles between work and dinner along with a shower and all my other chores/errands. Then I realized I haven't had the time to do any laundry all week and I haven't go any clean clothes :noway: What a mess! Ah well. He stayed until about 11pm and then I finally got my act together It's sad but I feel like my only "me" time is acquired by waking up 2 1/2 hours before work to try and fit in some quiet time over my morning oats. Is that crazy?

Cynth - Yep - My ears are stretched to a 00 gauge. I had a phase of about 6 years where I got into body mods, and at my peak had about 20 piercings, including 2 sets of stretched holes in my ears. I've also got a sizeable tattoo on my back and for a while had my ears all sewn up as well :blushing: And thank you for the compliments! I adore my long curly locks and can't imagine why anyone with curly hair would want it straight. So much work to get rid of such a fabulous natural trait. People are crazy! The job hunt has been totally unsuccessful so far but I am still working at it... Hopefully something will come up soon! Your new career path sounds both awesome and promising. Can't wait to hear about your meeting with your coach tomorrow! Post an update when you can

Leela - Definitely agree that you need to be eating more. I understand that it can be hard but if you need suggestions, take a gander at my diary. Can't tell you the last time I was under 1600 calories in a day. You need to be eating more often or foods that are more calorie dense. Or just bigger portions. Just have to make it happen. Don't be afraid - food is not the enemy! And yes, you do have time! If I can find the time to eat as much as I do, anyone can! Its just a matter of MAKING time. And end PSA about food...

Speaking of which, someone at work today actually said to me after seeing my afternoon snack "Wow... You're really serious about this eating thing, aren't you? " - JERK! hahaha! I said "Heck yes! I'm REAL serious about not starving my body. Besides, it keeps me from getting to cranky around the office. Consider yourself warned - don't be stealing my snacks!" - Ain't that the truth!

But yes - Cynthia had some great ideas! Eating more healthy fats, more protein, loading up on more calorie dense snacks, and fueling well before and after workouts is paramount. It takes time to get used to eating more but it does a body good! At your height and weight I think additional cals is definitely your best bet. Good luck girl. I know you can do it!!

Guam - Roommates are a necessary evil, IMO. I really hope you are able to work it out. Living with others is a major chore at the best of times, and an epic aggravation more often than not. I am sorry you are struggling with it :ohwell: At least you know you're doing what's best for you, economically, right now. It's not forever, which is all that truly matters. Let us know how your insanity fit test went tomorrow. I am eager to hear! It's great that you are trying to make fitness "fit" if you can't make it to the gym - I've always envied that about you. You do whatever it takes to make things work! Your dedication and perseverence is so admirable  Keeps me motivated!

Emily - Eeep! Bachelor #2 sounds like a total DUD! But thankfully, Bachelor #1 has returned to save the day! Your date planned for this week sounds fabulous. I hope you have a ball  And from the sounds of it this guy is going to sweep you right off your little feet. I love hearing about it. So charming, happy, fun and romantic. Ahhh the honeymoon phase. I need me some more of that in my life! Keep us posted on it!

And to those who posted about the love and support on here- I am totally feeling it. And I am so grateful that I have you all to share in my victories with as well as divulge some of my more serious struggles. Not sure where I'd go without you lovelies. Thank you all for being you  Beautiful, strong women and such a wonderful part of my journey!

    Morning Ladies,

Posting early since I have a long busy day and some bootcamp/training at 7pm!

Cleaned up my resume a bit and started applying for jobs last night really hoping to getting something asap! Went to this new coach's house last night for measurements and had a great time talking about everything life, weight nutrition and I mentioned to her that I applied to a nutrition/fitness program and she mentioned once I get more familiar with that she would hire me as her assistant and once I get certified she would need more trainers since her business is growing. My friend who was the one who asked me to attend this bootcamp actually flaked on me Saturday she might read this, I did mention to her about joining the threads either way she flaked and I ended up going and to be honest Im so glad I did even though I was lost for 10 minutes and late 5 minutes, this could be a blessing in disguise! Who would have thought I start that program this semester and have someone offer me a potential position in the future! I've been super stoked with all this news but bummed I have to go back to my job in a bit, oh well at least it's just until I find myself another job so I need to put my *kitten* in gear!!

Meag that person has got be jealous of the amount of food you can eat and look so lean and toned, which by the way I think looks like a lot but it's not a crazy amount of calories, you eat smart and healthy and balanced including your hot cocoa binge jk
Wow body mods thats awesome actually and what do you have on your back, just curious because Im nosey! I have curlyish sp? hair more frizzy than anything I do occasionally straighten it to change it up besides I don't have that nice curl you got going otherwise Id leave it! Hope your day gets better and have a great night celebrating!!

Eleanor Welcome back how was your vacation??

Thats it for me ladies I will try and post later tonight but thats the reason i posted early so if you don't hear from later I will be back on here tomorrow!! Have a great Tuesday hope this day is a smooth one! Cynthia

Meag - How is the ATB training program going?? I dont know anything about it.....is it hard?? And keep working on the assisted pull-up machine. I have one of those at home (not a machine, just assist bands on the pull up bar that hubby got me) and I love it....it soo great to see how my upper body strength has improved...it makes me feel so strong!! Are things getting any better with Ty?? And I know you understand the body issues too....its hard sometimes...but I am feeling better now and I hope to be comfortable in a bikini by March!!

Lisa - Thanks for the advice...I did take pics from when I started and I can see a difference...I guess I just was feeling crappy about myself!! And yes having night classes can be hard on the eating schedule. try adding in some peanut butter...lots of calories and healthy fats in a small amount...on an apple or something. Or cheeses...that always helps me!!

