I put a frozen berry blend in my oatmeal and some flax (if I have some ground). I usually eat my oatmeal at work so the berries have time to thaw during my commute.

I usually only eat oatmeal when we're camping. But these are great ideas!

I eat oatmeal every morning also. I don't do the instant, I start out cooking my oatmeal in almond milk instead of water, then I add flaxseed, cinnamon, a scoop of vanilla protein powder and a Tbsp of natural peanut butter.

That sounds good! Do you add all that while it's still cooking or once it's done?

I add everything except the peanut butter while it's still cooking. the pb I stir in at the end
Thanks! Gonna try it that way in the morning! : D

All very good suggestions. I like to mix it up a little.

My favorite things to add are:
    honey
slivered almonds - gives a nice crunch
Visalus shake mix (vanilla protein powder)
    blueberries
occasionally as a treat I'll add a little butter

I like to have oatmeal for lunch or even dinner. Very filling!

    1/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
    2/3 cup almond milk
    1/2 cup canned pumpkin
    splash of vanilla extract
    sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice

3 minutes in the microwave in a deep bowl (to prevent oatmeal volcano)
  • I like mixing mine raw with frozen berries and a dash of splenda. By the time I get to work, the berries are thawed and the juices make the oatmeal soft. I top it off with a continer of Silouhette yogourt.

old fashioned gluten free rolled oats, here.

I like a little brown sugar and some peanut butter. I've also started adding some egg whites for added protein. It makes the oatmeal kind of fluffy, but it doesn't make it taste funny, so I like it.
  • I usually add a scoop of vanilla protein while and a 1/4 of fruit salad (packed in water, no sugar added, drained). Very tasty!

    just a spoon.....
  • Well, I made the mistake of buying "quick oats", which are nasty for some reason (to me, you might like them), but before that I would make my oatmeal porridge style in a pot and stir continuously then add any of the following: dried cherries, fresh fruit, shredded coconut, cinnamon and sugar, raisins, almond extract.
  • Unlike most, I use Quaker Instant - maybe not the best, but easy and reliable. I add I packet of Splenda and a shake of ground cinamon.
  • Quaker 1 minute oatmeal with a little milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, & craisins! Yummy!!!! Love it!

I eat my oatmeal as a cold cereal. I put old fashioned oats in a bowl without cooking them. I add skim milk, raisins, almonds, and lots of cinnamon. Sometimes I add banana, too. Yummy!

I slow cook a combo of steel cut and old fashion oats, with milk, water, cinnamon, and vanilla. In the morning, I add fruit, {blueberry, raspberry, or tart apple}, chia seeds, and lightly sweeten it.
