This. So weight loss goes slower......the goal is to BE a healthy weight, not just get there once.Only follow a program that you can envision following for the rest of your life.0

Being healthy is the most important thing.
No matter how much control you feel never let it be able the numbers, it's about how you feel, how you get through life, and how well you can create a positive lifestyle. Don't let it be about happiness or being thin. Please don't make mistakes like I did.0 -
Forgive yourself - don't let the voice in your head be hateful. You *do* deserve health and happiness.

The only day you have is the day you are in....so if you did your best today, you reached your goal. Congratulations! Now get some sleep. :yawn:0

Daily affirmation: "I'm not there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday"0

If you have a lot to lose, instead of saying 100 pounds, set a 5 or 10% goal. They're much more realistic and you get that much more motivated when you hit a mini goal!0
-
everyday is a new day! if you mess up yesterday don't feel too bad and quit the diet, just focus on THAT DAY'S goal!0
-
Stop telling yourself your fat.
That's how I was able to start losing, and how I've come this far.0 -
Log it. If you bite it..write it!0
-
plan ahead. i know what i'm going to eat all day in the morning so there's no need to go scrounging around for something bad to eat because i'm hungry.0

It's not a race, it's your life.0
-
Do it for the "right" reason(s).0

Eat dinner off a smaller plate so you automatically eat smaller portion sizes. If you have a bigger plate, you will put more food on it and chances are you will keep eating once you're full just because it's there0
-
Sorry I have to throw in another one - eat slowly and chew your food properly. It takes 20minutes for you to feel full!0

Most dieters slip up and get completely derailed. They have all or nothing attitudes. They say things like "well, I blew it and binged. I suck. I'll start again next week"
Successful dieters say "*kitten*, I ate too much." but they get back on track at the very next meal. So my advice is: be a dieting rock star! Be flexible and ditch the all or nothing attitude.0 -
When you feel discouraged, or hit a plateau, remember where you started, and look at how far you have come since then...admire what your body is capable of doing that it wasn't able to do before. Your worth as a person comes from so much more than a number on a scale.