Cynthia - Thanks!! I know we all have those days sometimes and I think I am over my funk now! i actually think the bikini buying was what hurt me. I was so excited to buy new suits since I had lost so much weight but then wearing them I didnt feel any different, I still felt like I looked chunky, it was very disappointing!! And I think a tattoo is a great reward!! I love them...I have several. Let me know what you decide on!! Happy to heat that you are starting a training plan too!! Good for you for taking some classes...I am a life-long student too, always taking a class for one thing or another.....good luck with it!!! You have a lot going on right now....sending good vibes your way for the job hunt too!!!

Megan - wow at 20weeks already!! It seems so fast to me!! And good for hubby for jumping on the weight-loss bandwagon!! I think it helps when you are doing it together!! Keep us updated!!

Emily - Sorry to hear that your date sucked!! I would hate the giftcard thing too.....thats kinda tacky, esp for a first date!! But sounds like things a hopefuly with the 1st guy....so good luck there!!

Bethany - Thanks...I think I am out of my funk now...just stress and everything adding up on top of each other!! Glad that your headache has subsided and sorry to hear about the yucky roommate situation. I always hated having roommates....but goodluck to you on the new hunt for a new place!! I will definately be sending good vibes your way!!

AFM - feeling better now....out of my funk I think, but thank you all for you comments, empathy, and advice I appreciate it all and love that I am not alone in my crazy feelings!!! Still a little stress about working so much...but I was off yesterday and had my nice date night. We saw "the girl with the dragon tattoo" and it was awesome, even hubby liked it!! I loved the books so I was excited to see it. And now I cant wait for the sequel to come out!! But back to work for 12 hours shifts 3 days in a row and trying to fit my workouts in too. And then off friday and saturday, back to my normal schedule next week. Cant wait for that!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Abby- 12 hour shifts..? Ugh. If you don't mind answerin, where do you work? When I use to work there, Subway did that several times to me. No fun.

Cynthia- So you're thinkin about going into personal training? Sounds like a profitable career, especially this time of year. When you learn more, you'll have to let us in on those secrets.

Eleanor- Argentina? Vacation? Sounds like quite the adventure.

Skylar - Welcome to the fray. I jumped in myself just a day ago, but everyone seems pretty friendly around here.

Meag- It's amazing how working out can take you away from everything.. But once you're done - Back into the frying pan. Enjoy those single moments with your oats - And try to get some zen back into your life.

Leela - Wish I could tell you WHAT to eat, but I can say that you should pack nuts or some sort of snacks when you're out and about. That's what I've been doing anyway - And it keeps me closer to my calorie goals, otherwise I am never close enough. Good luck

Guam - Prayers for you and your kids. Also.. Pumpkin Pancakes? Where can I find that recipe? Kick some butt.. It's amazing how exercise can get rid of stress.

Today I still woke up feelin' pretty bad.. But I got out of bed, and went to work for about eight hours. After that, I went to the gym. 45 minutes of weights, and 30 minutes of 3 minute runs, and 2 minute walks (going to try to stabilize myself to be able to run the whole thing before working on speed.) Walking out of that gym feelin pretty darn good - Take that, cold. Came home and ate a buffalo chicken salad with what food was lying around. Now I am sitting back, and eating my banana in victory.

Now.. To get to studying for a test next week. Keep it goin' girls.

    Hey ladies

Abby Hope your 12-hour shift isn't too bad, I ended up going to the movies also we watched "The devil Inside" not to bad actually or too creepy I love horror movies but it was a bit to much gore for me. Hows your training plan coming along?

Emily (moochachip) Yes Im going into personal training thats my plan and once I do that I hope to go back to school and get a degree in Nutrition long journey but well worth it. Good job kicking some *kitten* at the gym.

AFM I applied at a few jobs this morning before work and am hoping I find something sooner than later my time is ticking I need to get out of that place ASAP! Have a 30-45 minute run planned today and I did pick up some yoga dvds from the library so I will be doing a power yoga dvd tonight not my fave way to do yoga but it's free, convenient and will keep me changing my exercises from this training/weight training that Im mainly focusing on, nice change! Made some yummy stuffed bell peppers Monday night and made some thai chicken stir fry with lots of veggies last night can't wait to have that for lunch, well thats it for me ladies until tomorrow or hopefully tonight for a quick update have a great Wenesday!! Cynthia!

Moochachip - Welcome!! And I am an ER nurse...so 12 hour shifts are my normal...but it is usually only 3 days a week. This week I am working 5 days, because we have someone on vacation!! So a little extra stress this week....normally I dont mind the 12 hrs because it still gives me 4 days off a week, which I love!! Sorry that you arent feeling well...but kudos for still making it wo work and to the gym, very impressive!!

Cynthia - Ohhh we were thinking about seeing that movie too!! My hubby loves horror movies...I like them but I scare easily!! And the training is going well. I have been doing OK with sticking to my plan...running on the treadmill when I have to but doing them outside whenever I can. I need to add in some hill-work though, since mine will be a hilly trail race! How is yours going....are you following a specific plan?? Good luck with the job searching, I know its no fun!! And those stuffed peppers sound yummy....you mind sending me a recipe if you have time?? I would love to make them!!

AFM - I am checking out a local gym tonight after work with a friend of mine. SHe has some guest passes. I may join if I like it...not sure though. She is running now too and is seriously considering joining me in the 1/2 I am running, which I am super excited about...I would love someone to run with. And I will finally have 2 days off this friday and saturday, then just an 8hr shift on sunday so I cant wait to get today and tomorrow over with!!!
