I only log to make sure I get enough protein and calories. If I'm sure I'm going to hit my goal then I don't bother logging anything beyond that.

With exception of spices and gum I logg absolutley everything! It keeps me accountable for what goes into my body. And I need the structure!

I don't log the small amount of bacon grease I season my egg pan with every day. I quit eating bacon except for rarely so I don't think 2 teaspoons of bacon grease for 4-8 eggs (for me, my spouse, and my 2 sons) makes much of a difference either way.

I don't log most my fruits and vegetables. I also don't log my daily walks--I walk 1 mile at lunch with my work friends, usually 1-2 after work before I pick up my husband and anytime I talk on the phone, I walk around my block which is 1/2 a mile-- I log ANY treat food. (for example, I would log 1 jellybean or mnm) and I log any of my workout cardio exercise. I'm trying to make this more of a lifestyle and I not trying to be too obsessive about it.

Medicine.. but I don't take much often.

Gum if I only have 1 piece a day.

Some spices if I know they are 0-5 calories, but the ones that have over 5 I do log, same with sauces if it's under 5 I don't log it.. I do log Ketchup though.

Only time i dont record something i eat is usually after i already finished my log for the day and i have 100+ Calories left, if i have a nibble of something that i know is way lower in calories and not worth logging, i dont.

Spices, mustard, siracha, etc. I'm not tracking sodium so I'm not too concerned with zero or very low cal condiments. I fill a pitcher with the amount of water I need every morning and finish it by the end of the day so I don't need to log that either.

I log everything, including my gum and spices!! I even log my tea k-cup at zero calories. If it goes in my mouth it goes in my log. I will even log something if I eat something after I close out my diary fir the day. I like going back sometimes and looking to see what I have done.

I'm afraid if I start not logging this little thing or that little thing I could end up being lax on some bigger things eventually.

Since I am making this a lifestyle change I want to do it right and make sure I can deal with it for a lifetime!!

I don't log breath mints and I don't generally log a slice of my grandma's bread.

The mints because they really don't have very many calories, and sometimes I'll eat one or two instead of a meal.

My grandma's bread because it's just flour, salt, and water, homemade, and about the size of 2-3 fingers. So it's pretty small, and I don't know how many calories it would be. But I always mention it in the notes.
  • Spices, medicines, or bits from my son's food. How would I even log that I licked the spoon I used to spoon out my son's yogurt or something like that?!?!?!

I won't log Crystal Light because I don't log all the walking I do at work everyday and I need the Crystal Light to tolerate the water from our cruddy pipes.

Also spices. I know there are a few calories here and there but I'm usually under because of things like that on purpose!!!

I set my deficit at 1000 calories, and i dont log nibbles.
    Example:
Give kids blueberries, grab a few
Give kids m&m's grab a couple
Grab a stick of celery or a couple mini carrots........

I figure my nibbling adds up to about 100-150cal a day, but I am not wasting the time to log 2 peanut m&m's or a single strawberry............

Same with me. I usually don't have the extra time to look up a strawberry or 2 Goldfish.

spices - I'm not going to log 1/2 tsp thyme or pepper or whatever. I also don't log lemon - like I put a whole lemon inside chicken when I roast it and I don't bother logging it.

I dont log spices, anything that has zero calories, and sometimes veggies. Sometimes I log the veggies, it depends on how much I'm eating. I like to do veggies and dip so I will log them if it's alot. There is one thing however that I never log and that's my ranch dip. I dont know why I don't log it and I know I should but I figure 15 lbs lost since 1/3/12 it's not holding me back much. I log everything else even candy pieces.

Particles in the air, pollution in the air, bugs that fly in my mouth, spiders I eat when asleep.
Really, I always log my spiders! Lol!

I don't log my drinks on the weekends. :| However I will track the food i ate throughout the day and exercise so I dont have to worry about having a cocktail. I used to log gum when I first started tracking my calories. I currently log my vitamins because I'm trying to up my levels of things like potassium, iron, calcium. I also log my water intake so I can increase consumption.

I also don't log the bites of food I have, for example a spoonful of ice cream if I want something sweet or a bite of hubby's bacon cheeseburger. I have found that I just want a bite of ( insert food) here. As a general rule of thumb if I take 3 bites or less I don't log it.

I dont log my coffee/creamer/sugar either.

I don't either. I figure, it wasn't 1 cup of coffee that made me overweight....I'm losing, so I don't see it as an issue. When I did WW years ago, I never counted it either. And I lost 30 lbs and kept it off for a while until I got pregnant.

Homemade meals I don't always record... sometimes I'll try to piece it all together but it's just too hard and if I know how many calories I've logged and have left for that meal, I do my best at portion control. Otherwise all packaged and take out foods, I log.

I do that too! I try to log EVERYTHING just so I can be accurate, but sometimes I run into this problem. So, I portion it out.
