    PLEASE READ!!! PLEASE READ!!! PLEASE READ!!! PLEASE READ!!!

    As you may have noticed we are on part 2 of the 1000 minutes challenge because MFP will not exceed over 500 posts per message board. I had a suggestion made to me that we convert these conversations into a group forum which you would find under the community tab>groups. What does everything think of the idea for next month (February) to continue this challenge in a group conversation and not on a message board?
    This will not solve that problem at all and you would not get people seeing the tread like they do now to tag on.
    You will still have only 500 posts per thread. I have notice some lose the thread, especially new ones. I would be on board if this solved the issue of part 2 and 3 but it will not so I vote for leaving it public for anyone to join and she the thread daily. That is my 2 cents. :)
  • Rest day today, did a little bit today, couldn't help it, Yeah!

    Group v Open? Either is fine. Would being a group discourage people who find the the thread later in the month?

    This topic has a huge number of responses. I can't find the original post. What is the 1000 minute challenge?
    Here's the original post, from part 1
    We are a group of MFP's who have committed to doing 1000 minutes of exercise per month (minimum). We count minutes for all types of exercise: yoga, aerobics, walking, weight training, strength work, stretching or heavy gardening. You be the judge of whether it's exercise. We're here to support, encourage, and set challenges for ourselves. It's all about intention. If we don't make the 1000 minutes this month, there's next month to go for it. Newcomers always welcome! Here’s how to join, plus some additional information:
    • You simply post to join.
    • You will keep track of your own minutes every month-see intro to see what types of activities count toward the total. If you join us mid-month, it's ok to try for a percentage of the 1000, e.g. join on the 15th, go for 50% or 500 minutes.
    • Most people track on the days they workout, sometimes more.
    • We try to encourage and support each other.
    • Not many folks post on weekends but more post on Monday-Friday.
    Group vs thread, Agree with Mollie, prefer public thread.

    Amazing indeed. Normally would be very sore after first post-holiday-break Scottish dance class. Not this year! Must be the mat work ;)

    Matminutes
    11=28 :tongue:
    10=34
    09=37
    08=33
    Total wk1=199 avg wk1=28 not quite enough, must do EVERY day, no skipping!
    07=42 06=0 :tongue: 05=32 04=24 03=35 02=35 01=31

    Steps
    11=12158 Line dance class, no knee brace, ummm, maybe should have put it on for that last bit...
    10= 8689 demo practice, no knee brace good.
    09= 8189 Scottish Country dance class, no knee brace, great!
    08= 3418 lazy bu##
    Total wk1: 50276 avg wk1: 7182 need to "step it up" :laugh:
    07=12616 06=7843 05=10037 04=4738 03=9982 02=3028 01=2032

    Hugs to ALL,
    animal-emoticon-0064.gif
    Barbara, who WILL be size 10 one day
    January: mat work and let go a little every day.
    2012: dance more, bark less and CHECK IN!!!

  • Thank you for weighing in your opinions about group vs. thread. I enjoyed reading both sides and after doing some research I agree that continuing the thread would be better for everyone.
